Motorola Verizon Droid X (& D2?) on June 23. New Blur, Android 2.1.9 and Flash support inside?

We told you will have to wait a bit, (until July 19th) to get your hands on the latest and greatest Verizon Motorola Droid X.
And we still stand by that.
But all those unending Moto Droid X leaks, that were getting a bit old already, are about to end next week, on June 23.
That’s the day that Verizon, Google, Motorola and Adobe (?!) have scheduled to “unleash the next generation of Droid”. Who knows, we may even see Moto Droid 2 announced next Wednesday, as well.
One interesting thing about the upcoming announcement is the presence of Adobe CEO. That could only mean that the new Droids will be be able to run Flash. But in all the new Droid leaks we’ve seen, both Motorola Droid X and Droid 2 have been running Android 2.1. And we all know, that Adobe Flash isn’t supported until Android V2.2/Froyo. So what Mr. Narayen will be doing at the event?
There are a couple of possible explanations for this.
Motorola Droid will actually come with Android 2.2 since day one. But, at this point, it’s a bit hard to believe. The leaked Droids have been seen to have the new version of Moto Blur UI, on top of Android 2.1. Tweaking the Blur to Android 2.2 is no trivial task, and I don’t see how Motorola could be able to do that.
Hence – the more likely explanation. Motorola Droid X will still come with Android 2.1. But the new Moto Blur UI, with additional Android 2.1 customizations, will provide Flash support throughout the handset.
I certainly wish that I was wrong, and #1 possibility was the real one. But, IMHO, that won’t happen and we will have to live with the improved, Flash supporting Blur on Moto Droids for now.
Actually, Motorola Blur/Android thing, running on the next generation Droids, might be neither 2.1, nor 2.2, but something in between. Let’s call it Android 2.1.9.
Motorola has been rumored to work on Google Nexus Two model, which was either postponed, or cancelled, due to poor Nexus One sales. So they must have had access to early Froyo builds, and, most likely, tweaked the final Moto Blur/Android combination accordingly.
Still, as far as the official Android 2.2 Froyo version goes, my guess is, that we will not see it in any of Motorola Droid handsets, at all. Current Droids will skip Froyo, and go straight to the Android Gingerbread or higher, at the end of this year.
