Lindsay Lohan surrendered to officials at a Beverly Hills courthouse on Tuesday to begin serving her 90-day jail sentence. The 'Mean Girls' star arrived about 10 minutes late and was accompanied by attorney Shawn Chapman Holley and her mother, Dina Lohan.
Shortly after the hearing began, Judge Marsha Revel announced she was decreasing the 24-year-old's lag time between jail and her rehab stint from 48 to 24 hours. The actress looked poised and calm as Revel spoke.
Cameras in the courtroom were ordered shut off by the judge per an earlier agreement, meaning viewers were not able to witness the star's last moments of freedom and the moment she was handcuffed. Lohan was then taken by car to the Lynwood Correctional Facility.
Lohan was sentenced July 6 to 90 days in jail and a 90-day inpatient rehabilitation program for violating probation on an old DUI case. The actress will likely serve approximately 23 days behind bars because, according to Los Angeles Sheriff's Department spokesperson Steve Whitmore, female inmates in custody for nonviolent crimes generally serve about 25 percent of their sentence.
Her stay will be considerably longer that the 84 minutes she spent at a suburban Los Angeles jail in 2006 for an unrelated conviction.
Lohan broke down in tears as Judge Marsha Revel revealed her decision. Two days later, Lohan's lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley announced she was leaving the star's legal team and was later replaced briefly by Robert Shapiro. He tendered his resignation on Monday and Holley took up the case again.

Leaked last week, Microsoft has just officially confirmed the upcoming Xbox 360 4GB, the replacement to the 360 Arcade. Priced at $199.99 and set to begin shipping on August 3rd 2010 in the US, the new Xbox 360 4GB will also be offered as a bundle with the Kinect sensor for $299.99 this holiday season.
The Kinect sensor itself, meanwhile, will be $149.99 when that launches during the holidays, and of course it will work with both the refreshed Xbox 360 and the previous-gen model. There will be more than 15 games available at Kinect’s launch, including “Kinectimals,” “Kinect Sports,” “Kinect Joy Ride” and “Dance Central”, retailing for $49.99.

If you've been following the ongoing saga of Dell's Streak, you've probably already read our review of O2 UK's version -- thing is, the British perspective can be very different from the Yankee one (we didn't see eye-to-eye during the War of 1812, for instance). To that end, we wanted to circle back now that the gargantuan Android beast is finally coming close to a US release and get another quick take.
As a refresher, this thing matches or exceeds the specs you'd expect to find on any modern high-end smartphone in most respects, starting with a 1GHz Snapdragon core, a 5 megapixel camera with dual LED flash, 850 / 1900MHz 3G for use on AT&T, Rogers, Bell, and Telus, and 2GB of internal storage coupled with a bundled and pre-installed 16GB microSDHC card. Where the Streak sets itself far, far apart from the crowd, though, is with an absolutely enormous 5-inch capacitive touchscreen at 800 x 480 resolution. Needless to say, it's a polarizing feature -- and for many, it'll singlehandedly determine whether the phone is a buy or a no-buy.
Our original review ultimately concluded that the Streak was a promising device in need of an update from Android 1.6 to Froyo. On second look, does our American reviewer agree? Read on.

RIM and Nokia aren't the only ones saying "WTF Steve!?" after last Friday's press conference attempted to draw the competition into the Antennagate saga. Samsung has issued its own choice reaction about supposed problems with the Omnia 2, though this one is somewhat less sternly worded than the others:
The antenna is located at the bottom of the Omnia 2 phone, while iPhone's antenna is on the lower left side of the device. Our design keeps the distance between a hand and an antenna. We have fully conducted field tests before the rollout of smartphones. Reception problems have not happened so far, and there is no room for such problems to happen in the future.
Why is Samsung being rather more polite? Because it's full of really nice people? Or, is it because the iPhone 4 is stuffed with Samsung memory chips? We'll let your level of cynicism be your guide here.

This weekend, the folks over at Droid-Life acquired an image that seems to answer a question a lot of potential DROID 2 owners have. Will the DROID 2 ship with Android 2.2 — Froyo — or will they have to wait for Verizon to release an update? Well, luckily it looks like the answer to the first half of that question is: yes, the DROID 2 will ship with Android 2.2. The image obtained by DL shows a D2 prototype running Froyo, with Verizon branding, complete with Motorola’s not-really-BLUR UI (joy). Android 2.2, an improved keyboard, and a 1 GHz processor?! We can’t wait!

After being away for nearly four years, Se7en is back to the motherland with the release of his first mini album titled Digital Bounce.
The mini album appropriately contains 7 tracks:
01. INTRO – RESET
02. DIGITAL BOUNCE ( Feat. T.O.P)
03. BETTER TOGETHER
04. I’M GOING CRAZY
05. MONEY CAN’T BUY ME LOVE
06. DRIPS
07. ROLLER COASTER
After a quick listen I have to say that all the tracks are pretty fresh with the title track Digital Bounce featuring Big Bang’s T.O.P being my favorite. Thanks to everyone who sent in tips and remember to support the artist by purchasing the album. Also keep an eye out for the MV which should be released soon.

Lindsay Lohan will go nude in her first post-prison film, a biopic based on the life of adult film star Linda Lovelace.
The Mean Girls star will play the notorious star of the ’70s skin flick in a biopic called Inferno. And producers say the role is a far cry from The Parent Trap, Freaky Friday, and other family-friendly hits that made Lohan one of the most-celebrated young actress of the 2000s.
“There’ll be full frontal nudity. But it’s not a porn movie. It’s an artistic movie about a porn star,” director Matt Wilder told The Sun this week. “It will not be cinematic nudity – it will be more violent nudity. For example, linked images of the Vietnam war – that kind of context. It’s not a porn movie, it’s an artistic movie about a porn star. We will not see Lindsay performing oral sex, but there could be some clever play with black boxes or other cinematic tricks that the viewer may see.”
Kim Kardashian has been spending a lot of time in Miami recently, but who can blame her when she has a bikini body like this?
The 29-year-old socialite wore a tiny purple and white striped triangle bikini as she strolled along with beach with her 31-year-old sister earlier this week.
Wearing dark sunglasses and carrying a sarong, Kim showed off her enviable figure in the two-piece, which drew particular attention to her most famous asset - her curvy bottom.
Kim, who looked as though she was enjoying herself as she spent time with her older sibling, recently started following the Quick Trim diet system again.

One last bikini shot before jail! On the eve of the start of her 90-day jail sentence, troubled starlet Lindsay Lohan makes her final cover appearance for the next 30 months. The former “Mean Girl” finds herself getting felt up by an animated hand on the graphics-laden cover of the Aug/Sept. 2010 issue of Complex Magazine, an appearance more than two months in the making.
“We consider ourselves lucky to be able to present this super-sexy photoshoot just to remind everyone of just how bad (meaning good!) Lindsay is. Featuring art by none other than KAWS, the story kicks off our 2010 Style & Design Issue in ultimate Complex style. Unfortunately, Lindsay got caught up in the madness—Cannes, court, and conviction—before we had a chance to interview her, so we instead used the cover story to ask the question everyone’s forgetting: what’s it like to be LiLo right now? For all the hand-wringing and schadenfreude everyone seems to love indulging in, this is still a human being, and one who’s contending with a world that clearly wants her to fail. Not us, though—if it were our call, all she’d do is win. We got your back, Linds!”
"There's an awful lot of hoopla about that iPhone antenna." Why yes, there is. And while there's much to criticize about Apple's response, we're glad to see they've stopped pretending the problem doesn't exist.
Apple spent most of the time last week defending the iPhone 4's antenna, using both data and rhetoric that was impressive in its scope.

We just received a juicy tip about the HTC DROID Incredible software update schedule that we’d like to share. One of our strategically placed Ninjas was kind enough to pass along an email from HTC that read as follows:
I wanted to pass along that the upcoming Incredible MR will also include Froyo (originally it was going to be two separate MRs).
We are targeting the end of the month/first part of August. As a reminder, below are the highlights:
- Froyo
- 802.11 n
- 3G Mobile Hot Spot
- HTC Widget: Email
- HTC Widget: News
- EAS Updates
- 720p Video Recording
- Amazon MP3
- Skype
- My Verizon
Obviously, the news here is that the Incredible update that began rolling out this weekend will — in all likelihood — be halted, and a sexier, Froyo-inclusive update will be pushed out in the coming weeks. The update will also include 802.11n Wi-Fi support, 3G Mobile Hot Spot, 720p video recording, and more. Not bad news for Incredible owners. What do you think? Is Android 2.2 worth an extra few weeks of waiting?

Motorola Droid X

All's not well in Creepy Red Eye land, if reports out of several cell phone forums can be believed -- a number of early Droid X adopters are documenting serious graphical or possibly electrical problems with the handset's giant screen. While we don't know how widespread the issue might be quite yet, symptoms include rapid flickering and vertical banding over all or part of the 4.3-inch LCD. Several forumites claim to have already had their phones replaced, in some cases being told the defect was a common problem in their respective launch day batches. We've contacted Verizon for confirmation and hope to have a response soon; in the meanwhile, see video examples of both issues after the break, and let us know if you've seen similar glitches in comments below.
Okay, this one's a complete and very welcome surprise -- some extremely blurry pictures and a quick video of what appears to be a smaller Motorola portrait QWERTY Android slider for Verizon just popped up on the Chinese Hiapk forums -- and yes, it's got the glowing red Droid eye. We're not sure if that means the Droid line is about to get a smaller midrange sibling or what, but Motorola's definitely pushing out some of the more interesting Android form factors lately, and this mini Droid certainly fits right in with the Flipout and the Charm. A couple more shots and the video after the break.

The Droid 2's been leaking out all over the place in the past few weeks, but it looks like it'll be another month before it officially hits shelves -- we just got these shots from a packaging facility that's handling the phone, which puts it right on schedule for that rumored August 23rd launch. We're also told that the phone will definitely ship with an 8GB microSD card, and that pricing appears to be $199 on contract and $599 standalone, although those numbers could change. Just a few short weeks left, we suppose -- although give the rate at which this thing is leaking, we're thinking Motorola and Verizon might do well to push that date up a couple weeks. We'll see.

Jennifer Aniston -- who famously stripped down for GQ last year -- has taken off her top again.
Britain's The Daily Mail provides a sneak peek at the actress' upcoming ads for her new fragrance Lolavie.
In the steamy black-and-white shots, Aniston, 41, covers her chest with her arms as she works the camera, wearing nothing but a white skirt.
She is expected to launch the scent Wednesday at Harrods department store in London.
It's been a long road, hasn't it? Well, in some respects, it hasn't -- in fact, it's only been about two years since development of Windows Phone 7 as we know it today kicked off -- but when you consider that this product will be replacing Windows Mobile 6.5, that puts things in proper perspective. In fact, even the very latest maintenance releases of good ol' WinMo are based on the same rickety underpinnings as version 5.0 was way back in 2005, at a time when WVGA smartphone displays were science fiction, 4G networks were a good two Gs beyond the average American's comprehension, and Engadget looked like this. Nowadays, it's a very different game; eight year-olds have access to mobile email, your phone understands German, and "Yelp" is a verb (okay, actually Yelp is a verb). Indeed, mobile devices are the new PCs -- and companies like Apple and Google are dominating an industry that had once been practically handed to Microsoft on a silver platter. No one -- either inside or outside of Redmond -- is arguing that change isn't desperately (and quickly) needed, because it simply isn't enough to dominate the desktop anymore.
In light of all that, you could call Windows Phone 7 a desperation move to become relevant in the pocket again. Call it whatever you like, but regardless, brand loyalty isn't going to save this product -- it simply has to be good to sell. Scratch that; it actually has to be nearly flawless in a world where iOS 4 and Gingerbread play. Microsoft still has a few months before it intends to get the first volley of Windows Phone 7-based products to the marketplace, but we've recently been provided with reference hardware -- a not-for-retail Samsung called "Taylor" that's closely modeled on the Symbian-based i8910HD -- to get a feel for where they're at as the clock ticks down. Is this shaping up to be a killer platform for the next generation of high-end smartphones? And more importantly, can it win customers? Read on for our first take.

Bought a shiny new Motorola DROID X? Well, for the most part, it’s one rock solid beast of a handset, but we’ve been informed there is a pretty low to medium size privacy flaw (depending on your point of view), and have verified it ourselves. The Motorola DROID X actually will show text message and call history logs, even if you have deleted those items from the phone, via its contacts history function. All you have to do is scroll over to contact history in the contacts app and you’ll find the deleted information there. The issue doesn’t persist after an entire phone wipe, but it’s still a little disconcerting that any threaded text message conversations or recent calls would still show up after deletion. Check out our video after the jump for a quick run through of what we’re finding with text messages. We have reached to Verizon to find out if this is something they’re aware of / working on fixing, but we’ve also been told this is visible on other Motorola handsets, and it looks like it’s tied to the BLUR interface.

MISCHA Barton has a new boyfriend.
The former O.C. actress is dating British DJ Ali Love and the couple went public with their romance at London festival Lovebox over the weekend, where onlookers say they couldn’t keep tier hands off each other.
“Mischa was looking pretty merry in a bedraggled short flowery dress and white bow,” a source said. “She and Ali were all over each other backstage, and kept popping off to the toilets — presumably for a cheeky kiss.
“They just returned from a break in the South of France and things are obviously going really well.”
