Taylor Swift Loves to Write About What Happens in Her Life

If you listen to Taylor Swift's new album 'Speak Now,' you'll certainly hear songs that remind you of the singer's life.

"My next album is something I'm really proud of. I can only write about what I've been through. And a lot has happened in the past two years," Swift tells Glamour.

"Everything that happens to me gets put into a song," she adds. "For some reason, I'm really comfortable talking about my personal life in songs. There, I don't hold back: names, dates, times, expressions on people's faces, exactly where we were and how it felt, what I wish I would have said to them in the moment."

Swift, who has has been interrupted on stage by Kanye, won several Grammys and other awards, and gone through high-profile relationships with 'Twilight' star Taylor Lautner and Joe Jonas, can't wait for reactions to her new tunes.

"I'm not only excited about sharing the songs with fans; I'm also pretty interested to hear the response from the guys I've written about on this record," she explains.

On her life: I've gone through a few different phases of gratitude. When it's happening, you're all about [what's next] and trying not to make a misstep. When it came time to lock myself away and make my next album, I had a feeling of, Wow, that really was something, wasn't it? I drive down the same streets I used to drive years ago, when I was just dreaming about stuff like this. So I feel total happiness and anticipation for the next thing.

Shameful Courtney Love posts sleazy pics online as she appears to slide back into bad girl ways

Courtney Love has always been provocative but she has taken it too far by posting pictures of herself half naked on Twitter. The shocking photos show the 46-year-old singer posing in just underwear with her hands covering her breasts. In another photo she wears tights and knickers but no skirt as she bends over near a mirror.

Formerly in the band Hole, the troubled rocker has a history of erratic behaviour and drug use. She was married to Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain with whom she has a daughter Frances Bean, but her relationship with her only child has also been problematic.

Skype app arrives in Android Market, WiFi-only in the US

Finally, at long last, after so much waiting, Skype has made its debut as a full-fledged Android app. There are no Verizon-related limitations anymore, but Android Police reports that calling through the app is only available via WiFi, you can't use your mobile's data connection -- not yet, anyway. Another note they make is that Skype is using quite a few processing cycles to do its job, so much so that it introduced crackling on a call carried out with the EVO. You'll need to have Android 2.1 installed to run this thing, but if you do, why aren't you downloading it already? Video after the break have confirmed that 3G Skype calls will be available to all outside the US. Wow. Also, Skype's acknowledged there are some incompatibilities with Samsung Galaxy S phones and is working to iron those out.

Microsoft's October 11 event could involve slate device announcements, unicorn sightings

Thought you knew all there was to know about Microsoft's October 11 event already? Maybe you do, but it's always good to pepper some good old fashioned rumors atop well established facts for that extra bit of spice. Neowin cites insider sources in reporting that Microsoft intends to use its Windows Phone 7 launch as a platform for revealing its plans for the tablet realm as well. Specifically, Steve Ballmer and crew are expected to "announce Slate devices which will be available for the crucial holiday season." We can't think of anything that would make the Redmond CEO happier, but let's not go building our hopes up too high. Just one revolution from Microsoft will be enough for us.

Rainie slams her gams

Wear a revealing top? No problem for pop princess Rainie Yang. But just don't make her wear leggings, she told The New Paper in a recent interview.

Here last weekend to promote her upcoming concert, the 26-year-old Taiwanese described her unusual fashion don'ts.

'I'm okay if I have to wear an outfit that reveals half of my breasts,' Yang said with a straight face.

Outgrowing her 'cute' image

'But I absolutely dislike showing my legs, and that includes wearing leggings. I'm uncomfortable if people can see the shape of my legs...I'm not confident of them.' She's also fine wearing cropped tops, she said, because she is proud of her well-defined abs.

Yang, who entered showbiz as part of the girl group 4 In Love in 2000, found fame on her own after she co-hosted the popular Taiwanese variety show, Guess Guess Guess, with Jacky Wu and A-Ya in 2002. But she hit the heights of fame only in 2005 when she acted in the idol drama Devil Beside You.

The drama's theme song Ambivalence, which she sang, became a huge hit in Asia. Yang released a Japanese version of the song earlier this year.

Russell Brand Katy Perry Wedding Only Weeks Away?

Are the nuptials of Russell Brand and Katy Perry upon us already!? We don’t even know where they’re registered!?

We heard that the pop tart and her long-haired British companion have sent out invitations alerting friends of their wedding ceremony, which is set for later this month in India.

Russ and Katy had been dating for a little over two months when Brand popped the question during a pilgrimage in the East Indian city of Jaipur in Nov. 2009, tipsters told In Touch Weekly over the weekend. It is thought they have a seven-day long celebration planned. Famous names who are said to have been been invited include Rihanna, Jonathan Ross, and David Walliams.

ABC Family cancels 'Huge': Are you sad to see it go?

Prepare yourselves for a, yes, huge disappointment: News broke today that ABC Family has axed Huge, the series following teens sent to a summer weight-loss camp, after just one season. The drama was a victim to declining ratings, especially when compared to the success of the network’s other summer launches, Melissa & Joey and Pretty Little Liars.

In a statement to EW, the show’s creators, mother-daughter team Winnie Holzman and Savannah Dooley, said: “First and foremost, we want to thank everyone who embraced Huge and supported it. While it’s disappointing not to be able to go forward with the characters we love so much and had so many plans for, we’re deeply grateful to have had this opportunity. Our goal was and is to create TV of depth and complexity that inspires people to think and feel. We believe we accomplished that with Huge and we can’t wait to do it again.”

How do you guys feel about the news? In a spate of recent cancellations, are you sad to see this one go?

Sharp Galapagos e-reading tablets hands-on (video)

Sharp's 5.5-inch and 10.8-inch Galapagos are something to covet. Sharp's got the Android-powered e-reading tablets heavily on display here at CEATEC, meaning of course we jumped at the chance to try it ourselves. The interface is a bit sluggish, as is pinch-to-zoom on the browser. That said, pages (like our darling Engadget) displayed in full and were crisp, as were the supplied magazine examples (Newsweek, GQ -- all in Japanese, naturally). Flash 10 is supported, although we didn't get a chance to try it. The missing trackball on the 10.8-inch model wasn't much of a concern, as it was all but redundant on the 5.5-incher. Looks promising now, but with its US launch not expected until sometime in 2011, no telling what the competition might look like by then. More pictures in the gallery below!

Fujitsu dual-touchscreen concept phone hands-on

Back at Mobile World Congress in February, the mobile UI gurus at TAT showed off their interpretation of a dual-screen phone interface using TI's powerhouse OMAP4 testbed. Seemed a little pie-in-the-sky at the time, but frankly, the concept device being shown off by Fujtisu at CEATEC this week -- created with TAT's involvement, it turns out -- seems virtually ready for production. Or the hardware did, anyway; the software was spartan by comparison, obviously designed to call out a few key use cases where having two giant, glorious 960 x 480 displays right next to each other might come in handy. We were shown browser and email list scrolling across both displays -- boring, if not obvious -- but what really piqued our interest was a cool photo sharing feature whereby you fling photos you want to share from a gallery on the bottom display to a list of contacts on the top one -- very TAT, if we do say so ourselves. Both displays can be rotated between portrait and landscape, creating either a nicely-sized clamshell or a gigantic flip, not an uncommon shape among Japanese phones. Indeed, given the form factor, the entirely-Japanese interface, and Fujitsu's history, we're sure this was designed entirely with the Japanese domestic market in mind -- and we wouldn't be at all surprised to see it show up in a retail capacity there within a year or so. Follow the break for video.

Double B 21 releases new MV for ‘SOS’

21 member group, Double B 21, just released a new MV for their track, “SOS.”

We’re still not sure how the group is going to work out, but there’s been rumors that they will be divided into sub groups. Either way, this music video does display some group shots of all 21 members, albeit very briefly.

With that said, I still can’t come to call this an actual “music video.” It just seems too cheap, and home video-like, although it’s probably pretty expensive catering to 21 members, so that could explain why. But hey, at least the song is not too shabby. Check it out for yourself!

SuJu’s Heechul is one tough Engrish gangster

Super Junior’s Heechul has been cracking up his English-speaking fans through Twitter today, as he demonstrated his formidable skills in ‘Gangster Engrish’.

Tweeting from his vacation spot in the States, Heechul wrote, “I’m trying to learn english for my petalz. Plz understand my bebe english *kekeke It’s hella hard.. *keke My head feels like it’s going to explode (머리 터지겠네) Hella Head bomb~” (For those of you who aren’t in the know, *keke roughly translates to a Korean version of ‘haha’)

Kim and Kourtney Kardashian to "Take New York" in New Reality Show

They wanna be a part of it...

Reality TV's most famous sisters -- two of them, anyway -- will star in a brand-new series set in the Big Apple next year.

Starring the two eldest Kardashian sisters, Kourtney and Kim Take New York will debut on E! in January 2011, E! Online confirmed Monday. (The sisters have starred together with their fam in five seasons of Keeping With Up With the Kardashians; Kourtney and little sis Khloe, 26, have appeared for two seasons in Kourtney and Khloe Take Miami.)

Just a few hours before that announcement, a decked-out Kim, 29, and Kourtney, 30, were snapped walking NYC's famous streets.

"Mason, Kim, Scott and I arrived in NYC," Kourtney blogged Monday. "So excited for some fall in the Big Apple. No place better."

(She and beau Scott Disick have a son, Mason, 10 months.)

She added: "Are you ready, NYC?"

Kim Tweeted shortly after landing on Sunday. "Fireworks over the Brooklyn bridge! Welcome to NYC bayba baaaybay!"

Facebook Holding Special Event This Wednesday

It’s been a big couple of months for Facebook — the site launched its Places feature in August, had a major gaming-focused event two weeks ago, and recently revamped its photos feature to allow for high-resolution uploads (which is a big deal). And it’s not done: an invite just landed in our inbox for a special event this Wednesday morning at 10 AM. Facebook isn’t giving any hints as to what this event will cover (sometimes they do — they told us in advance that the last event was focused on gaming). But the fact that they’re trying to get a bunch of reporters down to Palo Alto at 10AM would seem to indicate that this is important (please). Oh, and they’re giving us shuttle service, which probably means they’re inviting a lot of press.

Lee Hyori goes for a short cut

Singer Lee Hyori sported a short haircut for the makeup brand, CLIO.

As a model for the brand, she decided to try something new in order to make this ad a hot topic. She’s always worked with relatively long hair, but she went for short cut this time around.

It is a wig, but it definitely looks just as real as any other haircut. The lack of hair brought more attention to her face, which had on all the great makeup she’s showing off.

Fans wrote,

“You look pretty no matter what. She has a doll face.”
“Her beauty is more prominent even as years go by.”
“She has a goddess like face. Very sexy too.”

Thai government blames K-pop girl groups for rise in Dengue fever cases

On October 5th, MBC’s “News Today” reported that Thailand has been enjoying the popularity of Korean girl groups immensely, particularly by copying their fashion styles. Nicknamed the “Korean Style,” hot pants have become a staple item among Thailand’s youth.

However, with the increasing cases of Dengue fever in Thailand, the government has specifically targeted Korea’s hot pants as the reason behind the rise.

The deputy director of the Ministry of Health and Welfare stated in an interview with MBC, “The youth have been copying Korean styles and wearing shorter clothing, making them more susceptible to mosquito bites. We are suggesting that they wear longer clothing in place of shorts.”

Carrie Underwood goes fairytale as she rocks out at the Hollywood Bowl

She belted out song after song for over two hours.

But Carrie Underwood kept the crowd entertained with her multitude of costume changes and not just her singing.

The 27-year-old singer made a total of five outfit changes during her two hour sold out concert at the Hollywood Bowl last night including changing into a huge bright orange gown which made her look like a Halloween fairy.

Carrie, who was the 2005 winner of American idol, is known for her sexy on-stage attire which usually shows off her toned legs.

She began the night in a short lilac coloured strapless cocktail dress and transitioned through four more outfits all of which were either strapless or very short.

Nokia N9 Gets Early Hands-On, Hardware Deemed “Near Perfect”

Nokia’s strategy in the smartphone market is a heated subject for some out there, but it looks like the company may have a line of silver along some of those formulating storm clouds on the horizon. Thanks to Eldar Murtazin, the (in)famous Russian-based journalist who has been known to break a few Nokia-centric stories in the past, it looks like Nokia’s upcoming effort, the N9, is looking very, very good. At least, when it comes to the hardware.

Murtazin wrote just a few things about the upcoming device. The first of which focused on the hardware. He said, “In terms of HW is near perfect, I like it.” That “near perfect” thing is what sticks out the most, obviously. While Nokia’s hardware is a hit or miss for some, if the N9 can indeed hit that “sweet spot” for the majority of consumers, then it could certainly mean that the N9 has a fighting chance in the increasingly difficult smartphone market.

Cory Monteith Talks Getting Naked for PETA & Glee

When asked who should pose naked for PETA next, Lea Michele recently suggested her Glee costar Cory Monteith. So I caught up with Cory on Sunday at a benefit brunch to see if he's down to drop trou for charity.

"Wow. Naked, huh?" he said. "I don't know what I think about that. It's pretty extreme."

But the hunky actor says he's already nearly nude for an upcoming episode...

"I do not wear the gold lamé briefs," he explained, in regards to the rumor that he'll don the infamous metallic undies for the Rocky Horror themed Glee episode. "But I am equally scantily clad."

Hot! And what's in store for his and Lea's characters, Finn and Rachel, on the show?

"There is a future," he promised, when we talked at the Rape Treatment Center's benefit brunch. "I'm paraphrasing Ryan Murphy but I think he's gonna put Finn and Rachel together for the second season and he's gonna see what they look like as a couple by the end of the season. You're gonna see where the relationship goes."

Clearly Cory's not spilling too much on the couple's fate, but fellow castmate Heather Morris offered her two cents on their on-screen chemistry at the charity event.

"Their love interest is hysterical," Heather offered, "When you're 16...they act so funny around each other, because he's so tall and she's so little and then they're awkwardly like trying to date and figure it out. I think they're funny."

They so are, right?

Justin Bieber Lady Gaga In Race For 1 Billion YouTube Views

By the end of the month, teen pop sensation Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, music’s outre “It Girl” of the hour, could be the first artists to reach a billion total views on YouTube!

In April, TubeMogul.com began its “Most Viral Videos of the Month” to highlight the most-viewed videos on YouTube in a given month. According to Communications Director at TubeMogul David Birch, the “Poker Face” is expected to pass the one billion views milestone on YouTube around Oct. 20. During September, videos featuring Gaga averaged almost 1.8 million views per day, while Biebs’ vids netted roughly 3.7 million times daily.

Birch suspects Bieber — who is the world’s highest-paid entertainer — will surpass the 1 billion views milestone around Nov. 1 if he keeps up his current pace.

Biebs and Gaga already hold the distinction of starring in some of the most-watched videos ever to hit the Interwebs. Both artists have many of YouTube’s all-time most-viewed videos. Bieber’s “Baby” is YouTube’s most-watched video of all time with 345 million views. Gaga’s hot on his heels: Her award-winning “Bad Romance” promo is the No. 2 most-watched YouTube video of all-time with 288 million views.

After Lady Gaga and Bieber, the next closest artist inching toward the billion views milestone is the Late King of Pop Michael Jackson, whose videos boasts around 600 million views.

Palm Mansion will have 800×480 screen, no physical QWERTY

The rumor of the day, perhaps rather unexpectedly, concerns Palm, now part of HP. Before getting acquired by HP, Palm only managed to churn out 4 WebOS devices, which were actually two (the Pre and the Pixi) and two minor hardware upgrades for them (the Pre Plus and Pixi Plus).

And ever since the ‘Plus’ versions of those devices came out, people have been anxiously expecting the next big thing, smartphone-wise, to bear the Palm brand.

HP have repeatedly said they will focus on tablets for WebOS, but there will be some new smartphones too. And now it looks like one of those could be codenamed ‘Mansion’. That name makes some sense, since the original Pre had the codename ‘Castle’.

The Mansion will have a 800×480 screen resolution and may be the first Palm smartphone since their WebOS-based reinvention not to sport a physical QWERTY keyboard.

It will be interesting to see how HP/Palm will pull off a virtual QWERTY keyboard only and how theirs will compare to the iPhone’s and the myriad of keyboards available for Android devices. Also, the increase in resolution will surely make many people happy, as it will be on par with the latest Android smartphones in this regard.

There are no more details at this point, but if this device is real, they will surely leak at some point or the other in the coming weeks or months.

Matt Damon to be campaigned for Best Actor in 'Hereafter'

For weeks now I’ve been comparing Clint Eastwood’s upcoming drama Hereafter to 2006′s Babel, since they both include three distinct storylines that end up intersecting by the end of the film. (And because I loved both movies.) Now I’ve just received word from Warner Bros.’ awards consultant that Matt Damon will be campaigned in the lead actor category despite appearing in less than half of the film. By contrast, the entire cast of Babel was touted in the supporting categories. (Brad Pitt, Adriana Barraza, and Rinko Kikuchi earned Golden Globe nominations, while Barraza and Kikuchi repeated at the Oscars.)

This news surprises me, I have to admit. Maybe because I’m so into the Hereafter/Babel comparison, I’m feeling like the Academy strategy should be the same for both. But if you look at Hereafter‘s billboards, it’s clear the studio is selling the film as a Matt Damon vehicle, so this decision is consistent with the marketing plan. And by placing him in lead for Hereafter, Warner Bros. conveniently avoids vote-splitting with Damon’s supporting turn in the Coen brothers’ True Grit. (Did you see the trailer? It looks great.)

The bad news? He’ll have less of a shot at a nomination in lead, which is a shame, since he delivers a solid, emotional performance as a construction worker struggling to deal with his unwanted psychic abilities. But teaming with Eastwood in last year’s Invictus scored him a nod (albeit for supporting actor), so they’re clearly a formidable pair.

Hangeng reveals that he wants to fulfill Lee Teuk’s dream

Two weeks ago, the members of Super Junior made an appearance on MBC’s Chuseok special, “Radio Star Super Show.” On the show, the guys talked about the issues surrounding members Kangin and Hangeng / Hankyung.

Regarding Hankyung and his decision to terminate his contract with SM Entertainment, the members stated, “We still can’t get in contact with Hankyung. We were all very close with him but we are unable to contact him separately. We honestly felt disappointed when reports said that his life in Korea was difficult and that the Super Junior members didn’t take care of him.”

Superman Reboot Takes Flight With New Director

Jon Hamm may not be ready to suit up as the Man of Steel, but the behind-the-scenes players are falling into place.

Zack Snyder, the acclaimed director of 300, Watchmen and that new owl movie, has been tagged to direct the upcoming Superman reboot. The competition for the spot in the director's chair was rumored to be intense, with producer Christopher Nolan meeting with such high-profile directors as Tony Scott and Darren Aronofsky.

Bringing Snyder into the fold will definitely infuse the film with compelling visuals. Whether or not you're a fan of his previous movies, Snyder has a distinct, deep visual style—such as from his upcoming Sucker Punch, due out this spring—and that may be exactly the tone needed to keep this superhero installment memorable.

Tony Gilroy in final negotiations to direct 'Bourne Identity 4'

Bourne Identity 4 has a director — but will it get its star? Tony Gilroy, the screenwriter behind all of the Bourne movies will get a shot a directing the fourth installment with the news today that he’s in final negotiations to helm the fourth installment in the Bourne franchise, The Bourne Legacy. Deadline Hollywood first broke the news. How this will manifest itself on the big screen is still a big question. Star Matt Damon has made it very clear that he would not return to the franchise that made him a household name without his preferred director Paul Greengrass.

Now that Greengrass is officially not doing the fourth installment, it’s likely Universal will be looking for a new Jason Bourne. Gilroy, who made his directorial debut with last summer’s Duplicity, is currently writing the script, which has been moving forward without Damon’s involvement. Whether or not that means Gilroy will be reworking the franchise with another actor playing Bourne — or if he will introduce a new main character — is being kept under wraps. The studio cryptically says that the fourth installment “allows for the return of Jason Bourne, but doesn’t require it.” Hmmm. It is encouraging that the man who turned Robert Ludlum’s dense books into high-speed actioners will be behind the camera as the series redefines itself.

It's official: 'Spartacus' moving forward with recast

That this was inevitable doesn’t make it any less sad: Starz has officially started looking for an actor to replace Andy Whitfield on Spartacus.

According to the just-released casting notice, producers are searching for a Caucasian male in his mid to late 30s to play the “smart, intense, passionate” title role. Interested parties must have an authentic British accent and be prepared to sign a three-year contract.

Whitfield was forced to bow out of the show’s second season after doctors advised him to resume “aggressive treatment” for Non-Hodgkin lymphoma. Last week, exec producer Steven S. DeKnight told me that the production would either “close up shop or recast.” It looks like they’re moving forward with the latter.

My two cents: No one can replace Andy Whitfield. But the person who probably comes closest is Grant Bowler.

Google using Chrome to reform slow Web sites

Google plans to use Chrome as a tool to reform the Web by encouraging use of a technology the company says will reduce data-transfer delays.

The technology, called False Start, has the potential to reduce one round of back-and-forth communications between a browser and a Web server when establishing an encrypted connection. That's a significant time savings--about 7 hundredths of a second for communication across the United States and 1.5 tenths of a second from California to Europe.

Even better, unlike many protocol improvements that could improve communications, it doesn't even require changes on both sides of the network connection. Only the browser needs to be changed, according to False Start co-author Adam Langley. Naturally, Google has begun building False Start into its Chrome browser, judging by a Chrome command-line switch that lets Chrome users disable it.

Virgin Mobile offers Samsung Intercept Android smartphone, $249 contract-free

If you prefer your smartphone service to be void of contracts, Virgin Mobile has some news for you. Today, the prepaid wireless carrier officially announced that it was adding the Samsung Intercept to its smartphone lineup. The Intercept, which will be available in mid-October, packs an 800 MHz processor, 3.2-inch touchscreen display, full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 3.2 megapixel camera, and Android 2.1. The device will retail for $249.99 contract-free and can be added to one of Virgin Mobile’s very reasonable plans ($25, $40, $60).

Ashley Tisdale wears a risqué swimsuit on a romantic trip to Las Vegas

Ashley Tisdale took a break from her busy acting schedule on the weekend to show off her bikini body and frolic poolside in Las Vegas.

And love was certainly in the air at the MGM Grand Hotel, which was where the High School Musical star couldn’t keep her hands off her boyfriend Scott Speer.

The 25-year-old actress was also joined by her Hellcats co-stars, Matt Barr, Heather Hemmens and Robbie Jones.

The U.S. TV series is an American cheerleading comedy-drama, in which Tisdale plays the Hellcats’ captain, Savannah Monroe.

Jen Aniston Voted Most Eligible Single Woman in the World

She's been rejected by Brad Pitt, Vince Vaughn, John Mayer and, most recently, Cougar Town star Josh Hopkins.

And apparently most men and women don't understand why.

The currently-unattached actress, 41, was voted the most eligible single woman in the world, according to a 60 MINUTES/Vanity Fair poll released Monday.

The star (who nabbed 29 percent of the votes) was followed by Halle Berry (21 percent); Elin Nordegren (15 percent); Betty White (11 percent); Lady Gaga (5 percent) and Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States, Elena Kagan (4 percent).

Despite being so unlucky in love, Aniston has said she doesn't want people to pity her.

"This whole 'Poor lonely Jen' thing, this idea that I'm so unlucky in love?" she once told Vogue. "I actually feel I've been unbelievably lucky in love...I'm right where I'm supposed to be."

IE9 beta can't halt Internet Explorer share slide

Data released by NetMarketShare for September shows that the usage share for Internet Explorer continues to slide, dropping to its lowest level this year.

Internet Explorer’s usage share how 59.65%, beating this year’s previous low of 59.75% set in May. Microsoft might have been pleased with the 6 million downloads of the IE9 beta, but this only translates into a 0.34% usage share. While IE8 enjoyed an increase in usage share, the browser is being dragged down by users migrating from older versions.

Firefox, Safari and Opera all held their ground well, while Google Chrome jumped up nearly half a percentage point to 7.98%.

I look foor trends rather than data points in these numbers, and it’s clear that IE is trending downwards!

NetMarketShare uses data captured from the 160 million unique visitors browsing some 40,000 Web sites it monitors for clients.

Samsung Galaxy Tab price is £599.99 tip retail insiders

The RRP for Samsung’s Galaxy Tab remains one of the lasting unknowns about the upcoming Froyo tablet, but some loose lips at DSG Group may have spilled the beans. The company behind UK retailers Currys, Dixons and PC World has told Pocket-lint that the SIM-free, off-contract price for the Galaxy Tab will be £599.99 ($950).

That’s £70 more than a 16GB iPad 3G in the UK, as well as being the current price that Amazon UK are offering for preorder customers. Amazon, though, list the RRP at £799.99. Late last week, Samsung confirmed the Galaxy Tab would be arriving in the UK from November 1st, but would only say that the 7-inch slate would be available in a variety of deals including unlocked and carrier subsidized.

It now remains to be seen exactly what sort of subsidies are on offer, and which UK carriers will be getting on board. Either way, it seems like you’ll need deep pockets in more senses than one.

Microsoft re-releases Windows 7 'family pack'

The Windows 7 "family pack" is available once again, Microsoft said in a blog post yesterday.

The $149 bundle of discs, which allows users to upgrade up to three PCs to the Home Premium version of the operating system, is available for the second time. It was first available when Windows 7 launched last year.

Just as before, the Windows 7 family pack includes upgrades, not full installations of the operating system, so those who buy the bundle should already have a legitimate copy of Windows XP or Windows Vista already running on their machines.

For a price comparison, a single copy of the upgrade version of Windows 7 Home Premium costs $119.

According to Microsoft, it will offer the family pack "while supplies last." It took just a few months for the limited supply to run out when Microsoft offered the package last year.

The Windows 7 family pack is available in a number of countries, including the U.S., Canada, China, and much of Europe.

Cheeky Teri Hatcher moonlights as a sexy cleaner for voyeuristic website on Desperate Housewives

Desperate is one word that springs to mind after seeing these latest pictures of Teri Hatcher from an upcoming episode of her ABC show.

The Desperate Housewives star strips down to a provocative lingerie set as her character Susan starts moonlighting as a sexy cleaner.

The mother-of-one takes on a job tidying apartments in her lingerie for a voyeuristic website va-va-broom.com to make some extra cash on the side.

She’s shown erotically polishing candlestick holders and vacuuming in-between bending over and gazing into the camera lens.

Susan’s new career move is a secret from her cash-strapped husband Mike though, who thinks she’s actually selling jewellery instead.

But her secret is almost revealed when Mike comes home early and wonders why his wife is wearing such a racy ensemble.

Luckily Susan manages to subtly close her laptop with her stiletto heel and divert Mike’s attention before he realises what she’s been up to.

Brody Jenner Avril Lavigne Breakup?

It’s all over for Brody Jenner and Avril Lavigne, tattling snoops tell Star Magazine.

We hear the reality hunk and his punk rock princess companion — who have been making out in parked cars all over Los Angeles since the spring — called time on their romance around the same time that Lavigne, 26, blew off Jenner’s 27th birthday bash in Las Vegas last August.

“They had a major falling out around then and haven’t seen much of each other since,” a spywitness says. “Brody says Avril really wasn’t making time for him anymore, since she’s been under pressure to get into the studio to work on her new CD.”

Despite the bump in the road, Brody’s still holding out hope of a reconciliation with the “Girlfriend” star, insiders say.

“Brody hopes they can patch things up once she’s not so busy. He wanted to marry her.”

At the height of their romance, Brody and Avril cemented their love by getting tattoos of each other’s names.

Well…there’s always laser removal!

Google TV quick tour shows off the service's inner workings, Kenny Powers' dreams

Considering the level of hype that has surrounded Google TV, freakishly little is actually known about how it'll work. Of course, a lot of that is expected to be cleared up on Wednesday when Logitech unveils its Google TV lineup, but the Big G itself is giving us all a sneak peek beforehand. The company has just launched a new 'quick tour' portal that showcases the most prominent Google TV features, including Search, Web, Apps, Remote (complete with an Eastbound & Down plug), Personal, Dual View and DVR. Frankly, we're pretty jazzed by the look of the user interface, and we can hardly wait to see what kind of punches Logitech and Sony throw in the coming weeks. Microsoft and AT&T have October 11 Windows Phone 7 event planned

Horror, shock, surprise! Microsoft CEO and prime fanboy of all things Windows and developer-related, Steve Ballmer, will be the keynote speaker at Microsoft's New York launch event for Windows Phone 7. He'll be joined on stage by AT&T's Ralph de la Vega and when the pep rally is over, we're promised opportunities to finally handle the official incarnations of retail Windows Phones for ourselves. We know all this because Microsoft has just dropped a kind little invite into our inbox urging us to attend its October 11 get-together. We will, of course, be there live, but don't forget Microsoft's also holding a London event on that day, ostensibly for the same reason, so make sure to be up nice and early next Monday if you don't wanna miss a thing.

As we reported last night, the company is also holding a gathering centered around T-Mobile WP7 handsets, though details are more scarce on that event. We saw an official invite from the folks in Redmond, but it looks like that showing may be smaller in scale. We have to imagine that AT&T and their GSM competition don't want to share the stage, but as this is a Microsoft launch, anything is possible. Regardless, if there are multiple carriers showing hardware come October 11th, we'll have all the goods.

Bada-based Samsung Wave II S8530 with Super Clear LCD gets official

Samsung has just announced its fifth Bada OS-based smartphone, the Wave II S8530 (not to be confounded with the Wave 2 S5250).

Coming to replace the Wave S8500, the Wave II looks almost the same, but it’s bigger and has a larger display (3.7 inches, WVGA).

Unlike the first Wave, which has a Super AMOLED screen, the new handset features a Super Clear LCD screen – which can only mean that Samsung does have AMOLED production problems, as rumored last week.

Apart from the bigger and different display, the Wave II S8530 features TouchWiz UI 3.0, HSDPA, Wi-Fi b/g/n, GPS, 3.5mm headset jack, Bluetooth 3.0, access to Samsung Apps (which currently hosts more than 1000 applications), TV-out, 5MP autofocus camera with flash, HD (720p) video recording, 1GHz processor, and MicroSD card support up to 32GB.
