Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart: When in Rome...

Life is tough for Taylor Lautner and Kristen Stewart.

These two stars are stuck looking gorgeous, making millions and traveling the world together to promote Eclipse. A couple weeks ago, they touched down in Australia.

Last night, they posed for photos and met reporters and fans in Rome. Both Kristen and Taylor look good, but we do have one complaint: the latter should never be allowed to wear a shirt in public.

He looks handsome and all below, but come on. Nothing can compare to this!

Box office preview: 'Toy Story' on tap to be biggest movie of the summer

What can’t Pixar do? The Emeryville, Calif.-based movie studio that has transformed movie animation has done it again with Toy Story 3, the sequel that’s destined to be Pixar’s 11th straight hit. The movie, a reunion of the characters that began the now-legendary studio 15 years ago, may actually break some records and become the company’s highest-grossing movie ever. It would have to exceed Finding Nemo — which in summer 2003 earned $340 million — but with the higher ticket prices for the 3-D flick, that outcome is surely possible. The movie will open in 2,463 digital 3-D locations of its 4,028 overall locations and could bow to triple digits this weekend. It doesn’t have anything to compete with. Unfortunately for Warner Bros., the Josh Brolin-Megan Fox-starrer Jonah Hex is looking like a huge disappointment. It’s one of the few movies I’m told that has lost traction with audiences over the past few weeks. Read on for my predictions.

1. Toy Story 3: $100 million

No Pixar flick has opened to more than $70 million, the amount both Nemo and The Incredibles raked in their first weekend in theaters. So Disney, Pixar’s owner and distributor, is not going to assume Toy Story 3 will generate much more than $85 million, considering the 3-D upcharge that they’ll benefit from. I think, however, the interest in the film is high, and with generations of audiences loving Pixar films, Toy Story 3 definitely could be the movie to beat this summer in terms of overall gross. The only one that could stand in its way is Christopher Nolan’s Inception, though the film’s original plot and complex storyline may make it a more difficult sell.

Photo Controversy Hasn't Affected Miley Cyrus

As Miley Cyrus gears up to co-host the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards on Sunday and continues to promote her new album, Can't Be Tamed, she's showing no signs of being hurt by a photo "scandal" earlier in the week.

On Wednesday, a smiling Cyrus was spotted with boyfriend Liam Hemsworth, 20, at LAX, and she told Ryan Seacrest on Tuesday that she's just focusing on "the positive and I hope this record does well."

Meanwhile, it seems blogger Perez Hilton, who came under fire for Tweeting an apparently explicit photo of the 17-year-old star, has a reason to smile as well.

Though Hilton (real name: Mario Lavandeira Jr.), 32, faced enormous public outrage for posting a revealing paparazzi shot of the young star climbing out of a car, Beverly Hills criminal defense attorney Howard Price tells PEOPLE the blogger will probably not face legal consequences.

Droid 2 (or whatever it's called) for Verizon breaks cover once again

Nothing new here, but at this point, Motorola's delicious duo of fresh Android phones for Verizon is leaking like... well, like a leaky faucet, we suppose. We've already got the full scoop on the keyboardless 4.3-inch Droid X -- a beast ready to take on sworn enemies from HTC like the EVO 4G and the Droid Incredible -- and we've seen plenty of details on the so-called Droid 2, too. The latter appears destined to replace the original Droid with a better keyboard layout and ever-so-gently refined ergonomics, but the latest leak from a Gizmodo tipster confirms that the cam's still 5 megapixels and it's currently running Android 2.1 atop Moto's new-look Blur (interestingly, the "Droid 2" name couldn't be confirmed). Apparently it's set for release in the "next few weeks," which would line up with rumors we've heard in the past of a launch windows somewhere between July and August -- so here's the real question: X or 2?

iPhone 4 to have 512MB of RAM, double the 3GS and iPad?

Apple has traditionally been -- how shall we put it -- cagey with revealing memory and CPU specifics of its mobile devices, but MacRumors is today reporting its discovery that the fourth-gen iPhone's RAM apportionment will be a very healthy 512MB. We've heard similar rumblings from reliable sources of our own. What it means is that iPhone 4 users can look forward to not only the same processor (though potentially at a lower speed) as their iPad compatriots, but also double the memory allowance. Of course, this will hardly be the first handset to offer half a gig for the OS to dance inside, but at least Apple's keeping up with the times. Wouldn't wanna disappoint all those pre-orderers now, would we?

And the newly engaged star’s second campaign with the Italian fashion house is just as hot as the first. Posing in the brand’s lacy lingerie sets with artfully undone hair and a come-hither expression on her face, the 24-year-old bombshell oozes sex appeal. Shot on location in Los Angeles, Fox’s fall/winter 2010-2011 Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans ads will hit billboards around the world beginning in July, to be followed by a commercial starring the steamy siren in September. Stay tuned for more info.

Angelina Jolie Criticized for Playing Cleopatra

Angelina Jolie is facing growing criticism for taking on the role of Cleopatra.

African American blogs and message boards are full of comments about how an actress of color should have played the part, as pointed out by CNN's Marquee blog.

In an Essence.com story called "Another White Actress to Play Cleopatra?," the author writes, "Honestly, I don't care how full Angelina Jolie's lips are, how many African children she adopts, or how bronzed her skin will become for the film, I firmly believe this role should have gone to a black woman."

(Jolie, 35, adopted Zahara, 5, from Ethiopia, and gave birth to Shiloh, 3, in Namibia. She and Brad Pitt are also parents to Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, and twins Knox and Viv, 23 months.)

The writer went on, "Were Vanessa Williams, Halle Berry and Thandie Newton unavailable for auditions that day? Why does Hollywood think it’s even slightly plausible to cast white women in roles that would be more sensible to cast a black actress for? Especially when that role is an African queen."

Charlene Choi has released her first mandarin album

Charlene Choi (Ah Sa) was at the press conference promoting her first mandarin album "AS A SA" in Beijing yesterday. The event attracted nearly hundred reporters and camera crews. Hundred fans were there supporting her too. Ah Sa also sang her new song "Confident". Emperor group CEO Ng Yu presented her with some giant rice dumplings (糉子), wishing her "Spot on" (大中) with the album.

Ah Sa has good interactions with a lot of people in the entertainment circle. She gets a lot of support from them. Although her good friends Leo Ku, Gillian Chung, William Chan, Raymond Lam and Joey Yung were not there in person to support her, they all sent their support by VCR, wishing her all the best with her first mandarin album. The highlight of the event was when Harlem Yu pretended to be the weather broadcaster, broadcasted the weather using Ah Sa's new song "Big Storm" as the topic. Ah Sa was happy and touched, she thanked all her friends for their support.

The record company had collected all of Ah Sa's pictures since she was little. They made it into a short film to show her stages of growing up as well as her past event. Watching her short film, Ah Sa was so overwhelmed that she couldn't hold back her tears.

Fan threw a bra at 2PM Nich Khun at WonderGirls’ American concert performance

2PM Nich Khun got thrown an underwear by a fan during their American performance.

A video was uploaded on the 13th on Youtube which had garnered much netizens’ interests. 2PM had performed as the opening act to the WonderGirls’ American concert tour on 12th June in America Anaheim House Of Blues.

One of their performances was their debut song ’10 out of 10′ and while Nich Khun was doing his solo part of the song, what seems like a bra was thrown at him from the audiences. Nich Khun had seemed flustered at the moment but continued the performance with his sexy butt dance.

It has been known that is is common for fans to throw underwears at concerts of top stars in the States. However, Korean netizens’ responses to that was, “Must be embarrassing for Nich Khun”, “Why of all things a bra? This is too much”, “Cultural difference? But I still cannot understand” etc.!--more-->

Samsung Galaxy S gets video unboxing

Back when we reviewed the Samsung Wave, while we loved its Super AMOLED display and swift 1GHz Hummingbird processor, we also felt the Samsung Galaxy S with Android 2.1 would be a better bet for most consumers than the new bada OS. Happily that’s something we can test out now, since there’s a Samsung Galaxy S fresh to the test bench at Android Community today.

Packing a 4-inch WVGA Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display, TouchWiz 3.0 UI, WiFi b/g/n, triband UMTS and Bluetooth 3.0, the Galaxy S certainly ticks the specs boxes. Hands-on, the display leaves no room for disappointment, even managing to put HTC’s AMOLED technology – as on the Nexus One and Desire – to shame with its right, bright colors and crisp resolution.

It’s also impressively swift, with menus whipping past and webpages rendering almost instantaneously. Pinch-zooming shows none of the lag we’ve seen on other recent, less powerful Android handsets, and screen rotation happens without a pause.

Google Nexus One with Android 2.2 Froyo launched in Korea

The Nexus One may have taken a little while to reach South Korea, but it looks like KT is doing its best to make up for lost time -- the carrier has just announced that it will not only be offering the Nexus One, but that it will come complete with Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo). True to Nexus One form, you'll be able to snag the phone off-contract for 699,600 won (or about $576), but you'll also be able to get it for just 150,000 won (or $125) on a two-year contract. Not many surprises beyond that, but it looks like supplies will be limited to just 4,000 units for the June 21st launch -- although KT promises it will be readily available at stores across the country in July.

The Real Reason Emma Roberts Isn't Team Edward?

You Team Edward fans can be so cruel!

After Emma Roberts told Robert Pattinson she was Team Jacob on The Tonight Show, the poor babe has been run off Twitter by all the haters out there.

While we thought the comment was pretty funny, mainly due to Rob's reaction back to her, it's so obvious what's really going on here:

There's probably much more to that little Edward jab—and his name is Michael Angarano. Remember him, Kristen Stewart's ex boyfriend?

Stewart and Michael dated when Twilight was first being filmed and were very on-off until Kristen decided she wanted to be totally on with Pattinson.

While we hear Kristen and Michael remain friendly, but aren't exactly besties, Angarano has found himself another gal to pal around with in the meantime: Roberts.

Eminem Gay Marriage Declaration: “I Approve!”

Eminem has changed his tune. Historically one of the world’s best known homophobes, Em, 37, now says he supports gay marriage.

“I think if two people love each other, then what the hell? I think that everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable, if they want,” the Slim Shady star confesses in a chat with The New York Times. “It’s the new tolerant me!”

Eminem is close friends with openly-gay rock icon Elton John and credits the musician with helping him overcome an addiction to painkillers.

Eminem’s Recovery debuts everywhere music is sold on June 22.

America Ferrera Is Engaged!

Some beautiful news for Ugly Betty: Actress America Ferrera is engaged to longtime boyfriend Ryan Piers Williams, her rep tells Us.

On Wednesday, the actress, 26, showed off a new diamond at the Edinburgh Film Festival screening of The Illusionist in Scotland.

Ferrera and Williams go way back: They first met as film students at the University of Southern California when he cast her in a film.

The two have been living together since 2007 and even share a golden retriever named Buddy, whom she once told W they refer to as "our baby."

In 2007, they dodged engagement rumors.

"It’s totally not true!" she told W. "And his mom called me and my sisters were calling me, and I was like, ‘Are you kidding? Did you not think I would tell you first?’ And then I put out a statement that it wasn’t true, and that became a whole news story. So now it’s news when something doesn’t happen? Like, news flash: California did not get hit by a hurricane today.”

Perez Hilton on Miley Cyrus Scandal: I Would Do It Again

Despite the loss of advertiser ABC, Perez Hilton said he does not regret linking to an upskirt photo of Miley Cyrus on Twitter and would do the same thing all over again.

"I really do wish I could post that picture [on my website] because a lot of people ... are getting upset over an image they didn't see," Hilton said Thursday on HLN's The Joy Behar Show. "It's definitely not child pornography and it's definitely not illegal."

The 32-year-old blogger said ABC was the only company to pull advertisements from his website thus far and said he hoped the network would come back.

"You didn't see anything down there," Hilton argued, saying he would have decided against posting the picture if Cyrus wasn't wearing underwear. "I can't help it if America has a dirty imagination."

Hilton received criticism Monday after he linked to a photo of the 17-year-old pop singer exiting a car on his Twitter that made it seem as if she was not wearing any underwear. Twitter eventually took down the photo down, but many questioned whether Hilton would face child pornography charges because Cyrus is under age.

No legal action had been taken as of Thursday.

New Xbox 360 shows up in the wild, gets unboxed, torn asunder and modded

Hey, look at what we have here -- it's the new Xbox 360 that was just debuted a few days back -- and there's a lot going down with this one which has somehow made its way into the wild. We get the full unboxing treatment, a detailed teardown, and finish up with some delicious, light-paneled modding. While we can't really gather much beyond what we already know, the drive appears to be a Philips Lite-On DG-16D4S -- just in case you were wondering about that one. There's a video below showing off this one's new, modded exterior.

Behind the scenes: Windows Phone 7

The first Windows Phone 7 devices won't hit the market until the holidays. But in various conference rooms here on this Thursday in late May, it's already crunch time.

Microsoft has only a few weeks to get a near-final version of its code ready so various wireless carriers can begin the months of testing required before they'll start selling a new device.

In Studio F, one of three newer buildings that house Microsoft's vast phone effort, the team working on the phone operating system itself is having its daily meeting to assess the software in terms of bugs and performance goals. Microsoft developers call these gatherings the "shiproom," because in days gone by it was in those conference rooms that Microsoft would declare a product to be good enough to ship--that is, release to manufacturing.

Edison Chen Raps in English at FAMA's concert expressing his feelings; Comeback In October

Edison Chen Raps in English at FAMA's concert expressing his feelings; Comeback In October

Edison Chen changed the lyrics to English rap "Image". Part of the lyrics were: "I hope someday you'll change your mind and join me", which means that Edison hopes people can accept him again. To this Edison said: "In the last few years, I lived in the U.S, where the values are different from Hong Kong. It's not that the people of Hong Kong are not good, but just it's too difficult to pursue others and individual goals. Everyone should just relax, do your own thing is the most important. I am not telling people to accept me, people will know when my album releases."

Edison also expresses that in the last two years, there has been people asking him to do a public singing performance, but he didn't want to sing his old songs, so he declined to the offers.

Before returning to Korea, Jay Park: “I will try to the best of my ability to represent Korea well”

Returning as an actor, Jay Park’s latest message to everyone, “I am proud to be Korean. I love Korea.”

Jay Park tweeted the link to his official hompeage (http://www.jaypark.com) on 18th June. In the homepage, he posted up a post describing his feelings about returning to Korea.

In his post, he wrote, “I was once young and naive and said some things that got blown out of context but would like to add that I am proud to be Korean, I love Korea, my parents are Korean, and where ever I go, whatever I do, I will try to the best of my ability to represent Korea well.”

Leehom Wang “smiles” when he sees Shanghai

Uh…sorry for the lame title...

We’ve been seeing a lot of wacky Leehom-Sharp lately, but it looks like he was back to his old self at the Shanghai World Expo yesterday. As the Taipei Pavilion's goodwill ambassador, Leehom Wang was one of the many performers featured on Taipei Day at the Expo.

Fans screamed when Leehom took the stage with the Taipei Symphony Orchestra (TSO). He kicked of the show with an upbeat remake of “I Smile When I See You (一見你就笑)”, followed by “Last Night”, “The One and Only” and “Open Your Heart”. During the last song, he added lines like “Taipei, Shanghai I love you” to please the local crowd.

First iPhone 4 camper spotted, one week early

Let's hope he got his preorder in, and that he's not waiting for the white one. Otherwise, he's going to be one unhappy camper, eh? Sorry, couldn't help ourselves.

What's going on with the HP Slate?

Interesting post by our friend Harry McCracken at Technologizer today, pointing out that HP's gone dead silent about the Slate ever since it announced plans to acquire Palm. Harry was at The Big Money's Untethered conference today, and HP CTO Phil McKinney was on stage, where he "talked about the downsides of using existing operating systems for new types of devices" and "extolled the virtues of webOS." Interesting topic, since the Slate very prominently ran Windows 7. When pressed, Phil said he couldn't talk about unreleased products, which is a big change: it's been six months since Steve Ballmer first showed the Slate at CES, and since then HP's produced several rah-rah videos, one of them featuring none other than Phil McKinney himself.

'Harry Potter' movie stars help christen Wizarding World

When you enter the Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Orlando Resort, you really do enter the world of Harry Potter.

"Bloody hell!" says Matthew Lewis when asked to describe it.

Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom in the Harry Potter films, was at Islands of Adventure this week for opening festivities; the attraction officially opens today.

He was joined by castmates including Daniel Radcliffe (Harry Potter), Rupert Grint (Ron Weasley), Tom Felton (Draco Malfoy) and Michael Gambon (Albus Dumbledore).

Justin Bieber on Megan Fox Interview: AWESOME!

First, he crushed on Kim Kardashian.

Then, he moved on to Cheryl Cole.

But Justin Bieber may be done seeking gorgeous girlfriends, now that the actress many consider to be the sexiest of all-time has expressed her affection for the young singer.

In a recent interview with E! News, Megan Fox said of Bieber: “He’s got more talent in those bangs than I’ve got in my whole body."

As you might expect, this got Justin excited, as he quickly Tweeted a link to Fox's quote:

Watch it yourself below and accept our apologies, tweens. In order to date the Biebs, you clearly need to be older and very, very hot:

Adam Lambert Debuts Half-Shaved Head on Twitter!

Adam Lambert got fans buzzing Thursday when he shaved what looked like his entire head and then took to his Twitter account to post an image of his newly shorn locks and Boy George-like get up. “Glam Nation Glam,” he Tweeted, while posting a photo showcasing his bedazzled ‘Glam Nation’ summer tour costume accessorized with his new do. But did this mean that the American Idol runner-up cropped his entire towering raven-colored coiff? “Calm down… Just shaved one side…” he Tweeted back to worried fans. Along with shaving only his right-sided tresses, the 28-year-old used some glitter to add some panache with two scratches for added flair. With his first U.S. solo tour in full swing, we can’t wait to see what other looks Lambert has in store for us!

Report: Tablets to outsell Netbooks in two years

Driven by the allure of the iPad, tablet PCs will surpass Netbooks in sales in just two years, according to a report released Thursday by Forrester Research.

In the U.S. alone, the burgeoning tablet industry is expected to sell 20.4 million units in 2015 compared with just 3.5 million this year, a compound annual growth rate of 42 percent, says Forrester's report "The U.S. Consumer PC Market in 2015." By 2014, more people will use tablets than Netbooks, and by 2015, tablets will make up 23 percent of all PC sales, forecasts Forrester.

"Tablet growth will come at the expense of Netbooks, which have a similar grab-and-go media consumption and Web browsing use case as tablets but don't synchronize data across services like the iPad does," Forrester Research Analyst Sarah Rotman Epps said in a statement. "Consumers didn't ask for tablets. In fact, Forrester's data shows that the top features consumers say they want in a PC are a complete mismatch with the features of the iPad. But Apple is successfully teaching consumers to want this new device."

Though the industry is still debating how to define a tablet, Forrester believes it should be classified as a type of personal computer. Fueled by their growing interest in tablets, consumers will scoop up almost half a billion PCs between now and 2015, says the report, a rise in unit sales of 52 percent. Those numbers encompass computers in all their various forms--desktops, notebooks, Netbooks, and tablets.

CDMA iPhone 4 (for Verizon?) to come in Q4

Earlier this month, when Apple announced the new iPhone 4, Steve Jobs said nothing about planning to make a CDMA version of the smartphone. And yet rumors about this have started, again, to appear.

According to DigiTimes (which is sometimes right and other times wrong), CDMA iPhone 4s (made by Pegatron) will be shipped to Apple starting the fourth quarter of 2010. And what will Apple do with CDMA iPhones? Most likely, it will sell them via Verizon – we’ve heard about a possible Apple-Verizon deal many times until now.

If Verizon will indeed have the iPhone 4 in Q4, this could seriously hurt Motorola and HTC, as many customers may want to choose Apple’s smartphone instead of their Droids.

AT&T announces the Samsung Captivate, aka Galaxy S

Everyone can now stop saying that AT&T isn’t trying when it comes to Android, as today the carrier announced it will be carrying the Samsung Captivate, which is essentially the Galaxy S. Powered by a 1GHz Hummingbird processor and running Android 2.1, the Captivate features a 4″ WVGA Super AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera with 720p video recording, 16GB of internal memory and a 7.2Mbps HSDPA radio. Need a release date? Well too bad, because all AT&T will say is that the Captivate is “scheduled for release in the coming months.” Such a shame.

First look at Rain’s comeback drama

Remember when we first announced that Rain will star in a new drama alongside actress Lee Na Young?

Well, filming for this drama finally started in Seoul late night on the 16th to the early hours of the 17th, and some information from this first filming session has been revealed. In this KBS drama called 도망자 (Runaway / Fugitive), actress Lee Na Young plays the role of a smart clever character named Jinee. During the filming, Lee Na Young was shown wearing a classy black colored one piece dress and sporting a wavy hairstyle.

Meanwhile, Ji Woo, an optimistic character that Rain plays in the drama, decides to challenge himself by taking on a case that no one was able to solve. He was shown wearing a chic white knit shirt and a matching suit. In order for the cast to be comfortable with their roles and concentrate better, the affiliated officials for the drama has kept the filming process a top secret.

Cecilia Cheung to star in Derek Yee's new film

Hong Kong actress-singer Cecilia Cheung's first film after giving birth to her second son with actor Nicolas Tse will be a collaborative work with director Derek Yee, the "Yangcheng Evening Post" reports.

Yee said Cheung would sign the film contract after he came back from the ongoing Shanghai Film Festival. Yee also said he had been waiting for two years for Cheung to make the film when her second pregnancy postponed the project.

"Lost in Time," Yee and Cheung's first film together, helped Cheung win the best actress award at the Hong Kong Film Awards in 2004.

Yee, 52, has been directing for 24 years. The talented director has won more than 60 awards both at home and abroad for his 14 films. Before becoming a director, Yee was a successful actor who starred in about 40 movies.

Cheung gave birth to her second son, Quintus, last month. She had been absent from the entertainment industry for about three years since she had her first son, Lucas, in 2007.

Raymond Lam to dance with men at concert, absolutely no, "gayness"

Raymond Lam's will be held on July 29th in Hong Kong Coliseum. yesterday at the press conference, he announced that tickets to both nights have already sold out. Raymond got all wet for last year's concert, but this time he'll have something new. However, he kept his mouth sealed, keeping it mysterious. He only expressed that there will be fireworks and the audience in the entire venue will have something hot to watch. There won't be sadness, passionate or sexy feelings anymore, no more hot dances with sexy female dancers. Instead he'll be dancing with a group of male dancers. He tells everyone not to worry, there won't be a sense of "gayness:. He said: "Last time we didn't do this, this time we're doing it. For example, last time audiences were playing me, this time I'm playing them back".

As for his series , following the plagarism rumors of Japanese drama , this week's broadcast of is said to have plagarized an episode from another drama starring Takuya Kimura . and both had violations in their NMR tests, both Raymond and Takuya used computers and displayed same images of the hippocampus. To this, Raymond laughed out loud: "Plagarized again? Sorry, we filmed this series earler than them. was filmed middle of last year and will not copy. Most detective shows are similar, the detective stories I've had read since youth have been like this. The arrangement is different, but the concepts are the same. It's always the one who doesn't look like a murderer is the murderer. "Raymond felt that plagraism or not is not for him to say, he is just an actor, just responsible for doing well on the role. Once it broadcasts, if there are people talking about it and liking it, then he's already satisfied.

Verizon Motorola DROID X shows up on “coming soon” teaser

There’s not really a whole lot for us to say here, but Verizon’s official Droid website is now showing the Droid X as “coming soon.” The site mentions that the Droid X has a 4.3″ display, “720p display” and HDMI output, and also allows potential customers to enter in their email address to get further details about the phone. Perhaps a press release will be coming along sooner than expected?

Verizon has realized its mistake and “720p display” now reads “captures 720p”.

Amazon Prices Kinect At $149

While Microsoft has yet to release pricing details for the Kinect motion control camera, retailers are having no such hesitation, Amazon now joining GameStop in charging $149 for the device.

This is still not official confirmation, of course, as it's only a pre-order and pre-order prices can change, but when two of the biggest gaming retailers in the US come up with the same price in the same week Kinect is shown off, it certainly makes an rrp of $149 look likely.

It's $149 at Walmart & Best Buy, too.

Toshiba's 128GB NAND Flash Memory In Your Next Phone

They invented flash memory, so it's only fitting that Toshiba has now produced another world first for NAND memory: the first with 128GB of capacity. Just think what media you could store on your phone with that module.

It squishes 16 64Gb of NAND chips together, and should be shipping out to manufacturers this September. Will it be seen in phones anytime soon? iPods, even?

Samsung Galaxy Tab P1000 tablet sports WiFi and 3G data, about as thick as an iPhone?

Samsung's 7-inch Tab has certainly captured everyone's attention as another possible anti-iPad tablet. So far, Samsung's only saying that its Galaxy Tab will launch in Q3 without providing much in the way of detail other than this picture tweeted (and then pulled) by a Samsung's official Twitter account in South Africa. Since then we've seen rumored specs that include Android 2.2, a 7-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz A8 processor, 4,000mAH battery, 370-gram weight, and 16GB of on-board memory with up to 32GB of microSD expansion.

Today we've received an anonymous tip with even more info. After a series of communications with this person, we're confident enough to at least pass along what was said. Mind you, we're still classifying it as rumor until we see further evidence. First off, our source claims to have spent time with the same four-button device we saw in the video yesterday. The "sturdy and well-built" tablet was "very thin," described as about the same thickness as an iPhone. Our source says that the P1000 model is correct and that it will indeed feature "full phone functionality" albeit without a dedicated earpiece on the bezel -- for audio, you'll have to rely on a Bluetooth headset or the P1000's speaker. Thank gawd... the last thing we want to see is someone screaming into a 7-inch tablet held to the side of their head. There's a front-facing camera for video calling and a 3.2 megapixel camera around back for shooting pictures and video. Granted, 3.2 megapixels seems suspiciously low for the notoriously pixel greedy Samsung. Besides Bluetooth, we're told that the Galaxy Tab will also feature WiFi and 3G data, a standard SIM slot, and can tether over USB or WiFi. Oh, and the battery can't be removed and the version our source used had a 6x4 icon layout and appeared to be running stock Android 2.2 Froyo. Interesting, eh?

P.S. GPS too.
