Siobhan Magnus Voted off "American Idol"

The music of country singer Shania Twain spelled Siobhan Magnus' downfall on Wednesday, leaving only one woman among the five remaining finalists on "American Idol."

After 33 million votes Magnus, a tattooed, punk-styled singer from Cape Cod, Massachusetts, was eliminated from the hit television show's ninth-season despite the judges' overall praise for her rendition of "Any Man of Mine."

Magnus showed very little emotion at being voted off the singing contest, saying she had done her best before launching a farewell performance of "Think."

The other two singers at the bottom of this week's pack were Casey James and Michael Lynche. All of the performers had landed in the bottom three in past weeks, and Lynche was actually voted off by fans before being spared by the judges, who used their once-per-season save to keep him singing.

The other remaining finalists are teenager Aaron Kelly, Lee Dewyze and Crystal Bowersox, this season's last woman singing and a strong contender to win, despite uncharacteristically tepid feedback from the judges this week.

Wednesday's live broadcast included several musical performances, including Rascal Flatts singing "Unstoppable" before they teamed up with Colombian pop singer Shakira, debuting her new single "Gypsy."

Sons of Sylvia, introduced by season No. 4 winner Carrie Underwood, sang "Love Left to Lose" while Lady Antebellum took to the stage for "Need You Now."

Cameron Diaz and Antonio Banderas also made a brief appearance to promote their new movie "Shrek Forever After."

Harry Connick Jr. will next mentor the finalists for a songs-of-Sinatra themed week.

Sandra Bullock Knocks Julia Roberts Off Mag Cover

This week, PEOPLE magazine was all ready to unleash its celebrated annual listing of the most beautiful people in the world. Julia Roberts was to be the cover girl; her classic movie star features -- those eyes, that smile -- were set to grace every supermarket checkout in America. The honor marks Jules' fourth time wearing the pretty people crown and her twelfth appearance on the list.

Each year, the mag runs its list as a cover story, and it's a big one -- the issue annually ranks among PEOPLE's bestsellers.

But what happens when the mag's big reveal, which is planned well in advance, is suddenly overshadowed by a bona fide bombshell -- exclusive news that demands not only immediate coverage but a cover? Well, sadly for Miss Roberts, she gets bumped (well, not entirely, that's her up there in the corner) to make room for the bigger story. And this week, we doubt there's a much bigger story (celeb-wise) than Sandra Bullock announcing that not only has she filed for divorce, she went ahead and adopted a bouncing baby boy.

It appears Julia has been usurped by her nemesis. One's nemesis is "an opponent or rival whom a person cannot best or overcome." Julia and Sandra have been nemeses for years. Both are beautiful and talented. Both are known for starring in blockbuster romantic comedies. And both are beloved by the public in a way few movie stars these days are.

Julia Roberts Named "World's Most Beautiful" by People

Julia Roberts topped the list of People magazine's "World's Most Beautiful People" on Wednesday, marking the 12th time that the "Pretty Woman" star has appeared in the annual special issue.

Roberts, 42, the mother of 5-year-old twins and a 2 year-old son, is joined by Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Lopez on the 2010 list.

Garry Marshall, who directed Roberts in her breakout role as a prostitute with a heart of gold in the movie "Pretty Woman" 20 years ago, said she was "as beautiful as ever."

She's much more centered and calm now and not so stressed. She is quite the mom -- very nurturing," Marshall told People.

Roberts, who won an Oscar in 2001 for her lead role in "Erin Brockovich", will be seen next in August in the movie "Eat, Pray, Love" based on the best-selling book of the same name by Elizabeth Gilbert.

Ashley Greene, 23, who plays a vampire in the "Twilight" hit movie franchise, was among the newcomers to the widely-read list that annually is a measure of celebrity status.

Her "Twilight" co-star, heartthrob Robert Pattinson, as well as Canadian teen singer Justin Bieber and 2009 "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert made it to the male section of "world's most beautiful", while actresses Jessica Biel, Jessica Alba and singer Jessica Simpson were featured in a new "Beautiful Jessicas" section.

Why HP Buying Palm Is Good for You

Rejoice: HP is buying Palm! If the boring beigeness of HP doesn't kill it in the process, this could only be good for anyone looking for a neat, solid smartphone that beats Google and Apple in many areas.

What Happened

It's not the first time Palm has come back from the dead. After Palm PDAs went down, Treo and Handspring temporarily resuscitated the business. WebOS arrived late, but it looked like it may save the day for a while. The third time may be the charm: After a precipitous decline in Palm's business and several weeks of speculation, HP announced today that they're acquiring the beleaguered phone company for $1.2 billion. The deal is expected to close by July 31, the end of HP's third fiscal quarter. Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein will remain with the company, though it's not clear in what capacity.

HP buy Palm for $1.2bn

In a move that frankly none of us were expecting, HP have announced that they are buying Palm for $1.2bn. Announced today, the deal will see HP produce devices using Palm’s webOS platform; current Palm CEO Jon Rubinstein is “expected” to remain with the company.

The full details of the deal are unclear, though HP are promising a live audio webcast for financial analysts and stockholders to discuss the agreement later on today. That will take place at www.hp.com/investor/webcast and kick off at 5pm EST/2pm PT. The acquisition is expected to close by July 31st 2010.

Palm had previously been connected with Lenovo as the most likely candidate for buying the company out, after it was leaked that talks with HTC had petered out. Until the end, Rubinstein insisted that the company was still a viable prospect, suggesting only that they were considering potential webOS licensing deals rather than courting acquisition.

2010 Forbes Chinese Celebrities List: Jackie Chan is No. 1

Yesterday, Forbes announced its "2010 Forbes Chinese Celebrities List" for the 7th year in a row. For the first time, the list this year includes celebrities from all 3 regions of China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan; the order of the standings is based on the amount of money the celebrities made in the past year as well as the frequency of exposure in the media. The “overall” list takes into account artists from all 3 regions combined.

With his international superstar status, constant media exposure, and close to 200 million Yuan [Chinese Yuan / Renminbi] in earnings last year, 56 year old martial arts star Jackie Chan took the No. 1 spot overall. Last year, Jackie was the first celebrity to hold a concert at China’s Olympic venue “Bird’s Nest” and his movie "Little Big Soldier" broke the 150 million Yuan mark at the box office.

Coming in at 2nd place overall is Taiwan singer Jay Chou, who made close to 120 million Yuan. His strategy last year of branching out into other areas (singing, acting, as well as directing) paid off, taking the #2 spot and also ending up #1 in the “Singers” category among all 3 regions combined. His ex-girlfriend Jolin Tsai took the No. 7 spot, earning 46.5 million Yuan last year.

The No. 3 spot went to Hong Kong artist Andy Lau, whose ‘secret marriage’ situation was a huge focus in the entertainment industry last year. Add to that his unceasing workload throughout the year, which brought in earnings of 86.2 million Yuan.

Why Brad Pitt Thinks Jen Aniston "Is Pathetic"

Touche!

Brad Pitt couldn't help but notice a recent press clipping featuring his ex-wife Jennifer Aniston -- and he was none too pleased, a Pitt pal says in the new Us Weekly.

"Brad thinks she is pathetic," the source tells Us of a recent Aniston interview, adding that the 46-year-old actor was "disgusted" with his former spouse (the pair divorced in 2005).

"Brad feels this is all so desperate," adds the insider. "It was a ploy to get his attention."

What was Aniston's offense? Check out this week's Hot Stuff video and find out!

Sandra Bullock's Divorce Likely Won't Be Messy

Sandra Bullock's split from Jesse James will likely be a clean break, a legal expert tells PEOPLE, and the actress's new son Louis won't be an issue in the case.

Bullock filed for divorce on April 23 in Austin, Texas, where she maintains a home and discreetly used her backwards initials "B.A.S." and James's initials "J.J.G" on the paperwork.

"Her legal filing indicates that both she and Jesse are seeking an amicable settlement and that there will be no children at issue in this divorce," says Daryl Weinman, an Austin-based family law attorney who's not involved with the case. "I wouldn't be surprised if this divorce wraps up quietly within two months."

The lawyer adds that Bullock has no legal rights over James's three children and if she wants visitation, she'll have to request that from a judge in a separate proceeding. The former couple could also reach a private visitation agreement. Bullock has said she intends to remain in their lives.

Gizmodo considers suing police after iPhone raid & more

A lawyer for Gizmodo says the gadget blog could sue the sheriff's office in San Mateo County, Calif., for raiding an editor's home last Friday as part of a criminal probe into an errant iPhone prototype.

The option of a lawsuit "is available because search is not the appropriate method in this situation," Thomas R. Burke, a media lawyer and partner in the San Francisco offices of Davis Wright Tremaine, told CNET. He said the search warrant violated a California journalist shield law designed to limit searches of newsrooms.

Burke added, however, that he has been in discussions with the San Mateo County District Attorney's office and that he appreciated prosecutors' agreement not to search editor Jason Chen's seized computers, iPad, and iPhone while talks are in progress.

iPhone tethering on AT&T still waiting on better network performance

AT&T's own Ralph de la Vega mentioned as early as November of 2008 that you'd be able to tether your iPhone to your computer and use it as a modem "soon," but here we are some ten months after the initial announcement of official tethering support in the platform and there's no sign of it. Considering that many iPhone carriers around the world deployed it as soon as Apple had it ready -- and many more came online over the months to follow -- it seems that AT&T's silence on the issue has spoken volumes. We reached out to the company today to get a statement on the feature's status, and here's what we got back (text bolded by us, not AT&T):

"We understand that there is great interest in tethering but cannot provide any details at this time. We know that iPhone users love their devices and mobile broadband, and that they're likely to embrace tethering just as they have other features and apps – by using it a lot. iPhone tethering has the potential to exponentially increase traffic, and we need to ensure that we're able to deliver excellent performance for the feature – over and above the increases in data traffic we're already seeing – before we will offer the feature."

Peter Ho and Huang Xiao Ming go shirtless for sake of ratings

In hope for big ratings at the start of the show, FTV/GTV's Summer’s Desire will follow the trend of having its male leads shirtless in the first two episode in order to seduce the viewers. Peter Ho, who has previously done underwear commercials, was asked to go on screen with only his swimming briefs. Despite his previous experience, he still felt a little uneasy, “I asked the director if I could wear swimming trunks instead, but the director said that swimming trunks does not show enough pride, so he forced me to wear swimming briefs.”

Peter expressed that he felt like he was the monkey being watched in the zoo during the filming of the scene (while in his swimming briefs). He explained, “We were filming at the pool at the hotel and it was open for all to see. Although we were filming on the weekend and closed off the area, the floor above could see the pool in full through the windows. While I was filming downstairs, many people watched from above.”

f(x) Amber under criticisms again, “She’s really not a guy?”

Girlgroup f(x) member Amber has once again been caught under criticisms of her gender through her recent photoshoot.

Amber was seen doing a couple concept with the other members for the group’s latest K-Swiss photoshoot. And she was seen wearing guy’s outfit throughout the whole photoshoot, playing the role as a guy.

An official said, “Amber wears the guy outfit and plays the role of a guy, taking turns to take photos with the other members.” It was said that not only in terms of the appearance, Amber’s facial expression was also much masculine, creating the perfect couple atmosphere.

New 'Scream 4' poster, plus an interview with director Wes Craven

It’s been 10 years since his last appearance in Scream 3, but Ghostface is back for more, as is the original Scream team of director Wes Craven, screenwriter Kevin Williamson (The Vampire Diaries), and the acting trio of Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, and David Arquette. Dimension Films gave EW.com the first look at the final teaser poster for Scream 4, which will hit theaters April 15, 2011. Horror movie maestro Craven, who’ll start shooting the new sequel this June, kindly set aside a few minutes to chat about the fourth entry in his memorably meta series.

EW: So how did Scream 4 come together?
WES CRAVEN: Bob Weinstein [the head of Dimension Films] felt that 10 years was enough of a wait. He felt it was time to give the original three films their due, so he called Kevin Williamson, who started coming up with ideas. For some years, Kevin had the notion of the general course of the next three movies. There was a point where Bob came to me and said, “We want to start showing you pages — do you want to do it?” And off we went.

Did you have any trepidation about revisiting the series so many years down the road?
No, I’m fascinated by what this movie is. I can’t think of another film that has not only a true trilogy, where you’re following a single central character over three pictures, but has the complexity to the story and other characters that also have continued along. And then 10 years later, to come back to those same characters and same actors, and continue that story in a way that’s totally organic. It’s kind of unprecedented.

Lindsay Lohan “Celebrity Rehab” $1 Million Offer

Lindsay Lohan won’t be getting a reprieve from her heavily-rumored cashflow troubles by checking in with Dr. Drew.

The actress — who is reportedly deep in debt after being out of work for nearly a year — pooh-poohed a $1 million offer to appear on VH1’s addiction-centered reality series Celebrity Rehab, Sober House, and a possible third spinoff presently in the works.

Bret Michaels Is Conscious and Talking

After days of bad news regarding Bret Michaels, finally there's a good sign: The Poison rocker and 'Celebrity Apprentice' contestant is reportedly conscious and slowly speaking for the first time since being hospitalized with a brain hemorrhage last week.

Michaels' rep confirms to PEOPLE that the singer is alert and speaking, though few other details were given.

Michaels, 47, was taken to the hospital on April 22 because he was suffering a horrific headache, which turned out to be a major hemorrhage at the base of his brain. He was in critical condition, but has recently been upgraded to stable.

Then, on April 27, his team revealed that Bret suffered a "minor setback" in the form of a disorder that may now cause him to suffer from seizures. There's no word if he has actually suffered a seizure already, or if his hemorrhage simply led to a condition that could trigger seizures in the future.

Flash Player 'Gala' brings hardware decoding support to Mac OS X

Even amidst all their fighting, it appears Apple and Adobe can manage to lay down arms and work together every once in a while: Apple just enabled low-level access to NVIDIA GeForce 9400M, 320M and GT 330M H.264 GPU hardware in Mac OS X 10.6.3, and Adobe's followed up six days later with a new preview version of Flash Player code-named "Gala" that takes advantage of it. That's good news for anyone who's ever heard their fans spin up while watching a YouTube video on a Mac (so, everyone) but we doubt it means there's any détente on larger issues between these two coming -- Apple remains committed to HTML5, while Adobe's pulled all investment from iPhone-related Flash development, and the company's relationship with Google seems to be heating up. We'll take what we can get, we suppose -- we'll hit you with some benchmarks just as soon as we get things installed.

Apple has Siri, Microsoft has Tellme

The big Apple news of the day is that Apple has now purchased Siri. It was rumored and tweeted and now confirmed, according to a BusinessWeek article citing a managing director at Melo Ventures, a Siri investor.

Before you think that Apple now has the upper hand, let me remind you of an acquisition that Microsoft made for approximately $800 million back in March of 2007. The company was Tellme, and offers a voice-enabled platform.

At the time of the acquisition, Microsoft had big plans for its Tellme technology, including using it to

“enhance Microsoft’s many voice-enabled applications, including the Windows Vista operating system, the Microsoft Office system, and mobile applications such as Windows Mobile and Windows Automotive.”

Unfortunately, it looks like the Microsoft folks forgot about the quote above, and have yet to introduce the Tellme technology into its mobile offering.

Yahoo Sends Nonsensical Email To Disposable Email Users

A reader forwarded the email below from Yahoo announcing changes to their disposable email address. The only problem is that he couldn’t figure out what it’s trying to say. And after reading it a handful of times, I can’t figure it out either.

Yahoo’s disposable email product lets users give out, well, disposable email addresses. If spam starts to hit that address, you just turn it off.

We asked Yahoo if they know what it means – they say they’ll get back to us. Meanwhile, if anyone else got this, please let us know. And a free TechCrunch tshirt to anyone who can explain what it means.

Sawajiri Erika in happy mood despite divorce

The divorce between actress Sawajiri Erika (24) and hypermedia creator Takashiro Tsuyoshi (45) is already official and there are already follow-up rumors regarding her alleged new and rich French lover, her upcoming contract with Avex and her Hollywood debut this fall.

Today Sawajiri made her first public appearance since the news about her divorce. It was the opening party for famed photographer Ninagawa Mika's (37) new photo exhibition. Sawajiri arrived with a black Mercedes and the first thing that appealed to the eyes of the present journalists were her beautiful legs. No wonder, after all she was wearing a very short white dress and even 10cm high heels to show off her legs even more. She didn't seem like a heartbroken woman at all, but the divorce was her initiative after all. Takashiro is said to have only found out about the divorce by the media. No, today she totally enjoyed the flurry of camera flashes and turned her arrival into a fashion show while never losing that very bright smile of hers.

Of course it was only the first time since her wedding that the journalists were able to spot her and take pictures of her without her wedding ring on her left ring finger. They've also tried to ask her about the divorce. "How are the divorce talks progressing? – Can you please say something to your worried fans? – Have you talked with Takashiro?" However, she remained completely silent during her 5 minutes in public. After 30 minutes she left the event and reporters tried to get a comment again, but all she said was hello.

Full MV to E.via ‘Shake’!

Earlier today, E.Via unveiled the mini-album titled Must Have. Now she releases the music video for her title booty shakin’ title track Shake!.

E.Via made her debut back in 2009 with Oppa Can I Do It, but due to the intense sexual nature of the song, the track was banned from the public media and her album was slapped with a 19+ rating.

The full music video is definitely more sexual than the initial teaser that was released as women shake their junk in skimpy outfits. But in spite of this, E.Via still lays down a sick beat and busts out her infamous speed rapping, a skill that she has been praised for and has even earned her the title of “the female Outsider”.

FTV will air Summer’s Desire at the end of May

Great news for fans that have been waiting for the release of Summer’s Desire. The drama starring Peter Ho, Barbie Xu and Huang Xiao-Ming was previously rumored to be turning away buyers because of the cast’s age. Fortunately, it was finally picked up by FTV and is expected to hit the air at the end of May. Huang Xiao-Ming has already requested time off from his current movie to promote the series in Taiwan next month. The three A-listers’ stylists, plane tickets and living arrangements for the 4-day promotion are said to cost more than 2 million (NTD).

Summer’s Desire was adapted from author Ming Xiao-Xi’s best-seller by the same name. The story depicts the relationship of two men and a woman, and has been described as the idol version of the “Flower” series (popular Taiwanese soap opera from the 90s.) The HD production alongside with its love-hate melodrama is expected to attract audiences outside of the idol drama core. FTV hopes it will continue their Sunday drama programming as they have been airing Kimura Takuya’s classic series in the time slot.

Tiger and Elin Woods' Divorce: Who Will File First?

Elin Nordegren is so over Tiger Woods. That's the consensus from everything we've read, and it's hard to blame the woman. But is Tiger over his wife, as well?

All indications are still that a divorce is "100 percent happening," and it's not just the endless parade of cocktail waitress mistresses that solidified their fate.

"The writing is on the wall," says a well-versed source close to Tiger. "He committed to several additional golf tournaments, which effectively says eff you, Elin."

"She was not in support of him returning to golf. His self-imposed hiatus didn't last; he screwed up at the Masters and left his calm, collected image in ruins."

Steve Carell might leave 'The Office'

Dunder Mifflin Corporate won’t be happy about this. Steve Carell recently dropped a bombshell at the tail end of a BBC interview. The interviewer noted that Carell’s contract with The Office only runs through next season. Carell: “That will probably be my last year.” (NBC is not commenting on the interview.)

This may just be the opening salvo in a year-long salary negotiation (this is an NBC sitcom, after all), but if you ask me, Carell’s departure could be the best thing to happen to The Office. It could give next season an added emotional heft, not to mention the sure-to-be-hysterical turf war that could ensue over who gets to take over as head honcho of the Scranton branch. And most of this season has been spent on building up the minor characters (as in the Erin-Andy romance). It’s always hard for a show to survive without its star, but talent runs deep in the Office bench.

Beyonce Drops Out Of “A Star Is Born” Remake

After months of speculation Angry Aussie Russell Crowe has confirmed reports that he’s in talks to take on Kris Kristofferson’s role in the latest remake of the cinema classic A Star is Born – but in a crushing blow to “Sasha Fierce” fans everywhere, Beyonce is no longer attached to the project.

“I think she’s pulled out of it. I’m still chatting about it. It’s one of those stories that’s been made a lot, but I think it’s still quite a big focus – you can see that in terms of the popularity of things like American Idol,” Russ blabbed to TV’s Extra this week.

Ricky Gervais to Host Golden Globes – Again

Get ready for another round of jokes from Ricky Gervais. The British funnyman will take on hosting duties at the Golden Globes in 2011, his second year in a row as the show's emcee.

Gervais broke the news on Ryan Seacrest's 102.7 KIIS-FM radio show Wednesday morning, admitting he was shocked to find out that he was invited back to helm the awards show.

"I suppose it is flattering, to be honest, and it was a surprise," Gervais, 48, told Seacrest. "I had so much fun [last year]."

The comedian, who, during the 2010 ceremony, cracked some jokes "thinking I'd never be invited back," says he's taking a different approach to his hosting duties this year.

"I'm going to go all out this time," he explains. "I'm going to make sure they're never going to invite me back!"

The 68th Annual Golden Globes will air Jan. 16 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT live on NBC.

Jessica Alba dives in to save the day as Kate Hudson has a Marilyn Monroe moment on the red carpet

Kate Hudson was left fighting for her modesty following an unfortunate gust of wind on the red carpet in New York last night.

The actress had chosen to wear a thigh-skimming Louis Vuitton little black dress for her appearance at the premiere of her new film The Killer Inside Me at the Tribeca Film Festival.

But she ended up exposing far more than she had intended after the dress blew up in the breeze, inadvertently recreating Marilyn Monroe's famous Seven Year Itch scene.

Luckily her co-star Jessica Alba was on hand to help, diving in quickly to pull the hemline down.

Sandra Bullock: I Secretly Adopted a Son, Filed for Divorce & more

Sandra Bullock has dropped a different kind of bombshell than her estranged husband, Jesse James.

The Oscar-winning actress reveals to PEOPLE that in January she adopted a boy from New Orleans.

Her newborn son, Louis Bardo Bullock, is three months old. She and James began the adoption process four years ago, before becoming parents earlier this year. His name was chosen because Bullock heard Louis Armstrong's 'What a Wonderful World' when she first met the baby boy.

The couple decided to keep the news to themselves until after the Oscars. "I did not want him brought into a world that would not have been too sincere to him as I wanted. I wanted to be alone with him as long as I could then we had to tell his story," she said, MSNBC reports.

Unfortunately, just days after Bullock took home her trophy, James' many affairs came to light. The actress says she is now adopting as a single parent and is divorcing her husband, according to PEOPLE.

"Yes, I have filed for divorce," she told the magazine, adding that she is "sad and scared" about it.

HTC Android phones use Microsoft technologies, Microsoft licenses patents to HTC

HTC and Microsoft have been perfect for each other since a long time ago, and the result of this strong partnership can be easily seen if we look at HTC’s portfolio of Windows Mobile smartphones (more than 30 of them, launched almost all over the world, via many mobile carriers).

However, since Google’s Android came into play in late 2008, it seems as though HTC has starting to neglect Windows Mobile more and more.

In the light of this, it’s interesting how now – only now – Microsoft has unveiled that HTC’s Android smartphones are using technology patented by the Redmond giant. In consequence, HTC had to make an agreement with Microsoft, and it will pay royalties for using its patents. I assume that if HTC had stick to making Windows smartphones only, this wouldn’t have happened.

Apple announces WWDC gets underway June 7th

Apple have announced the dates for their Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC 2010), which will kick off on June 7th 2010 and offer coders the first ever iPad development sessions together with working labs for iPhone OS 4. Registration for the five day event is now open, with sessions including “Using HTML5 Local Data Storage” and “Integrating Ads with iAd“.

Game Center will also be heavily covered, with developers shown how to integrate Apple’s online multitplayer system with their titles. We’re also guessing that “Adopting Multitasking on iPhone OS” will be a popular session, as devs get to grips with iPhone OS 4.0’s ability to run some APIs in the background.

Ah Sa and Ah Gil's breakup rumours to be realized?

After two stormy years in both their work and relationships, Hong Kong girl group Twins once again held a concert at the Coliseum. Ah Sa and Ah Gil embraced each other in a fierce hug littered with bitter tears, worrying that "This will be Twins last concert." Their EEG Music manager Mani Fok also furthered the rumours in a statement to the media afterwards, saying that the pair would go their separate ways, "There's no reason for them to work together all the time."

Due to Ah Gil's sex scandal involving Edison Chen, the Twins concert that was scheduled for 08 was pushed back until this year. Shortly before they opened, it was Ah Sa's turn to reveal her secret four year marriage with Ronald Cheng, and their current divorce proceedings, their emotions had suffered a huge hit.

Leona Lewis gives Simon Cowell's 'lovely' fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy her seal of approval

Leona Lewis has given her mentor Simon Cowell's fiancée Mezhgan Hussainy her backing - describing the make-up artist as 'lovely'.

The singer, currently based near the couple in Los Angeles, says 'She has the Leona Lewis seal of approval'.

X Factor supremo Cowell, 50, proposed to Mezhgan on Valentine's Day and gave her a £250,000 diamond engagement ring.

But while Leona is pleased for the couple, she has no plans to follow them down the aisle.

iPhone HD saga continues: lawyers retained & shield laws doubted

The stolen/lost/misplaced iPhone HD saga continues, with news that – in the aftermath of Gizmodo editor Jason Chen coming home and discovering police had raided his house in the hunt for incriminating evidence of the $5k deal – Chen has hired a criminal lawyer to represent him while Gawker retained a First Amendment specialist to advise them on their case. The company maintains that Chen – and the other staff involved – are protected by California’s journalism shield laws; however at least one legal expert has suggested that such a defence has been incompletely tested by the courts.

According to law professor Orin Kerr, “the claim here is that the law doesn’t allow state officials to get warrants even if the claim is that the reporters themselves have engaged in crimes. But the California law doesn’t clearly make that distinction, as best I can tell.” Meanwhile Eugene Volokh has suggested that Gizmodo’s claims of not knowing the providence of the iPhone HD prototype – whether it was stolen or otherwise – may be difficult to prove one way or the other. He points to a previous case which deemed that “It is not necessary that the defendant be told directly that the property was stolen. Knowledge may be circumstantial and deductive.”

Charlene Choi plays "resist but welcoming" girl in William Chan's new MV

William Chan was shooting for the MV to his new song "穿心箭" and asked big sister Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) to be the female lead. William is a bartender in the MV and had always had a crush on Ah Sa, but was afraid to confess to her, until one night. In the MV, Ah Sa and her boyfriend got into a fight, so she drank a lot, which gave William the opportunity to take another step in the relationship. Ah Sa and William had many intimate scenes, but the director wanted Ah Sa togive off a "resist but welcoming" feeling. On camera, the feminine feeling was written all over Ah Sa, William looked helpless.

Asked if William has experienced this kind of situation before? William said: "Nope. I have been drunk before, but I only laugh constantly when I'm drunk, not as good as the male lead in the MV."

GACKT and Nishikawa are Sharing Thoughts on Ex-Wife Openly

On April 25th, GACKT, Nishikawa Takanori and DAIGO haven been guests in the talk show program [Bokura no Jidai / Our Time]. Apart from being (former) Visual-kei artists, what are other things the three of them can relate with?

The meeting between GACKT and Nishikawa was certainly of the different kind. As the two of them hadn't had the chance to talk for a long time, their fans came to think, that GACKT actually hated Nishikawa. However, in the program they appeared in together, they really seemed to feel a lot of sympathy towards each other. When it came to DAIGO, however, the two stated that they were still a little shy towards him, which left DAIGO greatly surprised as such, using his signature phrase "Maji suka (Are you serious)?".
