Remembering Michael Jackson One Year Later

Tomorrow (Friday, Some Places Today) marks the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson's death, and perspective is a funny thing. For some, his eccentricities and scandals have fallen behind louder, happier memories of his music and flair. For others, not so much.

"In death, Michael achieved something he could not in life -- a washing away of the controversies that dogged him and a unity of appreciation for his talent and legacy," David Perel, creator and executive vice president of RadarOnline.com, tells PopEater. "There is a much greater recognition of his role as a family man and devoted father. Much of his music has been rediscovered and a new appreciation for the artist and his immense talent has emerged."

We took to the streets of New York City to find out how the public remembers the King of Pop a year after he left us.

Red Carpet Quotes: Stars Spill at Eclipse Premiere

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is finally here, and E! staked out the red carpet tonight at L.A.'s Nokia Theatre.

Here's what all the castmembers and celebs had to say as they hit the biggest premiere of the year:

"R.Pattz fever is a lot louder than George Clooney fever. The younger girls are a little louder."
—Anna Kendrick on whose fans are more intense, Rob's or George Clooney's

"In like five years or 10 years, we'll have a much better perspective on what happened and what's happening, and then we'll give much better interviews. Right now, I don't know what to say except I can't believe it."
—Nikki Reed on what she thinks of the phenomenal Twilight success

Box office preview: 'Knight & Day' and 'Grown Ups' are no match for 'Toy Story 3'

From the looks of it, Fox is determined to score a hit with their Tom Cruise-Cameron Diaz-starrer Knight & Day. Not only has the studio has spent gobs of money selling the romantic spy caper, but they also moved up its opening to Wednesday in order to get ahead of Adam Sandler’s big summer comedy Grown Ups. But will any of it work? Reviews have been mixed, and with a debut of $3.8 million yesterday, it’s quite possible Tom Cruise’s return to the summer blockbuster may only generate a bronze medal in this weekend’s race to the finish. Grown Ups, in contrast, is likely to do the kind of business Sony and Sandler are used to doing together when Sandler goes right down the middle with his comedies. Still, the movie everyone is talking about — Toy Story 3 — will take the top spot for the second weekend in a row. The Pixar flick, which has earned over $43 million additional dollars during the week, will likely drop around 40 percent its second weekend in theaters. Read on for my predictions.

Apple Acknowledges iPhone 4 Reception Issues, Says Don't Hold It Like That

So, we just spoke with Apple and got the straight dirt on the reception issues that have been plaguing users today... and it's a little surprising. In essence, Apple cops to the fact there are reception issues with the new iPhone -- namely, that if you cover the bottom-left corner of the phone and bridge the gap between the notch there with your naked flesh, you could see some signal degradation. Yes, you read that right: it's not a software or production issue, simply a matter of the physical location of your hand in regards to the phone's antenna. The company's suggested fix? Move your hand position, or get a case which covers that part of the phone, thus breaking contact. As you can see in the email above which just arrived in our tip box, this is a sentiment which runs pretty high at the company. Here's the official statement:

Gripping any mobile phone will result in some attenuation of its antenna performance, with certain places being worse than others depending on the placement of the antennas. This is a fact of life for every wireless phone. If you ever experience this on your iPhone 4, avoid gripping it in the lower left corner in a way that covers both sides of the black strip in the metal band, or simply use one of many available cases.

iPhone 4 Test Notes: FaceTime

Videocalling has been a sci-fi staple for decades. From 2001 to Back to the Future people chatting face-to-face from great distances was a way of saying "Hey, look, it's the future!" So does Facetime mean we're in the future?

FaceTime is Apple's stab at making videocalling a reality. They're certainly not the first: European and Asian phones have been able to do this for years, and the HTC Evo can do it quite handily. But Apple is pushing it hard at the mainstream with the iPhone 4.

Making a call on FaceTime is very cool, at first. You see who you're talking to! You talk about what you are doing, that being using a videocalling system built right into a phone. How cool! You can do neat things like flick the little thumbnail of yourself from corner to corner and flip between the front and back cameras. It's just neat.

Today, Super Junior’s follow-up track titled No Other is finally released! The track has a different atmosphere then BONAMANA as it has more of a mellow and R&B feel that make you feel happy. Listen below and enjoy the song (low quality).

Rainie Yang and Wu Chun bonding just fine for latest idol drama

When boy band Fahrenheit’s Wu Chun was cast as the lead actor for the upcoming Taiwanese drama “Sunshine Angel 陽光天使” alongside Taiwanese pop princess Rainie Yang, many thought that the shy, reserved, and cool-natured Wu Chun would make an incompatible coupling with the passionately zany and attention-loving Rainie. Yet once the two famous Taiwanese entertainers embarked to Shanghai for the filming of their new idol drama, their acting took on an authentic air of sweetheart romance during shooting, and their professional relationship off camera has been remarkably warm. The duo has often been seen chatting and laughing together on the set, and not only have they been eating together frequently, but they also have flirtatious arguments and give off an affectionate vibe

Miley Cyrus: "I Hate Vampires"

Thank goodness Miley Cyrus isn't on Twitter anymore. If she was, she'd probably be hearing from a lot angry of Twilight fans, just like Emma Roberts did when she announced she was Team Jacob.

What's up with Miley? Read on to find out what she recently told us...

Cyrus makes no bones about it. "I hate vampires," she says.

So no Edward and Bella for her. But what about the more risqué, not-very-tame True Blood?

Probably not gonna happen, either.

"What channel is that on?" she asks when we urge her to check out the hit bloodsucking HBO show.

"We don't have HBO," she said, adding that her mom only gets "about 10 channels" at their house. "So we don't watch a lot of TV. We don't know what's on. All we have is like the Disney Channel and Nick at Nite because my sister is only 10 years old."

Jennifer Aniston: It's (Not Even Close to) Baby Time!

Slow news week? Check.

Fake Jennifer Aniston baby news? Check!

DO NOT BUY OK! Magazine. Please. Save your money, and send a message to the celebrity gossip publication's editors that they need to work a little harder.

Seriously, you'd think by the 12th time of fabricating Jennifer Aniston’s "baby plans," they'd at least try to think of some NEW lies to vaguely relay to us ...

The mag hilariously promises a sneak peek at an interview "everybody is going to be talking about." What is there to talk about, other than it's completely untrue?

On Farts and Nudity: Eclipse Stars Talk Tent Scene

It's the most famous scene in Eclipse, perhaps even in the entire Twilight Saga: Bella, Edward and Jacob all end up in a single tent, as the former snuggles up to the latter and...

... we don't wanna ruin it for anyone that hasn't read the book.

But Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart sat down with the latest issue of Entertainment Weekly and discussed putting these words on screen.

Shooting the scene took two days, Lautner said, referring to it as "my favorite, because it’s the first time Edward and Jacob are actually able to connect and understand each other."

Original Motorola Droid to get Android 2.2 in July, Droid X in August?

The new Droid X is coming really, really soon (in less than one month), but there are still lost of users who own the original Motorola Droid and won’t buy the new one, so they’re probably wondering when they’ll be able to update it to Android 2.2 Froyo.

According to a screenshot posted at Droid Forums, the Motorola Droid might receive the Froyo update in “late July” – of course, this isn’t officially confirmed, so don’t bet on it just yet.

As for future Droid X owners (who will be able to buy the smartphone starting July 15), it looks like they’ll have to wait until late August to get a taste of Froyo.

iPhone 4 + Gyroscope + Gaming = All Kinds Of Awesome [Video]

In terms of the hardware, one of the only completely new features on the iPhone 4 is the gyroscope. It’s so new, in fact, that third-party developers haven’t had a chance to play around with it yet because they didn’t have access to the iPhone 4 hardware until today (or at least two days ago). And because they didn’t have the hardware, that means there are a sad lack of apps that use the feature so far. But actually, there is one out there. Ngmoco’s Eliminate: GunRange. And it’s awesome.

The game itself is simple. You pick a gun (preferably a high-powered semi-automatic one) and head to the shooting range. But the game shines thanks to the gyroscope — which is required for you to play. Rather than dragging your finger around the screen to tell your gun where to aim, you simply tilt the iPhone itself. Sure, you could sort of do this previously with the compass built in to the iPhone 3GS — but trust me, this is much, much better.

With you fingers freed up from aiming, they can do other things here — such a shoot. That’s how you fire your weapon, simply tap the screen. You can imagine that as more developers take advantage of this gyroscope, they’ll come up with plenty of innovative things you can do on the screen during games since your fingers are now freed up.

Edison denies knowing 18 year old girl, "Don't tear me and Vincy apart"

When Edison Chen was buffeted by the stormy winds of his sex photo scandal in February two years ago, his then girlfriend Vincy Yang stayed faithfully by his side. But yesterday, there were rumours that he and Vincy had encountered a rough patch in their relationship, and that Edison was now dating a hot, 18 year old Hong Kong model named Fiona Tang Bo Yan. Fiona was even photographed attending his company's party... to which Edison responded by denying that he even knew her.

According to Taiwan's Appledaily newspaper, after lying low for a year following his scandal, one of his first interviews upon reappearing was to thank his girlfriend Vincy, saying "She helped me understand the true meaning of love, this kind of love is very powerful, and now I'm like a new man."

Facing Bernice Liu, Moses Chan Draws a Line Between Him and Charmaine Sheh

Moses Chan and Bernice Liu this rumored couple attended to a function as a couple yesterday. Bernice appeared holding Moses's arm. During the event, Bernice was responsible of drawing prizes and she drew Moses, proving they are fated, even Bernice herself couldn't believe it and announce they were teased of fated to be together. Moses said: "Ok then, we haven't collaborate for two years." Attend as a couple again, whether they increase price? Moses expressed it's a happy and satisfying price.

Asked Moses, whether he worry new rumored girlfriend Charmaine Sheh would be jealous seeing Bernice held his arms, he said: "It's not my business, don't ask me." Ah Sheh this woman isn't none of his business? He said: "It's never my business, thank you everyone." Asked Bernice whether she's happy that Moses cleared up his relationship with Charmaine, Bernice and Moses looked at each other and smiled, didn't reply. Moses said: "I don't read the news often and won't care those rumors." Bernice added: "You won't read them, I don't know how to read them."

Lindsay Lohan Called Back to 'Splain DUI Bust

Her assistant may be keeping her mouth shut, but Lindsay Lohan is under strict orders not to follow suit.

After determining that eight hours of quality time with lawyers wasn't enough, a judge this morning ordered the embattled actress to sit down for another deposition—though this one will be mercifully capped at two hours—in her ongoing civil case stemming from her bizarre 2007 DUI and drug bust.

Unsurprisingly, Lindsay's attorney is calling foul on the required tête-à-tête, claiming the star has done enough talking and that ordering her to answer more questions about the ordeal borders on harassment.

No word on whether he managed to keep a straight face when he offered up the following take on the situation:

"In general, although I think that the questions they want to ask Lindsay are improper, we will participate in the deposition, as ordered by Judge Stone, and Lindsay will respond to their questions honestly," attorney Ed McPherson told E! News. "Fortunately, the judge has limited the harassment to two hours."

“Mission: Impossible IV” Shelved?

Paramount Pictures is reconsidering pulling the plug on plans to produce a fourth Mission: Impossible feature due to the underwhelming reception for Tom Cruise’s new Cameron Diaz-assisted comedy Knight and Day.

Mission is scheduled to hit theaters on Dec. 16, 2011, but studio bosses fear Cruise no longer has the star power to bring in mayjah bank at the box office.

Deadline Hollywood — who first reported this scoop — writes: “Hollywood has been buzzing that the studio might kill MI4 if Knight doesn’t connect with audiences despite Cruise’s action hero character. What are Paramount’s choices? The studio could choose not to accept the mission, but that seems next to impossible after all the development that’s already gone into this still viable franchise. Especially after Paramount repaired its fractured relationship with Tom around this film and just committed to a film with his Les Grossman character.”

Neil Patrick Harris Back For "Harold And Kumar 3"

Have you heard? Funny guy actor Neil Patrick Harris is set to reprise his role as himself in the third Harold and Kumar comedy — featuring former White House aid Kal Penn and John Cho.

Production is already underway in Michigan on the feature, which Harris describes as “a big, giant Christmas … like a holiday TV special, Christmas medley.”

Keep your eyes peeled for A Very Harold and Kumar Christmas, debuting this December!

Windows Phone 7's October release casually mentioned in Microsoft ad presentation

"I'm gonna ask rock star Kostas... to come on. And Kostas has brought with him Windows Phone 7, which we launch this October." So sayeth Microsoft VP for Marketing Mich Mathews in introducing GM of Live Labs' Kostas Mallios, who was at the Cannes Lions advertising conference to show off the advertising capabilities of the upcoming smartphone platform. Of course, last we heard, the official company line on WP7's release was "holiday 2010," so this would definitely narrow the launch window quite a bit, as well as corroborates earlier Telstra roadmap leaks. Not an official statement, but Mathews would definitely be someone in the know here. Don't expect the folks in Redmond to go ahead and confirm -- they work on their own schedule, thank you very much -- but should someone 'fess up, can we also talk about that $150 Kinect price? Video after the break.

Danson Tang wants to release a photo album with Eddie Peng and Joe Cheng?!

The self-proclaimed "Kpop style pretty boy", Danson Tang, just released his album yesterday. Eddie Peng, also from the same record label (Avex), showed his support by handing the gold-color baton into Danson’s hand, mimicking a relay race. In addition, Eddie gave Danson a Sunny Day Doll (晴天娃娃/Weather Doll) as a gift. It turns out that whenever Danson is doing promotional activities for his albums, it would always rain on the day. Hopefully, the doll can keep the days sunny this time round.

Seeing how buff Eddie has become after working out furiously lately, Danson expressed that he would also like to be like Eddie, disregarding his “pretty boy” image. Eddie immediately gave him three tips: less salt, less oil, less starch. Eddie then invited Danson to go work out with him.

Danson joked that if Joe Cheng, Eddie, and he release a photo album together, it would definitely sell big. Danson further explained that Eddie would be responsible for showing off his big chest and he would show his arm muscles, which leaves Joe Cheng to show off his…lower body.

Kwon Sang Woo releases official statement on hit and run accident

The acting industry of Korea has literally been on fire in the past several hours after the big news of actor Kwon Sang Woo committing a hit-and-run became public. The story has left many fans and netizens in astonishment and dismay, especially with the actor’s career at stake.

Kwon Sang Woo has been explaining the situation as being a mere accident caused by his fear and unskillful driving, and to clear up the confusion, the actor’s company released its official statement to the media.

“Actor Kwon Sang Woo was driving on an alley behind a wedding hall when his vehicle slipped due to the road being wet from rain. He bumped into a parked vehicle, and while he was backing up to take care of the situation he accidently bumped into a police vehicle which was returning to the station after a patrol.

He panicked and attempted to park the car at the wedding hall’s parking lot, but crashed into a flower bed. He panicked and fled from the scene. A representative from the company visited the scene shortly after, admitting that Kwon caused the accident and he then received police investigation.

Gisele Bundchen looks stunning in first post-baby photos taken just TWO MONTHS after she gave birth

She has always been famous for her lithe figure and toned curves.

But supermodel Gisele Bundchen has never looked sexier than in the new advertising campaign for Calzedonia swimwear, which was shot just two months after she gave birth.

The 29-year-old posed in a variety of string bikinis and flowing cover-ups for the shoot in February after welcoming son Benjamin into the world last December.

With no sign of any added curves or dreaded stretchmarks, Gisele appears to be flawless in the campaign for Calzedonia's 2010 Spring/Summer campaign.

And while some may suggest the photos have been heavily airbrushed to conceal any of Gisele's flaws, the swimwear company posted a video showing backstage at the shoot, in which Gisele is seen showing off her extremely toned body without so much as the hint of a wobble.

Miley Cyrus Says Sexy New Album Empowers Females

There's been plenty of hubbub about whether 17-year-old Miley Cyrus is going overboard on the sexuality in the lead-up to her new album, 'Can't Be Tamed,' but the singer says it's all about freedom and empowerment.

"My daughter introduced me to your music a few years ago," Sway Calloway tells Cyrus in an MTV News interview. "What I liked about it was you had a lot of empowerment themes."

Miley's response? "It's just about freeing yourself from anything you think is holding you back. And I think that's really important, especially for girls, because so many people are told, 'No, you can't do something,' or, 'You need to be this because mom and dad say that, teachers say this.'"

iPhone 4 Retina Display vs. Galaxy S Super AMOLED... fight!

If the title of this post isn't enough to entice you, we don't know what else to say. We've gone and run some sunlit comparisons between Apple's brand spanking new phone's Retina Display and Samsung's equally fresh and exclusive Super AMOLED panel on the Galaxy S. We don't know if we'll be able to settle the argument, but we're certainly going to subject both superphones to an expansive visual inspection. Follow us after the break for video exploration of this most pressing topic.

iPhone 4's Real Cost Versus Other Top Smartphones

iPhone 4, Droid Incredible, Evo 4G, and Nexus One hardware all cost about the same. But this chart shows exactly how much each will put you out of pocket—data/voice included—over the course of a two year contract.

The iPhone 4 fares well here, particularly in the Minimum Plan Total Cost category, but it's important to remember that AT&T is the only carrier currently offering tiered data. So that $2,000 is maxing you out at 200MB per month—not exactly a fair comparison to the unlimited plans found elsewhere. Even the "unlimited" plan caps you at 2GB, which is probably enough. But if it's not, you'll have to shell out $10 per 1GB per month extra.

Unreleased Michael Jackson Photos to Be Auctioned

A set of unseen Michael Jackson pictures is reportedly set to be sold at auction later this year, and miraculously, Joe Jackson doesn't even have a hand in it!

French photographer Arno Bani had the opportunity to photograph Michael some time back, and now ready to begin auctioning off the unpublished shots.

In December 2010, the unreleased Michael Jackson pictures will go up for sale. The set is reportedly comprised of 12 unique photos such as Pic.

Katy Perry holds No. 1 spot on 'Billboard' Hot 100 singles chart, Mike Posner debuts big

Katy Perry holds on to her No. 1 spot this week on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart with her Snoop Dogg-assisted “California Gurls.” It’s her single’s third consecutive week at the top. The following three tracks on the chart all keep the same place they did last week. Usher‘s “OMG” stays at No. 2. B.o.B’s “Airplanes” holds at No. 3. And “Billionaire” by Travie McCoy is at No. 4.

Drake‘s Kanye West-produced second single “Find Your Love” leaps from No. 10 to No. 5 this week, while Ke$ha‘s “Your Love Is My Drug” stays at No. 6. Lady Gaga‘s “Alejandro” falls from No. 5 to No. 7. Mike Posner’s debut single “Cooler than Me” lands in the top 10 this week. The pop upstart’s first single moves up from No. 14 to No. 8. Eminem’s “Not Afraid” slides back one spot to No. 9. And Taio Cruz’s “Break Your Heart” lands at No. 10.

Have you heard Posner’s new single? Do you think it has a shot at hitting No. 1?

That iOS 4 reception issue is looking more and more like a software bug

Much fuss has been made about the iPhone 4’s reception woes, but the evidence continues to mount that suggests the problem is purely the result of a bug in the current build of iOS 4. As proof, a YouTube user has posted a video of his iPhone 3G, held in a similar fashion as the iPhone 4s in the YouTube videos we showed you yesterday, losing signal strength as soon as it is clutched. As this did not happen with iOS 3.0, this suggests a software bug which affects the signal meter the user sees. Even more interesting is the fact that despite displaying a weak signal — and in some cases no signal at all — many users report that the iPhone 4 is still able to make calls as if nothing were wrong. Hit the jump to check out the video then give us your thoughts!

Jerry Yan rumored to star in Next Media's first ever drama

The new TV network from Next Media (parent company of Appledaily) is set to debut on Taiwanese airwaves in the latter half of this year. To start things off with a bang, they have enlisted the help of producer Chen Yu San to create the network’s first ever drama 拜金女王 (roughly translates to Material Queen). It will be Chen’s first project after leaving SETTV, where she produced numerous smash hits including Fated to Love You, My Queen and Autumn’s Concerto.

Material Queen tells the story of an orphaned girl who grew up to be a materialistic model. She eventually becomes a rich man’s escort for money, but while working in Paris, she meets a male student from a music college. The two have a one night stand by accident and begin a doomed love affair in France. The production is expected to cost at least 120 million (NTD), with part of it is already spent on recruiting Sex and the City stylist Patricia Field and Gossip Girl art director Charles E. McCarry. Chen will also reunite with her Autumn’s Concerto director Chen Hui Ling for the new project.

Although Jerry Yan’s name has been attached to this drama for awhile, several news sources only began to report actress Shu Qi as his possible costar yesterday. In response, Chen Yu San confirmed she has indeed spoken with both stars and Jerry Yan is close to saying yes. His management said he is "still deciding", but the star is rumored to be learning the basics of violin, as the character would be required to speak French and play the instrument.

Minute long audio preview of Taeyang’s SOLAR intro released!

Yesterday, YG Entertainment revealed the 13th and final track of Big Bang Taeyang’s first full length SOLAR album. Now the first minute long audio preview of the intro song has been released!

As we reported earlier, YG Entertainment plans to release minute long audio samples of Taeyang’s tracks for six days until the 30th, with the album dropping the very next day.

The intro song has got a very light yet epic vibe. With a beautiful melody and children laughing in the background, it’s got quite a nice morning sunrise feel to it. Check it out below!

Music Fans, Take Cover: Heidi Montag Is Working On Her Second Album

Break out your earplugs, Heidi sings once more! The soon-to-be former Hills starlet has announced that she is recording a second album to be released later this summer.

Oh Heidi, won’t you at least think of the children?

Montag, who is set to divorce her husband of one year Spencer Pratt, broke the unfortunate news on her Twitter page this week.

“Heading into the music studio recording my new single! Steve Morales my music producer moves into my house tomorrow to make my summer album!” she wrote.

Montag released her debut album, Superficial, in January. The effort nearly bankrupted the celeb — who financed the album with her own dough — and sold less than 1,000 copies in its first week.

Lindsay Lohan Ex-Assistant Offered Five-Figures To Tell-All On Actress

Troubled actress Lindsay Lohan has been dealt another personal blow — her former assistant in being offered a pretty penny to spill the tea on all the former Mean Girl’s dirty little secrets.

Do dish! (Grabbing popcorn and waiting in anticipation.)

After just a month, the fed-up Hollywood aide, known only as Elinore, reportedly resigned her gig as Lohan’s right-hand on Wednesday, June 9 — with insiders telling TMZ that the employee was “exhausted” and had “had enough of Lindsay’s demands.”

Tattling spies tell The New York Post that a number of supermarket weeklies have been offering cash deals in the neighborhood of $50,000 in exchange for info on LiLo to the woman. While there are no reports that Elinore signed a confidentiality agreement with Lindsay, the assistant has refused to dish the deets on her former boss, particularly since she’s afraid doing so will lead to a Tinseltown blackball on her services.

“She has so far refused the offers, saying she doesn’t want to tell on Lindsay as she’s afraid she’ll never work again.”

First iPhone 4 Broken After One-Foot Drop

This is not a drop test. This is the first iPhone 4 that breaks after a simple accident that anyone may have: A one-foot drop.

The back of it completely shattered. I'm convinced that this will be the first of many broken iPhone 4s. It appears to be functioning correctly but the glass needs to be replaced. At the Genius Bar they said they don't have any replacement phones or parts yet and we had to make an appt for Friday (they still don't have any insight into procedures for this situation but said to come in anyway). Hopefully they replace it for free. I've dropped my 3g from far higher without causing any breaks. This was the damage after about a foot fall.

I love Apple, I really do, but for a company renown for superb SCM practices, they fell short here… shipping early without procedures and/or parts in stock.

Unlike the drop test, this was a full phone from the factory. When I asked Jared about what where the circumstances, he said it just "trickled down about a foot while getting out of the car."

Apple’s iPhone 4 Launch Draws Huge Crowds Worldwide

If you thought that the hype was settling down, guess again: iPhone-hungry masses lined up outside Apple stores around the world Thursday, eager to get their hands on Apple’s latest smartphone.

“The line is longer than expected. I wish they had it more organized by time frame like they do at the genius bar,” said Robert Arnold-Kraft, a line waiter outside Apple’s downtown San Francisco store.

“My legs are already cramping up. It’s almost been two hours. This launch is bigger than a blackout sale,” said Joseph Canino, in San Francisco.

“The line here is about 2,000 people deep! Ughh,” tweeted Sandra Saldivar, in Modesto, California.

In fact, the launch of the iPhone 4 may have drawn the largest crowds ever. In New York, Boston, Chicago, San Francisco, Tokyo, Paris and London, thousands of would-be customers queued up, some camping out overnight, to get a chance to buy the phone.

They’ll need some luck. Apple reported receiving more than 600,000 pre-orders for the phone, in a presales rush that swamped AT&T’s and Apple’s web servers and led to countless customer complaints.

Adriana Lima Defines Sexiness

You might look amazing in lingerie, Gisele, but your post-baby body has competition from a long-time rival.

Adriana Lima is stepping up her game in the Spanish edition of V magazine, posing topless and defining what's sexy - literally!

"To me, it is all about confidence in yourself both physically and mentally. But you also have to have a slightly playful attitude about everything," she says.

We'd like to be playful with Adriana... if you know what we mean!

Also, Lima was asked about the sexiest thing in her closet and when she wears it. She replied: "Lingerie... morning, noon and night."

Da S admits to becoming prettier, squashes plastic surgery rumours

Netizens have been buzzing about the fact that Da S's wide eyes, high nose and pointy chin in "Summer's Desire" is a far cry from her single lidded, small-nosed, and round-chinned appearance 10 years ago in "Meteor Garden". Da S responded by posting an old photo on her Weibo, and added "If you say I've become prettier, I won't deny it, but if you say I had plastic surgery, that's complete nonsense! This is a photo of Mavis Fan, Xiao S and I from 12 years ago, my face shape and nose are the same... the only thing different is in the makeup and expression. If I really had plastic surgery, I wouldn't dare publish 'Mei Rong Da Wang'! Some netizens...."

Yesterday, Xiao S said that Da S's chin is a family trait. "Our whole family has long chins like that, just take a look at me, my grandma, my dad, and my nephew Xiao Mi Ke. ASOS has always been gearing up through getting prettier and prettier, even we are scared of how much prettier we can get." To rumours that Da S is planning to buy a house in the Xin Yi district, Xiao S answered that Da S has to work hard acting, "And now that the family has a new member (Xiao Mi Ke), she decided to buy a more comfortable house, so that it's worth the hard work."

Will the iPhone 4’s yellow displays cure themselves?

There’s no way to verify this until we get a few more days behind us, but a forum user from AppleInsider is claiming that those hideous yellow splotches affecting some iPhone 4 Retina displays will go away after a couple of days of use. Here’s the explanation:

Apple is using a bonding agent called Organofunctional Silane Z-6011 to bond the layers of glass. Apparently, Apple (or more likely Foxconn) is shipping these products so quickly that the evaporation process is not complete. However, after one or two days of use, especially with the screen on, will complete the evaporation process and the yellow “blotches” will disappear.
How do I know? I was involved in pitching Z-6011 to Apple.

Is this false hope, or the wonders of science? Time will tell.

Nokia confirms Nseries MeeGo move

Nokia has officially confirmed that it is, indeed, switching its high-end Nseries devices to the MeeGo operating system once the Nokia N8 is out of the way. Reported yesterday by way of an aside from a Nokia Australia rep – and prompting doubt from many Nokia watchers – spokesperson Doug Dawson from the Finnish company told Reuters today that “Going forward, N-series devices will be based on MeeGo.”

MeeGo is a collaborative effort between Nokia and Intel, combining the former’s Maemo work – as most recently released on the N900 – and the latter’s Moblin project. It will presumably first debut on the Nokia N9, tipped to be a companion device for the N8, adding in a hardware QWERTY keyboard among other things.

Android 2.2 Froyo for x86 coming this summer

Intel expect to release a version of Android 2.2 suitable for x86 based devices such as Atom tablets and netbooks within the next few months, in the expectation that the popular OS’ availability will encourage use of their own chips rather than those of rival ARM in netbooks and tablets. Speaking to APC, Intel VP of software and services, Renee James, explained that “our expectation is that (native x86 Android) will be based on the Froyo release and will be available this summer to developers.”

Not only will Intel be providing the code to their developer partners, but they’ll also be making it available to anyone who wants to tinker with Android. ”All of the (x86) code will be fed back into the open branch that will be created for x86″ James explains, suggesting that Intel’s experience of Linux work in the past meant that creating the new x86 Android release “wasn’t tremendously difficult”.
