Lindsay Lohan appears in a sexy retro bathing suit on the cover of the latest German GQ.
It's just one of the many pics featured in the August issue that were taken on the beaches of Malibu shortly after the embattled actress was fitted for her SCRAM bracelet, (which she conveniently covered up during last month's shoot).
As for the mag's accompanying profile piece, it's in the country's native language, which is just as well. After all, when it comes to scandal-plagued Lindsay, there's already enough to read these days.
So, go ahead and enjoy some more photos after the jump—no translation needed!

Apple’s promised iOS4 update has been pushed out for the iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and iPhone 3G. iOS 4.0.1 apparently “improves the formula to determine how many bars of signal strength to display,” after Apple discovered they had been using the wrong calculations. Previewed earlier today in the iOS4.1 developer beta, the update is expected to make the iPhone’s signal meter more accurate, but not address the hardware issue experienced by iPhone 4 owners where holding the smartphone in a certain way can significantly impair antenna performance.
Apple’s solution for that remains to be seen; the company has arranged a press conference tomorrow morning at 10am PT – which we’ll be liveblogging at http://live.slashgear.com/ – to discuss the iPhone 4, but given no hint as to what exactly they’ll be covering. At least two analysts have suggested a hardware fix may be in the works.

Jennifer Aniston's social life seems pretty busy lately.
Last week, she went to dinner with actor Chris Gartin. And just last night, she hit Soho House with producer Scott Stuber, who she worked with on The Break Up and Love Happens.
Jen arrived with the 40-year-old producer and opted to sit out on the patio. While the two have been friends for a while, an eyewitness had this to say about their dinner...
"She was dressed cute but casual, in a black strappy top, jeans and heels," the source tells E!. "Jen was playing with her hair during dinner and seemed nervous and excited. She was listening intently and put on her glasses at one point."

As we suspected, there is no recall planned for the iPhone 4.
That's according to a report in The Wall Street Journal on Thursday afternoon. Apple is holding a press conference on Friday morning to talk about the iPhone 4. There's been much speculation regarding what Apple has planned, but it's widely believed the company will address the growing outcry over the iPhone 4's reported antenna problems.
The Journal added that detail as an update to its previous story, which said that Apple engineers knew of the potential problems with the design of the iPhone 4. The device's antenna is inserted directly into the metal band running around the exterior of the device.
Bloomberg BusinessWeek reported earlier Thursday that Apple CEO Steve Jobs was told by a senior engineer of the pitfalls of the iPhone 4's design, but that he was ignored. Carrier partners were also given little time with the latest model iPhone to do proper testing with it, according to Bloomberg's sources.

We didn't have a ton of details on the so-called HTC Ace when it turned up in a leaked roadmap last week, but a fresh set of rumors are now suggesting that the Ace is actually the Desire HD, which will reportedly pack a number of HD-esque upgrades over the standard Desire. That includes a larger 4.3-inch WVGA screen -- no word if it's AMOLED or SLCD -- and an 8-megapixel camera with 720p video recording. Other rumored details include Android 2.2, 4GB of internal storage, the same 1GHz Snapdragon as the current Desire and, perhaps most interestingly, talk of a "unibody aluminum design." Unfortunately, the rumors still don't include any actual images of the device, but there's still plenty of time for those to leak out before the supposed October release.

Hey Xtina Fans, we’re getting our first look at the video promo for “You Lost Me,” the power ballad featured on the pop star’s latest album, Bionic.
Director Anthony Mandler, who wrote the treatment for the vid, explained the concept in a chat with PopEater this week: “From the first keys of the opening of the track, we know that we are about to watch something that is going to move and transform us. In the end, we’ve traveled through Christina’s world. One that is physical, mental and spiritually charged. Nothing is what it seems. Everything is fractured and evolving, falling away … fragile…”

Yes, it’s true. Sources confirm that Kevin Bacon has joined Matthew Vaughn’s X-Men: First Class cast. Details of his role are being kept under wraps, but sources tell us he will play a villain, sparring against protagonists Charles Xavier, played by James McAvoy, and Magneto, Michael Fassbender’s role. It’s not clear who Bacon’s character is specifically, or how he’ll figure into the X-Men universe, but it will be fun to watch. Deadline Hollywood first reported this last week.
Also joining the team is up-and-comer Jennifer Lawrence who received raves earlier this year for her leading role in the Sundance smash Winter’s Bone. The 19-year old actress will play Mystique, the role originated by Rebecca Romijn in the X-Men trilogy. The Hollywood Reporter first reported this news today.
Twentieth Century Fox declined to comment on either casting addition. Filming is set to begin this summer in London.

Facebook is about to announce that they’ve hit 500 million users — a milestone that cements (as if it hadn’t already) the site’s status as one of the web’s biggest successes ever. Of course, at Facebook’s growth trajectory it hasn’t been a matter of if the social network would be hitting 500 million, but when it would (in fact, the movie poster for the upcoming movie The Social Network uses the 500 million stat in its tagline). Still, it’s finally about to become official. So how do we know?
As part of its celebration, Facebook is apparently asking many of its employees to upload photos of themselves celebrating and giving thanks to users. And all of those photos are being hosted on one Drop.io account. In the interest of not totally raining on their parade I’ll hold off on sharing all the photos (Facebook will undoubtedly make the Drop.io folder private anyway), but we’ve included a couple of them.

We're having a hell of a time believing this, but BusinessInsider's Dan Frommer is citing "a source familiar with the negotiations" as saying that RIM, Google, and Apple -- yes, Apple -- were all in the mix for Palm at one point or another as the bidding war went on earlier this year. We all know how that story ended up playing out, but prior to HP's winning bid, RIM allegedly made a generous offer and could've ultimately come away with the prize had it not failed to re-up the bid (and may have even reduced it, looking at Palm's SEC filings) after HP made its move. For its part, Google apparently made some not-too-serious moves, primarily in a perceived head game with Apple.
Speaking of Apple, the company was said to be in it primarily for Palm's sizable patent portfolio -- but is claimed to have also been interested in keeping the platform alive, possibly in an effort to compete in the physical QWERTY market where the iPhone has not. Of course, if you look way back, it's important to remember that Mac OS X itself is based on outside work (if you consider NeXT "outside"), so we guess that keeping webOS alive in some capacity after an Apple acquisition wouldn't be totally unprecedented -- but it'd still be really, really weird at best.

We don't really like the Droid X as a phone, but that part barely matters now. You probably shouldn't buy the phone because doing so supports something very wrong—something anti-customer and anti-innovation—that Motorola is doing.
According to a forum of Android modders, as pointed out by MobileCrunch, the Droid X is locked down with an authentication chip called an eFuse. Even if you aren't a hardcore techie, you can grasp what it does.
The eFuse is there to verify what's called a bootloader—the very first process to load filled with important stuff encompassing the core software of the phone, like firmware. And if the eFuse doesn't see specific, pre-programmed code within Motorola's guidelines, it will essentially short out and the Droid X will cease to function at all. (To resuscitate the phone, you'd need specialized hardware only found at Motorola.)

Channel is the favorite of all ladies and also the counterfeit market. Although they don't buy fake Chanel, but in many office ladies' closet there are still Channel-styled jacket. In Episode 6 of idol drama "Summer's Desire," Huang Xiao Ming (plays Luo Xi) carefully put a blanket on Barbie Hsu (plays Xiao Mo). Lately some viewers contacted GTV, expressing they couldn't find this Channel logo blanket in the counter; they wonder where they can buy it? After investigation, it's confirmed the crew bought it from night market and it's a counterfeit.
"Summer's Desire" features showbiz as its story background. Huang Xiao Ming and Barbie are big stars and their accessories and outfits are real designer brands. In real life, Barbie is also a fashionista. Would she feel embarrassed of putting on a fake Channel product? Yesterday her manager expressed, during filming she couldn't possibly pay attention to the blanket. Artiste's responsibility is to focus in their performances. If the blanket is fake, should ask the crew for more details.

New York Senator Charles Schumer (D) has written an open letter to Apple’s CEO Steve Jobs asking for a quick and transparent fix for the iPhone 4’s antenna woes. Citing the Consumer Reports report from several days ago, Schumer’s letter also asks for “a written explanation of the formula it uses to calculate bar strength.” We’ve got the full letter for your scrutiny after the bounce.
One of our reliable Apple connections (not Jason Burford) just let us know some pretty fantastic news. It’s been widely assumed that Apple will start to roll out their FaceTime real-time communication protocol to more and more of their mobile devices (and possibly their computers), but until now, we’ve been in the dark on how this will actually work. After all, there are no phone numbers to call on an iPod touch or iPad. Here is how we have been told FaceTime will work on non-iPhone devices:
