Amanda Bynes on Twitter: 'I'm Done Acting'

Amanda Bynes announced early this morning she'll retire from acting.

"I don't love acting anymore so I've stopped doing it," she wrote on Twitter. A quick volley of tweets included further explanation: "Being an actress isn't as fun as it may seem" and "I've never written the movies & tv shows I've been apart of I've only acted like the characters the producers or directors wanted me to play."

The 24-year-old star became famous on Nickelodeon, eventually starring in films like 'She's the Man' and 'Hairspray' and posing as cover girl for magazines like Cosmopolitan and Maxim.

Is Megan Fox Willing to Go Fug?

We're going to give Megan Fox the benefit of the doubt. We bet that behind her overexposed ('tho impressive) T&A there exist some acting chops that the babe should be using for more challenging roles than Stereotypical Hot Girl in Robot Revenge 4.

And Megan knows it, too. Which is why the chick griped so often that T-town nemesis Michael Bay only ever wanted to film those infamous "tits and ass."

But hello, there's a tried and true way for H'wood hotties to show they've got what it takes to cut it in this biz—by going ugly. So is the foxy Megan Fox willing to shed her signature sex appeal?

"Um, you know, I did a few scenes like that in Jennifer's Body, where I was a zombie," Meg told us last night at the premiere of her latest flick Jonah Hex—in which she plays...a super hot hooker, damn.

We saw Jennifer's Body, babe, and you were the sexiest zombie we've ever seen. The blood and guts couldn't quite distract from your supernatural amounts of cleavage—enough to get even the undead feelings all hot and bothered.

3G video call on Fring for Android: bringing HTC EVO 4G and Dell Streak together (hands-on)

Consider this: you may have an Android phone with a front-facing camera, and so do your distant loved ones (yes, friends count too). Now slap that free IM app Fring onto your phone, and the once-dormant chat camera shall finally come to life -- right now only the Streak and EVO 4G are supported, whereas the others (like the X10) will have to rely on their main cameras. Still, Fring also supports dual-camera Symbian devices plus Skype video calls to and from computers, and since it isn't locked down to any particular connection method, users with unlimited data allowance get to make free 3G video calls! Take that, FaceTime. Read on to watch our very own transatlantic banter.

Oh sure, we shouldn't be getting all that aroused about an age-old technology, but given the massive video quality improvement -- clearer picture with more tolerable lag -- and the aforementioned affordability of mobile data, it seems like 3G video calls might be able to make a comeback. That said, with each minute of Fring video sipping up about 1MB, do watch out for your carrier's fair use policy. We're sure you kids will behave, anyway.

HTC EVO 4G sold out online once again

It's happened before, and it's happening again: the EVO 4G's getting hard to find. We're sure you'd be able to track it down locally, but the option that requires the least dreadful physical movement -- ordering online -- isn't an option for now, with Sprint saying "this device is so hot we can't keep it on our virtual shelves." We imagine the situation will clear itself up shortly, but it makes you wonder -- could the screen separation fix on the assembly line be the culprit behind the shortage?

Are AT&T and Apple randomly cancelling iPhone 4 pre-orders?

We aren’t too sure what’s going on here, but all of a sudden our tip line has been flooded with emails from irate iPhone 4 pre-orderers who say their order has been cancelled for no apparent reason. Gizmodo is also hearing the same thing, so it seems there’s definitely something to this. We’ve got two sample emails that we were sent in after the break in case you’re curious. But in the event you’ve received such an email, we’d love it if you would keep letting us know so we can get to the bottom of this.

Court case between SM Entertainment and Crebeau’s WiShop Plus canceled

Crebeau’s WiShop Plus / 위샵플러스 (WSP), a cosmetic company that TVXQ’s Yoochun, Jaejoong, and Junsu are investing in, were known to have filed a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and CEO Kim Young Min for defaming Crebeau / WiShop Plus’s image. Now, it’s been revealed that the lawsuit has been dropped.

As a recap, a controversy arose last year due to alleged claims of SM’s slave contract. The JaeChunSu trio decided to step out of SM Entertainment due to their dissatisfaction towards SM’s unfair contract and disrespect towards their rights. SM Entertainment rebutted and stated that it wasn’t about the supposed slave contract rather that the trio were motivated by money due to their investments into the cosmetic company. This resulted in Crebeau / WiShop Plus to file a lawsuit against SM Entertainment and CEO Kim Young Min., due to the blame being put on the cosmetics company and their image being tarnished.

Report: Facebook '09 revenues as high as $800 M

Social-networking powerhouse Facebook saw its revenues climb as high as $800 million in 2009, $100 million more than previously estimated, according to a media report.

The Reuters news agency reported the higher revenues, citing unnamed sources. One of those same sources told the agency Facebook had also seen net profits in the tens of millions of dollars last year, Reuters said.

Industry blog Inside Facebook had previously estimated that Facebook made as much as $700 million in revenues last year, and Facebook board member Marc Andreessen said last year that the company would surpass $500 million in revenues for 2009.

Privately held Facebook doesn't reveal specifics on its financial numbers.

Anything but on the fringe: Katy Perry continues string of Canada appearances in stunning black and white dress

Say what you like about her lyrics but Katy Perry sure knows how to pick a stylish dress.

After turning up to magazine shoot in a 1950s pale blue, cherry-print halter-neck number in Toronto yesterday, the 25-year-old appeared on chat show Etalk in a monochrome fringed mini-dress.

The asymmetric piece, which graduated from white to black, highlighted the singer's enviable figure and displayed her individual sense of style.

Teamed with open-toe black mesh sandals, a silver cuff and, of course, her sparkling engagement ring - courtesy of fiance Russell Brand - the I Kissed a Girl star looked sleek in the on-trend ensemble.

Microsoft confirms: $199 new Xbox 360 coming soon, as well as Kinect bundles

Well, none of this will come as a big surprise here, but it's always nice to hear it straight from an official source. Microsoft has confirmed that a $199 version of new Xbox 360 will be coming in the fall to replace the now-$149 Arcade, which is no longer in production. In addition, the company's also spilled a few more beans -- Kinect will be available as a bundle with the new Xbox 360, and though there isn't any official pricing information on that one just yet, we've seen some telltale evidence on that front which would lead us to believe it'll run somewhere in the neighborhood of $399 for an Elite and $299 for the Arcade. So now you know.

OnLive Streaming Game Service Tested (At Home, Finally!)

We've checked out the OnLive pure-streaming gaming system before, but it was always in a somewhat controlled environment. Finally, the service has launched, and we can see what it's like to play this at home. Where it matters.

To start off, a quick explanation of what OnLive is. It's an entirely cloud-based, server-side rendering solution for games, where all your computer is responsible for is displaying video, and taking your keyboard/controller commands and feeding it back to the server. There are two ways that games are rendered on OnLive's services: Natively, if the developer uses their APIs (which isn't too different from native Windows DirectX APIs, supposedly), and rendered on a console and fed through OnLive's video services. The former gives you better performance, the latter is slower.

So in essence, your computer is a thin client and doesn't have to be very fast, but your internet needs to be capable enough to support all that video coming down. Here's my home connection that I tested it on. Fast enough.

Facebook For iPhone Updated: No iOS 4 Support, No iPad Support, Broken UI

There was a time when Facebook was at the forefront of mobile app development. Before there was even an App Store, the web app Facebook put out that was optimized for the iPhone was brilliant. Then the App Store came and with it was a great Facebook native app. Then came version 3 of the app, which was even better. Those days, sadly, are long over.

Everyone already knows that the Facebook Android app sucks. The iPhone app, though, thanks largely to version 3, has remained a bright spot. But while some people are gushing today over the latest iPhone update (3.1.3, the first update in a while), I’m not one of those people.

First of all, Facebook still has yet to release a native iPad app. This is pretty ridiculous considering that undoubtedly a high percentage of the millions of iPad owners have searched the App Store for a Facebook app, and come away with only imitations (which Facebook has demanded be taken down). As I noted above, the original Facebook app for iPhone launched alongside the App Store itself. We’re now almost 3 months post-iPad launch, and there is absolutely no word about when we can expect an iPad app.

Whether a series plagiarized or not has nothing to do with its artists.

TVB series "The Mysteries of Love" has once again been accused of plagiarizing 2 Japanese drama series, one of them being Kimura Takuya’s Mr. Brain.

During public events, "The Mysteries of Love" star Raymond Lam has repeatedly been questioned by reporters on the plagiarism controversy. To be perfectly honest, Raymond is only an actor in the series – creation of the script really has nothing to do with him. So when reporters continue to pursue him about the issue, the intention is nothing more than wanting to get his ‘reaction’ to the situation so they can ‘make news’ from it.

That’s not to say that TV artists are not allowed to voice their opinions about the content of a series they are currently filming. In fact, there have been numerous reports about certain artists expressing their opinions about particular scripts and some have even gone as far as modifying the scripts themselves.

God bless Lady Gaga! Outrageous singer wears Yankees shirt over bra and knickers for baseball match

She has never been one to fade into the background.

And, just eight days after wearing a studded bra and knickers to a baseball game, Lady Gaga arrived to watch the New York Yankees take on the New York Mets wearing little more than a black underwear set and a Yankees shirt.

The 24-year-old singer even adjusted her shirt so it showed off more of her cleavage as she stood for a rendition of God Bless America.

With her hand patriotically placed on her chest, Gaga managed to keep a straight face as she stood with her black bra clearly on display.

But her friends weren't as successful, and failed to stop giggling as they watched the Alejandro singer with astonishment.

'Toy Story 3' opens big on Friday: $41M

Here’s a lesson for the movie studios: You can make a sequel 11 years after its predecessor as long as the story is great and the characters are so beloved that earlier generations are still attached to them. That’s what Disney-based Pixar did with the third chapter in the Toy Story franchise. Toy Story 3 grossed an estimated $41 million Friday night, suggesting that many of those 20-somethings who watched Toy Story 2 when they were in elementary school came back to the franchise to see its latest chapter. Now Buzz Lightyear and Cowboy Woody are destined for Pixar’s record books, with the highest-opening ever for a Pixar movie. Based on the Friday numbers, Toy Story 3 could earn as much as $120 million for the three-day frame. (The studio’s previous opening-weekend record was $70 million for Finding Nemo in 2003.)

That’s the good news. The bad news is that Warner Bros.’ action Western Jonah Hex is a giant misfire. The Josh Brolin-starrer grossed approximately $2 million for a weekend that’s likely to wind up with only $6 million and a probable sixth place in the box office rankings. That is really bad. And it doesn’t bode well for the studio that released Splice earlier this month to paltry numbers too.

Android 2.2 build FRF72 for Nexus One finally leaks

Its existence has been an on-again, off-again rumor for over a week now, but it looks like a new build of Android 2.2 Froyo for the Nexus One -- FRF72 -- is very real. It finally leaked in the past few hours, we've tested it on a Nexus One of our own, and as far as we can tell, it's straight-up legit. Get it if you dare -- it's up on Google's official servers right now, but if it's pulled, we've no doubt it'll be floating around on a bunch of mirrors ad nauseam. G'luck to ya, folks!

Acer expects to overtake HP as world's biggest laptop vendor by year's end

Ah, the inexorable rise of a once-small Taiwanese company. Acer chairman JT Wang has told investors in a conference call this week that his company is on track to overtake HP in worldwide laptop shipments before the year is through. That assertion is backed up by Gartner's data, cited in the Wall Street Journal, which indicates that Acer shipped 9.49 million mobile computers in the first quarter of 2010, just ahead of HP's 9.47 million. Positive vibes are also being felt on the desktop front, where Acer aims to shift 10 million units this year, while a decent $15 million is being invested into "developing a a smartphone platform based on Google Inc.'s Android." We'll be curious to see whether this thrifty strategy pays off against HP's ebullient $1.2 billion acquisition of Palm, but one thing's for sure: PC vendors are hungry for some of that sweet smartphone pie.

OnLive's MicroConsole coming by end of 2010

Now that OnLive's beta is (kind of) out the door -- a "bumpy takeoff" as coined by founder Steve Perlman -- the company is talking about its future plans. One of those happens to be a piece of hardware dubbed the MicroConsole that'll serve as the link from the service to your TV. Talking with Joystiq at E3, Perlman said it expects to push the device out "by the end of 2010" and that beta users are already using it. So, when can we get in on that beta?

Left 20 years ago, Stephen Chow still owes TVB

Since "6th aunt" Mona Fong's entry into TVB, the whole station only pursues one word - "cheap".

Speaking of that, it is because of "cheap" that the Artiste Department started searching back into the old files to see who still owes TVB? Searched and search, suddenly discovered that Stephen Chow who left TVB 20 years ago still owes TVB! Wah! The Stephen Chow today is worth a hundred times more. Mona confirmed with TVB Foreign Affairs Director, Tsang Sing Ming, he admits that Stephen still does have an artists contract with TVB. He said: "But is not convenient for me to reveal the details of the contract. Actually there are many celebrities who left TVB and still have a contract with us, like Ekin Cheng."

Eddie Peng dodges Jolin, skipping the Taiwan exhibit at the World Expo

Last week, the Shanghai expo received guests from both Taiwan and Mainland China to act as a delegation visiting both the Taiwan and China exhibits. Eddie Peng, along with the lead actress of "Hear Me," Michelle Chen and director Zheng Fen joined together as a team and visited the England and Greek exhibitions, avoiding the Taiwan exhibition that good friend Jolin sang the theme song for. Whether not visiting the Taiwan exhibit was to avoid arousing suspicious, he hurriedly changed the subject by saying, "Seeing the England and Greek exhibitions allowed me to better understand local cultures and conditions. I want to bring my mother on a trip to Europe."

Watching "Hear Me" The People's Liberation Army gives Deep Praise

Regarding Double J's dance together, he laughed and said, "I saw the news" and further commented that Jolin maintained utter secrecy and he was completely oblivious to the event until it happened. After seeing the news he felt Double J performed really well. A few days ago, "Hear Me" was selected as a film launching a bilateral (Taiwan and Mainland) cooperation. At the scene, top party member of the People's Liberation Army, stated that the film, "made full use of China's ethics" and praised the parent-child (successive generation) relationships within the show, excitedly hugging him.
