The kids at Taoviet have really outdone themselves. From the looks of these images, the Vietnamese site has nabbed an honest to goodness 4th generation iPhone -- a 16GB model to be exact. It's clearly pre-production judging by the XXX placeholders on the backside stamp and likely lacks any OS other than a "Bonfire" test routine. Nevertheless, it looks authentic enough that we expect Apple's henchmen to be busting down the guy's door before he pries it open to reveal Apple's chipset of choice. A few more pics in the gallery.
Update: We've spotted a difference from this model and the unit that Gizmodo bought. Notably, the pair of screws at the bottom of the device are gone. The cleaner design could indicate a newer prototype (closer to the actual retail model) though both the iPhone 3G and 3GS went to market with a similar pair of screws. The long-awaited Japanese drama debut of Taiwan’s favorite supermodel finally took place this past Monday. Model-turned-actress Lin Chi-Ling appeared in the first episode of Kimura Takuya’s drama Moon Lovers (月の恋人). After research firm NPD reported yesterday that Android had overtaken Apple’s iPhone OS and clinched the second place spot in the US smartphone market, the Cupertino company’s PR team have come out fighting. According to Apple spokesperson Natalie Harrison, “This is a very limited report on 150,000 US consumers responding to an online survey and does not account for the more than 85 million iPhone and iPod touch customers worldwide.”
While the future of HP’s Windows 7 slate apparently hangs in the balance, MSI are supposedly gung-ho about their own tablet running the Microsoft OS. According to DigiTimes’ sources, the company will bring the MSI Slatebook to Computex 2010 in early June. Based, so “sources at notebook players” would have it, on Intel’s Menlow Atom Z5xx processor range (not the newer Moorestown Z6xx chips), the Slatebook apparently has a 10-inch display and integrated WiFi and 3G.
Earlier, there were rumors that Cecilia Cheung Pak Chi would have her second baby on Mother’s Day (May 9th) via caesarean section. As a result, a large number of reporters waited outside Cecilia and husband, Nicholas Tse Ting Fung’s apartment building from morning until nightfall on Sunday. However, there was no sight of Cecilia all day. Allegedly, to preserve privacy from the media, Cecilia may have temporarily moved elsewhere to await her baby’s arrival in peace.
