Photos taken by the Google Nexus S spotted on Picasa

A trio of photos reportedly taken by the Google Nexus S have been spotted on Picasa. The shots are obviously test photos taken by someone analyzing the camera performance of the upcoming Android device. All three photos were taken between November 5th and 6th and were uploaded to a specific test account and album on Google’s Picasa photo service. As of the writing of this post, that album is still available to the public.

The test photos reveal very little about camera or phone functionality, but the upload resolutions for all three photos (2560×1920 pixels) suggest the Nexus S will sport a 5-megapixel camera, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S. This resolution also jives with the latest Nexus S rumored specs that broke late last week.

Katy Perry goes for a demure look for Paul O'Grady as she admits she 'can't help' bossing husband Russell Brand around

She's been married for less than a month but it seems the balance of power in the Katy Perry Russell Brand relationship is already firmly established.

The 26-year-old star said yesterday she 'can't help' bossing her new husband around, and being in control is just part of her personality.

The Firework singer made the admission as she launched her debut perfume at London's Selfridges yesterday.

She said: 'I am overly, compulsively and obsessively in charge of everything. I can't help it, it's just how I am!'

After a busy day promoting the new scent Purr, Katy made a quick change from the vibrant purple outfit she wore during the morning to head over for an interview on Paul O'Grady Live.

Following the interview, Katy left the studios wearing a classy black dress with a warm black winter coat on over the top.

But, being the glamazon she is, Katy decided to team her outfit with a pair of red sparkly sandals.

And, now she is married to a Brit, Katy opted to show her support for Remembrance Day by wearing a large red poppy.

'Unstoppable' speeds away with $8.1 mil on Friday

Unstoppable takes its title very seriously, as the Fox runaway-train film led the box office on Friday by grossing $8.1 million, according to early estimates. The result should give star Denzel Washington his eighth debut of at least $20 million in nine films, even though the $85 million action film fell short of the opening days of his last two projects, The Book of Eli ($11.7 million) and The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3 ($8.2 million). Also, although Unstoppable was No. 1 on Friday, it’ll likely finish the weekend second to DreamWorks Animation’s Megamind, which tallied $7.9 million on Friday for a drop of 37 percent. Megamind will benefit from kids being out of school on Saturday and Sunday — last weekend, the animated superhero comedy soared 64 percent on Saturday. As a result, expect Megamind to finish the weekend with about $29 million and Unstoppable to pull into the station with around $23 million.

In third place was the Robert Downey Jr. and Zach Galifianakis comedy Due Date, which fell 55 percent for $5.5 million, and should conclude the weekend with about $16 million. Skyline landed a bit softer than I was expecting — the alien-invasion thriller sucked up $4.7 million on Friday to settle into fourth place. That figure suggest a weekend total of about $13 million, which is right in line with Universal’s hopes for the Brothers Strause film. I thought it’d earn closer to $20 million, but with a budget of only $10 million, Skyline will still be a success story. Fifth place went to the workplace comedy Morning Glory, which attracted $3.1 million. The Rachel McAdams movie should transition from the weekend with just under $10 million. Check back here on Sunday for the complete box office report.

1. Unstoppable — $8.1 mil
2. Megamind — $7.9 mil
3. Due Date — $5.5 mil
4. Skyline — $4.7 mil
5. Morning Glory — $3.1 mil

HP Slate 500 sees 'extraordinary demand,' experiences six-week shipping delay

Yes, the HP Slate 500 is officially backordered, less than a month after its enterprising debut, and Hewlett-Packard claims it's because of "extraordinary demand," a phrase that's presently not quantifiable. The long and short of it, though, is that you're not getting one by Yuletide if you purchase the pricey portable today, as you'll have to wait six weeks until they're ready to ship out. Still, if your budding business bought in on day one, there's still a chance it might arrive in time -- ours is due to our door in early December, if that gives you any idea. We've pinged HP for comment, and hope to hear back soon. We'll be sure to let you know just how "extraordinary" those sales numbers might be.

Netflix headed to 'select Android devices' early next year

Netflix has always been something of a fickle beast, lavishing treats upon just one platform at a time, but now that iOS, Windows Phone 7 and every game console under the sun are streaming its video, the firm's finally turned its gaze on Android. Come early 2011, Netflix will appear on "select Android devices," according to the company's official blog, which also promises a "standard, platform-wide solution" for Android in the unspecified future. What took so long, and why will Netflix be limited to particular handsets when it first rolls out? "The hurdle has been the lack of a generic and complete platform security and content protection mechanism available for Android," says the blog, stating piracy concerns. Apparently content holders aren't too keen on making movies available unless devices have DRM baked right in, so the solution is equip new phones with padlocks one at a time. Expect next year's high-end Android devices to have "Netflix" as a nice big bullet point.

Zooey Deschanel As Betty Brant In “Spider-Man” Prequel?

Zooey Deschanel is being considered for the role of sexy secretary Betty Brant — a role originated by Elizabeth Banks — in the forthcoming Spider-Man prequel.

“Betty was a minor character in the previous Spidey movies, but Marc has big plans for her. He wants a strong performer to carry the role, and Zooey fits the bill perfectly. The role is hers if she wants it.”

Disney Gives Demi Lovato a Break, Tries Sonny With a Chance Without Sonny

How to get a show back on the road when its star is sidelined?

Though Demi Lovato's foray into treatment to get help for emotional and physical issues happened to coincide with a planned hiatus from Sonny With a Chance, the Disney Channel has come up with a way to keep the plot rolling without Sonny herself.

Just in case.

According to Variety, producers will focus the sitcom's plot on the show-within-a-show, So Random!, on which newcomer Sonny is just one of the bunch, when shooting on season three gets underway in January.

The idea isn't entirely out of left field: One "episode" of So Random! already aired Oct. 17 as a stand-alone special, the network was pleased with its performance, and another one is slated for later this month.

But this doesn't mean Lovato is for sure not returning to her show by January. This is more of a contingency plan, according to the network.

"This allows her the time she needs to get well, without distraction or pressure," a Disney Channel spokeswoman told Variety. "Again, we extend our ongoing support to Demi and her family as she works to overcome personal issues."

Google's gingerbread Androids are fully baked, can the OS be far behind?

Continuing with our cookery theme this morning, we now have a full tray of scrumptious-looking gingerbread Android men, courtesy of Google Mobile's Twitter account. The whole world and his poodle already know that Gingerbread, Android's next iterative update that's presently expected to be given the numerical identifier of 2.3, is coming some time soon, but now Google's taken to fanning the flames of anticipation with some home cooking. What could it mean? Well, if you're an optimist, it means Android's about to receive its update imminently, but if you're a pessimist, you'll look at that Christmas-themed red and green attire and foretell of another month of waiting and thumb-twiddling. Either way, though, this seems to confirm Gingerbread is on track to land at some point before we welcome in 2011. Which can only be a good thing.

Windows Phone 7 beats iPhone 4 and Android ... in a grilling contest (video)

Let's face it, it's a question the world's been dying to know the answer to: which of the T-Mobile G2, HTC Surround and iPhone 4 will withstand a (literal) grilling the longest? Well, just in time for a mildly singed breakfast today, we have the answer. As you might have surmised from the title, HTC's WP7-equipped Surround showed the most endurance, though in the end it too cashed out its Earthly credits and moved on to that great scrapyard in the sky. Video of its final moments awaits after the break.

JYJ brings down the house in New York City!

They’ve become musical gods in Korea, broken records in Japan, vacationed in Paris, and toured China, Thailand, Malaysia, and Japan. Their foray into the global market was launched last month with the debut album “The Beginning“, which surpassed the half million mark in pre-orders with the luxury edition easily selling out in less than a week. So it should come as no surprise that the ever-grandeur Hammerstein Ballroom was bursting at the seams tonight as JYJ took the stage in the heart of New York City, launching the JYJ World Tour, their first American showcase tour in front of 3,400 ecstatic fans.

Jaejoong, Yoochun, and Junsu are no strangers when it comes to pleasing a crowd; after all, they’ve been on the music scene for over seven years and have been part of seven tours. And it’s definitely paid off – the turnout for JYJ’s first flesh-and-blood appearance in New York City was overwhelming. It would be an understatement to label the wait outside of the venue to simply be a “line around the block.” Imagine a crowd of human sardines that takes up ten feet of sidewalk in width, barricaded by metal fences on the verge of tipping over in certain places. Extend that image by a few avenue blocks and you get the idea. Some hardcore Cassiopeians reportedly camped out the night before (they were eventually turned away… then eventually returned around 6AM); others traveled from all over the East Coast just to see these three stars in person. And hello, after the hack job by Tinsel PR and Entitled Entertainment, the concert became free and “first come first serve” – who could pass up an opportunity like that?

Raymond Lam falls down & hurt, Charmaine Sheh gives attentive care; Both exaggerates in their acting

Charmaine Sheh and Raymond Lam are one of the most popular candidates for this year's TVB Anniversary Awards. Charmaine depends on Can't Buy Me Love to compete with the Sheren Tang from No Regrets, while Raymond depends on The Mysteries of Love to compete with Can't Buy Me Love's Moses Chan and No Regrets' Wayne Lai. Recently, Charmaine and Raymond collaborated in TVB's new series Colorful World of Sister Fa. Though the series ended last week and drunk violence occurred between Pierre Ngo and Sin Ho Ying at the end-of-filming party, but the other day when Charmaine and Raymond were making up a scene for Sister Fa, the two were in very good moods and didn't keep the incident in mind.

The other day, Charmaine went all the way to Tai Hang with Raymond and the Sister Fa crew to make up the shooting of a scene. They were chatting as they walked to the set, where Charmaine was making lots of silly expressions on the way, looks like she's having a great time with Raymond and the crew. Perhaps, she knows the award is hers, so is in an especially good mood.

Micky Yoochun dishes on TVXQ, JYJ, and future ambitions

“Lyricist, producer, singer, actor – I want to be good at it all.”

Stephen Chow has a young new lover

Forty-nine-year-old Stephen Chow has no lack of love.

Soon after his high profile break-up with long-time girlfriend Yu Wenfeng, Stephen is reportedly dating 21-year-old Kama Lo, a Hong Kong catalogue model.

The pair rumoured to be seeing each other for over three months now, had been photographed donning couple wear and working at Hong Kong's Cyber Port.

Stephen was previously in a 10-year-long relationship with Wenfeng until she decided to call it off with the actor-director after he refused to give her a proper status. It was believed that his mother was not on good terms with Wenfeng.

Wenfeng is the youngest daughter of Yu Jingbo, founder of Kumagai Gumi, a construction firm in Hong Kong. She has always had a keen eye for business, helping Stephen bring in over HKD2billion ($330mil) in property sales.
