Katy Perry looks plastic fantastic in latex as reveals she reveals plans to become a Brit

Katy Perry could have been living by the lyrics to 'I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream' in Germany last night.

The 25-year-old singer stepped out in a crowd-pleasing, figure-hugging latex number covered in ice cream cones as she performed at the Postbahnhof Arena in Berlin.

Perry, who is well-known for her cartoon character style, accessorised the sexy look with striped peep-toe Chanel wedge boots and a knuckle duster adorned with Gummi Bears.

But this is by no means the first time the I Kissed A Girl singer has appeared in latex, which is perfect for showing off her gym-honed figure.

In July, for promotional pictures for her Teenage Dream album, she posed in a PVC two-piece and a bright blue wig, and in June she performed in New York wearing a green latex halter-neck dress covered in palm trees.

During the World Cup she also appeared on James Cordon's chat show in a PVC dress decorated with both the British and American flags to celebrate the England vs USA match.

Justin Bieber on high with album sale and movie

Teenage heartthrob Justin Bieber is on cloud nine these days as his 4 million albums have been sold worldwide in less than a year. Bieber’s Madison Square Garden has also been sold out.

Bieber has now sold 3.2 million copies of his ‘My World’ (released last November) and ‘My World 2.0’ (March) in the US, plus 7.7 million songs digitally downloaded, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Madison Square Garden was a big milestone. Justin is a kid who grew up in public housing with a single mom. He always said selling out the Garden was his dream," the New York Post quoted his manager, Scooter Braun, as saying.

Bieber's also been shooting a movie of his life story, and celebrities - including Miley Cyrus, Usher, Snoop Dogg and Adrian Grenier, who all attended his MSG show - will appear in the film due out in February.

"It's a real rags-to-riches story, and shows where Justin came from and the hard work that got him to where he is now,” added Braun.

Apple to up iPad production to meet demand

Generally when a device is hard to buy in stores it’s due to higher popularity. Once you can walk in and buy whatever gadget you are wanting in the store it generally signals that the device isn’t as popular as it was at one point. However, when it comes to the iPad availability doesn’t mean low demand.

According to analyst Katy Huberty from Morgan Stanly, Apple is set to pump production of its iPad up to 3 million units per month during the holiday shopping season. That will be an increase for the 2 million units per month Apple is already building.

The 2 million unit per month mark was able to get that once long shipping delay at the Apple store down to 24-hour ship time. Apple is still selling all of the devices it builds. Some analysts expect Apple to sell every iPad they build even at 3 million per month and expectations are that Apple could ship as many as 10 million iPads this year alone.

Samsung excuses absence of Super AMOLED on Galaxy Tab with Super TFT (video)

A Super AMOLED 7-inch tablet was highly unlikely to ever materialize in a marketable form, but that didn't stop many of us from dreaming about one. Consequently, there was palpable disappointment when Samsung failed to deliver on our unicorn hallucinations with the Galaxy Tab, but the company says not to worry. The Tab's 7 inches of glorious visuals are being handled by a Super TFT panel, surely the Korean company's answer to Sony's Super LCD. It's a screen technology that has been developed "alongside" Super AMOLED and just so happens to offer better battery performance and an obvious saving in cost. We're usually inclined to consider such moves cynical marketing ploys -- keep the Super branding, drop the actual super hardware -- but the SLCD display on the HTC Desire gives us faith that perhaps TFTs really can be souped up. Jolin Tsai upset about diva rumours

Mando-pop princess Jolin Tsai has admitted Sunday that she was very upset about the ceaseless rumours that have surrounded her of late, in a series of posts on her micro-blogging account, reported Chinese media.

After recently being accused of trying to generate publicity for her new album "Agent J" by revealing details of her split from superstar ex-boyfriend Jay Chou, the singer was accused of diva-like behaviour at the recording of a Chinese variety show in Shanghai last week.

"Honestly speaking, having been pricked (by the negative reports) for so long, claiming that I am unscathed would be a lie. I don't even know where the strength to carry on, to laugh at all the rumours, comes from.

"Just like the way you (rumour mongers) are trying to test the limits before I break down, I am also testing just how much I can take," Tsai, 29, wrote in a post.

The news came to light after the variety show's host Cao Ke Fan recently complained on his micro blog account that Tsai's assistant had been very rude during the show and set three conditions before Tsai was allowed to perform.

Wu Chun flares up on film set

Even the most mild-mannered person has a temper.

Known for being highly patient, pop idol Wu Chun reached his limits when it came to matters of his family.

According to reports, Wu Chun flew into a rage on the set of his new drama Sunshine Angel.

Wu Chun's dad had dropped by the set to visit his son. The pair had lots to catch up but their reunion was interrupted when the drama's crew kept rushing Wu Chun to start work, making him annoyed.

In response to the incident, the filial son explained that he had flown into a fury as he's had little time to spend with his dad, who had specially made a trip from Brunei to visit him.

"(My) work schedule was packed, so my dad came to Taiwan to visit me. He stayed in my house for four days, yet we only spoke for less than half an hour. It's an exaggeration to say that I flew into a rage, but honestly, I wasn't in the best of mood."

Wu Chun also added that he has not had a chance to return to Brunei ever since his debut on the silver screens. Even hopes of a proper reunion with his father were dashed when he was stuck filming in Taiwan, Yilan for three days during his father's visit.

Louboutins on the BEACH? High-maintenance Kate Beckinsale shows off her bikini body in Malibu

For most of us, it's flip flops, last year's saggy swimming costume and a plastic shopping bag as a carry-all at the beach.

But for Hollywood star Kate Beckinsale, a day on the sand is a far more glamorous affair.

The stylish sun-worshiper donned a glamorous wide-brimmed hat and a gold trimmed bikini to spend the American Labour Day weekend at a beach in Malibu.

But even most A-list millionaires would think twice before wearing a pair of coveted Christian Louboutin shoes on to the sand.

The Underworld actress tottered about in a pair of the designer wedges, which cost approximately £350.

Kate was joined by her husband, director Len Wiseman, and her 11-year-old daughter Lily Sheen at the beach, where they built sand castles and lounged on deck chairs.

Apple sucks at Photoshop too

Ladies and gentlemen, presenting the new fourth-generation iPod touch: it's so much like an iPhone that it has a Phone app (wait, what?). Better yet, if you do a Spotlight search on it, it'll return results from a messaging app it's not supposed to have. How's that for value? This would all be a great big enigmatic mystery if we weren't ourselves familiar with the practice (and pitfalls) of splicing disparate images into unholy creations. Well, at least now Microsoft isn't alone in making self-published Photoshop gaffes.

P.S. -- There's one more misplaced app on this magical device, but we'll let you figure it out for yourself!

ExoPC preorders open to all from CAD $649, tablet loses GPS but gains SanDisk SSD

First the good news, for those who've waited months to get their paws on that 11.6-inch multitouch capacitive screen: there's no longer anything stopping you from dropping a stack of change on the Windows 7-wielding ExoPC. Originally restricted to the first 1,200 dedicated fans, preorders are now open to all, with the 32GB tablet setting you back CAD $649 (about $624) and the 64GB version CAD $749 (about $720), with both models featuring up-to-160MB/s fast SanDisk P4 mini-SSDs and up to four hours of battery life. The bad news is that you'll no longer find GPS on that 64GB model, as the prototype didn't pan out, and we're afraid that September 30th ship date has already slid back to October 15th. Take a gander at our hands-on preview (or better yet, wait for our review) if you've yet to make your mind up.

Ethan Ruan rumoured to wed girlfriend within a year

Food may be the way to a man's heart, but a new house could be the way into one's future parents-in-law's good books.

Popular Taiwanese actor Ethan Ruan is reportedly planning to buy a new home for girlfriend Tiffany Hsu's family, in hopes of getting her parent's approval for her hand in marriage within a year.

In response to the rumour, Ethan did not give a definitive answer, only stating that he "would get married someday."

So is he planning marrying Tiffany Hsu?

"That would be good! But the future is full of uncertainties; I wouldn't dare to confirm that."

According to reports, Ethan had already bought a TWD 20,000,000 (SGD 1,000,000) love nest to co-habit with Tiffany, and he is planning to spend another TWD 5,000,000 (SGD 250,000) for his girlfriend's parents' new abode.

Bosco Wong & Ron Ng join the 'injured' group

Following TVB's Siu Sang King Raymond Lam being admitted to the hospital due to cervical displacement, yesterday Bosco Wong and Ron Ng both join the injured group. Both of them were injured one after the other while filming for Female Fist. Along with Kenny Wong's earlier broken finger, TVB Siu Sangs are in some disaster.

The day before, Raymond was filming for new series Colorful World of Sister Fa and because of his neck pains, he was admitted to the hospital. He was unable to attend the Growing Through Life promotion yesterday. Bosco was also unable to attend the promotion because of his injury. Damien Lau, Cecilia Yip, Toby Leung, Vivien Yeo and Dominic Lam had to lead the promotion.

The time of her life! Britney Spears looks happy and healthy in a candy-stripe bikini

Britney Spears looked as if she was having the best holiday ever this weekend as she debuted a brand new pink and white bikini in Hawaii.

The 28-year-old is enjoying an long break in Maui with boyfriend Jason Trawick.

And she looked stunningly toned and tanned as she hit the beach in the sexy bikini and a pair of Daisy Dukes.

Trawick, 44, clearly had a hard time keep his eyes off his sexy girlfriend.

The Circus star has been working hard to maintain her stunning new figure.

She was recently spotted doing a dance-based workout on board a boat while on holiday.

And the exercise is keeping the mother-of-two in excellent shape.

Britney and Jason, who have been dating for over a year, are staying at the Grand Wailea Maui in a suite overlooking the ocean.

Ooh, la, la! Miley Cyrus goes sightseeing in Paris... in a white vest exposing her lacy bra

Miley Cyrus stepped out in Paris wearing a revealing white vest top that left very little to the imagination.

Despite her still young age, she seems intent on shedding her teenybopper image as fast as possible, and stepped out in gay Paree in vest that exposed her lacy bra.

Wearing black trousers, a baggy white vest and a Chanel purse, Miley looked pretty grungy, and less than chic.

Maybe she was unaware that Paris is the world's fashion capital, as she clearly made little effort to appear fashionable.

Later however, it seems she had a change of heart and decided modesty was the best policy , covering up in a grey T-shirt.

The actress is very popular in France after she was swarmed by fans when she left her hotel room earlier today.

Samsung suggests Galaxy Tab will cost between $200 and $400 -- also coming to Vodafone

Early reports indicate Europe will pay a pretty penny for Samsung's Galaxy Tab, but the 7-inch tablet may cost a good bit less when it comes to US shores -- the Wall Street Journal paraphrases a Samsung executive who claims it could run between $200 and $300 depending on the all-important carrier subsidies. The Korea Times, meanwhile, suggests a $300 to $400 retail price according to a different Samsung bigwig, who added that the Tab "will cost slightly more than the Galaxy S smartphone." As you're probably aware, Sammy's Galaxy S typically retails for about $200 in the US -- excepting Sprint's Epic 4G at $250 -- so if you held a bursting Li-ion battery to our head and forced us to guess, we'd say the latter range of dollar signs is far more likely.

By the way, Vodafone shows the Galaxy Tab as "coming soon." Hit our more coverage links for details.

Rainie Yang promotes 3D scary movie in Venice

Rainie Yang recently traveled to Italy to take part in the 67th Venice Film Festival. She, along with costar Elanne Kwong and director Oxide Pang, screened their movie “The Child’s Eye 3D” out of competition. It is the first film from Hong Kong to be shot and post-produced with 3D technology. The “scare” factor significantly increased with lively ghosts that looked as if they were reaching out for the audience.

In “The Child’s Eye 3D”, Rainie Yang and Shawn Yue play a couple was on the verge of breakup. They went to Bangkok for vacation with friends, but ended up staying in a hotel that was haunted. Shawn Yue and others began to disappear one by one, so it was up to Rainie Yang to save them with a dog that has the ability to see ghosts.

It was the first time Rainie Yang has done a 3D movie, but she said the experience is not much different from a traditional one. Director Pang asked her to play her character in a life-like yet reserved style. Rainie Yang also learned to use her breathing and gaze to express fear without screaming. But she revealed she in fact gets scared easily, and hopes she will never encounter any supernatural events in real life.

Move over Emma Peel! Keira Knightley channels The Avengers in a slinky catsuit for her new Chanel ad

Perhaps Keira Knightley should be adding Avengers character Emma Peel to her acting resume.

The actress seemed to be channelling the legendary spy character as she filmed a new Chanel advertisement in Paris.

Even in an unflattering beige motorcycle helmet, the star looked stunning in the figure hugging beige catsuit and matching boots - designed by the revered fashion house.

And the 25-year-old looked like she was concentrating hard as she mounted a matching vintage motorbike for this afternoon's shoot.

The actress has been the celebrity face of the French Fashion House since 2006.

Diana Rigg played Emma Peel from 1965 -1968 in the spy-fi TV show which revolved around the adventures of impeccably dressed British secret agent John Steed (Patrick Macnee).

Not so wizard: Newly cropped Emma Watson looks dowdy as she shops with model brother

Going shopping with your sister can be a trial for any brother - and it appears it is no different even if she is a top British actress.

Harry Potter star Emma Watson was spotted getting some retail therapy in London in the trendy Spitalfields Market last week before flying out to the US.

Her brother Alex accompanied the actress ahead of Emma's return to university in Rhode Island, dutifully lending a hand as she perused some shoes in Office.

He manfully carried the bags as his 20-year-old sister looked to splash the cash, apparently on a new pair of trainers.

Judging by the vast yellow bag he was clutching, they had also visited vintage warehouse Beyond Retro which is renowned for its huge collection of unique clothes.

Is Android Only Surging Because Apple Is Letting It?

This weekend, I’ve been catching up on some reading. One post that was of particular interest to me was David Beach’s article from last week about developing for Android. Beach, who is a product manager at eBay Mobile and a co-founder of 12seconds, basically says that the experience sucks for a number of reasons (all of which Google can fix, but will take quite a bit of work and time). But one quote in particular stuck out to me:

Android has succeeded despite Google. In fact it’s safe to say that Android is successful for one primary reason. The iPhone is only available on AT&T. If the iPhone was on Verizon a year ago. Android would be no where near as popular.

Obviously, Beach isn’t the first person to bring this idea up. But he brings it up in a way that he’s able to back-up his feelings from a developers’ perspective, while at the same time roping in what isn’t ideal from a consumer perspective about Android as well.

Jerry Yan appears at Material Queen press con with Van Ness Wu

A press event was held for Material Queen to officially introduce Van Ness Wu as its new leading man. Fellow F4 Jerry Yan made a surprise appearance after dropping out of the drama several days ago. It was impossible for him to keep a low-profile despite wearing casual clothes and a cap, but he did look like he wasn’t feeling very well. Producer Chen Yu Shan later explained that Jerry has been suffering from immune system problems, but the cause of his illness is still unknown.

Chen Yu Shan and director Chen Hui Ling got Van Ness Wu to sign on within 24 hours after they lost Jerry Yan. On the replacement casting, director Chen clarified, “I didn't invite (Van Ness Wu) to act, but rather to play the right role.” Van Ness Wu said he accepted the offer a day after getting her call on 27th, “I’ve had wanted to act (in this drama), but didn’t insist on it, maybe God heard my voice, it’s fate.” The press also asked if he is concerned about his height, since costar Lynn Xiong is 178 cm tall. Van Ness Wu responded, “Even Jay Chou can act alongside Lin Chi-ling, what should I be afraid of?”

Is It Creepy to Speculate About Justin Bieber's Love Life?

Anyone out there who has a teenage son or even a little brother can understand some of the revulsion I feel each time I read about Justin Bieber's love life in the entertainment press.

Is he dating Kim Kardashian? Did Miley Cyrus steal him from Kim? Yuck! I most certainly hope not on both accounts since Justin is just 16.

If the Biebs were a young lady celebrity, we would be pairing her up with older male celebs, but the standards seem to be different since he is a boy.

But that doesn't make it any less creepy that cadres of editors, most of whom are well into their forties with children of their own at home, are making claims about the libidinous pursuits of a child.

Kate Hudson: The Fewer Clothes the Better

Kate Hudson may rock some high-octane looks on the red carpet, but she prefers a more relaxed vibe when it comes to her everyday attire. “My personal style has never changed,” she tells Elle UK in its October issue, adding: “I love comfortable clothes and a lot of accessories.” In fact, the fewer clothes the better, says the actress and mom, who took time out from her Tuscan vacation with six-year-old son Ryder and British rock star boyfriend Matt Bellamy, to pose for the magazine’s cover. “I don’t like clothes that constrict me. It’s like, would you like to put some clothes on? No, I wouldn’t!” But one thing she’ll happily pile on? Her coveted accessories, especially her mom’s jewelry gifts. “For my birthday this year, she made me a gold necklace with a comedy/tragedy mask pendant. It has a little diamond as the tear,” she says. Claiming not to splurge on sartorial investments, Hudson says she does like to buy nice furniture like “chairs and lamps” and has one particular cabinet which is very close to her heart, as it’s full of her favorite scarves…Hermès scarves. “I have nearly 200 and I buy them all over some new, some from eBay, some from weird little places. I have a cabinet that I lay them out in. I love them they’re so beautifully made.”

Detective Dee brings Tang Dynasty whodunnit to Venice

Hong Kong's Tsui Hark unveiled his latest blockbuster, a Tang Dynasty whodunnit, at the Venice film festival on Sunday while Kelly Reichardt cast her feminine eye on the Wild West in "Meek's Cutoff".

Tsui's "Detective Dee and the Mystery of Phantom Flame" filled the screen at the Lido with kung fu action, intrigue and period atmospherics as Detective Dee (Andy Lau) investigates threats to seventh-century Empress Wu Zetian's rise to power.

The Vietnamese-born Tsui was not exaggerating when he told a news conference: "We tried to create a complex woven plot to really grab the audience, especially with that twist at the end.... You don't know who the murderer is until the very end, unlike other films in the genre."

Reichardt meanwhile put her focus on another woman, the faceless drudge who kept body and soul together with hard work on the monotonous trek out West along the Oregon Trail in mid-19th century America.

The idea for the film came from an unexpected quarter: the post-September 11 policies of US president George W. Bush, Reichardt said.

PS3 jailbreak adapted to Nokia N900, Palm Pre in wake of Australian ban (video)

Two weeks ago you'd have to pay an Australian importer for a specialized USB key. Four days ago open-source software let you roll your own. Today, there's no need for any of that -- you can hack your PS3 with a tethered smartphone. Working closely with the PSGroove team, hacker Kakaroto adapted the same jailbreak to the Nokia N900, and the open-source community lost no time porting it to the Palm Pre as well. If the videos after the break are any indication, both versions work just as well as the original, and you too can get your game on with downloads and detailed instructions at the source links below.

THE AMERICAN Slices Past MACHETE with $12.9 Million

Attendance picked up on Saturday after a typically slow start to the Labor Day weekend on Friday. George Clooney’s The American was able to pull ahead of fellow newcomer Machete, resulting in a clear weekend win for the understated action movie.

The estimates for the top two new releases of the weekend – The American and Machete – were so close on Friday that it is still debatable which film came out on top. But who cares about Friday at this point? It’s the weekend winner who gets to tack that all important “Number One Film in America” line onto their TV spots, after all.

And it looks like that honor will go to The American. With an estimated $12.9 million through Sunday, Clooney’s American was able to slip past Robert Rodriguez’s Machete – though again, the difference we’re talking about here is fairly negligible.
