New Apple iPhone launching on June 18th?

We haven’t actually heard that date whispered, per se, but here is where our thinking is at. We have confirmed with multiple AT&T store reps that their sales quotas for the month of June are ridiculously high. Yes, this means the iPhone is confirmed to launch in June, not July. Knowing how many units stores received per day/week last year, if the iPhone launched in the last week of June, on Friday the 25th, we’re pretty sure the new sales quotas couldn’t be met (in-store orders don’t count as they don’t get recognized until the customer picks them up). We have heard stores having a 25-30% increase in their sales quota, so we’d like to think the next Apple iPhone will launch on Friday, June 18th. We’ll see pretty shortly.

Rihanna plays beach volleyball in her skimpy bikini... and a stout pair of work boots

Even while relaxing on the beach, Rihanna's unique sense of style shines through.

The singer stripped off for a game of volleyball yesterday, but teamed her skimpy swimwear with a stout pair of work boots.

The black leather footwear toughened up her white string bikini, which she wore with a sweater tied around her waist.

Rihanna's roadies, dancers and touring team joined the 22-year-old for the game in the picturesque setting of Cape Sounio beach.

The American singer was taking a break from her gruelling world tour, after performing in Athens.

Her boots are getting a lot of use, despite the warm weather in Greece.

Miley Cyrus to the World: Get Over Me, Focus on Peace!

It's official: Miley Cyrus is the most self-centered celebrity on the planet.

Following her controversial performance on Britain's Got Talent, in which she simulated a same-sex kiss, Miley has released a statement on her official website. It's almost too pompous and phony to believe, but this is what Cyrus wrote:

“I performed ‘Can’t Be Tamed’ this week on one of my favorite shows here in the UK Britian’s Got Talent... during my performance I supposedly “KISSED A GIRL” and this is the newest thing to cause controversy.

Charlene Choi and Li Bing Bing fights to kiss Louis Koo

The film "Triple Trap" directed by Derek Lee is schedule to release in July. In the movie, Louis Koo and Daniel Wu's many gun shooting scenes are full of flavor. Louis was also arranged to be romantically connected with both Charlene Choi and Li Bing Bing. Louis smiled and said that he's not sure if the director knew Daniel got married, so he deliberately did not arrange any love relationships for him, ending his fate with beautiful women.

In the movie, Ah Sa and Li Bing Bing's roles both fights for Louis. Ah Sa plays a nurse who is soft inside and tough outside, which is very different from Li Bing Bing's tough policewoman role. She said that for every scene, the director had to explain her character's emotions, giving her a good experience on acting.

BlackBerry Bold 9800 gets some glamour shots, looks like the slider of our dreams

The verdict is still out on OS 6, but there's hardly any doubting the assured design and form factor that RIM has gone with for the BlackBerry Bold 9800 slider. Our latest look at the device comes courtesy of BlackBerry Times in China, who has what appears to be an early version of the device. They expect the smooth plastic back to be replaced by the leather look RIM favors on its higher end devices, but otherwise the unit looks to be pretty solid and far along. The Google-translated Chinese seems to confirm again that the screen is not SurePress. Not a lot of landmark news to be gleaned here, but we're mostly stoked about these delicious bokeh-filled shots of device -- it's really looking good, and the comparison shot with other recent BlackBerries (check after the break) is rather helpful for sizing this thing up.

Chace Crawford Arrested

Chace Crawford was arrested early Friday morning for possession of marijuana, according to a police report.

The 24-year-old Gossip Girl star was arrested in a pub parking lot in Plano, Texas, after police discovered one marijuana joint in the car he was in. The charge is a misdemeanor, for having two ounces or less of marijuana.

"He was cool," the source tells PEOPLE. "He was on the phone the whole time. [The group] seemed normal. None of them seemed like they were mad or anything.”

TMZ.com report was first to report the arrest.

Mariah Carey Shows Off New Pregnancy Curves!

Hey, Mama!

Showing off an extra-curvy figure, mom-to-be Mariah Carey hit the stage in Fayetteville, Ark. on Friday to sing for Wal-Mart shareholders. It's the first time the diva has stepped out in public since a pal confirmed to Us that Carey is expecting.

Although Carey has yet to make a public announcement, she is "in the early stage of pregnancy," waiting until after the first trimester to share the big news, the pal says in the new Us Weekly.

Even her husband of two years Nick Cannon accidentally gushed about the pregnancy when chatting with fans in Malibu May 30. "Her bump is bigger. You can almost see it now...I'm very excited!"

Cannon, 29, later retreated a bit. "If & when my wife is ready to make ANY announcements about private matters she will do it personally," he wrote on Twitter Wednesday night.

We're going to tell you the punchline right away: Run, don't walk, to get your iPad 3G before the end of the weekend

If you want to stream video while on-the-go from sources like Netflix or the ABC Player, or any of the hundreds of sources like them coming down the pike, you will quickly regret not having an unlimited data plan unless you are constantly connected to wi-fi.

iPhone and iPad owners cringed after hearing about the new data plans AT&T will be rolling out next week. While current data plan subscribers can breathe a sigh of relief – you'll be able to keep your unlimited plans (at least for now, there's some speculation they will go away too) or downgrade to one of the two new limited data plans – new subscribers looking to go unlimited will be SOL.

Michelle Ye reveals other half's requirement: My other half must be in the industry

On the night of HKFA, Michelle Ye was filled with warm tears, even upon returning to backstage, her eyes were still red. The day right after the awards, Michelle flew back to Shanghai to continue filming series 'Guo Se Tian Xiang'. Life continues while work is forever ahead of life. Michelle has come into the movie industry for 5 years since leaving the reliable income of hers as the TVB fa dan in 2005, and as a newbie back then, she lowered her pride the lowest possible. She said she did not mind be it as the female lead or female supporting, she is happy to participate even if it was just dubbing, she does not feel that it is a waste of time, "If it really helps a friend, I feel very happy too, its worthy of my efforts despite the quantity. Fan Bing Bing in 'Bodyguards and Assassins' was also nominated in HKFA, if she had won, I'd be happy too, because I contributed (dubbing) too." Her appreciation speech that night are still ringing in ears: Even if you are just a backstage who prepares a simple prop, it is too a contribution. With this logic, the emotions and tears that night must have been the happiness from recognition given. However, she said: "I was emotional because I was afraid I might miss thanking someone, this award is not a mere recognition for me, I do not think a lot of people have changed their opinion about me just because of this award, be it my attitude towards work or my passion, what was there is still there, nothing changes overnight just because of this award."

Meeting the important people in the movie industry"Biggest achievement is friendship and kinship"

The hardship of venturing into the movie industry is undeniable, but Michelle Ye knows well to be grateful: "I think the memories behind and this award becomes perfect, (they) witnessed our experience." She repeatedly highlighted this point that the crew and cast were close as a family when filming 'Accident'. Producer Johnny To and Director Cheng Pou Sui filmed for as long as 17 months. When initially joining this 'male dominated crew', Michelle felt very nervous but after few days she realized "everyone is very nice and friendly". She said she got to know a lot of good friends through filming 'Accident' such as Richie Ren, Louis Koo, Cheng Pou Sui, "Having these few friends is good enough for a lifetime." When going to Venice for the film festival, Michelle Ye who grew up with her divorced father felt that it was just like a family going for a vacation, exceptionally warm.

Dustin Hoffman Justin Bateman Kiss

Talk about taking one for the team! Dustin Hoffman and Jason Bateman dutifully sucked face when the Kiss Cam landed on them at last night’s Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals game in Los Angeles.

Is it just us or do they look really comfortable like that? And did Dustin just slip Jason a little tongue?!

What Google Chrome Might Look Like On An iPad

The iPad offers a great web browsing experience — maybe the best on any device (assuming you don’t want to go to a site that uses Flash). But it could still be better. For example, it would be nice to have actual tabs, rather than the bogus window system the iPad uses. That system makes sense on the iPhone where there isn’t much screen real estate, but there’s plenty on the iPad. Undoubtedly it’s a memory issue just as much as anything else, but it’s one of the things designer Markus Schmeiduch was thinking about when he decided to do some mock-ups of how Google Chrome might run on an iPad.

Schmeiduch acknowledges that due to the restrictions on JavaScript engines, Chrome for the iPad is not likely to be a reality anytime soon (not to mention the relationship between Apple and Google at the moment), but that hasn’t stopped him from dreaming. On top of real tabs, his Chrome for iPad gives us Google cloud-synced bookmarks, gestures, and even some Chrome OS features.

Motorola Droid Xtreme shows its face, backside

The crazy cats over at Droid Life are back once again with yet another leak of the Motorola MB810 which Droid Life claims will be sold as the Droid Xtreme and not the Droid Shadow. In the past we have seen this phone from various angles, but this is the first time we’ve ever seen its backside. Two things to take away from these pics. First is the camera which is clearly labelled as 8 megapixels with HD video and is flanked by a dual-LED flash. The second thing is UI customization. We’ve already seen the Xtreme powered on, but this picture gives us a much clearer look at the more subtle UI customization brought forth in what some are calling “ninja blur.” Are you liking how the Xtreme is shaping up?

PlayStation emulator coming to Android, courtesy of yongzh and ZodTTD

If you don't know the names yongzh and ZodTTD, you can certainly be forgiven, but they're basically the cell phone emulation dream team -- where the former has been cranking out high-quality Nintendo and Sega emulators for Android, the latter is the one who brought PSX to iPhone, iPhone 3GS and the Palm Pre. Today, we hear they're collaborating on a PSX emulator for Android that's running faster than the 3GS version -- before Froyo's even factored into the equation -- and that when his domination over the PSX is complete, ZodTTD intends to begin work on an Nintendo 64 emulator for Android, and then VLC. Without letting our enthusiasm get the better of us, let's just say it's an exciting time to be an Android owner, to say the least.

Kristen Stewart: 'I Made an Enormous Mistake'

No sooner did excerpts from July's British Elle make their way to the Internet on Wednesday than the blogosphere exploded in outrage.

In an offending quote, Twilight saga star Kristen Stewart compared paparazzi photos of herself to images of a woman being raped. Almost immediately, everyone from fans to spokespeople for rape victims' advocacy organizations were publicly criticizing the actress.

"I really made an enormous mistake – clearly and obviously," Stewart, currently in Korea to promote the new installment of the Twilight series Eclipse, tells PEOPLE exclusively. "And I'm really sorry about my choice of words."

Ke$ha gets into the summer spirit in her ripped denim hotpants

Since leaping to fame last year, American singer Ke$ha has quickly become renowned for her grungey fashion sense and wild song lyrics.

But during her current visit to London, the Californian gave a rare glimpse of her tanned legs.

Arriving back to her West End hotel yesterday, the pop star was clearly in the summer spirit in a pair of distressed denim hotpants and lacy vest.

But while many of her pop contemporaries have been teaming sexy shorts with killer heels or gladiator sandals, Ke$ha added a tomboy edge with her pair of bulky Doc Martin boots.

Later that evening, she cut a more feminine figure as she wore a leopard-print mini-dress as she hit Mahiki nightclub in Mayfair.

Apple launches HTML5 advocacy site

Feuds are nothing new no matter who is feuding be it the Hatfield’s and McCoy’s, VHS and Betamax, Blu-ray and HD DVD, or Flash and HTML5. Some feuds last decades, others are over in a few short years or months. Apple has decided to add a page to its website to promote the use of HTML 5 and web standards in general.

The theme of the page seems to be to stop the folks that like to say things like HTML5 is OK, but Flash can do this etcetera and so on. As you might expect the new page touts the open nature of HTML5 and Apple’s adherence to open standards in its products.

Motorola Droid Shadow (Xtreme) shows up again, runs Android 2.2 now?

Last time we heard about it, Verizon’s unannounced Motorola Droid Shadow (which may also be called Motorola Xtreme) was running Android 2.1. However, according to some new details unveiled by Droid Life, the Shadow / Xtreme is now running Android 2.2 – if that’s true, the handset will almost certainly have Froyo at launch.

Other interesting details: the smartphone allegedly has 9 homescreens and, contrary to previous rumors, it doesn’t use MotoBlur.

There are also two new photos of the Shadow, showing it without Verizon’s logo (this might be a pre-production unit or something like that)

The 3-membered TVXQ has a large possibility of heading to the U.S later this month to start recording. Plans of working on an album with Kim Hyung Sik are true, but official plans are not ready to be revealed yet.”

Ellen To Blame For “Idol” Ratings Slump?

Lesbianism is killing family-friendly television and Ellen DeGeneres is the reason Americans just aren’t that into Idol — at least that’s the story religious crusader Gary McCullough is telling.

What are our thoughts on this?

On Thursday, the director of the Washington-based Christian Newswire penned a hilariously headscratching editorial indirectly blaming the gay community for the sharp decline in ratings during the past ninth season of American Idol. According to McCullough, longtime Idol viewers are switching the channel because Emmy-winning talk show host Ellen DeGeneres is now a judge on the program. He argues that the comedienne’s “gay agenda” conflicts with the “family entertainment” component of the show and makes fans uncomfortable. Or something.

iiView M1Touch is a 10-inch iPhone tablet, seriously (video)

Always thought the iPad should've really just been an enlarged iPhone? No, seriously -- like an iPhone after one of those "Honey, I Blew Up the Kids" incidents? Well, iiView is bringing just that to market this month, except its M1Touch runs Windows 7 Premium and packs an Intel Atom N450 processor along with 2GB of RAM. It also has a 250GB hard drive and a 1.3-megapixel cam on its left bezel. We finally got to see the tablet up close and personal -- it's been under lock and key in the Microsoft booth all week -- and it's pretty much the biggest iPhone you've ever seen. The capacitive touchscreen was fairly responsive, though there was a noticeable lag in opening programs. We're told it also has an accelerometer and that the familiar circular button on the right bezel will bring you back to the desktop, but both were disabled on the display model. Around the edges you'll spot a trio of ports, a SIM slot, a mini HDMI output and a microphone jack. As for the actual feel of this thing, it's pretty thick from the sides and weighs 1.5 pounds. Chances are that you stopped reading this post a few minutes ago and started clicking through the gallery to see shots of bugger alongside a normal iPhone, but we'd encourage you to also peek the video waiting just past the break. Oh, and if you'd like to give your iPhone an inferiority complex, you can always head on over to that source link and order one of these for $499.

Da S swears never forced marriage, broke up with Blue and Vic amicably

This week's weekend supplemental magazine reports that Barbie Hsu (Da S) is a 10/10 woman, but is a tad domineering regarding her dealings with relationships. When she broke up with ex-boyfriends Blue Lan and Zai Zai, there were rumours that it was due to her pushing for a wedding; however, she says she ended things with them amicably, and "I have never tried to force a wedding on anyone in my whole life!"

Acting is her first love, love life has been empty for about two and a half years

Da S laughs that after her breakup with Vic Zhou, her "window" of love has been empty, so she has turned to acting, and is planning to make a huge dent on Hong Kong's silver screens. All of her co-stars are hottie kings, and as she has a track record of creating sparks in real life with her co-stars after working with them on an idol drama, she thought that it would be the same for movies. Alas, she experienced the opposite.

She says, "Every actor comes prepared when they work on a movie, because they have to create feeling and a connection with the audience. Once the movie's over, the feelings leave and you return to reality. Acting in an idol drama is completely different, because you see the actors day after day, and it's easier to develop feelings."

Wonder Girls confesses, “We like Big Bang more than 2PM”

The WonderGirls confesses, “We like Big Bang more than 2PM.”

The girls were recently on SBS Family Outing 2 and they were featured having a pillow fight during their vacation to KangWonDo YangGoo BaeGgop Village. The girls aimed their unhappiness at 2PM TaecYeon.

YeEun then said, “2PM has never once gave us their CDs from when their 1st album came out till now. In the States, through the broadcast shows, we heard a lot of about how they have revealed that they had like So Nyeo Shi Dae more than us. We also like Big Bang more,” provoking laughter from the other star appearances.

No action for Jet Li

Action superstar Jet Li's upcoming film "Ocean Heaven" will be his first film without any fight sequences in the past 30 years, reported Chinese media.

The film, slated for a summer release in China, revolves around a cancer-stricken man (Li) who devotes himself to taking care of his autistic son and tries to find a sanctuary for him before he succumbs to cancer.

Speaking to reporters at a recent charity event in China, Li, who had decided to devote himself to charity work last year and described acting as "a hobby", said it was a simple decision for him.

"I read a good script and I wanted to do it," said Li. "I did not deliberately set out to change my image, or looking to gain something. That is not important to me at all."

The actor was said to have loved the script so much that he personally roped in people to work on the project.

Taiwanese pop idol Jay Chou, whom Li worked with in 2006's "Fearless", has agreed to sing the film's theme song at his behest.

The A-Team Premiere — Pictures!

JESSICA Biel, Bradley Cooper, Sharlto Copley, Liam Neeson and Quinton Jackson among others hit the red carpet in Hollywood Thursday night for the world premiere of new movie The A-Team

The film — based on The A-Team television series — hits movie theaters June 11.

Biel — who plays Capt. Carissa Sosa in the flick — recently admitted she was worried the remake would end up being cheesy.

Miley Cyrus Declares She Never EVER! Broke Up with Liam

Don't believe recent chatter suggesting that Miley Cyrus and her Aussie hunk have split due to his rising popularity and her supposed jealousy. According to Cyrus, that is so not the case.

"Just wanna clear up a rumor. Liam [Hemsworth] and I did not break. EVER! We are so happy and a lot of that has to do with the amazing relationship he has with my family," she writes on her Web site.

The couple met in 2009 on the set of The Last Song, based on the Nicholas Sparks novel. They attempted to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, but in March, Cyrus admitted that she and Hemsworth had been dating for 10 months.

Hemsworth, 20, is currently in negotiations to star in the 3D action film Arabian Nights. And Cyrus's third album Can't Be Tamed drops June 22. With two demanding schedules and plenty of travel, no wonder rumors surface. But it's clear that family bonds help keep the couple in sync. "We are both so busy right now, so having them by our side supporting us and our career is such a blessing!" Cyrus writes.

Google’s iTunes Competitor Will Likely Be Called Google Music

At Google I/O a few weeks ago, Google teased the audience with a glimpse of a web-based iTunes competitor that would be a new section of the Android Market. Details were sparse during that time, but we may have found the name of the service through a new logo that is hosted on Google’s domain: Google Music. You can tweak that url to see more product logos, including Android and Docs.

While the name is unsurprising, the idea behind Google Music, if that is what it in fact it will be called, is pretty compelling. You would go to the Market on the web, find a song you like, click the download button, and just like with apps, the song would start to download over the air onto your Android devices. Google also announced the acquisition of Simplify Media. Using Simplify’s technology, Google will offer a desktop app that will give you access to all DRM-free media on Android devices remotely.

AT&T Considering Selling Unlimited iPad 3G Plan WIthout the iPad

Apparently there's some stampede on 3G iPads, which are in short supply, so that new customers can activate $30 3G unlimited plans before Monday, when they're banished forever. As a solution, AT&T is considering selling the iPad 3G data plan without an iPad 3G over the weekend—one that could be linked to your iPad if/when you ever get it. That's right. Buy data you won't be able to use! I'm curious as to whether this fringe group—tech savvy Apple fanboys who didn't buy an iPad 3G before but kinda want one now since AT&T went douchebag on us—actually exists.

KIM Kardashian replaces Angelina Jolie in new Tomb Raider movie?

KIM Kardashian is in talks to replace Angelina Jolie in the Tomb Raider movie franchise.

According to Hollywood insiders, the curvy reality TV star is in the middle of negotiations to play video game beauty Lara Croft in a reboot of the film series.

“This will be something very different to Angelina’s Lara,” a source said.

“Kim is wanted to play a far more comic-strip version of Lara which would be shot in 3-D and aimed at a teen audience.”

Kim, 29, has previously spoken of her desire to break into acting.

“I would love to do more acting,” she said in December last year.

“I have so much going on but acting is definitely exciting to me. I’m hoping to do more TV and I would really love to make movies.”

Khloe Kardashian: I'm Not Pregnant; "I'm Just Fat"

Khloe Kardashian Odom is putting those pregnancy rumors to rest.

Asked at the Lakers/Celtics game Thursday if she's expecting, she told Entertainment Tonight: "No, I'm just fat."

Earlier this week, RadarOnline reported that the E! reality star, 25, is two months pregnant with husband Lamar Odom's baby.

But at Thursday's Lakers game, her mother Kris Jenner told UsMagazine.com: "If Khloe is pregnant, I would be the first to yell it. So, no, she's not -- unless they're holding out on me, in which case they're both grounded."

Added brother Rob, "She's not pregnant. I live with those two, and I would know if she was pregnant."'

But mom Jenner told Us when the time comes, "she'll be the best mom in the world. She helped me raise Kendall and Kylie. I couldn't have done it without her. And [Lamar] will be a great dad. He's got two beautiful children. I can't wait until the rest of my kids have kids of their own, but right now we have little Mason, and I'm very, very happy."

Qik premium service launches with EVO 4G [Video]

Remember the Qik HTC EVO 4G video call furore last week, and the company’s promise to unveil some “premium features” on the same day that the WiMAX smartphone made its debut? Qik has now announced exactly what you can get for $4.99 per month in their Premium package, and it includes higher video quality together with the ability to send “video mail messages”. Joe Chen and Roy Qiu Refuse to Promote New Drama Together

Three months ago, Joe Chen Qiao En broke up with Roy Qiu, the second leading male actor in Easy Fortune Happy Life and her costar in the mainland drama The Girl in Blue. Since then, because the relationship ended badly due to opposing personalities between the two, Joe Chen and Roy Qiu have not stayed in contact with each other. The Girl in Blue will soon be broadcasted on television; however, during promotions for the drama, only Roy Qiu appeared which caused promotions to be very difficult as there was not enough to discuss.

Yesterday, producer He Xiu Qiong expressed that she had heard about the news between Joe and Roy. She added that because Joe Chen was unable to take out even one day for promotions of the drama within the 16-day promotion period, there was no doubt that the outside world would speculate that Joe did not want to be on the same stage as Roy.

Gillian Chung indifferent about Alex Fong and Stephy Tang's wedding rumor

Gillian Chung and Alex Fong had a past, in 2004, where the sex scandal had surfaced and in 2005, the media reported of their Switzerland trip together. Also, the breakup between Edison and her had left their friendship broken. The day before, Gillian was asked if felt 'sour' when she knew about the alleged couple's marriage rumour, said that she too has plans to get married and took the initiative to ask the reporters for a good recommendation and declared she would get married immediately if they had one and not lose to the 'old love'.

Asking on behalf of the media

When asked if she knew of the couple's plans to get hitched, she answered quickly, "Of course not! I'm not a particularly nosey person, I don't even read the company's magazines. But even if I don't read, this question is unavoidable in an interview. There are many things you don't have to know, and this news doesn't concern me; I'll ask on the behalf of the media when I see him in 2 days!"

ASUS' Super-Slim Tablet Prototype

When ASUS introduced two sizes for its Eee Pad alongside the Eee Tablet the other day, we thought that was enough. However, UMPCPortal spotted a super-slim "Epad" on Intel's booth at Computex, which actually looks even better than Monday's announcements.

The Intel spokespeople at the booth said it was merely a prototype for now, but the video below shows it's running Windows 7 and looking very finished. One USB port, a power port and 3.5mm jack are located on the base of the tablet, with a biggish button in a similar location to the iPad's 'home' button. UMPCPortal says "it looks like it's currently on the Menlow platform," which debuted in 2008 and suits these slinky MIDs.

5-inch QWERTY Android 2.1 smartphone coming from Sony Ericsson?

At the moment, Sony Ericsson only has three Android devices (the X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro), but I’m sure more will be announced this year. We’ve already reported about the upcoming Walkman Android phone, and now we’re hearing that Sony Ericsson is also readying a huge 5-inch Android smartphone.

Said smartphone also has a full QWERTY keyboard, and its display tilts up (like the display of Nokia N97).

According to this Chinese forum, the 5-inch SE handset runs Android 2.1 and it might have something to do with the rumored PSP phone.

O2 Dell Streak on sale now!

It’s Friday June 4th and it’s just gone 9am in the UK – are you heading into your nearest O2 store to pick up the Dell Streak? The first mainstream Android MID has gone on sale in-store and online, priced from free with a new contract. That gets you a 5-inch Snapdragon-based tablet, complete with 3G UMTS, WiFi, GPS and Android 1.6.

Dell are promising an update to Android 2.2 later in 2010, but they’ve slapped on a few UI enhancements of their own to tide you over. The Streak comes with a rather nifty desktop HDMI dock, too, which allows you to easily hook up the MID to your HDTV for video playback.
