Apple passes RIM to become fourth largest mobile phone vendor globally as Nokia, LG, and Sony Ericsson struggle

Can you remember the day when Apple's audacious plan to sell 10 million iPhones in its first year was greeted with extreme skepticism within the cellphone industry. Now the computer company is shipping 14.1 million handsets every three months according to the latest IDC numbers, moving Apple into fourth place on its Top 5 list of mobile phone vendors worldwide. That moves Apple ahead of RIM thus confirming a Steve Jobs boast made during Apple's Q4 earnings calls. Sony Ericsson has been pushed off the list for the first since 2004 when IDC began tracking the top 5 vendors.

But that's not the only interesting bit of information we see in the IDC numbers tallying all cellphone shipments, not just smartphones. Overall market leader Nokia, slipped from a 36.5 percent to a 32.4 percent market share since the same quarter last year. IDC notes that Nokia is starting to show some weakness in emerging markets, one of Nokia's last strongholds, with smaller regional handset makers starting to grab market share away from Espoo in Asia/Pacific and Latin America. It's not doing well in smartphones either, with IDC claiming that Android devices are gaining momentum at Nokia's expense. LG is also suffering with a 10.1 percent decline in shipments since the same quarter last year, dropping from 10.6 percent to an 8.3 percent market share globally.

Acer Liquid Metal gets official in the UK with Android 2.2 and Breeze UI

After seeing quite a few leaks, Acer just made its Liquid Metal handset official. The 3.6-inch slate runs Android 2.2 Froyo atop an 800MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor. Inside all that molten metal you'll find 802.11n WiFi, support for 14.4Mbps HSDPA, DLNA/UPnP streaming support, Dolby Surround technology, and an image stabilized 5 megapixel autofocus camera with LED flash capable of recording video at 720p (30fps). Acer's new handset also features a new Breeze UI and SocialJogger app that aggregates Twitter and Facebook feeds. Look for it to land in brown in the UK starting mid November for £299. A silver version should arrive in early December. Still no word on that AT&T compatible jobbie that passed through the FCC.

Barbie Hsu's dad confirms she is getting married

Not to scare anyone, the above is just a composite photo – Rumors suggest that Barbie Hsu (Da S) is engaged to the executive director of a mainland restaurant group with an estimated net worth of 11.5 billion NTD (~375 million USD). The two apparently have met for only 20 days and were said to have already held their engagement party on the 22nd

He returned to Beijing afterwards and is currently responsible for promotional and design-related work at the company. Similar to Da S's ex Vic Chou, Wang also happens to be 5 years her junior.

SM Entertainment blocks all outside contact with SHINee and SNSD

Due to the explosive reactions to news that SHINee’s Jonghyun is dating actress Shin Se Kyung, SM Entertainment has begun blocking all outside contact with SHINee.

SHINee will be making an appearance on KBS 2TV’s “Music Bank” on October 29th, the first public appearance for Jonghyun after his relationship was disclosed to the public.

SM Entertainment acknowledged the amount of attention being put on the group and prepared cautious measures to shield the members by having vans wait outside the studio exit in order to quickly move the group as soon as their rehearsal was completed.

Box office preview: Can 'Saw 3D' silence 'Paranormal Activity 2'?

With only one major release this weekend, it’s tempting to simply predict a first-place finish for Saw 3D and call it a day. However, this Halloween weekend’s battle between two horror films — Lionsgate’ seventh (and allegedly last) Saw entry and Paramount’s holdover Paranormal Activity 2 — may wind up closer than we anticipate. For one thing, there’s bad blood between the two franchises. When Saw VI opened last year on Oct. 23, its weekend victory was all but assured, especially considering that since Saw II, every Saw movie had debuted to at least $30 million. But instead, little Paranormal Activity, with its $15,000 budget, expanded wide and amputated Saw VI‘s box-office prowess. Paranormal Activity grossed $21.1 million that weekend while Saw VI had to settle for second place with $14.1 million (and a series-low domestic total of $27.7 million).

And yet, despite this cautionary preamble, I’m still picking Saw 3D over Paranormal Activity 2. Here’s why:

1. Saw 3D: $23.5 million

The wild-card element at play is 3-D. If everyone who saw Saw VI comes out for Saw 3D and pays the exorbitant 3-D surcharge, that would result in a sizable bump. (A Colbert bump would have been even better). Saw 3D should also benefit from being advertised as the final entry in the franchise. Moviegoers who saw only the first two or three Saw films may still be curious to discover how the whole enchilada ends. Despite these selling points, however, Saw appears to be a (horrible pun intended) dying series. Since Saw II, each successive film has cumulatively earned less than its predecessor. And 3-D doesn’t seem to have quite the same pull it had six months ago; for instance, that extra dimension failed to stir much interest in Wes Craven’s My Soul to Take, which premiered to a measly $6.8 million a few weeks ago. So I’m predicting Saw 3D will split the openings of Saw V ($30.1 million) and Saw VI ($14.1 million) and come away with around $23.5 million from 2,808 locations — still a tidy sum considering the film’s reported $11 million budget.

Katy Perry's "Firework" Video Not Just About Sparkly Boobs

You never know what'll come out of Katy Perry's cleavage next!

Her "California Gurls" video featured a whipped cream-shooting bra, and in her latest video for "Firework," Katy shoots sparks from her chest. This time, though, it's not just about showing skin and rolling around naked in cotton candy clouds:

"Firework" features an overweight girl jumping into a pool, two guys kissing and a young boy fighting back against his abusive dad. (And also fire coming out of various body parts.)

So obviously it's about self-empowerment and embracing who you are. We think? Maybe?

According to Mrs. Russell Brand herself: "I am officially dedicating my new video to #itgetsbetter, because everyone has the spark to be a FIREWORK," she posted on her Twitter.

It Gets Better is a project dedicated to helping gay youth realize that there's hope, no matter what bullying they might face. So do you like the sweet and inspiring version of Katy? Or do you prefer her outrageous and underdressed?

Hands on the Nexus Two by Samsung

The Nexus Two is real. It's made by Samsung, and a friend of ours got to play with it. It's not going rock your face like the Nexus One did. But it will record it with a front-facing camera.

"When I first saw it from 10 feet away, I thought it was the Galaxy S," says our source, who got to handle one. "I was a little surprised it was the Nexus Two," because it's so different from the Nexus One.

It's black and shiny, built with glossy plastic. Up close, though, it's "got this curve to it." While the screen, which our source thinks is the same 4-inch AMOLED affair from the Galaxy series, is flat, the front is "sort of concave" with hard edges. And the back is curved. The tapering makes it feel thinner than Galaxy S, though it might be about the same thickness. "It feels really similar to the Galaxy S in a lot ways." (Note: Our mockup is very approximate.)

Microsoft announces a record first-quarter revenue of $16.20 billion, $5.41 billion in profit

Healthy sales of Windows 7, Office 2010 and Xbox 360 consoles propelled Microsoft to $5.41 billion in net income for its first fiscal quarter of 2011, a 51% increase from the same period a year before.

The company also reported a 25% increase in revenue for the quarter, or $16.20 billion for the quarter that ended Sept. 30. This figure exceeds what many analysts had expected the company to generate for the time period: A poll from Yahoo Finance found that analysts, on the average, expected the company to earn around $15.80 billion for the quarter.

Overall, sales of the Microsoft Office productivity suite grew by 15%, thanks to the June 2010 release of the new version, Office 2010. Xbox 360 consoles sales grew by 38%, and the company also noted that the PC refresh cycle continues to drive Windows 7 sales.

"We are seeing improved business demand and adoption. Our enterprise agreement rates were strong, reflecting business commitment to Windows 7, Office 2010, and our server and database products," said Kevin Turner, Microsoft chief operating officer, in a statement.

Céline Dion Names Her Twins Eddy and Nelson

Meet Eddy and Nelson!

It took several days, but Céline Dion and her husband René Angélil have finally named their twin sons.

The name "Eddy" comes from Eddy Marnay, who produced the singer's first five records. "He was like a father to her," says Dion's rep. "Eddy is a major influence in both Céline and René's lives."

Nelson is named after Nelson Mandela, whom Dion met two years ago while kicking off her world tour in South Africa. "René said that in just the few minutes they were able to spend with him, they were impressed by the human being he is," says the rep.

"Céline and René want their children to be inspired by their names, because they were so inspired by these men," the rep adds.

Dion, 42, told French magazine Gala that the couple had been "going a little bit crazy trying to decide" on names, citing her mother's desire for French names and her eldest son, René-Charles, pushing for American monikers.

The singer, 42, gave birth to the fraternal twins on Saturday at St. Mary's Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Fla. On Wednesday, the newly expanded family headed home with three of Dion's sisters and her mom to help out.

The twins' names were first reported by Canada's TVA.

Microsoft Kinect pre-orders sold out at Best Buy, Amazon.com

It’s not exactly a mystery that Microsoft’s upcoming Kinect sensor is highly anticipated — Kinect is expected to be the hottest gaming accessory to launch ahead of the holidays this year. Interested gamers (and friends or relatives of interested gamers) might want to scoop one up as early as possible because demand is already quite high. Business Insider reports that pre-orders for the Microsoft Kinect standalone sensor are already sold out at both Best Buy and Amazon.com. Console bundles are still available at both locations, but that won’t help the millions of gamers out there who already own Xbox 360 consoles. Playing the waiting game until Kinect becomes available at brick and mortar stores is always a gamble, so those looking to be prepared should head over to the GameStop website or Walmart’s website where pre-orders for the Kinect sensor are still available… for now.

Jiro & Calvin's photo with SNSD incurs wrath of otaku fans

Shortly after South Korea's popular girl group SNSD wrapped up their musical performance on stage in Taiwan, the nine ladies had an opportunity to meet with Jiro and Calvin of popular Taiwanese boyband Fahrenheit. In addition, both groups commemorated their meeting with a friendly group photo.

Little did the members of SNSD and Fahrenheit know that after their photo of them posing together was posted online through MTV's website, hundreds of fans reacted with vitrolic and hateful comments such as "Those artists are so privileged that they can just pose with SNSD in a photo. How repulsive!" and "Those artists have it made, not having to wait in line or invest all their strengths to get up close with SNSD. We ordinary people can only watch from afar!"

However, not only are Jiro and Calvin cultural ambassadors in South Korea and Japan through their group Fahrenheit, but Calvin also host his own show on MTV called "Japan, Korea, Music Craze" that is dedicated to the latest pop music news from those two countries. In addition, the Taiwanese group's cultural exchanges with South Korean artists is considered a type of fan service, such as their group photos with South Korean boy band ZE:A when they visited in Taiwan or with South Korean boy band DBSK when they went to South Korea. According to Fahrenheit, each exchange with their foreign counterparts gives their fans even more opportunities to see their idols.

Tom Cruise Reveals New Mission Title—Is It Any Good?

It's been a busy few days for sequel moniker reveals. First we had Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon then The Dark Knight Rises.

Now, realizing that the movie-going public may be math-averse, Tom Cruise has just announced that his fourth Mission: Impossible adventure will eschew the numeric subtitle. So what's the new name and how does it stack up to those other recently unveiled franchises?

Drumroll please...

"It is going to be Mission: Impossible and Ghost Protocol—that will be the title of this film," the A-lister told reporters at a press conference today in Dubai.

"All I wanted is not to have a number," said Cruise, elaborating on the switcheroo. "I always thought we should have a title aside from Mission: Impossible."

Cameras are set to roll in Dubai, hence the presser and boosterish message from Cruise, who hailed the Middle Eastern metropolis as "very cinematic." Hmm...perhaps that's a reference to the local landmark and tallest skyscraper in the world, the Burj Khalifa, and maybe we'll see undercover dude Ethan Hunt engaging in some death-defying hijinks around there?

Filming will subsequently move to Moscow, Prague and Vancouver. Brad Bird, who won Oscars directing Pixar's The Incredibles and Ratatouille, will be making his live-action debut on M:I-4, er, Mission: Impossible—Ghost Protocol, which costars Jeremy Renner, Paula Patton, Josh Holloway and Mission vets Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames.

HTC HD7 is hitting T-Mobile November 8th for $200... but it's hitting Amazon for $30 less

Yes, true: T-Mobile announced last week by way of Twitter that it would be retailing the HD7 on November 8th -- the same day as AT&T's Samsung Focus and HTC Surround -- for $199.99 on contract. Thing is, it turns out that AmazonWireless is going to be selling it for $169.99 on contract... which, by our calculations, is $30 less for the same product! Obviously, it's the norm for retailers like Amazon and Wirefly to charge less for phones on new two-year deals than their first-party counterparts -- but what's notable here is that Amazon will be undercutting T-Mobile by a nice little margin on day one. Well, at least we think it'll be day one; the site quotes "usually 1 to 3 weeks" for shipping, which should match up with the drop date, give or take.

TVB Anniversary Series 'Gun Metal Grey' to Premier in Novembere

Another anticipating TVB anniversary series "Gun Metal Grey" is to premier next week. The cast includes two of TVB's former "five tiger generals" Michael Miu and Felix Wong. The two have not collaborated for 24 years since "The Yang's Saga" This year is also their 30th year in the showbiz, so this series is quite memorable for the two.

"Gun Metal Grey" is different than regular police series. It tells how a justified police becomes a dangerous character who commits crime and challenges the law. Felix plays a legend icon in the police field Stone Sir. He was sentenced to jail 15 years ago and regained his position as a police later on. He would torture criminals in private and sees himself as the justified judge. Michael plays Felix's good friend who tries to stop Felix from becoming too extreme. He vows to stop Felix and maintain the current law enforcement system. Cases in the series take examples from Hong Kong's top ten criminal cases, and add in new elements and character relationships. The series re-created these cases and made the plot more intense.

Besides crime solving cases, the series also adds in a love triangle between Felix, Michael, and Jessican Hsuan. Playing a tough and strong magazine editor, Jessica admires Felix and sparks up with Michael. Jessica expresses she feels happy that she is able to work with Felix and Michael, leaving a perfect memory in her showbiz career.

Rihanna pours her curves into racy nude corset as she films new video What's My Name...

She can usually be found strutting her stuff on stage in various sexy and provocative outfits.

But yesterday Rihanna somewhat missed the mark in an incredibly revealing outfit on the set of her new video What's My Name in New York.

The 22-year-old singer was seen wearing a low-cut corset top with denim cutoff shorts, white lace knee-high socks, a loose cardigan and what appeared to be black slippers as she filmed scenes for the new video.

However, Rihanna managed to pull the outfit off and teamed the look with long pointy blue nails, her new bright red hair and a lot of jewellery.

Mariah Carey Finally Confirms Pregnancy

It's been talked about for months now, and finally Mariah Carey has come clean: She's pregnant!

"Yes, we are pregnant. This is true," Carey, 41, said on the Today show Thursday morning as part of a sneak peek at a three-part Access Hollywood interview. "It's been a long journey. It's been tough because I've been trying to hold on to a shred of privacy."

Husband Nick Cannon, 30, joined the interview to talk about the "absolutely emotional" news, adding, "The greatest gift on earth is a child."

Carey, who also told of a miscarriage two years ago, would not reveal her due date. She would only say "it's still early" and "expecting is great." Ever-supportive Cannon said of the loss, "It strengthened our relationship so much … she handled it so well."

The news, of course, won't surprise those who have followed the couple's coy references to pregnancy and babies over the past few months. Rumors flew as the expanding singer seemed to bloom a little more every week, and both Cannon and Carey have spoken about their desire for children.

Google Nexus Two to be made by Samsung, announced on November 8?

A few days ago, Samsung announced that it would unveil a new, mysterious Android device on November 8.

There are no official details on the name and features of the device, but, if the latest rumors are to be believed, this could be the Google Nexus Two.

According to Android and Me, “multiple, trusted sources familiar with the project” say that the Samsung-made Nexus Two will be the first phone to run Android 2.3 Gingerbread, and it should be available on multiple carriers.

Of course, Gingerbread is not officially out yet, but we know that it will be really soon. So the date when Samsung will unveil its new handset (November 8 ) may actually coincide with the launch date of Android’s new version. This would mean that the rumored Motorola Droid T2 won’t be the world’s first Gingerbread smartphone after all.

SNSD reveals MV for “Hoot”!

The beautiful ladies of SNSD/Girls’ Generation have been driving fanboys wild with concept and video teasers for their 3rd mini album track, “훗 / Hoot.” But now, fan girls have a reason to go crazy as well, because Choi Si Won makes a guest appearance in the music video.

Android pushes Motorola into black

Finally, there's some good news for Motorola.

The U.S.-based cell phone maker reported today that its mobile device unit posted an operating profit for the first time since 2006. The company had not expected this unit to turn a profit until next year. Motorola, which announced third quarter earnings, also posted better-than-expected sales of its Google Android-powered smartphones.

The mobile device unit generated $3 million in operating profit in the third quarter. This was up from an operating loss of $183 million in the same period a year ago. Motorola's total profit for the company also grew to $109 million, or 5 cents per share. This compares with $12 million, or 1 cent per share, during the third quarter last year.

Revenue was up 6 percent to $5.8 billion, compared with $5.4 billion last year.

Motorola plans to split itself into two companies later this year and has been selling off business units in preparation. The third quarter included $871 million in sales from the network equipment unit that Motorola is ushering out.

Denise Richards Has Awkward Encounter With Charlie Sheen's Porn Star

Before Charlie Sheen's drunken Plaza Hotel rampage Tuesday morning with Capri Anderson, the porn star posed with Sheen's ex, Denise Richards.

TMZ posted the shot on its website Thursday.

According to the site, Sheen, 45, met Anderson for the first time Monday in the bar at The Plaza Hotel.

She then joined him, along with four other women and three men, for dinner that night at Daniel restaurant.

Richards, 39, also attended.

When she arrived at the restaurant, Anderson "made a beeline" for Richards and asked for a photo. Unaware of who she was, Richards obliged.

When Anderson sat down to join them all for dinner, the meal became "too awkward" and Richards left before finishing her appetizer, according to the site.

TMZ says Anderson is planning to press charges that Sheen held her against her will during his drunken hotel meltdown Tuesday.

Slumping Wii, DS sales hit Nintendo's earnings

Nintendo has endured an extremely difficult six months.

The game company lost 2.01 billion yen, or about $24.6 million, during the six months ended on September 30. During the same period last year, it generated a profit of about of about 69.5 billion yen. Revenue for the six-month period just ended was over 363 billion yen, representing a steep decline from the 548 billion yen revenue Nintendo posted during the same period in 2009.

Although sales are slumping, Nintendo said that a key reason for the steep decline in its financials can be attributed to the strength of the yen. According to The Wall Street Journal, the currency's appreciation over the past year has helped slice about 28.1 billion yen from its revenue.

But the Wii and the DS aren't helping matters either. Nintendo says it sold 6.69 million DS units during the six-month period just ended. During the same span in 2009, it sold 11.7 million DS units around the world. The company shipped 4.97 million Wii units between April and September, down from the 5.75 million Wii consoles it shipped last year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab notches a fifth American carrier, coming to US Cellular

Milking this one for all it's worth, eh Samsung? In what's easily becoming the most drawn-out product launch in the history of product launches, Sammy is just now informing us of a fifth American carrier onboard to carry its Galaxy Tab: US Cellular. The regional CDMA operator has been chosen as the token 'little guy' to offer the 7-inch, Froyo-based tablet, but the company's not saying when it will be arriving nor for how much. We're guessing it'll cost between $400 and $600 depending on the contract situation, but considering that every other carrier is getting it within a fortnight or so, those minor points should be clarified in short order.

Van Ness prepares for a new Mandarin album

Universal Music held a press conference at the Hong Kong Jockey Club to proudly welcome Van Ness Wu to the company – with a signing bonus of eighty-million TWD for both his management and record contract.

Van Ness stood beside a meter high ice sculpture of a horse to signify that he has found his "Bo Le" (*someone who recognizes his talents). Universal Music presented Shakespeare’s Sonnets and a pair of custom-made dance shoes to Van Ness as gifts, hoping that he will rise to the top possessing both creativity and dance ability. Van Ness, who has recently released a Japanese album, is already preparing for his new Mandarin album.

Van Ness has been busy filming for a new drama as well as recording for his new album; he revealed that he just got off work very late on the night before and then he flew straight to Hong Kong at 6 in the morning, “I originally wanted to sleep on the plane, but I didn’t. Then when my hair was being blow-dried, I fell asleep. I didn’t know I would become this busy, but I’m very happy about all of this, (it's) very fun, and I love my life.” Van Ness, who is an actor, a singer, and a boss at the same time, expressed, “I love every position. They’re all different and require me to do different things. I enjoy the work in all of them.”

After joining Universal Music, Van Ness wishes to collaborate with veteran singer Jacky Cheung the most because he loves Jacky’s “吻別” (Goodbye Kiss).

'Castle' Exclusive: 'That '70s Show' vet Laura Prepon cast as... Beckett?!

Apparently, Castle is about to get a new queen: I’ve learned exclusively that Laura Prepon has just been tapped to play Natalie Gray, the actress who’s been cast as Nikki Heat in the movie version of our hero’s book Heat Wave.

Go ahead and read that again: I realize it’s a lot to take in.

As you know, the author based Nikki on his actual partner in crime-fighting — and obvious true love — Beckett. So you can well imagine the sparks that will fly when, in essence, a second Beckett, this one bearing a striking resemblance to the hot redhead from That ’70s Show, arrives on the scene early next year.

Actually, as you’re imagining the sparks that will fly, why not discuss them below?

Charlie Sheen's Plaza Date: Porn Star Capri Anderson?

The woman Charlie Sheen was, er, entertaining at the Plaza Hotel on Monday night has refuted rumors that she's a prostitute, but there's no denying her lengthy career as a porn star. TMZ reports that Sheen's guest at the swanky Manhattan hotel was none other than Capri Anderson, an adult film star the actor met earlier in the evening.

Anderson, 22, says that she was made "extremely afraid" by Sheen's erratic behavior, and locked herself in the bathroom for protection. Anderson called hotel security to Sheen's trashed suite, where the star was later met by police.

Apple in trademark dispute over iPad name

A company that claims it owns the trademark on the name "IPAD" in China says it will sue Apple for infringing on its ownership in that market, according to the Financial Times.

The report, published today, weaves a complicated international legal tale surrounding Apple's efforts to secure the trademark name on its popular touch-screen tablet. Here's the gist: Taiwanese contract manufacturer Proview makes displays, but formerly sold a tablet PC named I-Pad, a trademark it registered in China and other markets like the EU, South Korea, Singapore, Indonesia, and Mexico between 2000 and 2004.

The sales of the device apparently didn't go well, and in 2006 Proview sold the "global trademark" on IPAD for just over $55,000 to a mysterious U.S. company called IP Application Development, whose acronym is IPAD. Turns out, that company was likely a front for Apple.

Sony's Peter Dille thinks the PSP could use a cellular data connection, iPhone gamers 'aren't satisfied'

Peter Dille -- Sony's Senior Vice President of marketing at SCEA -- sat down for a "fireside chat" with CNN, and made some interesting comments regarding the PlayStation Phone. Despite kinda / sorta sticking to the company's policy of refusing to discuss rumors, Dille allegedly said that the lack of a cellular data component in current PSP devices could be holding the line back. "The PSP is a Wi-Fi device," he said. "People are used to having always-connected devices." Dille also noted that current smartphone platforms don't give users a hardcore experience, instead providing "Time-killers," which "gamers aren't satisfied with."

While the CNN article certainly includes some healthy speculation, Dille (and a company spokeswoman who told the publication that Sony "has relationships with Google") was pretty talkative when it came to the PSP and more specifically the PlayStation Network. Apparently, Dille alluded to the fact that the current PSP doesn't fulfill Sony's goal for creating a content delivery hub that's always accessible, saying "I don't think we fully realize that vision with a Wi-Fi device... If it's not connected [to a cell network] then it does sort of limit people." Of course, we're not taking this as any kind of confirmation from the company, but Sony seems awfully talkative about a device that they won't comment on.

Vicki Zhao: "I am fated to be an actress"

Decked out in a figure-hugging orange bandage dress, Chinese actress Vicki Zhao padded across the carpeted floor of the lounge with feline grace, as throngs of cameramen jostled for a better shot of the international star at slimming firm Mary Chia's press event earlier this month.

Zhao had just been revealed as the company's brand ambassador and it was obvious why – she is their most famous client and had shed virtually all the weight she gained since giving birth to her daughter in April.

The actress was simply beautiful.

But if Zhao had stuck with her career plan, she would have become a teacher instead of the dazzling star she is today, albeit a distractingly good-looking teacher.

"I trained to be a teacher before, though I really hated to be a teacher. It is so boring!" the 34-year-old blurted, when I caught up with her in a spacious hotel suite after the press event.

KARA reveals PV for “Jumping”

Back in August, the girls of KARA debuted in Japan with ‘Mister’, it did quite well and was certified “Gold” by the RIAJ for shipping over 100,000 copies. Despite the success Mister was a Japanese remake of the original Korean hit song, but now KARA is back with something brand new and fresh for the Japanese market. The single is titled ‘Jumping’ and the PV (promotional video) has been released!

Hebe’s mother donates skin to Selina

Always referred to affectionately as "wife" by Hebe, Selina is just as loved by Hebe's mother.

The member of Taiwanese pop group S.H.E had undergone a five-hour surgery on Monday to have her wounds cleaned up and to remove dead skin from her burns, which covered over 50% of her body -- 30% were third degree burns and above.

Hebe's mother has kindly offered to be a skin graft donor to Selina so that the 28-year-old would not have to go through more pain from an autograft (taking skin from her own body). Netizens who read this comment on the mother's blog were touched by her benevolence.

Ever since news of her filming accident in Shanghai broke, Selena has been receiving love from everyone, friends and fans alike.

Fellow S.H.E members Ella and Hebe were in obvious distress as they performed in China on Sunday without Selina by their side.

Dedicating the song 'Princess Selina' to their fellow member, Ella and Hebe held back tears as they asked the crowd to cheer Selina on.

Ella had written this song for Selina a few years back after the latter sprained her ankle at a dance practice.
