Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas: Out, About, Holding Hands

Hey readers, We officially present Gonas! Or maybe... Jeene? Does Jashley work for anyone?

While Ashley Greene and Joe Jonas must work on a couple's nickname, they don't need to worry about being adorable together. That task is already accomplished, as evidenced by the first photos of the pair out, about, and holding hands!

As seen above, Ashley and Joe strolled down a street in Los Angeles yesterday, picking up items for a a birthday party in honor of the latter's brother, Frankie.

Reports of this relationship first surfaced in July, with sources recently saying the pair spent a weekend in Florida meeting Greene's parents. Sounds serious, huh?

No wonder Ashley looked so happy in Paris, splashing around and filming a movie with Miley Cyrus. She had a cutie waiting for her at home! We wish this couple nothing but the best.

Nintendo 3DS Mii Studio, Super Street Fighter IV 3D & more get video demos

More details on the Nintendo 3DS are filtering out after the company’s 2010 conference, and while the headline is obviously the confirmed Japanese price and release date there are also some tidbits about functionality. An official demo video shows the integrated Mii Studio app and how it can use the 3DS’ external cameras to take a snapshot of you – or your grinning father – and then create a Mii from that photo.

Meanwhile other confirmed functionality includes the auto-exchanging of information whenever two 3DS units are nearby each other. When the 3DS is in tag mode, it will automatically work out when the two gamers first met, the total number of times it has happened since then, and what game was played on the last occasion. Of course there’s also the active WiFi during the 3DS’ sleep mode, which is used to download rankings and free software.

Finally, Nintendo also showed off some gaming demos (grabbed by Nintendo3DSBlog) including Super Street Fighter IV 3D, Mario Kart and Paper Mario, along with some of the Resident Evil titles and more. You can see them below.

'Star Wars' movies to be rereleased in 3-D, Lucasfilm announces

The Star Wars saga is about to get a lot more dimensional. Lucasfilm announced Tuesday that all six Star Wars movies will return to theaters in 3-D, according to Variety. The first film to hit screens will be Episode I: The Phantom Menace — it’ll be released wide sometime in 2012. The movies’ 3-D conversion is being handled by outside vendors and will be overseen by Industrial Light & Magic visual effects supervisor John Knoll. “It’s not going to look like [conversions] we’ve seen in the past,” Knoll told Variety. Stereoscopic conversion has been a sticky subject of late, especially after the much-criticized last-minute conversions of movies like Clash of the Titans and The Last Airbender.

Knoll also said that George Lucas isn’t planning to further “enhance” any of the visual effects this time around. When the original trilogy was rereleased in 1997, Lucas altered several scenes and tinkered with many of the effects — much to many fans’ dismay.

Dell launching 7-inch Android tablet in 'next few weeks,' 10-incher to follow a few months later

Good news, folks. It's looking like the tablet pool will be enriched with another 7-inch contender, running Android, within only a few weeks. The Wall Street Journal cites Dell's Greater China President Amit Midha as saying that the 7-inch slate we witnessed Michael teasing a few short days ago will be with us "very, very soon." Reiterating earlier promises of a family of tablets, Midha claims there'll be "a whole slew" of new devices emerging from Dell's labs over the next 6 to 12 months, which will include 10-inch, 4-inch and 3-inch form factors. Android is confirmed as the OS on the 7-incher, but Windows will be making an appearance somewhere along the line as well. Plenty to look forward to, then.

No hurry to marry says S.H.E. Hebe Tien

Hebe Tien of pop trio S.H.E. opened up about her first romance during an appearance on a Taiwan television show on Tuesday, saying she regretted it a little.

Describing her former boyfriend as a good person, the singer, who recently embarked on a solo career, said she broke up with her first love because they felt too much like an old couple.

Even with one of her group mates Selina Jen getting engaged recently, Tien said she is in no hurry to marry and plans to do so in about ten years time. At the same time, the 27-year-old singer, revealed that she would have no qualms about ditching S.H.E mates Jen and Ella Chen to get hitched when the time comes.

"I believe they will take very good care of themselves," said Tien, adding that she would love to have lots of children "if my [body] can handle it".

During the show, she also let on that she is close friends with both Jen and Chen, but will choose to save Chen over Jen when faced with a dire situation.

According to Tien, Chen is caring and would reciprocate, but Selina wouldn't.

"If there is a glass of water, and both I and Selina are thirsty, she would definitely just drink it," mused Tien.

Apple’s iPhone 4 China debut, 100,000 units in four days

Vice President of China Unicom, Li Gang, told reporters that his company has completely sold through their first shipment of iPhone 4s. The shipment, which totaled 100,000 units, took just four days to sell out. The Chinese mobile operator also reported that over 200,000 customers have pre-ordered the device; the company has since stopped taking online reservations due to the demand. When the iPhone 3G and 3GS launched, it took one month for China Unicom to sell 100,000 devices. Analyst Liu Liang credited a record number of Chinese mobile users adopting smartphones, as well as positive media attention around the iPhone 4, as possible reasons for the strong sales numbers. China Unicom is expected to get their next shipment of iPhone 4s around October 1.

Nintendo 3DS drops Feb 26 in Japan for $299

Nintendo has confirmed launch dates and pricing for their 3DS gaming handheld, with the 3D-capable console dropping in Japan on February 26th 2011. Priced at 25,000 yen ($299) it will be available in blue or black, but curiously there’s no mention of the red version shown here.

In the box will be the 3DS itself, a charger stand and AC adapter, a 3DS stylus, a 2GB SD memory card and the various manuals. There’ll also be six AR cards, which are described (by the translated press release) as “paper cards you can play with the camera”; we’re guessing they’re AR glyphs as we’ve seen other augmented reality applications use.

In a recent interview with Billboard.com, Alex Da Kid — the producer/songwriter behind Eminem’s current No. 1 “Love the Way You Lie,” which features Ri-Ri — confessed that the material that makes up Rihanna’s Loud is “like a mixture of her two sides. It’s commercial, but at the same time it’s got an edge to it — it has substance.”

Google: We're too sexy for your search

In the future, run-of-the-mill search ads just won't cut it at Google.

Representatives from Google's display advertising team made a slick pitch to Madison Avenue this afternoon at the Interactive Advertising Bureau's annual MIXX conference, insisting that the short- and long-term strategy at the Mountain View, Calif., powerhouse will be to make display ads as crucial to its business as the search advertisements that propelled it to billion-dollar revenues.

Display advertising is "really front and center" to Google's current product strategy, Vice President of Product Management Neal Mohan explained to the audience, taking the stage alongside Barry Salzman, Google's managing director of media and platforms for the Americas. The two characterized the buzzwords for display ads at Google as "sexy" and "smart"--an attempt to counter the wilting perception of traditional banner ads, which Salzman said "took some of that sexy away."

BoA closes her Twitter because of SHINee fans?

BoA was recently caught up in a controversy with SHINee fans for “spoiling SHINee’s comeback” through her Twitter, causing her to eventually set her Twitter account to private on September 29th.

On the 26th, BoA tweeted, “Inkigayo has come to an end, and Chuseok has come to an end. Next week is our shining SHINee’s comeback! I won’t be lonely in the waiting rooms anymore.”

The problem lies in that SHINee fans were displeased with BoA spoiling the release of SHINee’s repackaged album and comeback date. Utada announces Yokohama Arena concerts and more

Three announcements for singer Hikaru Utada (27) were made today, including news of her first solo concerts in Japan since her nationwide tour in 2006. On December 8-9, she will perform two shows at Yokohama Arena, timed to coincide with the anniversary of her debut single "Automatic / time will tell," which was released on December 9, 1998. More information about the shows and ticket sales will be announced through a special website that is planned to launch in October.

Meanwhile, Utada has been cast in her first television commercial in 5 years, as she will be the next commercial character for Pepsi Nex. The most recent series of commercials for the beverage has featured top Japanese artists covering well-known songs by foreign artists, such as Perfume covering The Cardigans' "Lovefool." This time, Utada will appear in a new one with her jazz arrangement of Edith Piaf's famous "Hymne à l'amour." That song is also being included on her album "Utada Hikaru SINGLE COLLECTION VOL.2," which goes on sale on November 24. It is already available as a chaku-uta as of September 28, but the chaku-uta full and PC versions are scheduled for October 9.

Kenji Wu's "It's Alright" MV is not alright for TV

Looks like Kenji Wu's hot bod was not to be wasted for his first music video to his upcoming (and long awaited) album, "Love Me, Hate Me". Kenji specially invited model Niki (also known as the Tia Li look-alike) to film his “It’s Alright” MV.

Under the MV director's command, Kenji and Niki stripped off their clothes and hugged each other naked in order to express the complicated emotion of wanting each other while they've already broken up; Kenji was so into his character that he even ripped his top off fiercely – which was actually clothing for his promotions. The two were then splashed with water while they continued to embrace. Kenji laughed, “(It) feels very perverted.”

The GIO (Government Information Office) felt that the original cut for the MV was too hot for TV, so it has been edited for the TV broadcast. Kenji expressed, “It’s too bad that they can’t broadcast the original version of the MV. Everyone will just have to come see it on my Facebook then.”

Leopard-print and lace! Is this Kim Kardashian's raciest photoshoot yet?

Her killer curves and sexy style have made her an international star.

But it looks like Kim Kardashian's photoshoot with Terry Richardson may be her raunchiest ever.

The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star released some of the pictures on her official blog.

Two of the pictures are studio shots, and the other two are of her and Richardson.

In one of the photos, Kim poses in a skin tight leopard-print dress that emphasizes every curve of her voluptuous figure.

In the second, the 29-year-old is draped across a blue chair, wearing a very low-cut lace dress that she pulls up around her thighs.

Report: Lindsay Lohan Has Entered Rehab Again

Four days after a judge briefly detained her for failing court-mandated drug tests, Lindsay Lohan has entered a live-in rehab facility in Southern California to seek help for substance abuse, TMZ is reporting.

No other information is given in the report, other than that the 'Mean Girls' actress will likely stay at the facility until her next court date on Oct. 22.

The actress dominated headlines going into last weekend when she was denied bail by Judge Elden Fox, taken into custody, then granted bail by the day's end after a different LA County judge overturned Judge Fox's ruling.

Lohan, 24, was behind bars during those hours due to an admitted relapse: She recently failed two crucial drug tests, for cocaine and illegal Adderall use. According to the terms of Lohan's probation, a failed drug test means she will spend another 30 days in jail.

It's official: Fox cancels 'Lone Star'

And the first official cancellation of the 2010-11 TV season is… a real bummer. Fox has pulled the plug on its critically adored con man drama Lone Star after two low-rated episodes.

Lie to Me—which wasn’t expected to kick off its third season until later this fall—takes over the show’s Monday-9 pm time slot beginning next week.

Lone Star got off to a disastrous start last week, averaging just over 4 million viewers. The depressing numbers prompted series creator Kyle Killen to pen an open letter to fans urging them to tune in for episode 2. “For [Lone Star] to survive we’re going to have to pull off a minor miracle,” he wrote. “Statistically, new shows tend to lose viewers in their second week. We’re aiming to gain them. In fact, screw it, let’s just double our audience.”

Unfortunately, viewership for last night’s episode sank to 3.2 million viewers, sealing the show’s fate

Production on Lone Star will cease immediately, confirms a 20th Century Fox spokesperson. “We will have shot five completed episodes after the pilot,” says the rep, “and will not complete principal photography on episode 106.” It’s not clear what will happen to the four unaired episodes.

T-Mobile G2 preview

Well, well, well... would you look at what we found lounging around Best Buy's NYC holiday event! Yes, indeed, it's the T-Mobile G2 (the US version of the HTC Desire Z if you happen to think it looks familiar). After months of leaks and blurry shots we finally got to check out T-Mobile and HTC's G1 replacement, and it's got everything we've been waiting for -- a 3.7-inch display, Android 2.2, 4GB of internal memory, an 800MHz Snapdragon processor and a 5 megapixel cam with a flash. Oh, what's it like to use? That answer, dear friends, is after the break along with a hands-on video.

HP Slate Poses for Leaked Photos

The HP Slate may not be all the rage anymore, but that’s not stopping HP from releasing it. Last we heard, pertaining to which markets HP would be aiming for, the Slate tablet device would be aimed primarily for the enterprise consumer, and not necessarily targeted towards the masses. After we got a glimpse of the device on video (which was subsequently pulled soon after), the upcoming HP Slate stands at the ready for some spy shots, which have made their way onto the Internet (as usual).

The device is looking the same as it usually does. There’s still the diamond-pattern on the back with the embedded camera, and it’s still running the full version of Microsoft’s Windows 7 underneath an 8.9-inch display featuring a resolution of 1024×600. As far as the leak goes, there wasn’t much information provided. Though, the tipster does say that HP is getting ready to launch the Slate soon, and it could see public release some time by the end of October. Will it be enough to garner some attention? We’ll have to wait and see.

Vic Chou will be "returning home" with Janine Chang in new drama

The big news yesterday at the 2010 Taipei Television Festival was most definitely GTV’s adaptation of “Hayate the Combat Butler”. But not to be outdone, local idols led by Vic Chou also proved to be very popular with participants from the TV industry. His upcoming wartime drama “回家 (Returning Home)” quickly caught the media's attention with the announcement of Janine Chang (張鈞甯) as his costar.

The two will reunite for a third time after last year’s hit “Black and White” and the movie “Tea Fight (鬪茶)”. Although Vic Chou has long been attached to the project, Janine Chang came as a surprise since there hasn’t been any news of her involvement previously. Due to its sensitive subject matter, the big-budget production is still pending approval from the mainland. (Read more about Vic Chou’s role in “Returning Home” here.)

There was another piece of interesting news concerning Vic Chou at the festival – His name was mentioned for “The Taipei Shop of Coffee Prince” (yes, it’s a remake) which Jerry Yan was said to have dropped out earlier. Unfortunately this could be purely a case of who the producers want rather than who they are able to cast.

There were other (failed) casting news at the festival -- Producer Shen Shi Hua (沈時華) had hoped to cast Van Ness Wu and Vivian Hsu in the drama “瑰寶 (The Artifacts)”, but was turned down for obvious reasons. Two other dramas listed rumored ex-couple Tammy Chen and Li Wei as the leads. Chen’s manager responded on the pairing, “Not possible.”

Josh Holloway confirmed for 'Mission: Impossible 4'

Josh Holloway is trading his years on an island for another impossible mission, this time with Tom Cruise. The Lost star has jumped from one J.J. Abrams world to another, signing on to join the Mission: Impossible team that’s reassembling under director Brad Bird (The Incredibles) and producer Abrams.

The film marks Holloway’s first post-Lost role. He will join Cruise, Jeremy Renner (The Town), and Paula Patton (Precious), in addition to series regulars Simon Pegg and Ving Rhames. The Hollywood Reporter first broke the news this afternoon.

Details on the fourth iteration of this franchise are being kept under wraps, but production is expected to begin by the end of the year. The film is slated to bow Dec. 2011.

Office For Mac 2011 Reviewed And It's Actually Good

Office for Mac has long been the ugly stepsister that Redmond (and Mac users) pretended didn't exist. Is the latest Office the same deal? No, says Macworld. They say Office for Mac 2011 is actually good.

Mozilla: No Firefox browser for the iPhone

Despite the hopes of many, Mozilla made it official today that it will not develop a standalone Firefox browser for the iPhone.

Instead, the browser-maker will continue to pour resources into Firefox Home for iPhone, its browser companion app. Mozilla said in a blog post:

"People have asked about adding more browserlike features to Firefox Home, but there are technical and logistical restrictions that make it difficult, if not impossible, to build the full Firefox browser for the iPhone. We are focused on building Firefox Home as a rich, cloud-based application and making it a valuable product that people will continue to love and use."

In fact, Mozilla's announcement that it will expand Firefox Home to BlackBerry and Symbian could be an indication that the company is moving away from mobile browsers entirely. As with the iPhone app, Firefox Home for these mobile platforms would tie into the Firefox Sync service to deliver the browsing history, open browser tabs, and notes that you generated on your desktop computer to your mobile phone. While there's no hard timeline yet, Mozilla anticipated that these apps will arrive in "the coming months," the company mentioned in a blog post.

Mozilla also says it will investigate creating a version of Firefox Home for iPad, based on users' requests.

Gwyneth Paltrow's Go-To Songwriter: Husband Chris Martin

Yes, she sings – and she's got her own songwriter at home.

In the movie Country Strong (due in January), Gwyneth Paltrow plays a washed-up country singer opposite Tim McGraw as her husband-manager. For the costars' duet, "Me and Tennessee," they turned to none other than Paltrow's husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin.

" 'Me and Tennessee' is a special song that perfectly fits the movie," says Paltrow, who first sang on screen in the 2000 Duets and is reportedly going to sing on Glee this season.

"It's about a couple who are maybe irreparably damaged," says Paltrow. "But then the chorus is, 'Then that old song comes on, together we're singing, forever we're singing, that old country song.' So it's about country music bringing people back together when they're having a difficult time in life."

In addition to "Me and Tennessee," Paltrow has three songs on the Country Strong soundtrack, which will be released Oct. 26. (The title track, featuring background vocals by Vince Gill and Patty Griffin, is already receiving radio play.)

Gossip Girl's Leighton Meester, who plays an up-and-coming singer in the movie, also contributes a song, as do country stars Faith Hill, Sara Evans, Trace Adkins, Ronnie Dunn, Patty Loveless, Hank Williams, Jr., and Lee Ann Womack.

Seth Rogen Engaged To Marry Lauren Miller

Pop open a bottle of bubbly for formerly-portly actor Seth Rogen.

The Green Hornet star is buzzing over his engagement to his longtime girlfriend Lauren Miller.

After six years of dating, Rogen reportedly “put a ring on it” and popped the question to Lauren after the couple, both 28, returned to Los Angeles after visiting family in Boston last week.

“He surprised her with the proposal,” a friend of Seth’s tells Life & Style. “She’d started giving up hope that he would ever pop the question.”

RIM: QNX will eventually replace BlackBerry OS

RIM apparently have big plans for the QNX mobile operating system that will be powering the recently-announced Playbook tablet which the Canadian company plans to release next year.

A RIM VP has confirmed that the new OS will power BlackBerry smartphones in the future as well as tablets. RIM seem to have fallen in love with the QNX stability, low power consumption and rich multimedia capabilities.

The plan to switch to QNX doesn’t involve an aggressive move akin to that which Microsoft pulled for its mobile OS strategy – rather, RIM will transition from BlackBerry OS to QNX slowly, over time. And just to prove that this will indeed take a lot of time, the same VP also said that BlackBerry OS 7 will be a stepping stone to a full switch.

Miley Cyrus sports tiny hotpants and see-through top on hottest Los Angeles day ever recorded

She's a teenager who likes experimenting with fashion - and Miley Cyrus came up with a rather racy way to beat the heat on the hottest day ever recorded in Los Angeles.

The 17-year-old Disney star was spotted yesterday in her hometown wearing very short cut-off denims, plus a white crochet top which showed off her black bra underneath.

Mind you, it doesn't take temperatures of 113F, or 45C, to get Miley to strip down to the bare essentials.

The singer often causes controversy with her racy stage routines and skimpy outfits and even while just nipping to the shops, it seems she prefers to wear next to nothing.

Yesterday's ensemble was merely the latest in a long line of eye-popping outfits to be sported by the star.

Mackenzie Foy: Cast as Renesmee in Breaking Dawn

It’s a big day for Twihards. First Maggie Grace signs on to play Irina. Now EW.com has learned that little 9-year old Mackenzie Foy is inches away from signing on to play Renesmee, Edward and Bella’s vampire/human love child that’s a central role in the final installment of The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn.

It’s not yet clear how the diminutive actress, who’s appeared in one episode each of television shows FlashForward and ‘Til Death, will portray the character who ages a full 17 years in only seven. Sources have suggested that director Bill Condon will employ similar digital effects to those used by David Fincher in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, where Foy’s face would be digitally transferred onto the face of a younger child. It’s also probable that the studio will hire a younger child in some capacity, too.

Summit Entertainment is remaining mum on the issue. But to see Foy’s angelic face, which could very well be the offspring of Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, check out her website.

Slimmer iPad on tap for second-quarter 2011?

Apple could release a more svelte iPad by the end of the second quarter of 2011, Goldman Sachs said in an investment report yesterday.

According to the analysts, Apple will keep the 9.7-inch display in the new iPad, but will attempt to make it easier on the grip by reducing its weight and thickness. The analysts also expect Apple to throw in a built-in camera and a mini USB drive for additional connectivity.

Goldman Sachs also touched on the possibility of Apple finally releasing the long-rumored 7-inch iPad, saying that plans for the smaller tablet have yet to be "finalized."

As expected, Apple isn't talking. The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether it's planning a new iPad next year.

But if it does release an iPad in the coming months, it will find a new competitor on store shelves. Yesterday, BlackBerry maker Research In Motion announced the PlayBook, a 7-inch tablet. The device includes Wi-Fi connectivity, a 1GHz dual-core chip, and two cameras. It's scheduled to launch early next year.

Lindsay Lohan Wanted for 'Sexy' CIA Agent Role

Lindsay Lohan’s professional life seems to be in serious trouble as a result of her tumultuous personal life, with some experts predicting it may take as long as ten years for her career to recover.

But Pop Tarts has learned exclusively that a new film production company is still considering hiring the troubled actress to star in an upcoming movie “Escaping the Game.”

Lohan apparently “expressed great interest” in the role months ago, but plans to move forward fell to the wayside when she was sent to jail in June for violating the terms of her 2007 DUI probation.

“From the title alone you can only imagine that this film is right up her alley,” the project’s writer/producer Nathan Folks told Pop Tarts exclusively. "We believe that Lindsay is perfect for the role, and because of her experience as a tormented starlet, she is ideal to play the role in this very high concept story. She has what it takes to pull it off.”

Will we see BlackBerry-styled Windows Phone 7 devices? Probably yes

When you say Windows Phone 7, you’re likely thinking about devices with large, WVGA touchscreens. You know, like the Samsung Cetus, Samsung i8700, HTC Mondrian, HTC Trophy, LG Optimus 7 and so on.

However, this isn’t the only form factor that Microsoft has in mind for its new OS.

The Redmond giant also plans to introduce “BlackBerry style handsets” based on WP7. That’s what Silicon is reporting in an interview with Microsoft evangelist Paul Foster.

At launch – it’s said – most of the Windows Phone 7 devices will have WVGA displays. “Later”, handsets with smaller resolution displays (480 x 320) and QWERTY keypads on the front should also be available. These would, of course, compete with all the BlackBerry Bolds and Curves of the world, as well as with some of Nokia’s smartphones.
