New BlackBerry Pearl 9100 hands-on photos show dedicated music keys

The unannounced BlackBerry Pearl 9100 has recently appeared in new photos (hands-on, this time) – so it might not be long until RIM decides to officially unveil it.

As mentioned before, the BlackBerry 9100 is the successor of the Pearl 8100, 8110 and 8120 smartphones. The new Pearl 9100 has a form factor that resembles the old models, but it obviously looks better.

The 9100 features 3G, Wi-Fi, an optical trackpad, SureType QWERTY keyboard, and a 3MP camera with LED flash. The handset also comes with dedicated music keys on the top side, which means RIM might market it as a multimedia smartphone.

Reese Witherspoon's Birthday Getaway with Jim Toth

Reese Witherspoon looked relaxed and happy as she celebrated her 34th birthday with her new man, Hollywood agent Jim Toth, on a low-key visit to Ojai, Calif., this weekend.

Smiling, holding hands and sporting baseball caps and sunglasses, the couple were spotted on Saturday at a farmer's market in Ojai, which is in Ventura County, near Santa Barbara.

Witherspoon, whose actual birthday is Monday, has been linked to Toth, 39, since early February. She and Jake Gyllenhaal quietly split in December.

The quiet weekend was in contrast to the Oscar winner's 33rd birthday, when she was feted with a surprise birthday party at the Los Angeles premiere of Monsters vs. Aliens.

Nadine Coyle joins Boyzone on stage for emotional Stephen Gately tribute night

Just five months ago, they received the shattering news that their beloved band member and 'brother' had died.

But last night Boyzone ensured Stephen Gately's memory lived on as they sang some of their favourite songs during an hour-long tribute.

The boys - Ronan Keating, Keith Duffy, Mikey Graham and Shane Lynch - were joined by a host of stars on stage for special one-off commemorative performances.

Ogling Britney Spears: A Time-Honored Pastime

Britney Spears was pretty messed up in the head at one point. Having been a star her entire adult life, the various demands and pressures just got to her.

We're beginning to understand why.

Having gone back to blonde, the bombshell stopped at a local 76 gas station to grab an orange soda and a fellow petroleum consumer couldn't help herself.

Wow. Way to be subtle, lady. Sure you couldn't swoop in for a hug while you're at it? Nice to see that Britney has again determined that bras are optional ...

No word if Jason Trawick, Britney's boyfriend and agent, who has been the subject of many breakup rumors over the last few weeks, was there to witness this.

Either way, a shameless amateur photographer clearly was ... as was a professional photographer, taking a picture of the amateur. At least the latter got paid.

AT&T Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus confirmed

There have been a lot of rumors about webOS smartphones headed to AT&T, and now it’s finally official: Palm has announced that its Pre Plus and Pixi Plus will indeed be launched by the second largest US carrier.

However, as if it’s not already a bit too late, the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus won’t be available right away – but only “in the coming months”.

AT&T will sell the Palm Pre Plus for $149.99 and the Palm Pixi Plus for $49.99 (both with a 2-yr contract agreement and after a $100 mail-in rebate).

Dell Aero (Mini 3) to be AT&T’s second Android phone

The same day when it announced the upcoming availability of Palm Pre Plus and Pixi Plus, AT&T has also unveiled its second Android phone (after the Motorola BackFlip): it’s the Dell Aero – also known as Dell Mini 3.

No word yet on what version of Android OS the Dell Aero runs, but, according to AT&T, the smartphone will come with “a new, beautiful custom user interface developed by Dell and AT&T”

AT&T didn’t announce when the Dell Aero will be available, and neither for what price.

LG Remarq LN240 QWERTY phone coming to Sprint

LG has announced some of the phones that it plans to showcase at CTIA Wireless 2010 (which debuts tomorrow), and it looks like there are only tow new devices among them: LG Remark LN240 for Sprint, and another handset for Verizon.

The LG Remark LN240 has a landscape display (probably QVGA) and a vertical sliding QWERTY keyboard. Its other features are not know, and neither are its price and release date via Sprint.

There’s also a new phone for Verizon, but LG didn’t announce its name – it’s horizontal slider resembling the LG Rumor.

Tiger Woods on his behavior: 'It was disgusting'

In preparation for his much-anticipated return to competitive golf next month at the Masters, Tiger Woods gave five minute interviews with the Golf Channel and ESPN today and talked about getting “out of control” and being “disgusted” with his behavior. Interviewed at the Isleworth Country Club in Windermere, Fla., Woods also talked about how he thinks his late father would react if he were alive today. ”He’d be very disappointed in me,” Woods told Golf Channel’s Kelly Tilghman. “We’d have numerous long talks. That’s one of the things I miss, I miss his guidance, wish I could have had his guidance through all this to have him straighten me up.”

Woods, whose eyes appeared red while talking to Tilghman, talked about his experience in rehabilitation even though he didn’t specify why he was undergoing treatment. “Being there for 45 days you learn a lot,” he said. “You strip away the denial, the rationalization and you come to the truth and the truth is very painful at times and to stare at yourself and look at the person you’ve become…you become disgusted.”

When asked how he got out of control, Woods explained it was because he was “going against core values, quit meditating, I quit being a Buddhist. I felt I was entitled. I hurt so many people by my reckless attitude and behavior.” As for the children who consider him a role model, Woods hopes time will heal all wounds. ”I’m trying to become a better person each and every day. The proof in pudding is over time.”

Robert Pattinson Blasts Gay Rumors

DON’T worry, girls — Robert Pattinson isn’t gay!

The hunky Twilight star, 23, has spoken out to set the record straight (pun intended!) on rumors about his sexuality.

In an interview with Britain’s The Times newspaper, Pattinson — who famously declared he’s “allergic” to vagina — insisted he’s “straight” and that he found the male-on-male sex scenes he had to perform in a film, Little Ashes, last year “strange”.

“I played Salvador Dali,” he said. “We were both straight, but he was Spanish, so much more confident about being naked and stuff, although when it comes down to it, it’s just as awkward with a girl, especially if you are straight and with a girl you don’t like…

“Anyway, Javier was really cool. After we had been pretending to have sex on this balcony in Barcelona, he was like, ‘We have such a strange job…’”

Recent reports claimed Rob has a secret girlfriend, Kelly Blakewell, who lives back home in London.

What does Google really know about advertising?

Google has been following me around lately.

I'm not sure if I've made one inadvertent comment too many about my liberal lords and masters, but whichever Web page I happen to visit in order to seek some temporary respite from my complicated life, there I find an ad suggesting I should buy a Nexus One.

Actually, it's hard to call these things "ads." They're little pictures of the Nexus One. Some have no message to speak of. Others enjoy lines such as "it's ultra-light." This is a line I associate most closely with cigarettes, so I don't know whether Google wants to get me into the habit of thinking about the Nexus One every 5 minutes, but somehow I haven't yet inhaled.

I'm told the Nexus One is an abject failure. Or not. Apparently, Google said it only expected to sell 150,000 of these precious devices. Apparently, the company is walking a terribly fine line between upsetting carriers right now or upsetting carriers in the future. How admitting that you're going to upset them in the future doesn't upset them right now, I'm not sure.

Will iPad Sales Beat the iPhone? Who Cares?

Conflicting reports have surfaced for the last week about how well Apple's still-unreleased iPad is selling, how well it will sell, and whether it'll make more of a dent in the market than the iPhone's debut.

Most recently, unnamed sources told the Wall Street Journal that "hundreds of thousads" of iPads have sold since pre-orders began a week ago, and one source thinks the iPad's three-month sales will outdo the iPhone. But hold on: A bookie (no, seriously) gives only a 28 percent chance of the iPad beating the iPhone to one million units sold.

I don't really care for those predictions. Here are a few reasons why:

DMW Media speaks up about Jaebeom’s potential in U.S. market

2PM’s former leader Jaebeom, otherwise known as Jay Park of Art of Movement (AOM), has made quite an impact to the K-pop scene through a single clip of video he posted via Youtube. Although, to a passerby, it may seem no different than any other covers around, Jaebeom’s Nothin’ on You received titles as the Most Subscribed of the Month (now at #2), Most Viewed Video of the Week and more, after five days of its emergence on Youtube.

Of course, there is no doubt that the video has caught the attention of media in U.S. as well. On March 18th, a prominent media source, Digital Media Wire (commonly known as DMW) featured Jay Park himself through an article entitled, “Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, MySpace and the Story of Jay Park (AKA Jaebeom Park).” As the title suggests, the article narrated the ups and downs that Jaebeom has gone through.

Twins adds 3rd show to the original 2 show concert in April

Next month, TWINS will be holding their two show concert at Hong Kong Coliseum. It was also announced that an extra show will be added for April 18th, following the original two shows on the 16th and 17th. According to sources after the announcement, the ticket sales had positive responses. As the twins Gillian Chung and Charlene Choi have been quite nervous on their comeback performance, when Twins learned of the news of an additional show, they happily expressed: "what a relief".

Absent from the music scene for two years, Twins will be releasing their new album on Friday this week. In the new album, besides having Twins new songs, there will also be Gillian's solo album included. On Sunday, Twins invited a group of fans for a bus tour and hot pot to show their appreciation of fans support.

Michelle Bombshell McGee Stripping Video

Michelle Bombshell McGee is the gift that keeps on giving, and she continues to make headlines, this time with the release of a video featuring her stripping.

This isn’t exactly a surprise to anyone who has seen McGee’s website, it seems like she’s a fetish model/possible sex worker, so a video of her stripping was probably inevitable. I’m sure all that’s left at this point is a Michelle Bombshell McGee sex tape to complete things (I mean we’ve got her in a Nazi fetish photoshoot already …)/ Check out the Michelle Bombshell Mcgee stripping video after the jump:

Why Apple Won't Be Launching a Search Engine Any Time Soon

It's hard to believe that a year ago, Google and Apple were still best friends. Google CEO Eric Schmidt was on Apple's board. Plenty of Google employees proudly showed off their iPhones. All seemed fine as the two companies took on their common enemy, Microsoft.

Today, Eric Schmidt is off the Apple board, gone since last August. Googlers wave their new Google Nexus One Android phones around. Apple CEO Steve Jobs makes remarks about Google wanting to kill the iPhone. Schmidt suggests the iPad is nothing more than a big phone.

What happened? Google, the company that seems to know no bounds, went too far for Apple. It pushed its own browser, Chrome. It pushed its own mobile-phone platform, Android. It pushed its own operating system, Chrome OS. It transformed from Apple partner into Apple competitor, encroaching into key Apple product areas.

FoxTrot Discovers One Comic That Just Won't Work On the iPad

FoxTrot uses the geekiest of comic book humor to rake the iPad and its lack of flash over the coals. Funny because it's true! Pretty brilliant Sunday strip, Mr. Amend, just be wary of visitors from Cupertino.

Chinese media slam Google as 'politicized'

Chinese state media criticized Google in an apparent coordinated effort Saturday as becoming a political tool--just days before the Web giant may announce its withdrawal from that country.

The Web giant, which has been criticized by privacy and human rights advocates for censoring search results deemed objectionable by the Chinese government, recently announced that it intended to stop censoring search results and might stop doing business in the country entirely.

"Google's actions show that the world's biggest search engine company has abandoned its business principles and instead shows the world a face that is totally politicized," China Radio International wrote in an editorial.

American politicians may be glad to see Google being politicized but this is no doubt a tragedy for a famous multinational company which has gained its reputation and advantages by one innovation after another in the Internet field.

How can people believe that the company's search results are without any bias when it lacks independence as well as business ethics?

After School releases MV teaser for new song ‘Bang!’

`Alice' Still Reigns at Box Office With $34.5M

Alice remains the queen of the box office.

Johnny Depp and Tim Burton's "Alice in Wonderland" took in $34.5 million to remain the No. 1 movie for a third-straight weekend, according to studio estimates Sunday.

The Disney release raised its domestic haul to $265.8 million and its worldwide total to $565.8 million after just three weekends in theaters, a huge result for a film playing in the typically slow month of March.

"You rarely see this kind of domination by one movie at this time of year," said Paul Dergarabedian, box-office analyst for Hollywood.com. "Normally at this time of year, films don't make this kind of money, and they don't hold in this long."

"Alice in Wonderland" easily beat a rush of new movies led by 20th Century Fox's family film "Diary of a Wimpy Kid," which opened at No. 2 with $21.8 million. The movie is adapted from Jeff Kinney's cartoon novel about a sixth grader maneuvering through the intricate social structure at his middle school, which includes its own "cooties" game known as the "cheese touch."

Police Called to Sandra Bullock and Jesse James' Home

Sandra Bullock is still MIA but that doesn't mean the drama at her home with Jesse James has slowed a bit.

Cops were called to their block with reports of "someone yelling in a vehicle," the Orange County Sheriff's Department tells E! News.

Alas, the chaos wasn't caused by James or his tattoo-covered supposed mistress, Michelle "Bombshell" McGee. Authorities on the scene claim they "discovered members of the media" as the source of the trouble, but "cleared the area" with no arrests.

Turns out James' oldest daughter Chandler, as well as a neighbor, were to the ones who called the police.

But that wasn't the only action in Jesse's life today...

The Monster Garage star was seen driving his black pickup truck more than 90 mph down the Pacific Coast Highway earlier today in an attempt to lose the paparazzi following closely behind him. He was so detemined, he even gave up on pavement!

T-Mobile's HTC HD2 gets purchased and unboxed early (video)

T-Mobile's not officially selling its world-beating HD2 until Wednesday, but if you've a Walmart nearby and hankering to get HTC's latest and greatest a few days early, it might be worth a trip out. JDMiPhoner managed to score one from his local Wally World a full four days early, and he's been kind enough to unbox it, boot it up and give us a few first impressions on video. Is it really worth a couple of Benjamins with Windows Phone 7 Series just a few months away? Head on past the break if you'd care to be reminded of just how painful it is to know that this WinMo 6.5-packin' gem won't ever be upgradable (natively, anyway) to WP7S.

Neofonie announces WePad 11.6-inch Android slate

Another day, another Android tablet render. This one, the imaginatively titled WePad, is as ambitious as its name might suggest. (You know, because "we" is plural of "I"? Yeah, it's a stretch.) Dwarfing the iPad with its 11.6-inch (1366 x 768) display, a 1.66GHz Intel Atom N450 processor, GMA 3150 graphics, webcam, two USB ports, flash card reader, UMTS modem, and a mooted six hours of battery life, we could see ourselves picking one up -- provided the price point is decent. But that's just the beginning! The manufacturer, Neofonie, also has designs on a WePad app store and, if all goes according to plan, this thing'll sport genuine Google Android and the Android Market. The company also mentions something called the "WeMagazine publishing ecosystem," the basis of a turn-key operation for getting your own branded device out on the e-reader market, so if you're looking to get into the biz just hit the source link to begin your adventure. As for us, we'll wait to see a final product before we jump to any conclusions.

Google China Closing Up Shop on April 18

All of this mess with Google, China, and Google China has come to a head as of late. We’ve seen Google be the brunt of brute-force cyber attacks, before which they were trying to uncensor a nation of censorship. And now it seems that the word getting pushed around is that Google is about ready to close up shop, and it’s happening sooner than we imagined it would.

Google has been positive about their presence in China, with some assuming that the company would shift in their views and positions, or at least figure out a way to work with the Chinese government to meet both their needs. But, there’s no surprise that the two of them probably couldn’t come to an agreement. Even if the last few things swirling around was that Google would be sticking around, with hopes of keeping the Google China employees, you know, employed, it’s looking like that’s not going to be the case after all.

Ella Teases that Jerry is No Sweet-Talker, Hence, Unable to Woo Girls

Ella’s luck in romance has always been blooming. She was once said to be dating musician Chen Xi, and speculated to be in past romances with Jerry Huang and Wu Chun respectively. Even Baron Chen, whom she has not collaborated with, was once rumoured to be her boyfriend by the media. However all these “romances” all died down eventually. Recently she has filmed CTV and GTV’s idol drama – [Down With Love] and her co-star, Jerry Yan, was the only male artiste whom she was not rumoured to be in a romantic relationship with, amongst her co-stars. In response to media probes, Ella said, she has learned now to enjoy her life by herself. As she is apprehensive of “troubles”, she would look for someone outside the entertainment circle if she is to fall in love again. She will definitely not lose her head when love strikes next time.

Ella shared that she would be like a “little woman” in romance. But having gone through a few heartbreaks, she has realized that “Girls would, firstly, need to love themselves and seek independence, before they would exude individual charms unique to them.” In the past, she used to like to spend a lot of time with her other half, with daily calls etc, but now she felt there is no need for such “stickiness”. “I will not die without love. Though, it is a nice-to-have.” She teased that Jerry is no sweet-talker and belong more to the “actions speak louder than words” kind of guys. But on the contrary, girls usually prefer to listen to the “sweet nothings”. “I can understand why his love life is still empty.”

ELVA and S.H.E show their support for A-Mei

A-Mei returned to the Taipei Arena last night as Amit for her second show. She went all out and even needed two cans of oxygen in order to keep going. The organizers were fined NT$100,000 for going over time on the first show, which didn’t finish until 11:26 pm. She kneeled down on stage and bowed to her fans numerous times to show her gratitude.

The excitement of the fans kept the temperature and carbon dioxide at a high level throughout the show. A-Mei described, “After the fast songs segment, it felt like a heat wave was coming towards me from the audience.” She was suffocating at times and looked for canned oxygen for some relieve. The staff prepared 20 cans of oxygen for the second night. She used up 2 cans during the show and her legs were cramping after leaving the stage.

Maggie Cheung falls in love with producing music

Last night, Maggie Cheung attended "RODARTE X UNICEF Charity Event" and expressed that she just got back to Hong Kong after completing some music work and is quite tired. Asked what she is busy with lately? She said that she's busy working on music. Turns out that in her ex-husband Ah Sat's directed film "Clean", she had to sing 4 songs and met a group of music people. Under their encouragement, they played with producing music. She participated in composing music, singing and used computer programs for audio editing.

She said: "I currently like to produce music more than filming. I have played many different types of roles before, so I need to encounter a fresh new role in order to feel that its a challenge. Also, movies don't just end after filming, have to spend another few months to do constant promotions and interviews. Music is different, just two people can compose a few songs, it's much more simple with a greater feeling of accomplishment." Is she going to make her music compositions public? She said that she might upload them online, people who like to listen can do so. She said: "I really enjoy my current life, but it's not that I'm going to stop filming, just letting it flow naturally."
