Apple’s iOS might be in the most dominant position when it comes to mobile web traffic in North America, but according to Quantcast, it’s Google’s Android that has been fairing best as of late. From May 2009 to May 2010, iOS traffic fell 8.1% while Android saw a 12.2% increase. Impressive for sure, but that isn’t even the best example of the explosive growth Android is currently benefiting from. During the seventeen months between January 2009 and May 2010, iOS dropped 16% at the expense of Android which climbed 15% with the two now standing at 59% and 20% respectively. The accuracy of these figures are a little bit questionable as the data does not appear to readily reflect data consumed by applications. On the other hand, this data was collected well after the launch of both the iPad and iPad 3G but before the EVO 4G even hit the market. Regardless, we think it’s easy enough to draw an accurate conclusion about what’s going on here: Android is starting to take generous bites out Apple.

One pin after another. Microsoft just announced not only the Kinect, but the new, $300 Xbox 360 Slim, and now we’ve got word that GameStop’s already got the Kinect up for pre-order. And yes, the price is right there, plain as day, for everyone to see: $149.99.
That’s just for the Microsoft Kinect. If you’re looking for something a bit more bundled, like with an Xbox 360 Elite, or an Arcade Edition, then you’ll need to cough up a bit more cash: $399.99 for the Elite bundle, and $299 for the Arcade variation. Looks like Microsoft, and everyone else who could make some money off the new release, is all set for some major pre-ordering celebration. What do you think of the prices? Is $150 for just the peripheral a good price point, or has Microsoft aimed a bit too high?

The popular rumor going around right now at the eleventh hour is that AT&T will only be offering the black iPhone 4 models for pre-order tomorrow and at launch, with their white counterparts coming "later this Summer." Considering the fact that the white version of the 4 is quite a bit more distinctive than the 3G / 3GS, that's a bummer if true -- but what we don't know is whether this is strictly limited to AT&T. It's entirely possible that Apple and third-party retailers will be offering the white models, and AT&T's own distribution channel might just be suffering from some sort of buffoonery (that's our hope, anyhow). Lending credence to the rumor is the fact that Japan's SoftBank has already officially announced that it'll only be offering the black models initially -- and when we pressed AT&T on the matter, we got "no comment" in return. It's not looking good, folks.

It looks like After School’s UEE is the next target of netizens, as pictures of her promoting Bang! were recently uploaded to an After School-based online community.
Netizens have been quite harsh with her, exclaiming that they were shocked with her failed weight control and how Uee does nothing to stop the weight gain. Though cruel, netizens also defended the singer-turned-actress by saying the photos could have simply been edited by an anti-fan.

It's now less than twenty-four hours until pre-orders for the iPhone 4 kick off, magic is in the air, and you're feeling good -- but where (and how) do you get your name in the system? There'd be nothing more tragic than waking up on the 24th only to discover that your phone isn't arriving on launch day, so let's get things squared away right now so you know what you need to do tomorrow morning.
Follow the break for everything you need to know!
We hesitate to call these legit press shots -- as we've said before, Sony Ericsson fans are world-renowned for their capacity for high-quality fakery -- but German site mobiFlip.de has posted a bunch of renders of the so-called Shakira that look very possibly real to us. They're also saying that the phone will be dubbed the Xperia X8 at retail, a name that probably makes sense considering that the 3-inch Android phone is clearly designed to slot in below the high-end X10. Beyond that, we still don't have much to go on -- pricing, availability, target markets, and so on -- so we'll just hang out here on the edge of our seats for a while longer, or until we're distracted once again by the X10 mini pro's mind-numbing cuteness.

Sexy soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo is causing quite a commotion with his newest ads for Emporio Armani. Just in time for World Cup madness — and tomorrow’s matchup between Portugal and the Ivory Coast — images of Portugal’s scorching hot team captain for Emporio Armani Underwear and Armani Jeans’ fall/winter 2010-2011 campaign have been unveiled. Shot on location in Madrid, where the 24-year-old sex symbol also serves as a forward for Real Madrid, the sultry shots will make their global debut in July, appearing on billboards in major cities including New York, Los Angeles and London as well as online. Lucky ladies in Milan will be treated to an ad image from Armani Jeans featuring Cristiano this week on June 17th on a billboard on the Via Broletto. Come September, a short film and online commercial featuring Cristiano will also be released. Until then, we’ll let these hot images speak for themselves!

The Moment just got a whole lot less interesting, didn't it? What you're looking at is allegedly Samsung's Galaxy S Pro for Sprint, a potential blockbuster of a phone that's said to have WiMAX support and a front-facing cam -- basically, the QWERTY answer to the EVO 4G (and this one's presumably got a Super AMOLED display, to boot). It doesn't look exactly like a standard Galaxy S with a keyboard grafted on, so we're not sure how confident we are that the "Galaxy S Pro" name is going to stick by the time it hits retail -- but you could call it "ball of dung" and we suspect it'd still sell like hotcakes. Stay tuned for more on this one as we get it.
The unreleased, unannounced DROID 2 and DROID X have been under assault lately! This weekend DROIDLife got their hands on several scripts for unreleased commercials for the two handsets, and, luckily, they provide a little extra detail on what we are in store for. Let’s start with the DROID 2. Dialogue from the D2’s script goes something like this:
‘Does’ used to do a lot. Now it does even more. Now it does Email Exchange, so you can be hooked up to everything thing you need to do. Now it does 1.0GHz speed on a sleeker, more intuitive keyboard. It does and does and does. And the only thing it doesn’t do is ask for time off.

Uh oh: on top of reports that the EVO 4G suffers screen-detachment issues, we're also starting to hear that the touchscreen sensor is inconsistent, particularly when the phone isn't grounded. We've seen more than one report and video purporting to show the EVO's touchscreen failing to smoothly register touches when the phone isn't being handheld (and thus grounded). We haven't been able to reproduce the issues ourselves, but trust us when we say we've heard from enough unhappy EVO owners to believe that the problem is real. What's more, there's also a new video showing the same problem on three different Droid Incredibles, which obviously shares strong family ties to the EVO. We've pinged HTC, we'll let you know what we hear -- for now, get your sad faces on and watch the videos after the break.

Nokia N8

Strap yourselves in, pilgrims. Nokia's next great handset has resurfaced in London today, and this time we were even allowed to turn it on. There's pretty much no way you could be unaware of the N8 by now -- Nokia's done the viral video thing, the teaser demo thing, the feature walkthrough thing, we've covered it to near-exhaustion. But we've never seen it, you know, doing stuff. You can now consider that omission corrected, as we've finally powered up the 3.5-inch OLED screen, entered the overhauled Symbian^3 wonderland, and come back to tell the tale. In-depth impressions and video after the break.
Well, now we know why Nokia didn't let us see this thing working back when we first encountered it a month ago. The software is still extremely fragile and apps seemed to believe crashing randomly was part of their runtime. Maybe it's just a very aggressive power management feature?

Well this is interesting. A poster over at Tihn te (you know, the Vietnamese site that leaked images of the iPhone 4, newest MacBook and the iPod touch with camera) is claiming to have some of the specs for that the Samsung tablet we saw two weeks ago. According to them, the “Tape” as it’s now being called, will we be powered by a 1.2GHz A8 processor while a 7″ Super AMOLED display will be the gateway through which users interact with Android 2.2. 16GB of internal memory expandable up to 48GB via microSD and a 4,000 mAh battery are also said to be on-board, as is some sort of eBook reader. The mention of a Super AMOLED display goes against what was said on Samsung’s South African Twitter account, but it’s not as if what is said on Twitter should ever be taken as gospel.

Backstage at the Fern Gully acid trip spectacle that was Microsoft Kinect's (nee Project Natal) coming out party, we got to see Kinect up close. It's elongated black and shiny plastic, like a PS3 accessory. Take a look.
I played the new racing game. It was fun, though I oversteered a lot, because the controls seemed to be a weird mix of tight (use little gestures) and loose.
