Yesterday, Apple released the latest version of its web browser, Safari 5. In their release notes, they highlight not only new features, but also the fact that it’s faster than the latest versions of Chrome and Firefox. One competitor they didn’t mention was the most-used web browser in the world: Internet Explorer. Today, Microsoft has responded to that.
In a post on their Blogging Windows blog, the IE team has posted a video showing the latest version of IE, IE9 (still in beta testing), running against Safari 5. The result? IE smokes Safari. It’s not even close.

You snooze, you lose. That’s exactly what thousands of EVO 4G hopefuls are learning today as the smartphone that smashed Sprint sales records has gone out of stock across the country. So what can we learn from all of this? While sitting outside a retailer in a lawn chair the night before sale looks absolutely ridiculous, at least it pretty much guarantees that you won’t have to deal with the heartbreak of it being out of stock after 200,000 of them are snapped up.

It’s been long established (albeit unofficially) that T-Mobile will launch the Samsung Galaxy S, but a timeframe for release has always eluded us. That is until one of TmoNews’ tipsters threw their hat into the ring. According to them, the big date for the launch of the most advanced T-Mobile, Android handset will be July 21st; a date that lines up nicely with what we said a while back. Of course that doesn’t change the fact it would be odd for T-Mobile to release the Galaxy S so late into the summer, while everyone is clamoring to get an EVO 4G and iPhone 4, but hey… They’re the nation’s fourth-largest carrier for a reason, right?

Three weeks ago the boys of Big Bang dropped the MV for Tell Me Goodbye and now the singles album for Tell Me Goodbye has finally been released in Japan. The album contains three tracks in total: 1)Tell Me Goodbye 2) Hands Up 3) Tell Me Goodbye Remix and each of the tracks are superb. I have a feeling this album will do very well on the Oricon charts.
Check out the official photos + behind the scenes photos from the Tell Me Goodbye MV along with the tracks below. Thanks to everyone who sent this in. Support the boys by purchasing the album at Yesasia.

Nokia's already taken us on a guided tour through quite a few of the N8's features, but it's now back with another video to highlight a couple of particularly standout ones -- namely, the phone's photo and video capabilities. Of the two, the video editor seems to be the most impressive -- it'll let you add both photos and videos to a storyboard, trim clips, and add and customize titles and transitions, to name a few features, and do so with what seems to be a relatively simple to use interface. You'll also of course be able to take advantage of the N8's support for USB On-The-Go, which will let you pull photos and videos off of any USB drive if you need to edit video in a pinch. Head on past the break for the complete video demonstration.

When we first exposed the iPhone 4 to the world, many of you were skeptical about its authenticity. Frankly, so were we, initially anyway. A device with black seams disrupting its otherwise clean lines just couldn't be from Apple, a company notorious for its obsessive design aesthetic. Well, now that the iPhone 4 is official, Steve took a moment to explain that the stainless steel band is actually an integral part of the iPhone's antenna system -- one part dedicated to Bluetooth, WiFi, and GPS; the other larger half to UMTS and GSM. Something that, according to Steve, has never been done before in a phone. We'll have to wait a bit before we know whether this "brilliant engineering" translates into fewer dropped calls for frustrated AT&T customers. But it's hard to imagine that Apple would take the time to show its antennas to developers if there wasn't a downstream reward for consumers. Remember, Steve did say last week that things "should be getting a lot better soon" on AT&T. Click through to hear Apple's loyal software developers ooh and aah over the iPhone's really cool ability to convert electromagnetic radiation into electrical current, and back. Amazing.
