Perez Hilton Apologizes, But Misses the Point

When it comes to apologies, Perez Hilton is about as subtle as his writing style. The gossip blogger, who found himself in a media firestorm after posting a photo apparently showing 17-year-old Miley Cyrus' private parts, has released a video addressing the scandal, and he's deflecting all responsibility and taking it quite lightly considering some think he could face jail time for posting the photo.

Apologies from celebrities and media figures have become quite common these days. Whether it's Jesse James, Tiger Woods, or even David Letterman, all have come forward and said their piece at one point or another. Call us crazy, but denying all wrongdoing entirely when there's a digital backtrack to your actions is probably not the way to win public support or forgiveness. That old superhero line of "with great power comes great responsibility" holds true when it comes to a high-profile blog, so suck it up, admit you screwed up and move on.

Perez did exactly the opposite.

In the video apology, Hilton -- dressed in a fur coat and seemingly nothing else -- declares that he's addressing the "fake controversy the media is really talking about." He continues, saying that he never posted the upskirt photo that showed Miley sans underwear. "Do you think Miley is that stupid to be out in public without panties?" Perez scoffs. Valid argument ... only thousands of people saw the post in which Hilton did indeed display such a photo.

Apple, AT&T iPhone 4 pre-orders now sold out?

We have no idea how this happened given the insane problems Apple and AT&T have had processing iPhone 4 pre-orders today, but lots of people (including us) are seeing a July 2 ship date at Apple's online store, or about a week after the the next-gen iPhone launches on June 24. Frankly, that's amazing -- we can only imagine the kind of sustained rush it took to cause a sellout of a product virtually no one was actually able to order. So that's Apple and AT&T both sold out -- at this point it's looking like standing in line somewhere come launch day is going to be your best bet, but we'll let you know if we hear any better news.

Hit the jump for a couple more pics, then head on over to Engadget to check out what is surely to be Verizon’s darling for many months to come.

Jay Park covers Billionaire & releases official version of Nothing on You!

Heads up, Jaywalkers – Jay Park is back with a brand new cover on Youtube, and this time we’re getting treated with Travis McCoy and Bruno Mars’ Billionaire!

Instead of flaunting his mad breakdancing talent and parody skills like in his previous video, Jay showed off his falsetto and expertise at playing imaginary guitars in this clip. It’s kind of adorable how he gets really into the air guitar playing, then suddenly busts out with his original lyrics. Without further ado, check out the video below!

Errors Mar Initial Sales of iPhone 4

Apple fans who were already unhappy with AT&T, the exclusive carrier for the iPhone in the United States, got another reason to complain about it on Tuesday when Apple and its partners began taking orders for the new iPhone 4.

Numerous people who went to the Web sites of Apple and AT&T to place orders for the phone, which will be released next Thursday, ran into error messages. While the cause of the problems was not entirely clear, many of them appeared to crop up when the sites tried to retrieve AT&T customer data.

Beginning early in the day, tales of exasperation flooded Apple bulletin boards and social sites like Twitter and Facebook. To make matters worse, a handful of readers of the technology blog Gizmodo said that when they logged into AT&T’s site, they found themselves looking at the accounts of strangers.

An AT&T spokesman, Mark Siegal, said the company was investigating those reports. “We have been unable to replicate the issue, but the information displayed did not include call-detail records, Social Security numbers or credit card information,” he said.

Christina Aguilera’s hotly-anticipated comeback has been outdone be a lovelorn vamp and a cast of singing high schoolers!

Christina’s Bionic LP — the songbird’s first album since 2006’s Back To Basics — debuted at No. 3 on the Billboard 200, behind soundtracks for The Twilight Saga: Eclipse and FOX’s musical-comedy Glee — which landed in first place.

Microsoft Office 2010: Six Key Features You Should Know

On Tuesday, Microsoft Office 2010 began appearing on retail shelves, and a lot of people have asked me whether they should upgrade. The answer, as always, depends on what you are going to do with the product.

In general, I think this is a more important upgrade for larger businesses than for home users and small businesses. But it does have a number of neat features many individuals will like.

I've been using Office 2010 as my primary office suite, and have to say I've been very happy with it. Here are the five new features I think will be most attractive for home and small business users:

More Samsung Galaxy S Pro photos, Sprint 4G branding visible

If you’re wondering what the second 4G phone that Sprint will launch is (after the highly popular HTC EVO 4G), the answer is most probably: the QWERTY-equipped Samsung Galaxy S Pro.

The Galaxy S Pro has appeared in more leaked photos (at Android Community), one of them showing its back, where Sprint’s 4G branding in clearly visible. Another thing that’s confirmed: the photo camera is a 5MP autofocus one with LED flash.

It’s probably safe to assume that the features of the Galaxy S Pro are not too different from the ones of the Galaxy S (which will also come to the US, as T-Mobile’s T959), so we should expect Sprint’s new smartphone to have a WVGA Super AMOLED display, 1GHz processor, and at least 8GB of internal memory.

SME to Hangeng: You’re still under contract with us

SM Entertainment has reminded Hangeng (Hankyung), the Chinese member of boy band Super Junior, that he is still under contract with the agency and that all his activities should have its approval.

Hangeng filed a lawsuit against SME last December in South Korea to terminate his exclusive contract, saying that it was disadvantageous to him.

He left South Korea and is living in his native China.

Since then, Hangeng has been charting his career as a solo singer outside SME.

SME’s action is regarded as a response to many activities that Hangeng has been doing in the past several months including TV appearances.

Recently, Hangeng and Chinese singer Zhou BiChang recorded the official song for the Asian Games that will be held in Guangzhou, China this November. The song has topped 20 music charts in different parts of China.

Hangeng is also set to release his own album.

In an article in a Chinese website, Hangeng talked about his lawsuit.

Angela Zhang and mom finally break the ice, wake from nightmare

Ever since Angela's family troubles were exposed last September, leading to her mother being accused of parental neglect, and herself of being led astray by a Vietnamese female. The mother and daughter have been at ends with each other for the past nine months, but today it has been revealed that Angela has already spoken to her mother on the phone, and have a sentence to describe the previous storm of events. "It is like a very long nightmare." She invited her parents to attend her concert twice, and meant to use the concert performance as a way of burying the broken mirror of their relationship.

Public statement had no effect, used logic and sincerity to contact mom

Angela's "2010 Pandora Star Concert Tour" will start on August 7th, with two performances at the Taipei Arena. She admits that she has matured and endured many things in the past two years, the most trying event and sensitive event being the estrangement of her mother-daughter relationship. "Every household isn't perfect, I am a normal person, and I also have to face these events bravely when I have no choice."

Microsoft luring iPhone game devs to Windows Phone 7 with cold, hard cash?

A solid third-party app ecosystem is going to be absolutely critical to Windows Phone 7's commercial success -- and Microsoft clearly knows that, having spent nearly as much (if not more) energy talking to developers since the platform's announcement than it has directly to potential end users. In particular, one area where Microsoft really wants to play ball (pardon the pun) is with a rock-sold gaming experience -- and to that end, it seems Redmond isn't being shy about putting its money where its mouth is. The rumor going around today is that Microsoft is reaching out to developers of popular iPhone games, offering cash in exchange for a Windows Phone 7 port; you might think that most of these devs would be totally down with dropping their games on a hot new platform with revenue potential, but the challenge is that WP7's development environment is different enough from the iPhone's to make porting a pretty big challenge. The dev that allegedly contacted PocketGamer.biz about the offer turned it down, saying the financial compensation was "substantial" but ultimately not enough for the amount of work he'd have to put into it -- so this might just be a question of how badly Microsoft wants to come roaring out of the gate with a great catalog of apps. They've certainly got the cash to make this happen if they decide to up the ante.

Robert Pattinson: Kissing Kristen Stewart in Eclipse Felt Natural

The chemistry may be heating up in the third Twilight: Saga film, but Robert Pattinson didn't feel any added pressure. Instead, he was more at ease.

"Kissing felt a little bit more natural in Eclipse, even if there was plenty of it," he tells Parade.

"In New Moon and Twilight it was always like, 'Oh, I'm gonna kill you if I kiss you' or something. It was always kind of odd," says the 24-year-old. "But in Eclipse, [Edward and Bella] understand their situation a lot more, which makes it easier."

The result: "It's the first time Kristen and I have been able to just act like a normal couple," he says.

But before fans get too excited that Pattinson, 24, might've just officially outed him and costar Kristen Stewart, 20, as a couple, the Brit still dodges the dreaded dating question.

"I guess people like stories, that's my basic conclusion," he says when asked if the two are also a couple off-screen. "[Fans] just want everything in our lives to be like Twilight. The truth is that I wish I had a few more hours of sleep today so I could think of a better answer. I'm exhausted all the time."

Demi Lovato Blonde

Nothing helps a girl recover from a broken heart like a new look. Disney cutie Demi Lovato has been keeping a low profile since she was unceremoniously dumped by commitment-phobic boy bander Joe Jonas late last month. However, the Sonny With A Chance star resurfaced this week — and sporting a spankin’ new ‘do. Lovato showed off her new sunkissed locks as she accompanied kid sister Madison De La Garza through security at Los Angeles International Airport on Monday.

Sassy! You like?

Hands-on with the AT&T HTC Aria

June 20th. That’s when AT&T gets the HTC Aria — a phone which, at least in my mind, is AT&T’s first to be powered by Android. What’s that you say? The Motorola Backflip was the first Android phone on AT&T? Sorry, I guess my mind has a tendency to block out tragic events.

With past sins forgiven, I was pretty anxious to check out AT&T’s second venture into Android territory. Our friends from HTC just so happened to be making a trip through my part of town. One quick jaunt over to their hotel lobby later, and I walked away with an Aria in tow. Expect a full review within a few days — but in the mean time, pop behind the jump for my first impressions.

HTC EVO 4G safely overclocked past 1.2GHz, battery begs for mercy

With root obtained for the EVO 4G, it was just a matter of time before the overclocking hilarity ensued -- and as it turns out, that Snapdragon core was ready and waiting to fulfill your wildest desires. The root-only SetCPU app is in full effect on the EVO, churning out speeds of well over 1.2GHz -- apparently with no effect on stability, though it'll require a bump in voltage. The change results in a linpack improvement of over 25 percent, over 8.8 MFLOPS all told, which means your processor is finally worthy of the speedy 4G radio. Now let's get cracking on that 3,000mAh battery, alright? Follow the break for video.

JaeChunSu to join forces with Kanye West & Timbaland?!

And no, that’s not a misleading title – it looks like Jay Park isn’t the only one touching base with mainstream American artists, because the Triforce of JYJ, Jaejoong, Yoochun and Junsu will be teaming up with Kanye West and Timbaland for what may become a collaboration of epic proportions!

Hitmaking wonder Jae Chong recently posted an update blog on the online artist community alivenotdead.com, outlining his upcoming plans and collaborations for 2010. Although this post went public near the beginning of June, it’s been spreading like wildfire among Cassiopeians as of late for obvious reasons.

Decked out with countless music awards and a star-studded track record, Jae Chong is one of Asia’s revolutionaries of music. His professional musical career kicked off in Los Angeles’ underground hip hop scene back in the nineties, and has since migrated to the Asian music world. Jae first gained widespread fame as a member & producer of the immensely popular R&B group Solid (솔리드), selling over four million records in Korea in just four years – and to put that in context, TVXQ has sold around seven million records (Japan + Korea sales for all discography) since their 2003 debut seven years ago.

Ady An can't get enough of Birkin

Owning a Hermes Birkin is many women’s wish…including Ady An.

This time, UDN takes the photo-shoot at a Hermes store. The moment Ady walks in, she speaks with excitement, “Do you know what I brought?” Like a kid anxiously showing off her treasure, she takes out her four hundred thousand dollar (NT) dream bag, which is the most expensive bag that she has ever bought and spent five years on the waiting list to obtain.

“I can’t even bear to actually use it. I bought it at the beginning of the year and today is the second time that I’ve taken it out to use it.” Ady reveals that she treats her Birkin like a Goddess, “I don’t take it out when I’m filming or when it’s raining outside.” When asked if her dream of owning a Birkin bag ends here, she giggles and says that she still wants to get another one in a lighter color. She’s got her eyes on the grey and white crocodile-skin version, but its price is well over a million (NTD), making her cry out three times, “So expensive!” And then she adds, “I really can’t (buy it). I’m probably not fated to. I hope my future husband will buy it for me!”

Motorola Verizon Droid X (& D2?) on June 23. New Blur, Android 2.1.9 and Flash support inside?

We told you will have to wait a bit, (until July 19th) to get your hands on the latest and greatest Verizon Motorola Droid X.

And we still stand by that.

But all those unending Moto Droid X leaks, that were getting a bit old already, are about to end next week, on June 23.

That’s the day that Verizon, Google, Motorola and Adobe (?!) have scheduled to “unleash the next generation of Droid”. Who knows, we may even see Moto Droid 2 announced next Wednesday, as well.

One interesting thing about the upcoming announcement is the presence of Adobe CEO. That could only mean that the new Droids will be be able to run Flash. But in all the new Droid leaks we’ve seen, both Motorola Droid X and Droid 2 have been running Android 2.1. And we all know, that Adobe Flash isn’t supported until Android V2.2/Froyo. So what Mr. Narayen will be doing at the event?

PlayStation Plus announced at E3: $50 / year

And here it is! PlayStation Plus has been announced. As we suspected, the PlayStation Network itself will not change, while power users can upgrade for $50 a year or $18 for three months. And to sweeten the deal, your first three months are free. And what do you get for your hard earned dough? Tons of premium content, including "hundreds of dollars of products" throughout the year, early access to betas, and Qore. Sony is also indicating that Plus subscribers will be able to send voice messages to other gamers to invite them to play, even if they've made the foolish decision to not subscribe to Plus. Naturally, though, they won't be able to reply in kind unless they too pony up the cash.

PlayStation Move: $49.99 on September 19th

The wait for the PlayStation Move is finally over. Well, almost. Today at E3, Sony announced that the PlayStation move will be launching in North America on September 19th. This launch will be preceded by Europe on the 19th and followed by Japan on the 21st of October. The Move itself will retail for $49.99 with the navigation controller going for an extra $29.99. A PlayStation Move Sports Champions bundle will be available for $99.99 and includes a Move, Eve and a copy of Sports Champion. For those that don’t have a PlayStation, a bundle which includes the PS3, Move, Eye and navigation controller, and Sports Champions for $399.99. 15 to 20 titles will be available at launch and will retail for $39.99 each. By Christmas, Sony is expecting to have 40 titles in its catalog.

Cameron Diaz is beautiful in a tiny blue bikini as she relaxes on Hawaiian family break

She has got a body that is the envy of millions of women worldwide.

So it was no surprise to see Cameron Diaz showing off her amazing physique in a tiny blue bikini as she enjoyed a family break in Maui, Hawaii.

The 37-year-old star, who is arguably one of the most physically fit actresses in Hollywood, looked toned, tanned and healthy as she made the most of the sunshine on the beach.

The actress, who can soon be seen in Knight And Day alongside Tom Cruise, credits her stunning body to healthy eating and regular exercise, including Pilates.

But unlike many stars who have to reduce their food intake to maintain their figures, Cameron says she likes nothing better than eating a good meal.

Taylor Lautner GQ Magazine July 2010

“There’s some things you just have to live with. Like 12 cars camping outside your house, and when you wake up in the morning, they’re going to follow you wherever you go. It helps that I live in Valencia. It eliminates some. But they’re still here,” Taylor Lautner on the downside of fame, GQ Magazine July 2010

Taylor’s newest movie, The Twilight Saga: Eclipse, opens in theaters on June 30.

Nintendo 3DS gets official, includes 3D camera; First Hands On

We've been reading about it for what seems like ages, looking over images of the FCC prototype with a magnifying glass, and now Nintendo is showing it off at its E3 press conference. The company that Mario built is trumping up how superior its glasses-free technology is better than others, "a solution that lets you take 3D gaming along with you wherever you go" according to Reggie. The upper screen is surprisingly only 3.5-inches, not the wider that we'd expected. There is a slider on the side that lets you tweak the 3D effect, seemingly enabling you to adjust its depth based on your distance from the screen -- or turn it off entirely. As with the current DS, the bottom is a touchscreen, and is not 3D.

That's what looks to be an analog stick on the side there, as well, that Nintendo is calling a "Slide Pad." There is a gyro, motion sensor, it's compatible with DSi games, and has two cameras enabling 3D photos. Nintendo is also talking up partnerships including Disney, games that are said to be playable today, at the show, with one of the highlights being a new Kid Icarus game which looks quite action-packed to say the least -- and has better graphics than most of the Wii titles Nintendo has shown thus far. Nintendo has mentioned the 3DS will have the "biggest launch support ever" from third party devs, and a 3D Nintendogs should be a huge seller -- if only because it has cats too. Other games include Madden, Ninja Gaiden, Resident Evil, a Batman title, Splinter Cell, and, finally, a Metal Gear Solid entry.

iPhone 4 pre-orderers overwhelm servers, world on the brink of ending

Look up at the sky -- is it falling? It sure seems as if that kind of doom is imminent, at least if this whole iPhone 4 pre-order situation is any indication of future tragedy. We've received hundreds of tips this morning from friends near and far that iPhone 4 pre-orders aren't going through, though a few of us here on staff were able to get a confirmation during the wee hours of the morning. From AT&T in the US to O2 over in the UK, it seems that just about everyone ambling to get their name on a future iPhone 4 is experiencing a great deal of frustration. AT&T's servers seem to be completely hosed here in America, and since Apple's own online order process has to ping those to check on your contract status, neither option is... um, working. Those who decided to line up at a local store are facing similar issues; employees aren't even able to fully process pre-orders in store due to systems being overwhelmed, and no one seems to exactly know when things will be back to normal. And you thought the most enraging part of this was the inability to select a white model.

Jay Park and B.o.B to release digital single

Back in March, famous actor/singer Jay Park opened his official YouTube account and posted up a cover of B.o.B’s Nothin’ On You. The video was racking hundreds of thousands of views by the hour, and now stands at over 4.8 million views.

With his cover garnering much interest from people all around the world, it was known that B.o.B was getting much attention solely from Jay Park. With that said, B.o.B’s hit song Nothin’ On You reached the peak spot of #1 on the Top 100 Billboards Chart almost instantly after the video was posted online.

It is now known that B.o.B will officially collab with Jay Park. On the 15th, Warner Music Korea announced that Jay Park will be featured on B.o.B’s Nothin’ On You track singing vocals, while B.o.B will continue to do the rapping. The stars will be returning to Korea, where the duet single will be released.

Jolin's boss didn't know she was going to Jay Chou's concert

Jay Chou’s latest concert might have come to an end, but the excitement is far from over. At the after party, he explained the reason behind Double J’s surprising on-stage reunion, “Being able to shock you all, I feel very cool.” He also clarified that he and Jolin Tsai are just "friends".

As for whether they would get back together in the future, he said, “Let's stop (talking about) this. It’s been ten years already, but (I) hope the classic scene (of their on-stage reunion) will live on.” Jay Chou apparently can't stand images from his 2004 dance off with Jolin Tsai being used over and over again. He should rest easy now that the media can play both their new and old footage.

New Xbox 360 guide: Microsoft's slim console explained

It may not have a new name, but the Xbox 360 certainly has received quite a facelift on this the fifth anniversary of its unveiling. The new Xbox 360 (aka the "Xbox 360 250GB") makes up for its familiar name by offering a starkly refreshed and, in our eyes, significantly sexier design than its predecessor -- which honestly was quite the looker in its day. Despite only just being made official, we've already had time to unbox and play with one, a dizzyingly fast-paced unveil that might have left you with some questions about just what here is new and what here is old. Click on through, dear reader, and we'll tell you everything you need to know.

Rain and Jeon Ji Hyun’s pictorial arousing interest among netizens

Last week, we reported that rumors about world star Rain and actress Jeon Ji Hyun dating were circulating the web. Later, Rain brushed off the rumors, simply stating that they were false. However, even after giving his two cents, it appears as if a pictorial between the two stars is reviving this rumor among netizens once again!

Not too long ago, Rain uploaded onto his Twitter a couple of pictures from a previous photoshoot that he shot with Jeon Ji Hyun. However, netizens quickly caught that since his rumors with the said actress began, he deleted all the content he had posted onto his Twitter, including the two pictorials.

However, unlike in most cases, many netizens are in favor of these two stars having a relationship. Many have teased that Rain only deleted his Twitter content to hide his affection for the actress and others have said, “They look good together!”

Joey Yung risks life for beauty

Joey Yung wore a six inches pair of high heels to attend an event, which made her became the "Tall Person", and became the centre of attraction. She admitted that she is sacrificing her "life" for beauty. About affecting childbirth, she said, "I couldn't even find someone yet, even if i die of hunger the sky is not bright yet."

Joey Yung, Yumiko Cheng, Vincy Chan, Sherman Chung, Ken Hung, Jason Chan, and Louis Lai attended the EEG's Jewelry Present <<24>> TV series's press conference. Joey Yung wore Ann Demeulemeester's attire, and matched with Givenchy's 6 inches pair of high heels, the tallest at the scene.

Joey admitted that she wants beauty and forsakes "life", she said, "Don't have to think about 3 to 4 inches, if now I don't look nice, even if I look nice in future there's no more purpose. Have to grab the opportunity to look good as I'm young." About wearing heels too often which would affect child bearing next time, she said, " I already know that next time my legs would have problem." (Child birth!) "Let's talk about that when I really will give birth, I can't even find the right person yet, what can I give birth to? The sky wouldn't turn bright even if I'm hunger to death, I have to look good even if I die." She revealed that appearance is important, gave to wear shades if walking on the streets without make-up on, she said, " This is self-respect, you have to guard yourself when you're not pretty."

Mac mini (unibody) unboxing and hands-on

Well you've seen the press photos, but now you can focus on something a little more personal. Yep, we've got the new Mac mini over at Engadget HQ all primed and ready for a full review, but first we thought we'd give you a little taste of what the box actually looks like. We'll admit, while we like the unibody construction of other Apple products, there's something especially serious about this design that speaks to us. We've been expecting the company would move the mini line to the machined aluminum housing, and it's a welcome change for sure. The new iteration also does away with that bulky power supply (it's now built in), and surprisingly allows easy access to the memory via a crazy new twist off rubber base. Like we said, we'll see if this thing is really worth the extra $100 in our review, but for now, feast your eyes on the images below.

Firefox 4 upgrade ideas start becoming reality

Mozilla released a new Firefox 4 prototype late Monday that builds in support for Google's WebM video technology and several other changes planned for the open-source Web browser's next major version.

With WebM, Google hopes to liberate Web video from patent-related royalty constraints of today's prevailing video compression technology, H.264. Mozilla and Google are working to make WebM's VP8 codec a standard part of the new specification for built-in video being added to the HTML5 Web page design technology.

But the situation is complicated: Apple prefers the H.264 codec and has built that codec into its Safari browser, and Microsoft is doing so with IE9, its upgrade to Internet Explorer now under development. Google's Chrome is supporting both H.264 and WebM, whose video codec is called VP8.

Lending a bit of weight to the Mozilla and Google camp is Opera Software, the fifth-ranked browser in terms of share of usage. On Monday, it released an Opera developer version that adds WebM support among various other HTML5 additions.

Katy Perry “California Gurls” Music VIDEO [Ft. Snoop Dogg]

Busty pop tart Katy Perry is showing off her “girls” in a Candy Land-inspired video for her charttopping summer smash, “California Gurls.”

Power A Makes a Wireless Xbox 360 Controller for the PS3

This is the best PlayStation 3 controller right now, precisely because it's not shaped like a PS3 controller.

Power A spent a good deal of time taking what's best about the Xbox 360 controller—the most natural "traditional" controller—and bringing it to the PS3. It's called the PS3 Pro Elite, and it's only $50. You have your left analog stick up on the top left and D-Pad down on the bottom. The palm parts extend much lower, and are coated with a grippy, but breathable material, which makes a huge difference when you play games for hours on end.

Modern Warfare 2 sells 20 million, Activision eyeing used market

E3 2010: In analyst presentation, Activision says there's an "insatiable" market for new shooters, aims to be most profitable entertainment company within 10 years; planning ways to get a piece of the $500 million used-game industry.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has passed another milestone. In a pre-Electronic Entertainment Expo analysts event tonight, Activision announced that the Infinity Ward-developed first-person shooter has now sold more than 20 million copies worldwide.

If that game's success wasn't staggering enough, CEO Bobby Kotick told analysts that the next title, Treyarch's Call of Duty: Black Ops, could possibly do even better. Kotick noted multiple times that the Call of Duty series has grown more successful with each new installment, and said that preorders for Black Ops are tracking higher right now than those of Modern Warfare 2 when that game was this far out from release. Black Ops is set for a November 9 debut.

Ubisoft Shows 'Assassin's Creed,' Tom Clancy Sequel at E3

After an Electronic Arts press conference that included an appearance by Joe Montana, a 24-person multi-player FPS demo, and a lobby full of Jedis, Ubisoft needed something truly spectacular to shine Monday afternoon at E3 2010.

In the end, it's hard to say which publisher came out on top, but one thing's for sure Ubisoft certainly gave EA a run for its money.

The Ubisoft event, held in the Los Angeles Theatre in downtown LA was presided over by Joel McHale, star of the NBC sitcom Community. By the end of the event, we were introduced to an Olympic gold medalist, shown some downright trippy demos, and treated one final cacophonous dance battle.

Ubisoft kicked off the event in a bizarre fashion, with a programmer playing the full-body immersive "Child of Eden," a truly otherworldly game full of geometric shapes and cameos by Asian pop stars. The player danced in front of the Microsoft Kinect, with white gloves on, Michael Jackson-style. Like many of the games shown at the event, Ubisoft didn't dwell too much on the details - like whether or not the bizarre title will ever make it to our shores.
