Leonardo DiCaprio might be a little leery of working with conspiracy-mired Mel Gibson -- RadarOnline.com is reporting Leo has withdrawn from a Gibson-directed viking film.
Asked if Leo still planned to be involved in the project, a source close to the 'Inception' star told Radar, "Not a chance." The film would have been the first collaboration between the two.
If officially confirmed, DiCaprio pulling out could be a major signifier of professional repercussions for Gibson in the wake of his alleged racist rant.
"Leo has earned the right to pick and choose who he works with and Mel Gibson is not one of them," Radar's insider said, citing DiCaprio's worries of risking his reputation by association with Gibson.

Motorola on Thursday reported a better-than-expected second quarter and said its enterprise mobility business did well. The company also said that it expects to gain smartphone market share with the Droid X launch.
The company reported second quarter earnings of $162 million, or 7 cents a share, on revenue of $5.4 billion (statement). Non-GAAP earnings were 9 cents a share. Wall Street was expecting earnings of 7 cents a share on revenue of $5.19 billion.
In addition, the company slightly raised its outlook for the third quarter. Motorola projected earnings of 10 cents a share to 12 cents a share for the three months ending Sept. 30. Wall Street was expecting earnings of 10 cents a share. Motorola’s outlook includes the results of its networks unit, which is being sold to Nokia Siemens. That sale is expected to close at the end of 2010.

Nokia's Symbian^3 flagship -- the 3.5-inch N8 with 12 megapixel camera -- just went up for pre-order on Espoo's Italian storefront showing an end of September availabilty. Now before you get up in arms about the €469 price tag (about $610), remember, the €370 estimated retail price announced was pre tax and pre carrier subsidy. That's just how Europe does things, deal with it. We're not seeing the preorder available elsewhere but we'll update you if that situation changes.

Ancient time-costume romantic comedy movie "The Jade and the Pearl" will hit theatre screens mid-August. In the movie, Joey Yung breaks through her previous image, portraying a character resembling a brigand female queen.
In the movie starring Charlene Choi and Raymond Lam with secondary characters Joey Yung and Wong Cho Lam, Joey Yung acts as a brigand female queen (Cottage king), brave and fierce, rough and masculine. Joey Yung revealed that the director intentionally arranged for her to eat more, for the sake of gaining weight. Regarding for the first time starring in a movie, her on-screen image is a bit "ugly," but she expressed that she's very happy, "I hope to be like Karen Mok in "Shaolin Soccer", that sort of not having anything holding back." Joey also revealed that in the funny plot: "This female brigand has lots of funny behaviour, for example setting her mind to thinking a written war challenge is a love letter, the people she is the leader of are equally as clumsy as her, brave but without any plans, actually this female thief is very witty, innately with a desire to steal, making the movie filled with a comedy feel."

Demi Moore and Miley Cyrus are in Detroit this week, where the gals are filming scenes from the forthcoming comedy-drama Laughing Out Loud (LOL).
“In the moment!” Mrs. Kutcher said Tweeting a frame from the set on Wednesday.
The movie will be an American adaptation of a 2008 French coming of age film, about a 15-year-old girl struggling with her first broken heart and a strained relationship with her divorced mom.
Hung’s Thomas Jane and Ashley Greene of The Twilight Saga will also star.

The next time you’re cruising down the Interstate having your ears molested by the sound of Paris Hilton screeching over an obnoxious techno beat, just blame Australian songbird Kylie Minogue.
Paris just can’t seem to get Kylie “outta her head.” So much so – she’s ripped some of her steez for her new album. New vocal stylings (or lack thereof) from the socialite/heiress will soon by waifing up from the AM/FM radio and Paris is drawing inspiration from the “Locomotion” pop icon as she readies her sophomore set — a follow-up to her 2006 debut, Paris.

Well, it looks like Verizon has a bit of company at the negative end of the earnings spectrum -- Sprint has now also reported a loss for the second quarter, although it's a slightly smaller one than expected. Specifically, the company posted a $760 million net loss for the quarter that's just ended, or 15 cents a share, which isn't exactly great, but is better than the 17 cent loss analysts had predicted. That gain is at least partly attributed to strong sales of the HTC EVO 4G, and by the company's best ever year-over-year improvement in net postpaid subscribers, which helped boost the number of wireless subscribers by 110,000 (for a total 48.2 million customers). Looking for some more hard numbers? There's plenty to keep you busy at the link below.

As the female lead in one of this year’s Anniversary Series "Can’t Buy Me Love", Charmaine Sheh is being viewed as the favorite to win the TV Queen award at the end of the year. Even so, it can hardly be said that she has no competition: with fellow TVB actress Fala Chen being elevated to ‘first-line fa dan’ status this year, the immense popularity she gained after her performance in the recently-aired series "Ghost Writer", the praise that she has received from various producers regarding her acting, plus her participation in BOTH of this year’s grand production Anniversary Series ("Can’t Buy Me Love" and "Rosy Business 2"), she could very well give Charmaine a ‘run for her money’ in the fight for TV Queen.
The studs of 'Scott Pilgrim vs. the World' -- Michael Cera, Jason Schwartzman and Chris Evans -- are introducing a new male trend in GQ's comedy issue: Pantless Saturdays.
"Monday through Friday belongs to our bosses, Sunday to our Lord," writes Brett Martin in the introduction to the hilarious photo shoot. "But Saturday, if only for a precious few hours, it's all about the boys -- about the sweet liberation that comes with standing tall and unfettered, proudly proclaiming, 'This, madam, is my junk. Now, kindly step aside and allow me into the museum.'"
Other highlights from the annual comedy issue include Bill Murray weighing in on making 'Garfield' ("I worked all day and kept going, 'That's the line? Well, I can't say that.' And you sit there and go, 'What can I say that will make this funny? And make it make sense?' And I worked. I was exhausted, soaked with sweat, and the lines got worse and worse.") and three covers with funnymen Paul Rudd, Tracy Morgan and Zach Galifianakis.

Yesterday, we reported on the T-Mobile information page for a mystery HSPA+ device and subsequently on a theory that this device was the HTC Vision/Blaze. Now, to further cloud the rumor waters, Android Central has received an image that their tipster claims is the HTC myTouch 3G HD, and the T-Mobile mystery device. AC’s tipster described the device as a myTouch 3G Slide minus the slide-out QWERTY keyboard and with an HSPA+ capable radio. What do you think? Would any of you T-Mo customers sign up for an HSAP+, all-touch myTouch?

It's hard to say for certain what exactly this flyer means, but it sure looks as if at least some iPhone 4 owners will be able to snatch a free invisibleSHIELD 4fix (valued at $9.99 or so) from their local Best Buy. Based on a number of tips that we've received, we're getting the impression that the yellow-tagged retailer could be handing out (and installing) completely free side coverings for any iPhone 4 owner that waltzes into a store, presumably as a proactive measure to fend off returns or to upsell consumers on an entire invisibleSHIELD / separate case. Nothing about this notice makes clear that you actually have to buy your iPhone 4 from Best Buy in order to take advantage, but we probably wouldn't waste a lunch break giving this a go without a verbal confirmation from your local store manager. Until it's made official, of course.
