Looks like there will be more life for fan favorite bubble series One Tree Hill and Life Unexpected! Rumors are swirling that both series will get half seasons on the CW's 2010-11 lineup, and a well-placed insider just told me:
"It isn't yet official, but it sure looks like it."
The CW will announce its fall schedule—and the status of these two shows—this Thursday.
Meanwhile, I just ran into OTH newlywed superstar Danneel Harris, who hit the NBC press line here at the New York upfronts to promote her new series, Friends With Benefits, just two days after marrying Supernatural hottie Jensen Ackles.

We've already seen Motorola's market share slip a bit when it comes to US cellphone shipments, and it looks like the news is even worse for the company on a global scale. According to iSuppli's latest numbers -- which back up some earlier reports -- while worldwide cellphone shipments rose a healthy 13.8 percent in the first quarter of 2010, Motorola slipped from sixth to eighth spot in the global rankings, selling a total of 8.5 million phones compared to 14.7 million during the same period a year earlier. As you can see in the helpful chart above (with sales indicated in thousands), Motorola's loss came largely at the expense of considerable gains from market leaders Nokia and Samsung, with LG, RIM and Apple also seeing some smaller but significant gains. And, yes, this news also means that Motorola is also now in a neck and neck race with ZTE, for what it's worth.

Well, well, well, look what we have here. No, it’s not some Chinese knockoff of the Desire — it’s the entry-level Wildfire, announced today by HTC. Running Android 2.1 with HTC Sense UI, its key specs include a 3.2″ QVGA display, 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and LED flash, A-GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR, microSD, dual-band (900/2100MHz) 7.2Mbps HSPA, 512MB ROM / 384MB RAM and 528MHz processor. One interesting feature the Wildfire brings to the table is its “app sharing widget” which allows users to recommend apps to family, friend and peers via email, SMS and social networking sites. The HTC Wildfire will be available in Europe and Asia starting in Q3. No word yet on potential U.S. availability. Yay or nay?
Apple’s fourth-generation iPhone (more commonly known as the iPhone 4G) hasn’t even been officially announced but it looks to be Apple’s worst-kept secret. With two leaks showcasing it and its current involvement in a criminal investigation, it’s getting a lot of publicity that Apple won’t be able to get anywhere else.
But just how interested will the consumers really be when it finally comes out in June, when Apple fully unveils it and releases it to the market? DigiTimes Research cites sources in Taiwan and says Foxconn will ship 24 million units of the much-talked about phone starting in June. That’s 24 million chances buyers will have to grab the upcoming iPhone.
DigiTimes senior analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, who relayed the numbers for the DigiTimes Research report, mentioned a few other things about Apple’s next iPhone. Its display will use an IPS panel with FFS (fringe-field switching) technology, which allows a wider viewing angle and clearer visual quality under in sunlight, apparently as part of Apple’s move to improve the iPhone’s performance as an e-book reading device and further increase adoption of its iBooks store.

We just got our hands on Wi-FI Sync and guess what? It actually works -- fancy that! For those of you out of the loop, Apple recently rejected this gem of an app (go figure), but thanks to the magic of jailbreaking, that was hardly the end of the road. Days later, Wi-Fi Sync ended up on Cydia (Mac-only, for now) with a completely-affordable price tag of $9.99, promising iPhone and iPod touch users the ability to sync their device with iTunes sans any cabling whatsoever. Since we're notoriously lazy when it comes to actually plugging in our phones and syncing, we fired up the program on our jailbroken 3GS in order to see exactly what the law-abiders in attendance were missing out on.

We’re not 100% sure when it popped up first, but Google has seemingly updated the Android Market website. Don’t pee your pants just yet – they’ve apparently merely shuffled some things around along with other layout changes. Still no search, still no way to download apps OTA, still no statistics of any kind.
On the bright side, the interface is more straightforward than it used to be. You can see a screenshot of the ‘old’ UI in this post, in which Jason Kincaid rightly calls for an Android Market desktop client – as you can tell the new website makes it a tad easier to browse different categories for both free and paid apps.
Google being Google, I’m really surprised the new website still lacks search functionality.
