Jolin Tsai’s new album comes with 3 preorder gifts

Sold separately of course!

Jolin Tsai’s new album is now officially titled Myself after much controversy surrounding the ones previously announced. It started off with “Vogue” before being changed to “Vogueing”, which was heavily criticized for spelling the word with an extra “e”. Warner Music defended the term and said it derived from “Vogue” + “ing”, as in it’s “happening now”. Regardless of voguing or vogueing, they found out the word “Vogue” was already registered, so the title was changed (yet again) to avoid possible infringement issues.

Jolin is known for creating hot topics every time she releases a new album, but contrary to the past, her record company has revealed very little information up to this point. They only announced that her first single “Honey Trap (美人計)” will feature a “Voguing” style dance routine, which was choreographed by famous dance instructors Ahn Hyung Suk and Benjamin Ninja.

Angelina Jolie on Brad Pitt: We Have Each Other's Backs

Yes, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt can work a red carpet like no other star couple. But at home with six kids all under the age of 9, the pair are content just to be Mom and Dad.

"Brad's an extraordinary father," Jolie, 35, tells PEOPLE in this week's issue. "We have each other's backs."

The teamwork of the actress and Pitt, 46, comes in handy when dealing with settling differences between kids Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, Zahara, 5, Shiloh, 4, and 2-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne, says Jolie.

"They can't go behind one [parent] to the other,” she says. "Not one of us is softer than the other."

The actress, whose new political thriller Salt opens Friday, also talks about tackling her own stunts in the film. "I happen to like heights, so we found moments where I can use that," she says.

One thing that does scare her: the idea of her kids becoming teenagers.

"I break out into a sweat at just the thought."

Jennifer Aniston looks bow-tiful as she launches debut perfume at Harrods in pretty nude dress

Cheerio!

Fans got a glimpse -- and a pleasant sniff -- of Jennifer Aniston in London on Wednesday. The 41-year-old star stopped by the British capital's famed Harrods department store to launch her very first fragrance, now called Jennifer Aniston.

(When the Falic Group scent was announced earlier this year, its name was "Lolavie," which roughly translates to "laughing at life" in French; of the name change, an insider explains to Us that "the market was getting confused with 'Lolavie' and Marc Jacobs' scent 'Lola.'"

Microsoft confirms Windows Phone 7 launch partners: HTC, Samsung, LG, Dell and Asus

We kind of already knew which hardware manufacturers plan to be the first to release Windows Phone 7 devices, but it’s good to see a confirmation from Microsoft.

Greg Sullivan, the company’s senior product manager, has recently talked to Pocket-lint, saying that HTC, Samsung, LG, Dell and Asus will all have WP7 handsets at launch.

Some of the handsets available on day one could be the LG Panther (pictured below), Dell Lightning, HTC Mondrian and HTC Mozart.

Mr. Sullivan also mentioned something about an LG Pacific – but it’s not clear if this is a completely new WP7 handset from the South Korean company, or just the Panther under a different name.

Now 55% Of Androids Eating Eclair

According to Google, the distribution of smartphones running Android 2.1 Eclair has reached 55%. Is anyone out there using Android 2.2 Froyo yet?

Google has offered up another report on Android's current level of fragmentation. Android 2.1 Eclair now accounts for 55.5% of all Android devices, which is up by 4% when compared to last month.

Android 1.6 Donut users now account for 22.1% of Android handsets and Android 1.5 Cupcake users account for 18.9%. Each has dropped a bit since last month, when 25% were still using Android 1.6 and 24.6% were using Android 1.5. In May, the numbers were 37.2% for Android 2.1, 28% for 1.6, and 34.1% for 1.5.

Perhaps the most interesting metric to come from Google's latest report is that 3.3% of Android handsets are now using Android 2.2 Froyo. Google has so far only distributed Android 2.2 Froyo to the Nexus One handset. Google has also made the code and associated SDK available to developers.

Lee Hom accused of being difficult

Producer of a Chinese variety show accused the star of being snobbish and changing his script at will

Singer-actor Lee Hom was in China promoting his new movie Love In Disguise when a producer accused the star of being snobbish.

According to reports, Lee Hom went on a talk-show together with the cast to promote his movie.

While the atmosphere on set was friendly and filled with laughter, the producer of the talk-show later posted a message on his weibo (Chinese equivalent of Twitter) implying that Lee Hom was picking on the script and being difficult.

"You are a new director and I respect your passion for your work. However, I do not agree with the rudeness you showed by casting the script aside."

Audience who were at the filming set that day immediately put up their own videos to rebuke the producer's claims.

On the 20th, Se7en held a comeback party at a club in Seoul, where afterwards, he met with news reporters where he discussed his juniors, Big Bang and 2NE1. He stated “Since within each group, each member has their own area and personality, they’re ensuring their survival.”, “They seem to express everything well, from their teamwork and musical personality, and fashion. As their senior, I’m really proud of them”, and laughed.

Yang Hyeonsuk, YG Entertainment representative who was also at the location had said “Big Bang and 2NE1 are really uncomfortable with Se7en.”, “When they were trainees, Se7en was a top star and on top of that had charisma to begin with. I’m most afraid of G-Dragon in this world but the person who G-Dragon is the most afraid of is Se7en.”

At one point, he was the YG magnae, but now he has become the eldest hyung – Se7en said “I feel good. Back then, I was busy while following people around, but now, there’s a lot of dongsaengs(younger close friends) following me around.”

Bad-hair Britney Spears shows off frightful ratty extensions and stringy looking locks

Britney Spears is in desperate need of some TLC from a stylist.

The singer was spotted out shopping in Sherman Oaks, California yesterday and she looked as if she had been dragged through a hedge backwards.

Spears' stringy yellow hair looked over processed and damaged, and when the 28-year-old turned around her matted hair extensions and ginger scalp were clearly visible.

Spears, dressed in a tangerine coloured vest, beige shorts and brown ankle boots tried to minimize her hair disaster by tying it up in a top knot. But nothing could fully remedy the situation.

Here is your destination for goodies related to film, comics and more! And when it comes to big screen comic book adaptations the heroes don’t get much bigger than Thor and Captain America. The star of Thor is Chris Hemsworth, the leading man of Captain America: The First Avenger is Chris Evans. You can see their blue eyes smolder above, but the real news is the dazzling new artwork for their respective movies, which you can see below.

The concept art comes in the form of beautiful new posters which will be given out to adoring fans at the infamous San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, July 24th at Booth #2329. And this news comes a few days after the unveiling of the first Asgard photo (Thor and Odin have to live somewhere, right?).

Nexus One no longer available for purchase from Google

The day hath cometh. Last week, Google cautioned users that after it had sold through its remaining stock of HTC Nexus Ones the handset would no longer be available — unlocked — directly from Google. Today, that warning has become reality. A quick glance at www.google.com/phone tells the sad story. Wel… it was fun while it lasted.

Singer Dave Wang announces retirement from showbiz

Singer Dave Wang revealed that he will retire after his upcoming concert tour during an appearance on a Hong Kong television programme on Sunday.

"I am calling it quits. Before I leave, I want to answer to my fans. I came into this industry using my music and I want to use my music to say goodbye to my fans and thank them.

"Don't worry! I, Dave Wang, am a man of my word. When I say I will go, I won't miss the industry and come back. I won't speak irresponsibly," said Wang confidently.

The 47-year-old singer went on to point out that he will go without make-up and would not have back up dancers or stage effects during this concert tour to focus purely on his singing.

Lindsay Lohan's Jail Stint Knocked Down to 12 Days

If she behaves and jails remain overcrowded, Lindsay Lohan will only have to spend 12-13 days in jail for violating her probation for previous drug and alcohol arrests, a spokesman for the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said on Tuesday. It's a big break for Lohan, who was given 90 days by a judge and was initially expected to serve about 23 days of that sentence.

Steve Whitmore told reporters that nonviolent female inmates generally serve about 25 percent of their sentence, namely because of overcrowding in the jail system. He indicated to PEOPLE that Lohan will be released from Century Regional Detention Facility either Aug. 1 or 2.

At Tuesday's hearing, Beverly Hills Judge Marsha Revel ordered that Lohan must not be released to house arrest or electronic monitoring and also slashed the 24-year-old's transition time between jail and her 90-day rehab stint from 48 to 24 hours.

"She's scared as anyone would be," Lohan's attorney Shawn Chapman Holley told the press on Tuesday. "But she's resolute and she's doing it."

Survey: Facebook Lovers Hate Facebook

A survey that went out this morning called the American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI), garnered a lot of attention around the blogosphere. While this survey is nothing new, this year, they included a few “social media” sites for the first time. And the results were interesting. Or, at least, the results basically said Facebook sucks. And that’s interesting.

But here’s the thing. I’ve read this survey over a few times, and I’m still getting nothing out of it. Sure, the company behind the results, ForeSeeResults, wants me to know that Facebook and MySpace rate behind 95% of the other companies they survey (and even 90% of government agencies) according to their index. But what does that mean? That people don’t like these social networks? Okay, so what does that mean? I’m just not convinced that any of this means anything at all.

Lindsay Lohan's First Tearful Hours in Jail

With a thick glass partition separating them, Lindsay Lohan received her first visitor in jail – her attorney.

"Understandably, Lindsay's having a difficult time adjusting as it would be for anyone," Shawn Chapman Holley told PEOPLE after the brief visit with her client Tuesday. "She's trying to make the necessary adjustments to an extremely stressful and difficult situation. There were some tears."

Lohan, who'll be confined to her 12-by-8 cell alone for approximately 22 hours a day for about two weeks, is being kept in a special segregated unit away from the general population. E! reality star Alexis Neiers, 19, occupies the next-door cell once used by Paris Hilton.

"Generally, the first two days in jail are the most difficult," Holley added. "I just kept reminding her of that. She's doing the best she can."

Lohan, 24, apparently got a nod of sympathy from her guards. "Her spirits aren't high," says Holley, "but I spoke to some of the deputies and they said Lindsay's reaction is the same as anyone in her situation."

Lindsay Lohan to Spend 14 Days in Jail

Lindsay Lohan will serve "about 14 days" of her 90-day jail sentence, L.A. sheriff's spokesman Steve Whitmore tells UsMagazine.com.

The actress, 24, has been "extremely cooperative" since entering the Century Regional Detention Facility in Lynwood, Calif. Tuesday morning, Whitmore said earlier.

Lohan, who smirks in her mug shot, will spend her days in solitary confinement in a 12-foot-by-8-foot cell.

"She will be kept away from general population," Whitmore said.

After Lohan surrendered, her attorney Shawn Chapman Holley told reporters that Lohan "is asking for your prayers and support. She has stepped up and accepted responsibility."

Holley described Lohan as "a talented young woman and I appreciate that she has accepted responsibility here. She is scared -- as anyone would be -- but is as resolute as anyone could be and she is doing it."

Taylor Swift to Release Concept Album in October

Country-pop starlet Taylor Swift, who sold millions of records detailing the agonies of adolescence, said on Tuesday her third album will be a "conceptual" release directed at specific people she met during her dizzying ascent to stardom in the past two years.

"In life you have a lot of situations that pop up and people come into your life and sometimes you don't get to tell them what you wish you would have told them," the 20-year-old singer/songwriter told fans during an Internet broadcast.

"This album is my opportunity to do that. Track by track, each song is a different confession to a different person."

The aptly titled "Speak Now" will come out worldwide on October 25 through Nashville-based independent label Big Machine Records.

Swift said the first single -- "Mine" to be released on August 16 -- was a song of hope inspired by her recent tendency to run from love.

"I'm never ever going to go past hoping that love can work out," she said.

For the first time, Swift wrote all of the songs herself and she produced the album with Nathan Chapman, who produced her previous releases. An extensive world tour will follow, she said, although dates have not yet been disclosed.

Zac Efron is "So Proud" of Miley Cyrus

Last month, Miley Cyrus made one of the most confusing, ridiculous comments on record, saying there's a double standard at work between the negative reaction she receives on stage and the praise heaped upon Zac Efron in movies.

However, Miley also showed love for the former High School Musical star, telling Billy Bush:

“Zac has a special place in my heart. If it wasn’t creepy and he wasn’t my friend, I would have posters of him on my wall.”

After being shown this interview, Efron had the following to say to Access Hollywood about Cyrus: “I’ve known her since she was a little girl. It’s amazing what she’s done. She’s blossomed into this beautiful lady and taking the world by storm. I’m so proud of her.”

As he tours the country in promotion of Charlie St. Cloud, meanwhile, Efron stopped by the Mall of America in Minnesota yesterday.

Apple eviscerates Q3 earnings estimates, revenue up 78% year-over-year

Apple’s quarterly earnings conference call ended just a short while ago, and records have been broken.

Apple announced that its fiscal Q3 ending June 26 brought it the biggest revenues and profits ever.

Revenue was $15.7 billion and net profit was $3.25 billion.

Year-on-year these mean growth of 61% and 77%, respectively.

The gross margin was slightly down to 39.1%, compared to 40.9% a year ago.

Apple has started selling the iPad during this quarter, and has so far sold 3.27 million.

The results have exceeded analysts’ estimates, and have triggered a 3.1% rise in Apple share prices in extended trading, after having already gained 2.6% in regular trading.

Apple is still, by far, the most profitable phone manufacturer. Which may be the only metric to matter, especially if you’re an investor.

HP Slate 500 with Windows 7 surfaces on HP's site

We can't say we know exactly what's going on here, but it does appear that the HP Slate still lives in all its Windows 7 (and Intel Atom) glory. Yep, the guys at IDG News spotted the good ol' 8.9-inch HP Slate -- now apparently the Slate 500 -- hanging out on a rather hidden HP.com page. The details are few and far between, but they do seem to coincide with all that we originally had heard about the tablet -- it runs Windows 7 Home Premium, has "exclusive" HP software and two cameras. And that's not all, the chaps at IDG also noticed that the Slate 500 was Energy Star certified, and a listing for the same product on Energy Star's site confirms that it will have a 1.6GHz processor. That too seems to line up with what we had heard about the Slate having a 1.6GHz Intel Atom Z530 CPU. We know, it's all a bit surreal considering we just got word yesterday that HP had filed a trademark on the term PalmPad, and we figured the Slate may have seen its day. There's no telling what will happen next, but it sure is looking like a HP Win 7 and WebOS tablet may just live in harmony.

Verizon confirms Droid X screen issues, but says they're not widespread

We just got word back from Verizon regarding those flickering Droid X screens, and sure enough, the ghastly images are not a side effect of your assimilation into the Droid collective. Verizon and Motorola have owned up to a genuine problem with a small number of Droid X displays, approximately one-tenth of one percent. If your screen starts acting up you'd best contact the authorities immediately. And by authorities, we mean tech support, not the FBI -- the omnipresent glowing red eyeball is completely normal. It told us so. Here's Verizon's full statement on the matter:

"Verizon Wireless and Motorola are aware of a very small number of DROID X units that have experienced a flickering or banding display. Motorola has resolved the issue and is continuing to ship the phones. Any consumer who experiences a flickering or banding display should contact a Motorola customer support center or Verizon Wireless."

Hangeng releases first MV of trilogy series

As we inch closer to the release of Hangeng’s first solo Mandarin album, Geng Xin, he has now released the first MV in what will be a movie-like trilogy series.

The first MV is based off his track, 飞蛾扑火 (Moths to Flame/Fatal Attraction/Fire) is filmed with the concept of the main character’s internal struggle under the lights and cameras, his weariness of the world, how he wants to escape and his longing to a simple life.

At the same time, the MV’s beginning and ending shows the plot line through the usage of a comic book, detailed pictures and Hangeng’s determined look in his eyes are put together with HanGeng’s powerful and dazzling dance.

Leehom Wang and Crystal Liu demonstrate picture-perfect wedding photos

Leehom Wang and Crystal Liu will soon be seen in their new movie Love in Disguise when it arrives in theaters next month. They recently took part in a photo shoot for Cosmopolitan, which left many netziens envious after seeing photos of this fine-looking on-screen couple. In the pictorial, the two stars chased each other by the mountain stream and held hands while strolling along a white hallway. They looked as if they were the prince and princess from a fairytale, or a couple from a soap opera depending on who you ask.

Leehom Wang enlisted the help of Crystal Liu to be the lead actress in his directorial debut. He plays a famous singer in the movie who often disguises his real self when he is around her. Leehom frankly admitted that he has a lot in common with his character, and because of it, he would infuse the role with a lot of his own emotions.

The film combines his musical talent with movie-making, but as a first-time director, Leehom didn't become satisfied with the script until it was edited 53 times. He stressed that he didn’t make the film out on a whim, but it is rather something that he has been planning for a long time. Leehom said the film is a youthful and inspirational comedy. It embodies the responsibility of a filmmaker and a musician, and he hopes it will bring happiness to the audience.

TaeYang, “Me and Yuri, we are definitely not in that kind of relationship”

TaeYang was on SBS Strong Heart aired on 20th July.

On the show that day, TaeYang talked about his encounters with So Nyeo Shi Dae Yuri, starting with a blind date set up by common friends between them.

He added, “We had a meal together once, and I have been invited to her concert before and because I don’t want the other members to have misunderstandings, so I went to the concert alone. But it was a good experience. I look forward to more activities in the future.”

SeungRi who was also present on the show added, “Only the 2 of them know what kind of relationship goes on between them right? I hope they turn out well.”

TaeYang then responded, “Me and Yuri are definitely not in that kind of relationship. But if we are to really be together, I will not openly say it out like this.”

Adobe FlashTime is like FaceTime, but for Android

Adobe is set to launch version 2.5 of AIR not only for the desktop operating systems, but for Android as well, and around the same time. Furthermore, the Android version will be on par, feature-wise, with the desktop version.

Using the upcoming AIR 2.5, Adobe has built the very creatively named FlashTime, which, you guessed it, is like FaceTime, but for Android. Unlike FaceTime, it also features a text-based chat system.

The FlashTime demo shows a video call between two Google Nexus One phones. The video goes through Adobe’s Stratus servers.

Mark Doherty, FlashTime’s developer, warns that some of the demoed features may not make it into the final v1 of FlashTime.

Megan Fox, Dominic Monaghan to Get Hot in Eminem and Rihanna Video?

Megan Fox doesn't need Michael Bay.

The former Transformers star has Eminem.

The world's hottest newlywed is thisclose to being in the video for "Love the Way You Lie," the Detroit rapper's hit single with Rihanna.

A Lost star has already been cast in the vid...

Dominic Monaghan is set to appear. Plans call for some rather steamy sequences between D.M. and Fox. "It gets really intense," a source says.

Director Joseph Kahn confirmed on Twitter yesterday that he was directing the video. However, he didn't name names. "Got off a call," he posted. "Emergency music video. Gonna write and turn in treatment in three hours to shoot asap." He apparently wrote it in just 45 minutes.

The source said Fox and Monaghan would shoot their scenes later this week in Los Angeles.

Kahn directed Eminem's videos for "Without Me" and "We Made You." He also directed Rihanna in a Covergirl ad. He most recently helmed the video for Kylie Minogue's "All the Lovers," which features dozens of beautiful men and women gyrating and making out in nothing but white undergarments.

Hey, Mr. Kahn, can ya get Megan and Dom to strip down, too? We'd really appreciate that. Thanks.

Ali Larter Is Pregnant!

There's a baby on the way for Ali Larter and her writer/actor husband Hayes MacArthur.

"Ali and Hayes are thrilled to be expecting their first child," her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively. The baby is due this winter.

Having a family has long been in the cards for the actress, 34, who wed MacArthur in Kennebunkport, Maine last August.

"I told my boyfriend after three weeks that I wanted to marry him and that we could do it tomorrow," Larter told Cosmopolitan in 2007. "I look forward to that time when I'm home with babies."

Google revamps Google Images Search

Google took the wraps off a new look for Google Images Search on Tuesday, putting up to 1,000 images on the first results page and implementing a new image-based ad format.

Google Images Search hadn't received a major update since 2001, said Marissa Mayer, vice president of search products and user experience, during a briefing for reporters at Google's San Francisco offices. The new look is designed to reduce the number of clicks it takes to find the image you're looking for and to provide more information about a particular image without having to click through to the result.

For basic searches such as "Yellowstone," Google Images Search will now return up to 1,000 images on a single page, using something called "infinite scroll" to navigate down the page looking for the right image. The company also built a thumbnail preview that pops up when you hover over a given image with information such as the URL where it is located, said Ben Ling, director of search products at Google.

Antenna-aid bandages your iPhone 4 reception issue, hopes for role in next Eminem video

Oh, Steve -- you should've known better. You show up and remove a laptop from a manila envelope, and Earth's most creative go and create a case fashioned out of one. You go and suggest that Eminem could "come out with a band-aid that goes over the corner" of your controversial iPhone 4, and well... this happens. You could wait for a free case, or you could buy six of these Antenna-aids for five bucks. The choice is obvious.

Akanishi comments on leaving KAT-TUN

Jin Akanishi (26) has written a comment on the official Johnny's mobile site, his first since the news of his expected removal from KAT-TUN. In his message, Akanishi formally announced that he is going solo.

Akanishi explained that he and KAT-TUN have different directions, but he also assured fans that he does not dislike the other members nor have personal problems with them. He apologized to the members of KAT-TUN for causing them trouble in both big and small matters, while also thanking them for his time with them.

Akanishi stated that he hopes to be active as a solo artist not just in America, but also in other parts of the world such as Asia and Europe. He also said that he naturally wants to be active in Japan as well.

13 years of absence Vivien Chow comes back as a lesbian with Sandra Ng

Vivian Chow's 13 year on-screen absence finally ends with her participation in new romantic comedy film (All About Love) directed by Ann Hui. The film has been selected as the opening film at The 5th Summer International Film Festival. It was said that in the film, Vivian, Sandra Ng and William Chan have several intense kiss and bed scenes. Besides Vivian's playing the bath scene with Sandra, she also has an intense bed scene with William.

Her first comeback film being so daring is all because she has really admired this director (Ann Hui) all along, plus this is her first time playing a lesbian. It is a role that can be developed and is challenging. For her lesbian role, Vivian visited several homosexual websites before filming began. She also visited night clubs and a gay bar in Lan Kwai Fong with the director from time to time and would talk about love experiences with other lesbians at the bar.

Vivian says: "Because it's been a long time since I have been acting, it is inevitable that I'll be a bit nervous of my performance. To really make myself get into the lesbian character, I often hyptonize myself to like women. After communicating with several lesbians, I discovered that the majority of them are more gentle and attractive than men. During filming, I will often talk to Sandra, after work I would call her and be like a real couple with her, so when shooting kiss scenes, it felt extremely natural. But for William's bed scene, I was quite embarassed because he really looks like a little boy."

Apple shows Nokia's N97 Mini can be force choked, too (video)

Nokia claims it always prioritizes antenna performance over physical design, and we'll take them at their word, but that apparently didn't exempt one Espoo handset from Apple's grip of doom. Here's the Nokia N97 Mini going down for the count, from a full seven bars to two. Of course, Apple doesn't mention whether calls or data drop when the handset's held this way. Video after the break.

Vodafone Nexus One to get Froyo next week

Sure, Google may not be selling it directly for much longer, but you can and will still be able to buy a Nexus One from Vodafone, in certain European markets.

However, the Nexus Ones that were bought from Vodafone are still stuck on Android 2.1 right now, even if Google officially released Android 2.2 Froyo for the Nexus One a good while ago.

Vodafone has announced that it will right this wrong during next week. The roll out will be over the air, but will not go to all phones at the same time, so as always with these things, be patient.

If you’re wondering why it took so long, the reason is that Vodafone apparently couldn’t help tweaking things here and there in Google’s new OS.

Frugality fuels Yahoo's second-quarter gains

It was sort of a sunny day in Sunnyvale.

Yahoo's second-quarter earnings were up only slightly, but display advertising at its owned-and-operated sites rose 19 percent from the same quarter last year as the ad market has bounced back a bit from the dregs of the media recession. Search remained a weak spot. Net revenues are up 2 percent to $1.6 billion, and net income per diluted share (EPS) was $0.15, barely beating estimates of $0.14.

"We're pleased that we continued to deliver strong operating income and margin expansion," Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz, who joined the company about 18 months ago and has been tasked with spearheading a turnaround, said in an earnings release Tuesday. "Our search fundamentals are improving and we posted another quarter of healthy display advertising growth."

But none of this was particularly surprising; Yahoo's ongoing management restructuring had led Wall Street to expect a rise in revenues as the Bartz-led belt-tightening progressed. That's partially what led to Yahoo's jump in operating income from $76 million in the second quarter of last year to $175 million this year.
