Chinese Workers Poisoned while Assembling iPhone 4G (HD)

Much anticipated iPhone 4G will be officially unveiled by Steve Jobs in a Keynote at WWDC in June. Before the official launch, thousand of Chinese workers are busy in assembling iPhone 4G parts which is not an easy task at all. In a midst of it, a young worker Bai Bing who has spent months in an eastern Chinese hospital wants consumers to look beyond the shiny exterior of such gadgets (iPhone 4G) and let them know how much agony and pain they suffer from the task they do all day. She was poisoned by the chemical n-hexane, used to clean Apple components including iPhone touch screens. As many as 62 workers are adversely affected by n-methane chemical while cleaning the iPhone 4G touch panels.

“People should know what we do to create these products and what cost we pay,” said Bai Bing while lying on a bed in her ward.

Wu Mei, an another worker whose health deteriorated last spring after working for countless hours at Wintek, a Taiwan-owned electronics giant supplying Touch Panels for iPhone 4G. She was weaker than before and noticed she could not walk so fast.

Miley Cyrus, 17: Dad Billy Ray "Loves" Racy New Music Vid

What does Billy Ray Cyrus think of his 17-year-old daughter Miley's racy new music video -- which features her grinding with guys and cavorting in a $25,000 corset?

"My dad loves it," the former Disney star tells MTV News of the vid for "Can't Be Tamed," which was released last Tuesday.

"I think my dad was thinking I was a little crazy while I was writing it because when you're hearing 'feathers coming out of your hands,' [you think] 'oh wow, looks crazy!'" Miley says.

"They were so proud of the treatment that I came up for it with my good friend Jamal," continues Miley, referring to choreographer Jamal Sims.

In fact, Miley's mom, Tish, "was on set," she says.

This isn't the first time Miley's parents have defended her controversial moves.

After she pole danced at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009, Billy Ray said, "I just think that Miley loves entertaining people... I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it's important."

Kim Kardashian Ignores Death Threats, Embraces Bieber Fever

Because causing a riot in Australia and trampling over a middle-aged woman in New Zealand weren't clear enough signs that Justin Bieber fans are certifiably insane, the group proved just how ridiculous its affection for Bieber can be when it threatened to murder Kim Kardashian last week.

Seriously, a series of Bieber lovers Tweeted death threats to Kim after she joked about Justin as her boyfriend. What did these Tweets say?

"They sent me messages like, 'If I ever see you in the streets, I will kill you! You took my man!'" Kardashian told Us Weekly. "I got a few today. One said, 'I will shank you.' Not too sure what a 'shank' is."

Sprint cans Nexus One in favor of EVO 4G

In light of Verizon's recent decision (or was that Google's decision?) to say goodnight to the Nexus One in favor of the Droid Incredible, we thought it might be wise to reach out to Sprint and get a comment on its own version -- the EVO 4G is just around the corner, of course, and it's lying in wait to cast a long, long shadow over any other Android device in Sprint's lineup. Sure enough, the carrier says that it's now taking a pass on Google's first "superphone," seeing how the EVO 4G is basically better in every respect: WiMAX support, larger screen, better camera, and so on. Of course, this might peeve a few folks who'd prefer stock Android over HTC's Sense UI -- if for no other reason than the fact that Sense-powered devices tend to have wildly longer firmware upgrade lag times than stock ones do -- but otherwise, the move seems to be a perfectly logical one. Oh, and as for that EVO? No update on a launch window, but Sprint says that it's still targeting Summer, thank goodness.

Five Reasons HP "Hurricane" Can Compete With iPad

Rumor has it that the Windows 7-based HP Slate tablet PC is dead, but that HP has plans to leverage its purchase of Palm to develop a new WebOS-based tablet currently codenamed "Hurricane". It appears that HP is beginning to understand that the iPad is a unique device and its not about taking a notebook and making it into a flat, touchscreen computer.

There are a variety of tablet-like computing devices in the works. But, assuming that the hardware form factor is similar to the deceased HP Slate, but with WebOS as the platform--here are five reasons that the HP Hurricane tablet will make a formidable competitor for the Apple iPad.

Jay Chou Wants To Learn To Fly Like A Superman

Jay Chou talks about his mentality of the past 10 years in new song "Superman Can't Fly." He accepted an interviw by POPradio and disclosed he wants the superpower of flying the most, so he can avoid being followed by paparazzi. He also said that he is able to see through people's minds. The crew from the radio station took out a brand new set of cartoon poker cards. Unexpectedly, Jay really did predict the cartoon character and number on the card.

When he was reporting on air, he wrongly said 'don't need to wake up in a rush when you're on break' to 'don't wake up when you're on break,' also he misprounced his own name. He said he really doesn't have time to sleep because he has to appear in different shows and programs. Others said he is indeed a superman.

Mozilla shares tentative vision for Firefox 4

Our first glimpse of Firefox 4 was limited to a few tasteful mockups; this time, Mozilla's main man Mike Beltzner has revealed the company's plans for its next generation web browser in its entirety. While exact features and dates are sketchy, his presentation reveals Mozilla would like to hold the Firefox 4 beta in June, before unleashing a CSS3, partially HTML5 compliant web browser with multitouch support, background updates, geolocation, Firefox Sync (aka Mozilla Weave) and a greatly streamlined UI this holiday season. The presentation has "PLANS MIGHT CHANGE" written all over it in large red letters, so trust us when we say none of this is for sure, but we like the direction Firefox is going and we'll be happy to see more. Video presentation at our source link, full slideshow after the break.

eBay Sells 5,000-plus iPads, UAE Buyers Pay Highest Prices

Since iPad’s launch, eBay has sold more than 5,300 units across the world, 65% abroad and 35% at home, according to data from eBay that spans from mid-March to mid-April. The UK dominated international sales, with 550 units sold, or roughly 15% of foreign sales. But buyers from the United Arab Emirates were willing to shell out the most cash, with the average buyer paying a hefty premium of $537 (!) for the 64GB version (more than enough to buy a bare bones 16GB Wi-Fi model).

I spy a 'Chuck' pickup!

Rather, my spies spy a Chuck pickup. And really, isn’t that better?

Multiple sources confirm that NBC is expected to do the right thing and renew the action comedy for a fourth season. Per one insider, the show has thus far figured into all of the network’s preliminary plans for its May 17 upfront presentation.

Although a 13-episode pickup is the most likely scenario, my moles suggest that there’s also chance the show could be given a full season order.

An NBC rep had no comment. Series creator Josh Schwartz, meanwhile, says not to believe the hype. Renewal? “That’s news to me,” he swears. “I would urge fans to take nothing for granted… and watch tonight’s all-new episode, guest-starring Doc Brown himself, Christopher Lloyd, and the return of Anna Wu (Julia Ling).”

Listen to the man. And NBC, listen to the fans. Chuck fans, the comments section below is all yours. Post away!

Katy Perry Wants a 'Small' Wedding, But a 'Fat Reception'

For her wedding to "bridezilla" fiancé Russell Brand, Katy Perry already has worked out a few little – but important – details.

"I think [the wedding] will be small," the singer, whose new single "California Gurls" just hit the Web, told PEOPLE at Friday's 7th Annual Bag Lunch, benefiting PS Arts at the Buckingham Estate in Brentwood, Calif. "I always have a ton of people around me and I think the people that are going to share this moment with us are the people we want to integrate into each other's lives."

But friends of the couple shouldn't worry about being left out of the festivities. The couple are also planning "a big, fat reception for the people who can't make it," Perry says.

As for the other important details – the location, the dress – Perry has some ideas for the big day. For example, the singer wants her dress designer to have special meaning.

"We have been kind of talking to [John] Galliano because that was the first [fashion] show in Paris that we kind of came out as a couple," she says. "So if we did Galliano, it would make it full circle."

Apple, AT&T had five-year exclusive iPhone deal but have the terms since changed?

Court documents have confirmed that the exclusive deal between AT&T and Apple was for five years, a timeframe that was reported - though unconfirmed - by a USA Today report three years ago. Engadget put the pieces together and excerpted parts of the court documents in its own post to confirm the earlier USA Today report.

The revelation would normally imply that there are two years left on that contract but, before anyone goes giving up on the iPhone coming to another carrier anytime soon, it’s important to note that contracts can be altered or dissolved before their expiration dates and that Apple and AT&T likely renegotiated the terms surrounding the iPhone when they hammered out an agreement around the iPad.

Bottom line: No one knows how long Apple and AT&T have left in that exclusive contract. So, in essence, nothing has changed.

It’s official: AT&T launching the Palm Pre Plus on May 16th for $149.99

Aaannnddd it’s official. AT&T has just announced through its Facebook page that it will be carrying the Palm Pre Plus starting May 16th. Want in? That’ll be $149.99 on a 2-year contract, please. Too much money? Okay. What if we told you AT&T will throw in a free Touchstone charger? No? Didn’t think so. Next!

Rumor: Macbook Air refresh, 27-inch display due this Tuesday

Macworld.com.au is reporting that a refresh of Apple’s Macbook Air is scheduled for tomorrow. The source claims the new Air will have the Apple part number MC516LL/A K87 BETTER BTR-USA, and is already visible in Apple’s inventory system. The source goes on to say Apple may also announce a new 27-inch LED cinema display to compliment the 24-inch model already available. We would like to see a MacBook Air packing, at minimum, a Core i3 and 4GB of RAM, oh…and a 27-inch display that actually works would be nice.

Raymond Wong complains about illegal downloads of "Ip Man 2"

Since it’s Hong Kong theatrical release 11 days ago, the film "Ip Man 2" starring Donnie Yen has garnered HKD$28 million at the box office, with an unprecedented single day earnings (for 5/9) of HKD$3 million. With this type of box office revenue, not only is the film #1 in terms of single day earnings, it also #1 overall this year – currently leading "Iron Man 2" (box office revenue HKD$21.88 million), which premiered in Hong Kong theatres 1 day later. The box office revenue for "Ip Man 2" has also exceeded the HKD$25 million box office revenue that the original "Ip Man" film garnered 2 years ago.

"Ip Man 2" was also a box office success in mainland China, bringing in 100 million Yuan (RMB) in revenue in just 5 days. However, the film’s owner and executive producer Raymond Wong Bak Ming has indicated that the rampant illegal downloading of the film is a huge problem and has caused a potential loss in revenue of several hundred million. On his micro-blog, Raymond Wong wrote: “Someone has done something truly harmful by illegally recording the film and placing it on the internet for others to download for free. My understanding is that there have been over 10 million ‘hits’ to the illegal web version of the film, which has caused the box office revenue to fall by about half. I am afraid that the revenue won’t reach the 300 million Yuan originally anticipated – we’ll be happy if it ends up surpassing the 200 million Yuan mark slightly.” He has expressed that he will be pursuing legal action against the originator of the illegal download.

The 25-year-old "I Kissed a Girl" singer clawed her way to the top with an alluring combination of sexy style and tomboy attitude.

"It's that feeling you get when you suddenly realize that the smartest, funniest, coolest girl you know also happens to the best looking and a pretty good skateboarder, too," mused Joe Levy, Maxim's editor-in-chief. "All of sudden, your crush goes supernova, and this is Katy's supernova moment."

Lady Gaga Steps Out in Sweden

Lady Gaga is not to be outdone.

Amid chatter about whether she copied Christina Aguilera or vice versa, the pop star opted for a stripped-down streamlined look in Stockholm, Sweden.

As Lady Gaga fashion goes, this is one of our favorite looks.

Not only do we love the coat, it looks like she's fleeing her hotel after the fire alarm went off and simply forgot / didn't have time to get dressed ...

The rumored hermaphrodite was actually headed to the studio here, not to do a live show. Hey, sometimes you've gotta go all-out while you record as well.

Carrie Underwood “Undo It” VIDEO

“Before He Cheats” star Carrie Underwood revives her role as a woman scorned in the music video premiere for her new hit “Undo It.”

Android ahead of iPhone OS in Q1 2010 US smartphone market

Analysts NPD are claiming that, by their count, Android has crept past Apple to take the number two spot of most popular smartphone operating systems in the US. Based on figures from Q1 2010, Android-based devices accounted for 28-percent of smartphone unit sales, ahead of Apple’s iPhone OS at 21-percent but still lagging behind RIM’s BlackBerry OS at 36-percent.

The shift in balance is being credited to strong promotional pushes by US carriers to drive Android device adoption, particularly in the face of the iPhone’s current exclusivity on AT&T. ”In order to compete with the iPhone,” NPD analyst Ross Rubin explains, “Verizon Wireless has expanded its buy-one-get-one offer beyond RIM devices to now include all of their smartphones.” This promotion saw particularly strong sales of the DROID, DROID Eris, and Blackberry Curve.

Microsoft Office 2010 enterprise pricing: You win some, you lose some

Microsoft’s launch of Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010 is on May 12, with the main event happening in New York City. Starting that day, business users will be able to get their hands on Microsoft’s latest version of its Office client and server products. (Consumers who want Office and/or Office Web Apps still will have to wait until June.)

My ZDNet colleague Ed Bott has posted a list of great suggestions for individuals interested in getting Office 2010 as cheaply as (legally) possible. But what if you’re a business user covered by a volume licensing contract? What can you expect, price-wise, with Office 2010?

The researchers over at Directions on Microsoft have done quite a bit of price analysis on this front. They’ve found that volume licensees should expect to pay the same or higher for Office 2010 than they did for Office 2007. In the cases where the price is higher, Microsoft has added more features, Directions on Microsoft noted.

iPad international data plans roundup: Japan gets SIM-locked devices, everyone pays handsomely

With international pre-orders now being taken, more data plan details have started emerging for Apple's iPad. We now know that Rogers will be charging Canadians pretty similarly to how AT&T treats American 3G users, albeit with the inclusion of a 5GB monthly data cap on the pricier tariff. O2 has also outed its plans, though it's not much better news in the UK where it's matching Orange's pricing with a 3GB monthly allowance for £15 per month ($22), while Vodafone has completely lost its marbles with a 250MB offers a 1GB option costing £10 a month and 5GB costing £25 per month. Apple engages in a bit of false advertising in Germany, claiming unlimited data plans with O2 (€25) and Vodafone (€29.95), but there are clear limits set out on the carriers' sites of 5GB and 3GB per month, respectively.

Finally, Japan gets the stiffest deal of all with iPads there officially confirmed to be SIM-locked to Softbank Mobile's network, something that has already earned plenty of ire from the local populace. The carrier does offer a variety of monthly payment plans for obtaining your tablet, though its data tariffs are nothing special: ¥2,910 ($32) for a month's unlimited use if you sign up to what seems like a longer-term plan, or ¥4,410 ($48) for a 1GB allowance if you go pre-paid. There's a third option for spendthrifts, costing ¥1,510 ($16) for 100MB pre-paid, but that's not even enough for you to watch a full Engadget Show, so we'd probably advise against it. You can find price breakdowns for each country after the break.

Update : Rogers has killed that lovely third option shown in the image above. Hope you weren't excited about it.

CNBLUE’s new track Love Light unveiled!

Even though CNBLUE’s leader Jung Yonghwa was diagnosed with vocal cord nodule last month, it was reported that CNBLUE’s comeback date would still proceed as scheduled.

Today, CNBLUE’s track titled Love Light (사랑 빛) from their upcoming second mini-album Bluelove has finally been revealed!

Love Light, a track composed by Jung Yonghwa himself, is evidently more mellow than the group’s debut song I’m A Loner.

Let’s hope there will be no plagiarism controversy surrounding Love Light because it sounds like an instant hit for the coming season! I can envision the song being played to death at all the local Starbucks stores.

Sandra Bullock Steps Out for First Time Since Adoption Announcement

How did Sandra Bullock spend her first Mother's Day as a mom?

She and newly adopted 3 1/2-month-old boy son Louis visited an art gallery in the French Quarter of New Orleans, Louisiana (see photo, left).

The 46-year-old actress -- who filed for divorce from Jesse James Apr. 23 after he cheated on her -- has been laying low ever since she announced she had adopted.

Why did she stay silent so long about adopting?

From a mom and baby bonding perspective, "it was common sense," her friend and former assistant Mark Brunetz, who was privy to the adoption, tells Us Weekly. "There's an integration process."

Bullock’s control issues also played a role. In fact, Brunetz says the fiercely private actress — who had guests at her 2005 wedding sign what a source calls "mile-long" confidentiality agreements — masterminded the plan. "She wanted to be in charge of how the news got out," Brunetz tells Us. "She is not the While You Were Sleeping girl next door. She's savvy."

She managed to keep the baby a secret with the help of her trusted inner circle -- including George Lopez, her sister Gesine Prado and stepkids Chandler, 15, Jesse Jr., 12, and Sunny, 6.

Kendra Wilkinson Sex Tape Features “Multiple Partners”

When it rains, it pours: The sex tape at the center of a legal battle between former Playboy pinup Kendra Wilkinson and the porn purveyors at Vivid Entertainment reportedly features that busty blonde making sexy times with multiple men.

Sucia! What in the name of Kat Stacks kind of foolery is this?

Wilkinson — a newlywed mother of one — is desperately trying to prevent the release of a sex tape filmed when she was 19 years old, but it turns out she already tried to peddle the footage herself last year, shortly before her marriage to NFL player Hank Baskett.

Kendra Exposed, which Vivid producers describe as a “well-produced, hardcore” celebrity sex tape, is still set for release later this month.

Sony VAIO P Series gets an accelerometer, touchpad starts at $799

Well, we did have some strong evidence to suggest that Sony was planning a design update to its VAIO P Series, but there happens to be a lot more than fresh aesthetics going on with the new 8-inch lappie. Sure, it gets a new matte lid that's available in five different shades, but Sony has also updated the 1.3-pound P Series with an optical touchpad and accelerometer. The former is built into the LCD bezel and, as the picture above shows, is all about navigating the desktop by just holding the screen – the pad is on the right bezel while the right / left mouse buttons are on the left. The accelerometer is probably the most interesting addition – you can flip the device vertically to read documents, but also tilt it to the left or right to move forward or backward while surfing the web. Pretty cool stuff, and there's even more: it's been given a faster Intel Atom Z560 processor option, though the entry-level unit has a slightly-slower Z530 CPU. Still waiting for US pricing to see if Sony can tempt us with its notoriously expensive VAIO P when it begins shipping in June. We'll have a piping hot review of the new VAIO P coming up later this morning. So, will you hit the break for the official PR, or just wait for the review? Decisions, decisions.

The U.S. has finally released its PR. The VAIO P will start at $799 stateside, though that includes the 1.6GHz Atom Z530 processor, and not the newer Z560 upgrade. That's an $100 price drop, but still too much if you ask us.

Steve Jobs: iPad Printing Will Come

Señor Jobs says iPad printing will come. Well, the question wasn't if it would come or not. The question was "when the hell is it coming" and the answer is "not soon enough, Steve".

Male version Fan Bing Bing's pre-surgery photo shocking

Mainland star Fan Bing Bing was earlier voted as the winner for "China's Top 50 Beautiful People", showing her popularity in China. Due to her popularity, a contestant on "Xing Guang Da Hui" named Kong Ming has become an object of discussion due to his feminine features and is nicknamed "Male version Fang Bing Bing." However, during the 2nd round of competition on May 8th, he was surprisingly voted off; to make matters worse for this "male Fan Bing Bing", word began to spread on the internet that "his Bing Bing face was attained through plastic surgery." And, the photos that they supply to support their stance are quite shocking.

"Male Fang Bing Bing" Kong Ming stressed that he hated being the "country edition" after he became famous, and hoped that he could return to his original self during competition. However, after the Bing Bing-like makeup came off, he returned to being a normal man. In the first round on May 1st, Kong Ming was given the "X" by four out of five judges, and on the second round on May 8th, he was criticized by Kay Huang, "Your breath isn't stable enough, and you are not on beat," which led to his ultimate demise.

Interests over Lee Hyori’s 6-packs, “beasty girl?”

Lee Hyori shows off a powerful performance and also her toned build in blonde hair and tank top for the performance of her 4th album title song ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’.

Even though Lee Hyori is more often known for her voluptuous build, her ‘luxurious abs’ have attracted much more attention during her recent performances. Especially under the lighting effects on the stage, her six-packs are even more highlighted in front of the audiences.

Many netizens have recently posted up captures of Lee Hyori’s performances on portal sites with comments, “I know now is the time of the beastly male idols, but this is six packs!”, “This is the Lee Hyori who manages her body well no doubt!”, “How much do I have to exercise to look like her?” etc.
