Simply gorgeous! Jennifer Aniston takes no-frills approach to the red carpet - as per usual

With that hair and that figure, Jennifer Aniston doesn't need much to look a knock-out.

And so she kept it simple once more, sticking to the All-American, classic look she prefers at the premiere of The Switch last night in a strapless Lanvin dress.

With her blonde hair down past her shoulders, and strappy Josie and Lottie sandals, she looked effortlessly beautiful, if a little under-dressed for the big Hollywood premiere of the film she stars in.

The 41-year-old carried a Ferragamo crocodile clutch as she walked the red carpet in Hollywood.

Her premiere came on the same night that her one-time love rival Angelina Jolie was walking the red carpet in London.

How Rooney Mara Became "Girl With Dragon Tattoo"

Bringing an end to the mounting suspense surrounding one of the biggest talent hunts in years, director David Fincher on Monday phoned Rooney Mara, a relatively unknown young actress, to break the good news.

Moments later, Columbia announced that Mara had been chosen to play punk hacker Lisbeth Salander in the English-language movie adaptation of Stieg Larsson's international best-seller, "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo."

Until the surprise announcement, Mara was best known -- at least among hard-core horror movie fans -- as the girl who fought Freddy Krueger earlier this year in the remake of "A Nightmare on Elm Street."

But all that is changing rapidly. Not only has Mara landed the coveted "Dragon" role opposite Daniel Craig, who will play investigative journalist Mikael Blomkvist, she also will appear in Fincher's new movie about the early days of Facebook, "The Social Network," which will open the prestigious New York Film Festival on September 24.

Report says Apple to launch 7-inch iPad by Christmas

Apple is readying another tablet similar to the iPad but with a 7-inch touchscreen for launch as early as the end of this year, according to a major Taiwanese newspaper.

This is the second report of an iPad 2 sighting in Taiwan, and it comes from the island's Chinese-language Economic Daily News financial newspaper, which was among the first to correctly report that Apple was making a tablet when other news sources said it would be a netbook. The launch of the original iPad proved the paper correct.

Taiwan's Digitimes newspaper last week reported that Taiwanese companies were starting to assemble a 7-inch iPad for Apple.

The Economic Daily reports that Taiwanese companies have won a number of component contracts for the iPad 2. Chimei Innolux will supply 7-inch LCD screens, which use the same IPS (in-plane switching) technology found in the original iPad, which improves viewing angles and color on LCD screens. Touchscreen technology for the screens will come from Cando Corporation, the report says.

Motorola’s Android tablet for Verizon called Stingray?

We’ve heard about Motorola’s upcoming Android tablet for Verizon more than once, and yet one detail has remained hidden until now: the tablet’s name.

If we’re to believe this latest rumor showed up at Droid-life, Moto’s first Android tablet could be called Stingray.

That’s a good name, I guess. After all, stingrays are really flat – like a tablet should be.

The new name appears in a leaked document next to the model number MZ600 (seen yesterday in Verizon’s database).

From the info gathered until now, Verizon’s Motorola tablet should feature a 10 inch display, Android Gingerbread, mobile TV, mobile hotspot capabilities and two cameras.

The tablet could be out in November – by then, we’ll probably find out if it’s called Motorola Stingray or not.

HanKyung’s reason for suing SM Ent, “To the extent I wanted to commit suicide”

Super Junior HanKyung talks about the reason to why he got into a legal disagreement with his agency SM Entertainment, “It was because I was put through great stress and I even wanted to commit suicide.”

HanKyung appeared on a Taiwanese program ‘Song ChunHwa Life Show’ on 17th August where he said, “The reason why I sued SM was because of the great stress I was put through and I even thought of suicide.”

With that, the MC said, “Your father sent a letter from Beijing.” In the letter, even though all that was written was just greetings, the great love from his father can be felt. Part of the letter went, “Have your flu recovered? Take care of your body. I know my son is going through a hard time. But think of your fans and endure.”

Joey Yung disfigured scar reveals a deeper level of pain

Earlier Joey Yung's record company especially invested to produce the first Hong Kong female artist 3D MV for her new song Disfigured (破相). A telecommunications company helped her shoot a whole new version, Joey does not hesitate to ruin herself, suggesting to add a blooded scar on her face. Joey explained: "This song gives off a strong pain feeling, like you need to see a scar, so one realistic painful scar is born just like that." Joey also praises the make-up artist's speed and talent, completed the scar in less than 10 minutes.

Besides having a scar on her face, Joey wants to show the permanent pain of the inner heart expressed in the song. To accomplish this, she especially put on a pale looking make-up, while the director asked Joey to use her inner heart's deepest pain expression to display the level of pain conveyed in the song. She penetrated her painful expressions vividly and won admiration from the staff. The staff praised her leaps and bounds acting. She said: "Perhaps I just finished shooting a movie recently, so I had practice. However, the key point is the song itself, already gave me the right feeling. When I was recording this song, the producer (Chan Fai Yeung) already directed me into character, so when I shot this MV, I easily got into character."

How has Britney Spears got her dancer's legs back... in just two weeks?

Britney Spears appeared to be totally back on track and in the best shape of her life as she arrived for her second week's work in the studio yesterday.

Looking stunning in a white vest top - and bra for once - along with taupe tuxedo-style shorts and super-high wedge sandals, the star appeared toned, healthy and happy.

And the miraculous transformation of her legs ensured the blonde singer's remains the world's best advert for exercise.

Just two weeks ago her wobbly thighs and dumpy look told a very different story.

Dressed in cut down shorts and a tank top, Britney's legs didn't appear to be in such great shape, as she grabbed a frozen coffee from Starbucks. But she seems to have done something to turn it around, as she unveiled a stunning pair of legs in her tuxedo shorts yesterday.

It was for once a good look for the singer who has in the past made some rather dubious sartorial choices.

And at one point became more well known for her habit of stepping outside without any underwear.

Former Sports Illustrated model turned actress Molly Sims, has said she would love to give Britney a makeover.

'I would take away the boots, the tank tops,' Sims, 37, told Health magazine.

Nokia X3-02 Touch and Type puts a touchscreen on your Series 40 featurephone

Nokia has just announced the X3-02 Touch and Type – one of the most interesting S40 phones ever, because it’s the first to have a fully functional touchscreen display (2.4 inch, QVGA).

It also has a standard alphanumeric keypad, and that makes it even more interesting.

Sure enough, the idea isn’t new: Nokia has made somewhat similar handsets before, like the 3208c and 6208c. But those are made exclusively for the Chinese market, are stylus-operated and I have my doubts about them being full-touch enabled.

There will be 12 songs in total in the album, and the album will be titled ‘To Anyone’. “There will be 3 songs assigned as the title songs and the girls will promote them at the same time. As a music producer, even though I’ve heard of a double title song, this will be the first time I hear about 3 songs as the title songs. Everyone will get to learn about them in a while.”

Andy Hui apologizes to his ex-girlfriends; Former assistant reveals the secret romance with Andy

In July, Andy Hui announced to the media that he broke up with his girlfriend Michelle Yu and that he's single again. In the last half month, the "drama" got out of hand, initially this is an issue between Andy and Michelle, but even old lover Sammi Cheng was dragged into the drama. A few days after the announcement, Sammi wrote a 1000 character article clarifying that she did not get back with Andy. Who would have thought that the day before another "Ching Ngau Kam" comes out. Andy's former assistant, nicknamed "Little Bro" (Poon Hang Jeung), announced her 'secret romance' with Andy several years ago. Andy suffered from love injuries and at the same time is accused of being a "jerk" and "big liar lover". Andy, now full of ants, expressed his apologies yesterday. He said that he wants to be a good person, but is not good enough. He admits that he has mistreated his women.

The day before, Little Bro announced that she is Andy's old lover and supported Andy saying he's not a jerk. However, the more Little Bro tried to help, the worse it got, people are now accusing Andy as the "big liar lover". Yesterday Edmond Leung, William So and Andy were doing the dance rehearsal together, he faces the media again.

Molly Sims Wants to Give Britney Spears a Makeover

If Molly Sims could give any celebrity a makeover, she says it’d be Britney Spears. “I would take away the boots, the tank tops,” Sims, 37, says in the September issue of Health magazine. “She’s so pretty-she just needs help with dressing. She gets too many trends going at once.” But the actress and cover model admits that she’s had her own share of flawed fashion moments. “I had braces for two-and-a-half years, and I promise you, I wouldn’t have been the same girl if I didn’t. I would not have smiled.” In fact, Sims tells the magazine that she’s “not not a proponent of cosmetic surgery.” And as someone whose life has centered around the importance of looks, she says, “I think I’ve done every crazy diet there was in the beginning, but it’s weird: I’m thinner now than I was when I was modeling.” To hear more from Molly, pick up the September issue of Health, on newsstands Friday.

Samsung Galaxy S GPS-gate: two problems, not one (and what to do about it)

You may have noticed the update on our Epic 4G review from yesterday where we lauded the fact that Samsung seemed to have fixed the GPS problem plaguing every other Galaxy S flavor released thus far, but it turns out there are actually two distinct issues. One has a fix -- sort of -- while the other is hopefully what we're going to get next month. Here are the two failure modes, based on what we know so far:
  • "Use wireless networks" is now turned off by default, but even with it on, the phone may be slow or unable to determine even a rough location. Originally, we'd believed this was the only problem. Samsung tells us that it's a new Google mandate that Android devices be shipped with the "use wireless networks" option disabled, which means you're relying on traditional GPS alone to determine your location -- a lost cause indoors, in urban canyons, or under dense tree cover. Indeed, we discovered it was turned off on our Captivate, Vibrant, and Epic 4G after fresh hard resets, and there's no indication to the user that it's probably in their best interest to enable it; we're accustomed to being presented with the option during account setup on other Android devices, but it doesn't happen here. After enabling it from settings, we found that both the Captivate and Epic 4G were able to get our location with 1,000 to 1,500-meter accuracy practically immediately in Google Maps, though the Vibrant still never came through; it had the weakest signal of the three, which may have accounted for that (though it never dropped the signal altogether).
  • The regular GPS circuitry and software aren't doing their job. Cell tower triangulation and WiFi location database services like Skyhook only take you so far -- at the end of the day, you still need to tune in to the birds a few thousand miles up to figure out precisely where you are. All Galaxy S models seem to be having trouble turning GPS reception into coordinates, even when the phone is able to see four or more satellites in view (four is the minimum you normally need for a precise, three-dimensional lock). In some cases, resetting the phone apparently helps, but it ceases to work again after a day or two of use. To our knowledge, none of the homebrew fixes out there have been able to solve this part of the problem perfectly and permanently. The Captivate and Vibrant are both affected by this one; we're not sure on the Epic, but we're working to nail it down.

What this means for you: for now, simply make sure you have "Use wireless networks" checked in your Galaxy S's settings under the "Location & security" menu. It won't get you the most reliable, precise location you should be entitled to, but it's a start -- and next month's round of firmware updates should hopefully take us the rest of the way.

Irene Wan shows her motherly side

The former sex-bomb has adopted a child from China and has been learning how to be a good mother to her new child

After 10 years of marriage, former sex-bomb Irene Wan has given up on trying to conceive and decided to adopt instead.

The 44-year-old adopted baby Xavier in Jiangsu, China in July and she is currently in the midst of applying American citizenship for the baby.

When interviewed, Irene admitted that her decision to have a child came too late.

"I used to have a fear of pregnancy after seeing so many friends get married, have a child but ended up in divorce. And now that I've finally decided to have a kid, my age and body doesn't allow me to."

She revealed that the idea of adopting came to her when she saw two of her friends doing the same thing and they appeared very happy.

"I received the relevant information and photos in May. When I saw my baby in the photo, I liked him already and I felt an affinity between us."

Xavier was a sickly child when Irene first took him home, so the star got her first test of motherhood as she tried to nurse him back to health.

'Girl with the Dragon Tattoo' finds its Lisbeth Salander: Rooney Mara

Sony announced today that Rooney Mara (The Social Network) will play pixie hacker Lisbeth Salander in its three-picture adaptation of Stieg Larsson’s Millennium Trilogy, under the direction of David Fincher.

Fincher’s search for Lisbeth has drawn intense scrutiny over the last few weeks, especially over whether Sony will gamble on an unknown actress to carry such an important franchise. Insiders have long assured that an unfamiliar thesp would land the role but many in town suggested that it would make more sense to go with an experienced talent. And regardless of experience, Lisbeth Salander won’t be an easy role to play: The filmmaker’s current plan is to have all the players speak with Swedish accents, a decision that could potentially prove distracting. Should the accents not be delivered flawlessly, the film’s stars could also be a potential target for ridicule.

Fincher will direct The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo from a screenplay by Steve Zaillian. Produced by Scott Rudin, Cean Chaffin, Ole Sondberg, and Søren Stærmose with Mikael Wallen and Anni Fernandez on as executive producers, Dragon Tattoo will begin shooting next month in Sweden for worldwide release Dec. 21, 2011. Mara joins the already cast Daniel Craig, who will portray Mikael Blomkist, and Robin Wright, who will assume the role of Erika Berger.

Meanwhile, it has been claimed that Robsten might quit Hollywood so they can focus on their relationship.

“They are considering changing their lives so they can concentrate on their relationship and get away from stardom,” a source said.

“Kristen’s suggested they try theater work and indie films. They are both incredibly talented actors and very well thought of in the industry.

“Despite starring in big-budget productions, they’ve managed to retain credibility, so theater is the perfect option.”

Angelina Jolie sparkles in sequins as she meets and greets her fans at the London premiere of her new film Salt

Angelina Jolie took to the red carpet tonight and received a rapturous welcome from the crowds at the London premiere of her highly anticipated action film Salt.

A black and white carpet was laid for the arrival of Hollywood's biggest female star and nobody shone brighter than the 35 year old in a nude-coloured Amanda Wakely sequinned dress.

As she got out of her car, she waded straight in signing autographs and taking her time to walk the carpet which was specially printed with the name of the film.

But there were concerns over her health as she was looking extremely thin as she stopped and talked to fans that had been waiting outside the Empire cinema in Leicester Square all day.

Her dress, although beautiful on her, swamped her tiny frame and did nothing to flatter her.

She said that she had brought her two-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne with her to London but the others had stayed at home.

And she said actor partner Brad Pitt was unable to attend due to work commitments but added: 'We miss London...we love it here.'

Raymond Lam Gives Ah Sa 999 Red Roses Wishing Her Happy Chinese Valentine's Day

Although debuted for many years, Raymond Lam who has all along been in Hong Kong finally came to Chengdu for the first time to attend the Chengdu news conference for "The Jade and the Pearl". Even though fans were unable to enter the location of the news conference, a crowd of fans were waiting outside the venue holding lit "Fung" signs. Ah Sa who has visited Chengdu on numerous occasions expressed that she is willing to be Raymond's tour guide around Chengdu. Ah Sa revealed that being a "good eating partner," on the way to Chengdu, the two had already chatted on the plane and must go eat hotpot in the evening: "It really is very tasty, it's a completely different taste than in Hong Kong." Perhaps it's because of filming as lovers in "The Jade and the Pearl", each time the two answer questions of this sort, there is complete tacit understanding. When asked by reporters whether Charlene had any particular view on love after filming this romantic comedy, Ah Sa replied: "Leave it to fate." Raymond immediately responded that his own view is the same: "Relationship matters, let nature take its course."

With Chinese Valentine's Day (Double-Seventh Day) coming up, acting as lovers in the movie, Charlene and Raymond naturally have to 'express' themselves. At yesterday's Beijing news conference, the scene of Charlene and Raymond eating strawberries led many to 'drop their glasses.' Today in Chengdu, Raymond came out with 999 red roses as a present to Ah Sa, wishing her a happy Chinese Valentine's Day. Faced with so many roses, Ah Sa both happy and worried commented: "I love roses the most, this is my first time being given so many roses. But there's one problem, how do I bring them all back to Hong Kong?"

James Cameron talks 'Avatar' sequel, the evolution of 3D, and respect for his geeks

Usually a couple of decades need to pass before a classic motion picture gets brought back to the big screen for a major rerelease. So leave it to Avatar — the film that’s broken all the records — to pull it off in just eight months. On Aug. 27, the movie that’s already grossed nearly $3 billion worldwide will be returning to about a thousand 3-D screens across the country, with nine additional minutes of footage. EW sat down with James Cameron to ask him how things are going on the sequel, what he thinks about the post-Pandora explosion of 3D in Hollywood, and how he really felt about losing to his ex-wife at the Oscars earlier this year.

EW: So what’s in the extra nine minutes?
JAMES CAMERON: Cool stuff. All cool stuff. There’s a big rousing sequence where they’re hunting these herd animals called sturmbeests. There’s another new creature that you haven’t seen before called the stingbat. There’s a really powerful emotional scene toward the end of the film where the leader of the Na’vi is dying after a battle. There’s a bit more in the love scene with Jake and Neytiri. There’s more bioluminescent stuff in the night forest. Little bits and pieces here and there.

Why Neil Patrick Harris is So Important to the Gay Community

Over the weekend, Neil Patrick Harris and his partner of six years, actor David Burtka, announced that they will welcome twins into their family this fall. "So, get this: David and I are expecting twins this fall. We're super excited/nervous/thrilled. Hoping the press can respect our privacy..." Harris tweeted shortly after E! Online broke the news.

When the twins arrive, Harris and Burtka will become the highest-profile gay parents in the country. For the gay community, this is a very good thing. Harris has defied the odds since coming out of the closet; his career has never been better, and by all accounts he is arguably among the more universally-beloved actors working today. People love NPH. He and Burtka exude a normalcy uncommon in media representations of gay men, and with their committed relationship and career successes, they continue to tear down the stereotypes that haunt the gay community and keep GLBT persons from enjoying the same rights and freedoms as their straight allies.

"For over two decades, Americans have followed Neil Patrick Harris' journey from child star to popular leading man. Now, many will look on as he and his partner build a family together," Jarrett Barrios, president of the Gay & Lesbian Alliance of Defamation (GLAAD) tells PopEater. "As more and more loving and committed gay and lesbian couples start families together, it is important to see stories like Neil's that reflect what most fair-minded Americans already know: gay people and our families are no different than them. For many, Neil is the first gay person they've seen come out, fall in love and become a dad, and his story is helping Americans understand that gay people deserve the same opportunity to take care of our families and loved ones."

Danielle Staub Fired? 'Real Housewives' Star Reponds

Danielle Staub is firing back at reports claiming she's been let go from Bravo's 'Real Housewives of New Jersey.' Staub, who is known for her controversial on-screen catfights, insists we haven't seen the last of her. "Actually, I'm not even thinking about season three right now, as I am considering many incredible options that have been presented to me," Staub tells PopEater in an official statement. "Right now, I just want to let fans know that we have a fantastic finale coming up next week and explosive reunion shows on August 30 and September 6. Don't worry next year, I'll still be the one you either love to hate or hate to love."

Life & Style claims Staub hasn't been invited back for the show's third season, adding it "came as a complete shock" (via Huffington Post).

An insider adds that Staub is working on a spin-off reality series (like Bethenny Frankel's), which will focus on her life and her daughter's careers.

Internet Explorer Turns 15 Today

15 years ago today, Microsoft launched Internet Explorer 1.0, the first version of a browser that would eventually command nearly 95% market share. Happy birthday IE, you've been around for hyperlinks, hash tags, and everything in between.

Adobe CEO: we’ve moved on from Apple and the iPad

iPads?! We don’t need no stinking iPads! Shantanu Narayen, Adobe’s CEO, was recently asked about his feelings on Apple’s iPad, more specifically the Cupertino company’s reluctance to allow Adobe’s Flash platform on their popular tablet. Mr. Narayen did not mince words when he responded to the inquiries, “Apple have made their choice, we’ve made ours and we’ve moved on,” quipped the CEO. Adobe’s chief continued: “There are companies that are choosing to provide a complete end-to-end experience and control every aspect of it and want all the business model gains from it. There are other companies that have chosen to say that the open eco-system is the way to go and that’s how you would contrast Apple and Google’s business models. We’re on the side of the open.” Before ending the interview Narayen said he felt that the whole situation was a bit overplayed and that his company’s “doors were open.”

HTC Droid Incredible now in stock again

For those of you still holding out for the HTC Droid Incredible, good news! The smartphone is now in stock again, but you might want to act fast on this one as there’s no telling how long it will last.

The Droid Incredible has been incredibly popular since its debut onto the smartphone scene, with demand surpassing the supply back in May. But between high demand and a AMOLED shortage, the Droid Incredible has been on back order for most of the summer. Verizon Wireless even issued gift cards to waiting customers just to keep them happy…and perhaps to prevent them from buying other large summer releases like the iPhone 4, Droid X and now the Droid 2.

But now, the Incredible is live for purchase on Verizon’s website again. Pricing is set still at $199.99 after rebates, with the signing of a two-year service agreement and picking up a data plan.

The Droid Incredible is lined up to get an Android 2.2 update this month, so it looks like the stars are truly aligning for Verizon. Well, with the exception of that big product roadmap leak this morning.

The book tells the story of the “Some Like It Hot” actress two years prior to her death in 1962 from the perspective of her dog Maf, given to her as a gift from pal Frank Sinatra. George Clooney will appear as Old Blue Eyes in the biopic, O’Hagan said.

Monroe was previously played by actress Mira Sorvino in the 1996 made-for-TV movie From Norma Jean to Marilyn. In addition, Scarlett Johansson and Michelle Rodriguez are on a shortlist of actresses who may play the screen legend in a big screen adaptation of another book about Monroe, My Week with Marilyn.

Mel Gibson Crashes Car in Malibu

Mel Gibson crashed his car in Malibu on Sunday night. The actor lost control of his vehicle and struck a rocky hillside, sources tell TMZ.

"For unknown reasons, Mr. Gibson steered his car to the right and struck the rock hillside. He stopped his car at the scene and was contacted by officers from the West Valley CHP Area," the report reads. "Mr. Gibson supplied all the pertinent information to the officers at the scene, gave a statement, and received a ride home from a friend."

Enough damage was done to Gibson's 2008 Maserati that it had to be towed from the scene of the accident. Mel himself was fine. Police inform TMZ that alcohol was not a factor.

A rep for the actor told PEOPLE, "He's fine."

Gibson told an officer on the scene he was not talking on phone and had not dozed off.

Sony PSP Ad Mocks Apple iPhone Gaming

Apple has taken shots at the DS and PSP. The iPhone has more games, they say. Sony fires back with this ad, basically saying, yeah, but our games are better.

I've seen game companies take shots at each other in ads. It's common. In fact, mocking Nintendo has been a seasonal sport for Mario rivals. But I had not seen a game company take a shot in an ad at Apple before, thinly veiled or not.

Sony will surely find sympathizers with those who struggle to sift the good games from the many terrible ones in Apple's App store. But Sony's actions do also seem like those of a company feeling the pressure of supporting a platform that is losing support and entering a holiday season without a large number of new top games.

Capacitive touchscreens to take 50% of touchphone market

It’s only been what, three years, since Apple unveiled the original iPhone and changed everyone’s perception of how easy to use a touchscreen can be?

That all happened thanks to capacitive touchscreen technology. Touchscreens had been around for ages before the iPhone, but the most used type were resistive touchscreens. These are more accurate, but require a press rather than just a touch in most cases, and the extra layers they have to have make use a tad less intuitive.

It looks like capacitive touchscreens will make up 40-50% of the touchscreen market in 2011, as touch panel makers continue to expand their capacitive touchscreen production facilities.

Of course, resistive touchscreens are still the most used, and will continue to be next year, because they’re cheaper and they’re more sought after in Asia. Because a resistive touchscreen is more accurate and operation with a stylus is very easy, some countries with complicated writing patterns still see great demand for phones featuring this type of technology.

Leather Lambert: American Idol's Adam vamps it up in bizarre laced trousers

It's not an outfit that's built for comfort.

Adam Lambert squeezed himself into a pair of leather lace-up trousers as he left a hotel in Montreal yesterday.

Let' s hope the American Idol alumni doesn't need to go to the bathroom too frequently because those look like they could take a while to undo.

Combined with a black t-shirt and black tuxedo jacket with leather lapels, the singer appeared to have vamped his style back up after being spotted last week looking less coiffed.

The flamboyant star was caught unawares by photographers with his hair un-styled and wearing no make up.

The black leather trousers prove that Adam is back on the fashion track.

Lindsay Leaving Rehab This Week

Sounds like things are starting to look up for Lindsay Lohan. There's a very strong possibility that Lilo will be released from rehab this week.

Lindsay may not have to complete the full duration of her 90-day court-ordered stint in the treatment facility at UCLA because doctors believe her drug and psychiatric problems are not as severe as they once thought.

Sources tell TMZ it is "very possible" that Lindsay will be freed from rehab this week and allowed to continue treatment as an outpatient.

Here's the catch though: even if doctors believe she should be released early, a judge has to sign off on the release. But Judge Elden Fox, who recently replaced Judge Marsha Revel will most likely sign the release if doctors believe there's no need for her to complete the 90 days.

While Lindsay will be thrilled about the news, her dad Michael Lohan is sure to be pissed. He actually predicted this.

Both Verizon Wireless iPhone and next generation iPad about to hit field testing?

One of our Apple sources has just informed us of something very interesting. Way down deep within iOS 4 is a pretty intriguing block of code. Our source says that the code queries the device, and if the device is either a CDMA iPhone or iPad 2, the device will auto-activate, thus bypassing the need for iTunes. We’re told this block of code has appeared every year consecutively before a major iPhone / device release, removed right before launch. This allows the products to be field tested by carriers (or partners) without having to activate the handsets or devices. Whether Apple has done this to make sure AT&T or other carriers looking at activation logs don’t find anything, or just for the sake of simplicity isn’t clear.

Lastly, we’ve been told from a separate source that the platform code of the CDMA iPhone is N92AP (Daring Fireball’s John Gruber has said it was N92), and the platform code for the next-gen iPod touch is N81AP.
