Now Miley Cyrus simulates lesbian kiss in front of family audience on Britain's Got Talent

Her sexy outfits and newfound rebellious streak has often seen Miley Cyrus being compared to fellow ex-Disney star Britney Spears.

Appearing on Britain's Got Talent last night, the 17-year-old appeared to be emulating Britney Spears and Madonna's famous kiss when she pretended to lock lips with a female dancer.

Unlike Spears and Madonna's on-stage antics at the 2003 MTV Awards, Cyrus stopped short of actually kissing the scantily-clad dancer and they just thrust her lips towards each other.

Adam Lambert is Seeking SYPB

If Adam Lambert were to place an online personal ad, he clearly would not be seeking a SWF with whom he could go on long beach walks.

Instead, in an interview with Frontiers magazine, the singer makes it clear that he's interested in a SYPB. What does that stand for? By the end of this article, you should be able to figure it out...

On the pressure of being an openly gay musician: The thing I keep telling myself whenever the pressure starts looming is that I’ve been doing what I’ve always done, just on a larger scale now, so it’s not so bad! The opportunities that have come from American Idol are amazing.

Windows Phone 7 to ship with more than 20 games

When we first reported on Windows Phone 7, it was unknown what the gaming experience would be like. Since that time we’ve seen demos of some Windows Phone games in action. Now we’re hearing that Microsoft has commissioned the development of more than twenty games for the platform.

InformationWeek is reporting that Microsoft has hired Touch Dimensions to build at least twenty casual entertainment games. According to the developers, the games will range form a Whack-a-Mole clone to a digital sketch pad, and will feature extensive use of the touch screen.

I think this is a great move by Microsoft, though I would have preferred the company selecting a bunch of independent developers and not just one studio. Regardless, to launch a platform with touch-friendly, cool and fun games is a great move. Will it be enough to make Windows Phone 7 a contender in the mobile gaming space? I’m still not sure on that one, especially since outside of the game the interface is like a Zune HD, which contrary to what Microsoft thinks, most people have never seen nor used.

Survey: Up To Half Of All Media Sites Plan To Support The iPad And HTML5 Video

As everyone on the Web knows by now, Steve Jobs does not think too highly of Flash and therefore you cannot watch Flash videos on the the iPad (or the iPhone). Apple’s position has stirred a lot of debate about how much video on the Web is iPad-friendly. It turns out that about two thirds of new videos are currently being encoded in the H.264 format, which is playable on the iPad, but media sites still need to either package that video in an app or in an HTML5 video player viewable in the iPad’s browser.

Streaming Media decided to shed more light on the issue by surveying 1,147 online media professionals about their iPad and HTML5 video plans in a report available here. According to the survey, 49 percent plan to support HTML5 video on their media sites by the end of next year, and 36 percent plan to support video on the iPad either through dedicated apps or an iPad compatible Website.

Everything Wrong With The Steve Ballmer Era On Display At D8

Today at the All Things D conference we saw a snapshot of what's wrong with Microsoft under Steve Ballmer's tenure.

Walt Mossberg asked Steve Ballmer and Ray Ozzie, Microsoft's chief software architect, what they thought of Google, Android, and Chrome.

Ballmer yammered away about how Google's strategy of having two operating systems doesn't make any sense. Why have Android and Chrome? Why do two operating systems like that? Makes no sense, he says,

After Ballmer is done, Ray Ozzie says, Chrome is a bet on the future, Android is a bet on the past.

We can't think of a better illustration of the Ballmer-era.

A competitor announces something innovative. Ballmer goes out in public, plays dumb, trashes it, acts like he doesn't think it makes any sense, even though it does.

Wonder Girls YooBin to SunMi, “Let’s be together forever”

WonderGirls send a video message to member SunMi who left the group recently to further her studies.

The girls were featured for an interview on SBS ‘One Night TV Entertainment’ on 3rd June where they said in a video message to SunMi, “Let’s be together forever.”

YooBin said, “We got to see SunMi since she is in Korea as well, and we gave each other encouragement. SunMi also shows support for our stage. No matter where, be it in Korea or the States, let’s continue to keep in touch and depend on each other as unnies and dongsaengs. Let’s be together forever.”

Plastic Surgery: Huang Xiao Ming and Raymond Lam’s Chin Jobs

Huang Xiao Ming possesses a famous, distinctive cleft in his chin. Recently, tabloids published photos of Xiao Ming before his meteoric rise to fame and the before and after changes in the photos were quite apparent.

Allegedly, Xiao Ming may have received plastic surgery on his chin. Some people point to the scar on his chin as proof. But Xiao Ming claimed that the scar was due to an injury when he was younger.

You can't tether an iPhone to the iPad

This isn't so much news as it is a public service announcement: even in markets where iPhone tethering has launched, you've never been able to use it to connect to an iPad, and you won't be able to when AT&T flips the switch on tethering with the release of OS 4. That's clearly not AT&T's fault, it's Apple's -- the iPhone inexplicably supports only USB and Bluetooth for sharing its internet connection, even though jailbroken apps like MyWi prove that a WiFi connection is totally doable and countless other handsets already support WiFi routing. And iPad doesn't support using another device as a Bluetooth modem, either. And as long as you're paying the tethering fee, there's no reason why AT&T wouldn't want you tethering the iPad; you'll certainly be able to do it with any phone in AT&T's lineup that can create a WiFi hotspot, after all, and we're sure they'd be happy to take your overage cash once you hit 2GB regardless of the device you're using to gobble the data.

In the meantime, you know what you can tether to an iPad? A phone running Froyo, for one -- Google was certainly happy to show off that capability back at IO. Or pretty much any device running S60 from the last several years. Or a Palm Pre Plus... yeah, you get the idea.

Dell Streak 16GB in stock on O2 UK website

Mesmerized by that 5-inch display? Looking to get in on the action for yourself? If you're in the UK, take note: the Dell Streak is listed as "in stock," with prices starting at free on contract.

Box office preview: Why 'Shrek' will topple all four new releases

The hand-wringing has begun. After both Sex and the City 2 and Prince of Persia garnered less-than-optimal results last weekend, chatter about why the summer box office is not performing up to par went into full effect. In the end, Sex and the City 2 — with $57 million in its coffers — should end its run in the green, but I’m sure talks of making a third are not happening. And though people expected more from Prince of Persia, which Disney must have spent a mint marketing, it’s a movie based on a video game starring a guy best known for his indie work. The lesson learned here: Jake Gyllenhaal is not a movie star.

This weekend is not going to improve things much. Yes, there are four new releases hitting theaters tomorrow, but it’s unlikely any of them will cross the $20 million mark. In fact, Get Him to the Greek, Marmaduke, and Killers will all be vying for second place in the $15-$18 million range.

What makes this summer feel so tragic is that, thus far, there is no movie that audiences have fallen in love with. Yes, Iron Man 2 is close to banking $300 million, but few would argue that it’s better than the original. And Shrek Forever After is a hit, but there is no groundswell of love surrounding the last installment of this billion-dollar franchise. June has more to offer between The Karate Kid, Toy Story 3, and, of course, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse. We’re just going to have to wait out this week before we get to some meaty films that we can get excited about. Read on for my predictions.

'Harry Potter And The Deathly Hallows' Sneak Peek To Debut At MTV Movie Awards

Exclusive, never-before-seen clip will premiere at this Sunday's awards show.

The MTV Movie Awards have a long-established history of bringing you sneak peeks of highly anticipated upcoming flicks, and this Sunday's show is no exception. The star-packed show hosted by comedian Aziz Ansari will feature an exclusive, never-before-seen clip from "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1," the first half of the epic two-part finale in the "Potter" film series, which will hit theaters November 19.

Also at the show, which will air live on Sunday at 9 p.m. ET/PT from the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California, will be Snoop Dogg, who will drop his verse on Katy Perry's first live performance of her summer anthem "California Gurls."

And that's not all. Joining the roster of presenters handing out the Golden Popcorn awards are Scarlett Johansson, Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Betty White, T.I., Jessica Alba, Michael Cera, Eva Mendes and Kieran Culkin.

iPad used to assist surgery in Flash-free Japanese OR

At least one surgeon in Japan is using an iPad in the operating theater (a term we learned from M*A*S*H). It's unclear to us whether it's attached to an endoscope, he's looking at reference photos, or even if the device is serving any use at all other than attracting TV coverage, but it sure looks like the real thing -- he's pinching to zoom through latex gloves and everything! The next obvious question is, of course: is there an app for that operation? Video after the break.

Microsoft to fix 34 holes in Windows, Office, IE

Microsoft will on Tuesday issue 10 bulletins fixing 34 vulnerabilities affecting Windows, Office, and Internet Explorer.

Six of the bulletins affect Windows, with two of those rated critical by Microsoft. Two bulletins target Office, one targets both Windows and Office, and one critical bulletin affects Internet Explorer, according to a Microsoft Security Response Center blog post on Thursday.

Microsoft also said that with the June bulletins it will be closing Security Advisory 983438, which involves a vulnerability in SharePoint Services 3.0 and SharePoint Server 2007 that was disclosed in late April and which could lead to a cross-site scripting attack via the browser. Proof-of-concept exploit code has been published for that.

Emily Deschanel Answers What Fans Really Want to Know About David Boreanaz

To make out with David Boreanaz or not to make out with David Boreanaz.

Hmmm...That is the question for the lovely Emily Deschanel, who--newsflash--doesn't just star on Fox's Bones but is also a producer (not just a pretty face!) and therefore has her say in what happens with her character, Bones, and David's character, Booth, in the coming season.

I just chatted up Emily, and asked the question you fans have been shouting from the rooftops...

"Are Booth and Bones ever going to flipping get together?!"

Jacky Cheung's Crystal CD cover were ruined in a car accident

There was a serious car accident in the mainland last Saturday. Luckily, no one was injured. The van which was involved in the accident was the one which carried Jacky Cheung's "Private Corner" Crystal CD cover. All the covers were ruined in the accident. Fortunately, as there were no CD inside the cover, the loss was minimum.

The record company was glad that the driver was not hurt, but the delivery of the CD that the fans have ordered have to be postponed. Jacky said as long as the driver is OK, it doesn't matter that the covers were ruined. He is hoping his fans will be patient and wait for the CD. It will take the company another three weeks to make the crystal CD cover. The fans can collect their order in three weeks time. The estimated loss of the accident is a 5 figure sum.

HP says it's in the smartphone market, after all

HP CEO Mark Hurd certainly caused a few sad faces yesterday when he told investors and analysts that HP "didn't buy Palm to be in the smartphone business," and now the company is trying to walk that back a little -- rest easy, folks, because there are definintely more webOS smartphones on the way. Apparently what Hurd was really trying to say was that HP is excited about using webOS as the foundation for all types of smaller web-connected devices, and smartphones are just a part of that universe -- a part HP intends to pursue. Phew. Now, can we see these new webOS devices, please? Here's the full statement from HP:

When we look at the market, we see an array of interconnected devices, including tablets, printers, and of course, smartphones. We believe webOS can become the backbone for many of HP's small form factor devices, and we expect to expand webOS's footprint beyond just the smartphone market, all while leveraging our financial strength, scale, and global reach to grow in smartphones.

AT&T apologizes to customer warned off emailing the CEO: 'This is not the way we want to treat customers'

AT&T's Executive Response Team certainly caused a little controversy yesterday after it warned reader Giorgio Galante that sending another email to AT&T CEO Randall Stephenson would result in a cease and desist letter, but apparently it was all just a mistake -- Giorgio tells us that he's received a sincere apology from an AT&T senior VP, who took responsibility for the mixup. Apparently the cease and desist warning came about due to bad reading of AT&T internal policy -- Giorgio was told the rep who made the call is "not having the best of days today" -- and AT&T tells us it's reviewing its procedures to make sure it doesn't happen again.

As for Giorgio, he says AT&T's rep sincerely listened to his concerns about the new data plan pricing schemes and that he's accepted the company's apology, but ultimately he's decided to switch over to Sprint and the EVO 4G anyway. That's to be expected, we suppose -- and we'd say next time Randall might do well to use up a few bytes of his 2GB limit and write back to a dissatisfied customer. Here's AT&T's official statement on the matter:

Foxconn Employee: "Life Is Meaningless"

This is how Foxconn employees feel, according to a 21-year-old whom Bloomberg called Ah Wei because he preferred to remain anonymous. Ah Wei copes with these conditions for a monthly salary of 900 yuan ($132).

[Bloomberg—Thanks, Alex!]

Shocked parents brand Lady Gaga's bloody stage show as 'sickening' in wake of Cumbria slaughter

She's not exactly known for her squeaky-clean image and has been no stranger to controversy during her rise to fame.

But has Lady Gaga possibly taken things too far this time?

The singer was slammed by horrified fans after she she pretended to be murdered and eaten on stage by a crazed psycho killer, just hours after the horrific shooting spree across Cumbria.

Thousands of fans and parents who had taken their children to the concert at the MEN Arena in Manchester looked on in horror as the 24-year old singer, dressed in a skimpy leather basque, was ambushed from by a gothic man dressed in black, who then appeared to bite into her neck and fake blood spurted down her chest.

K.Stew's Bad Week Not a Problem for Summit

Not a great time to be Kristen Stewart.

With her not-so-smart comment relating fame to rape and those flipping pics, the Twilight star isn't exactly having the best week ever.

But there may be light at the end of the tunnel for the babe, as behind-the-scenes chatter over at Summit is going in her favor:

As the studio gears up for round three of crazyass Twilight promotion, we're told Kristen is being the chillest of the bunch.

"She actually has been the easiest out of everyone in her demands," a source whispered to us.

Remember, "squirrelly" K.Stew was voted most likely to be difficult when it came to press time for Eclipse, and that is sorta proving to be true if her trip Down Undah is any indication, hate to say. But it isn't worrying anyone over at Summit.

Steve Ballmer Takes On Everyone (Microsoft Included)

Steve Ballmer took his turn in the hot seat today at D8, and anybody hoping for a few candid spitballs from Microsoft's quotable CEO wasn't disappointed. Ballmer had plenty to say about everyone's faults—starting with his own company's:

It's no secret that Windows Mobile 6.5—you know, the one before Microsoft gutted everything in favor of Windows Phone 7—was an out and out disaster. But it can't be easy for the CEO of one of the most powerful companies in the world to declare his product in last place. Even more so to say they missed a cycle entirely. But maybe by being so honest about Microsoft, Ballmer earned a little more cred when he went after his competitors.

Court examines Gizmodo devices for iPhone info

Authorities have finally begun examining the computers, server, and other electronic gear seized from a Gizmodo editor as part of the investigation into a missing iPhone prototype.

Stephen Wagstaffe, chief deputy district attorney for San Mateo County, told CNET on Wednesday that a court there had appointed a "special master" to search the items seized from the home of Jason Chen in late April. The court has asked the special master to collect only information that pertains to Gizmodo's dealings with an iPhone prototype that the blog purchased for $5,000.

In March, an Apple employee lost contact with the handset--a prototype of the next generation of iPhones--when visiting a bar in Redwood City, Calif. The device was obtained by Brian Hogan who then sold the phone to Gizmodo. Police launched a theft investigation and served a subpoena at Chen's home in Fremont, Calif. Attorneys representing Chen and Gawker Media, Gizmodo's parent company, claimed the search warrant used to seize Chen's property was "invalid," citing a California law curbing newsroom searches.

Rosie Huntington-Whiteley Officially Confirmed For 'Transformers 3,' Surprising No One

I guess the news really hadn't been confirmed, but it's still kind of funny to me that Rosie Huntington-Whiteley being confirmed as the replacement for Megan Fox in "Transformers 3" qualifies as news today. The last report revealed that she was a top contender and that an offer had in fact been sent out. Did anyone really think she was going to say no?

Okay, okay... I get it. It's news. She's in and it's official. Really, the whole point of this post is to show you the hilariously excellent congratulatory video that Huntington-Whiteley's employer Victoria's Secret cut to celebrate the casting news. You can find that video after the jump, but take note: there are no robots. Unless they're in disguise. Which I guess they could be-- this is "Transformers" we're talking about.

Danson Tang declares "I'm Back" featuring f(x)'s Amber

Danson Tang, actor in hit idol-dramas such as "Hana Kimi" and "Rolling Love", returns after a 17-month hiatus with his third album "D一秒" (a play on words and translates to "The First Second"). For his first single, "I'm Back", he especially invited Korean group f(x)'s Amber to perform the rap, which is pretty cool as Amber is actually Chinese and also speaks Mandarin. Amber also flew to Taiwan in early May to appear in the music video that will be released June 7.

Danson explains that his inspiration for "The First Second" came from late 2008 after the release of his second album. He had been going through some rough times in with his career and almost contemplated leaving the entertainment industry. However, he ran into a bunch of music-playing friends, who asked Danson if he had ever considered using his unique experiences in life or his emotions as inspirations for music. With this encouragement, Danson found a new passion for music as a means to express himself. Through the songs on this third album Danson wants to describe his return to the "first second" of passion he felt as an entertainer.

Kim HeeChul expresses interests for SoHee once again, “Her overwhelming cuteness”

Kim HeeChul has once again expressed interests for WonderGirls SoHee.

Kim HeeChul was on MBC FM4U ’2pm Date with Park MyungSoo’ when he was asked, “Is there anyone whom you are interested in?”. His answer was, “I don’t like it that when people are asked such a question they answer that they like everyone. I like being honest. I like female singers like 4Minute, Secret and After School – those who have the cutesy image lately. Awhile ago, WonderGirls returned to Korea and I saw SoHee. She is really someone whose cuteness is just overwhelming. Usually I’m someone who is alright with most females, but SoHee is just really cute.”

Already before this, Kim HeeChul had expressed his interests for SoHee on different variety shows like SBS Family Outing and MBC Come To Play.

Miley Cyrus to Critics: You Just Don't Get It!

As she goes around the globe, donning skimpy clothing and trying way too hard to prove she's no longer an innocent Disney drone, Miley Cyrus has come under fire for... well, donning skimpy clothing and trying way too had to prove she's no longer an innocent Disney drone.

But, in an interview with the BBC this week, Miley sent a message to critics that feel this way: suck it!

"They can think what they want,” she said. “Those are people who are just close-minded and don’t understand art."

As for the criticism she's received over the last couple years in general, Cyrus said:

Taylor Swift: Number-One Mission, Accomplished!

It's not as extreme as the makeover Lance Bass recently underwent, but Taylor Swift changes her look a bit in the latest issue of Marie Claire.

The young singer pulls up her hair and looks more serious than ever in a photo from the magazine. For someone known as much for her smile and bubbly personality as her impressive career so far, this is freaking us out a bit...

Inside the issue, Swift talks about her early success and how setting goals for herself was a helpful way of keeping her focus and priorities straight:

“I love having a goal, feeling like I’m on a mission. I love trying to beat what I’ve done so far. I knew that everything I wanted to happen could happen in Nashville. So it became my number-one goal to get there somehow.”

Sprint kicks off its national EVO 4G ad campaign

Last year, Sprint wasn’t doing itself any favors with its absolutely awful Palm Pre TV ad campaign, but this year’s hero phone — the HTC EVO 4G — has an ad that people will actually “get”. Sure, it might be a bit too DROID Does for some, and others will likely be reminded of those “we are all one” ads played frequently during the Olympics and World Cup, but for our money the ad is great. Check it out after the jump.

Say hello to the Samsung Galaxy Tab

No, you’re eyes are not deceiving you — that is indeed one giant, tablet-ized version of the Samsung Galaxy S your weary eyes are peepin’. Posted by the official Twitter page for Samsung South Africa, the tablet was referred to as the “Galaxy Tab”. Right now all we know is that the thing runs Android with TouchWiz UI, operates on 3G networks, has a front-facing camera and 3.5mm headphone jack. The presence of a “Phone” icon also suggests that the Galaxy tab will also be able to place calls, although it it not clear yet if a headset — Bluetooth or otherwise — will be required. A later tweet from Samsung South Africa also claimed that “this particular one is a 7″ model and has a high-res TFT screen.” This of course makes sense considering that such a large AMOLED display would be incredibly expensive to produce and sell and that there is currently a shortage of the such displays. Then again, there were those S-Pad rumors floating around a few months ago. Would it be wrong for us to read a lot into the “this particular one” and assume that there are more coming, perhaps ones with nicer displays?

First Look: New Captain America [Pictures]

Here’s a sneak peek at the new Captain America. At long last, Marvel has its Steve Rogers. Last month, Chris Evans — best known for his role as “The Human Torch” in Fantastic Four — to play Captain America.

Don’t forget to let us know what you think of Captain America’s new look!

Captain America: The First Avenger — directed by Joe Johnson — goes into production in London later this month. The superhero epic is expected in theaters on July 22, 2011.

Ip Man’s director to remake A Chinese Ghost Story

It’s one of the most popular Hong Kong movies of all time and certainly my absolute favorite. The 1987 classic A Chinese Ghost Story starring two of the most beautiful faces in the industry was a huge hit all over Asia. More than 20 years later, director Wilson Yip will try to strike magic again with Crystal Liu and Yu Shao-Qun (余少群), reprising the roles played by Joey Wong and the late Leslie Cheung respectively. The very-tanned Louis Koo will play Yan Chi-Xia, aka the super athletic Taoist priest who can fight spirits and sing while doing back flips.

Interestingly, the 1987 version was already the second time the ghostly tale has been made into a feature film. It was loosely based on a short story in the famous “Strange Stories from a Chinese Studio (聊齋志異)” published in the 1700s. The first film adaptation was made in 1960, and there was also a TV adaptation starring Barbie Hsu in 2003, as well as an online game in 2009.

Microsoft Windows Embedded Compact 7 tablet prototype preview

So, there may never be a Windows 7 Phone tablet, but that device above looks pretty darn close to what one may have looked like. In actuality that's just the tablet that Microsoft has been using at Computex to demo its new Windows Embedded Compact 7 supporting Silverlight for Windows Embedded, Flash 10.1, and multitouch within the browser. We caught a few minutes with the NVIDIA Tegra 2-powered, 8.9-inch slate and found ourselves drooling over the Zune / Windows Phone 7-like interface that had been built by Microsoft. But before we tell you to jump past the break to check out the short demo, we want to break the news to you that this UI was created just to show off the capabilities of the new CE platform -- there's no plan to bring it to market as is on Microsoft's end at the moment. Instead manufacturers, like ASUS and others, have to do their own engineering with the preview release and then the RTM build that will come later this year. But we certainly wouldn't object to one of those companies creating something similar to what you are about to witness in the gallery and video below.

Verizon’s HTC Droid Incredible smartphones arriving with promised time frame

By now, Verizon’s problems of keeping up with HTC Droid Incredible demand are known to everyone.

They just can not keep up with it, and keep pushing the shipping date further and further.

Btw, yesterday Incredible’s shipping date was June 23d, today it’s June 24th. Basically, a continuous 3 week delay for anyone who orders their Verizon Droid Incredible.

doubleTwist Launches A Slick Media Player For Android Devices

doubleTwist, the ‘iTunes for Android’ software that lets you sync your media files with dozens of devices, including Android phones, is one step closer to being a full-fledged solution for media sync on Android. The company has released a native Android application, available on Android Market for free, which offers users a polished media player capable of playing both audio and video.

Android is notorious for coming with a clunky default media player, and doubleTwist easily bests it, sporting a much cleaner interface, the ability to import iTunes playlists, and support for audio/video podcasts. That said, there are already plenty of third party solutions that also beat the stock Android player. So what makes doubleTwist different?

T-Mobile Nokia E73 Mode announced: June 16, $69 on contract

And once again we have proof that where there’s a good amount of smoke, there’s likely to be fire. Today Nokia announced it will be bringing the E73 Mode, a Symbian S60 device said to offer a perfect balance between work-life and, uh, life-life, to T-Mobile. Best thought of as a E72 with a facelift, the Mode features not only a 2.4″ QVGA display, full-QWERTY keypad, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and 10.2Mbps HSDPA, but also free turn-by-turn navigation from Ovi Maps. The Nokia E73 Mode will be available from T-Mobile on June 16th for $69.99 on a 2-year contract.

Microsoft updating Live app suite, declares Windows 'better than Mac for photos, hands down'

Looks like it's blowhard season up in Redmond these days, as the latest word from Microsoft on its Live Essentials suite of apps has been accompanied by the brash pronouncement that it's now markedly superior to Apple's efforts in Mac OS X -- at least when it comes to photos. This verdict was delivered by Brian Hall, General Manager for Windows Live, and is backed by a laundry list of new features we can expect by the holiday season of this year. Windows Live Photo Gallery and Movie Maker will soon be able to link up directly to sites like Flickr, Facebook and YouTube -- which will allow for painless uploads as well as pulling in any additional tagging done on Facebook. New photo stitching and retouching abilities, along with face recognition (rather than mere detection) are also being touted, but the ultimate arbiter of the new software's utility will obviously be the real hands-on experience for users. We shouldn't have to wait too long for that, as a beta version of the freely downloadable (on Vista and 7, XP holdouts are no longer being served) suite should be making the rounds in the coming weeks.

Kelly Brook set to strip for Playboy for half a million

British model Kelly Brook will receive a whopping USD 500,000 for stripping on the cover of the men's magazine Playboy.

The actress and glamour model has signed a half-a-million dollar deal to pose naked for the publication later this year, reported Daily Mail online. The 30-year-old, will pose for 'arty and tasteful' nude pictures on a shoot in the Mediterranean later this month.

"She's absolutely thrilled. It's such a great honour for her, especially when you think about the icons that have graced the cover of the magazine over the years," said her agent Jonathan Shalit.

Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth: Still Together!

MILEY Cyrus isn’t single after all!

Reports Wednesday claimed the Hannah Montana star split from Aussie beau Liam Hemsworth after a huge argument at her Los Angeles home.

Cyrus was said to be jealous of Liam’s success after he landed a top role opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins in the forthcoming Arabian Nights.

“The result was a vicious fight — and Liam bolted,” a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer.

“He said he’s tired of her folks’ interference, and that Miley’s jealous that his film career has taken off.

“Miley, her family and all her baggage are too much for him to handle.”

But a source close to Miley has spoken out to set the record straight, insisting she and Liam are “still together, they’re fine.”

Studio Rep: Jen Aniston Won't Star in Scream 4

Sorry, horror fans: Jennifer Aniston won't be butchered by a masked psycho killer in the upcoming Scream 4.

A recent tabloid report claimed that Aniston, 41, will play a woman killed off in the opening sequence of the slasher -- as a "favor" to pal Courteney Cox, who is reprising her role in the franchise, as is husband David Arquette.

A rep for the Weinstein Company, which is producing the film, tells UsMagazine.com that this casting report is "not true."

Aniston -- who usually sticks to romantic comedies -- hasn't appeared in a horror flick since 1993's cult classic Leprechaun.
