Jennifer Aniston: If I used a sperm donor, I'd want to know who he was

In her new movie, The Switch, Jennifer Aniston plays a wannabe mother who undergoes artificial insemination, using what she believes is the perfect donor's sperm, to get pregnant.

And when it comes to off screen it seems Aniston would allow life to imitate art, insisting that if she ever went that route she too would definitely 'wanna know the guy'.

Aniston revealed her preference during an appearance on Jay Leno's Tonight Show, last night in Los Angeles.

The 41-year-old was on the show to promote The Switch as well as talk about her new perfume, Jennifer Aniston.

She also dished on her worst job ever from which she got fired - being a bike messenger in New York City, and her favourite food - three cheese thin-crust pizza, with shiitake mushrooms and peperoni.

Dinner for Schmucks' and 'Cats & Dogs' sequel vie for box office dollars

With a plethora of options at the box office this weekend, you can’t say Hollywood isn’t giving you some variety. Unfortunately, none of the options are likely to be massive blockbusters, and Inception is sure to land on top of the heap again. Paramount will unveil Jay Roach’s (Meet the Parents) latest comedic effort Dinner For Schmucks starring Steve Carell and Paul Rudd. The film had a lengthy battle to the big screen, but the producers’ tenacity will mean little for its opening weekend. In contrast, Warner Bros. is reviving a franchise that I’m not sure audiences were clamoring for. The original Cats & Dogs opened to $21 million back in 2001, but who was begging them to reunite, in any place other than a backyard? And the third movie out to lure in audiences is Charlie St. Cloud, the supernatural drama that Zac Efron chose over the Footloose remake. Will the decision pay off? We’ll find out. Read on for my predictions.

More 'American Idol' Shakeups: Kara DioGuardi Fired?

Less than a day after Ellen DeGeneres announced her 'American Idol' departure, TMZ is reporting Kara DioGuardi has "been fired," citing sources connected with the show's negotiations for next season, which will mark the singing competition's tenth installment.

"We're told the show will be going back to a three-judge format and assuming all deals are finalized, the judge's panel will consist of Randy Jackson, Jennifer Lopez and Steven Tyler," TMZ writes, adding that Kara's only chance at staying on 'Idol' is "if the J-Lo deal falls apart -- but we're told that deal is done."

The 39-year-old singer-songwriter joined 'Idol' just two seasons ago, shaking up the hit show's three-judge format. Ellen DeGeneres' departure comes after just one season.

Samsung i917 Cetus will run Windows Phone 7

You'd probably assume that Samsung would have a difficult time overshadowing the Galaxy S right now, but all it really takes is a salacious Bluetooth SIG entry that leaves only the most important parts to the imagination. We've known for some time now that Sammy would be one of Microsoft's closest Windows Phone 7 launch partners, and we've even taken the time to toy with a prototype earlier in the year. But a new Bluetooth certification is now all-but-confirming a name: Cetus. The SGH-i917 is apt to be North America's first WP7 device from Samsung, a 4-inch smartphone with an 800 x 480 AMOLED display, 5 megapixel camera, a VGA front-facing camera, an FM radio tuner, inbuilt GPS, 802.11b/g/n WiFi, USB 2.0 and of course, Bluetooth. As for pricing, availability and form factor? "Not yet."

The first picture of the Samsung tablet in the wild

Just a few hours ago Samsung reconfirmed that they are working on a tablet device and will release it this quarter. If it will be called Galaxy Tab is still unknown. Pretty much the only things that are known at this point are that it will run some version of Android (probably 2.2) and have a 7″ touchscreen.

Other than that, there’s still no new info, no launch date, no pricing, nothing except this intriguing picture that just popped up:

And, if reports are to be believed, what that man is holding is actually Samsung’s first Android tablet. Here’s a close-up:

Zac Efron vs. Robert Pattinson: Who'll Be the Leading Leading Man?

In one corner: Zac Efron. In another corner: Robert Pattinson. The thing that's got them both cornered: Their respective teen-idol status.

Pattinson tried to knock his way out with Remember Me. Efron gives it his shot this weekend with Charlie St. Cloud.

Who'll break out first? Let's take some guesses (in diplomatic alphabetical order):

Efron Wins! "If he plays his cards right, he could easily be the next Leonardo DiCaprio," says tween-marketing specialist Ashley Dos Santos.

In addition to possessing the ability to inspire killer soundbites (like the one above), Efron can memorably model swim trunks, honorably acquit himself in an art-house movie (Me and Orson Welles), and credibly, and non-sleezily, talk strip clubs with Jimmy Kimmel. In other words, the 22-year-old is a credit to his own peer group.

Orlando Bloom Confirms That Miranda Kerr Is Pregnant (Kinda)

They managed to keep their wedding hush hush, and now it looks like Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr are holding out on another big secret: A baby!

While the newlyweds have refused to comment on whether or not their nuptials were of the shotgun variety (ie” Miranda’s got a bun in the oven), Orlando accidentally let some vital info slip while the couple were on their honeymoon just recently, if Daily Mail tattletales are to be believed.

During their stay on the Caribbean island of Anguilla this month, Orlando “kept apologizing for Miranda being grumpy,” squeals one hotel employee. “He said she wasn’t well as she was pregnant.”

Guess we’ll find out soon enough if that’s true…A girl as skinny as our Miranda can’t keep a baby belly hidden for long!

Ellen DeGeneres leaves 'American Idol'; Will Fox name a replacement Monday?

Fox announced today that Ellen DeGeneres has decided to step down from her role as a judge on American Idol. DeGeneres joined the panel in its ninth season. The network released this statement today: “A couple months ago, I let Fox and the American Idol producers know that this didn’t feel like the right fit for me,” said DeGeneres. “I told them I wouldn’t leave them in a bind and that I would hold off on doing anything until they were able to figure out where they wanted to take the panel next. It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for. I also realized this season that while I love discovering, supporting and nurturing young talent, it was hard for me to judge people and sometimes hurt their feelings. I loved the experience working on IDOL and I am very grateful for the year I had. I am a huge fan of the show and will continue to be.”

Fox released a statement of its own: “We love Ellen and understand and support her decision to bow out of Idol,” said Peter Rice, Chairman of Entertainment, Fox Networks Group. “We were fortunate to receive the humor, energy and love for talent that she brought to the show.” Added Idol creator Simon Fuller in a statement: “I loved Ellen’s passion for the artists and her nurturing skills. She brought honesty and optimism to our judging panel and I will miss her greatly.”

Source: Jennifer Lopez to Become Judge on American Idol

Is Jennifer Lopez adding a new job to her resume?

An industry source tells PEOPLE that the singer-actress has closed a deal to become a permanent judge on American Idol‘s season 10. “It’s true,” says one insider. “She’s excited about it.”

The news comes the same day that Ellen DeGeneres announced she was stepping down from her position as Idol‘s newest judge. The talk show host announced her departure, saying, “It was a difficult decision to make, but my work schedule became more than I bargained for.”

According to another source, Lopez’s longtime manager, Benny Medina, orchestrated the deal. Lopez, 41, mom of twins Max and Emme, will join judges Randy Jackson and Kara DioGuardi on the panel. She previously served as a guest mentor to contestants in 2007.

Simon Cowell also announced his departure from the show earlier this year.

Fox has not officially announced any replacements for Cowell or DeGeneres, and had no comment about whether Lopez would be joining the show.

Deadline Hollywood first reported the news.

Paris Hilton actually does some work as she halts her holiday partying to shoot her music video in Ibiza

She's spent the past few weeks being the lady of luxurious leisure as she parties her way round Europe.

But yesterday, Paris actually knuckled down and did some work as she filmed her music video in Ibiza.

However, it wasn't exactly a day's hard graft for the pampered heiress who got to dance around in the sun a bright pink swimsuit all day.

Paris, 29, was shooting a video for her new single, taken from her upcoming second album, which has yet to be named.

She showed off her slender figure in the cutaway swimsuit, which she teamed with matching heels and blue-rimmed sunglasses.

And by all accounts, Paris had a great time shooting the video, in which she is surrounded by scantily-clad female dancers.

Microsoft's Windows Phone 7 potential marketing pitch: 'I'm a phone too'

Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer gave analysts a glimpse at the software giant’s potential marketing around Windows Phone 7. The plan: Let Windows Phone 7 ride shotgun with Windows 7. The possible punchline: “I’m a phone too.”

Here’s a slide from Ballmer’s presentation:

Will this pitch work? Ballmer thinks the ‘I’m a phone too’ line certainly won’t hurt. He said:

I think it’s probably fair to say we have a lot of work to do and all not going to happen over night. The opportunity to do interesting work, differentiated work, to build marketshare, it is actually pretty good in the phone space right now.

Google hopes to make $10 billion per year thanks to Android

At the moment, Google may not make too much money from Android, but the Mountain View-based company seems to have big plans for the near future.

Talking to The Wall Street Journal, Google’s CEO Eric Schmidt said that the company “is positioning itself to earn $10 billion or more per year in the mobile device business.”

Schmidt says that this would be possible with 1 billion people using Android phones. Money won’t come from Android itself (the OS is free and open source, as you probably already know), but from preinstalled services that are ad-supported (Web search, maps and so on).

Ballmer says Microsoft at work to rival iPad

Acknowledging Apple's early success with the iPad, Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer insisted Thursday that the software maker is hard at work on Windows-based tablets.

"They'll be shipping as soon as they are ready," Ballmer said, offering few details on the products, which he said will come from partners, not Microsoft itself. "It is job one urgency. No one is sleeping at the switch."

Speaking to financial analysts, Ballmer said the goal is "not just to deliver products, but to deliver products that people want to buy."

As for Apple and the iPad, Ballmer said, "they've sold certainly more than I'd like them to have sold."

But he added that Microsoft has a lot of software knowledge and intellectual property from the decade it has spent in the tablet business. He said the task Microsoft faces is similar to the early days of the Netbook, when many of those machines were Linux-based. "We have got to make things happen," he said. "We're in the process of doing that as we speak. We're working with our hardware partners. We're tuning Windows 7."

Jay and Show face off

The two stars took part in a charity basketball match in opposing team, and Jay’s team came out on top

They are kings of the stage but in the court, it's no longer a one-man show

Taiwanese princes of pop Jay Chou and Show Luo participated in a basketball match organized by basketball star Yao Ming. The match is part of the Yao Foundation Charity Tour to raise funds.

In one of the segments in the basketball event, celebrities take on a shooting contest: for every basket made within 24 seconds, TWD 10,000 (about S$500) will be donated to the Yao Foundation.

Jay was the first to go to the line and the usually-composed star quipped that he felt "more nervous than singing in a concert".

SS501 to turn into SS301?

Following confirmation about Kim Hyun Joong leaving DSP Entertainment for Keyeast, more information regarding SS501’s future have been revealed today.

It’s been revealed that fellow SS501 member Park Jung Min will also leave DSP Entertainment, possibly SS501 as well, to pursue his acting career with another management agency.

It is now looking like SS501 will now turn into SS301, a group consisting of Kim Hyung Joon, Kim Kyu Jong and Heo Young Saeng that promoted during 2008 with U R Man.

It’s known that while Park Jung Min is showing interest in pursuing his acting career, the rest of the three members are prefering to stay as a group rather than having solo careers although they are also looking for a new agency.

Vicki Zhao: It will be a pity if I don't perform

The actress refutes rumours that she is back in showbiz for the cash

It's not for the money.

Or that's what Vicki Zhao claims.

The China-based actress had a brief stay in Singapore during her pregnancy - which was also where she gave birth to her daughter - to avoid media scrutiny.

After giving birth, the star was back in action, appearing at product launches and various events.

Due to this, rumours have been rife that Vicki has been working furiously as her husband, tycoon Huang You-long has dumped her.

Vicki was in Beijing as a product ambassador where she refuted the rumours.

"I'm not taking up any movie deals with Stephen Chow, neither am I filming Painted Skin 2. I do not wish to take on any more period movies."

For her future plans, Vicki revealed that she will be filming a new movie in two months' time and may be involved in movie directing in the future. She will also be on the panel of judges for the upcoming China Changchun Film Festival.

Wahlberg gets Walk of Fame star

Comedian Will Ferrell poked fun at Mark Wahlberg as he was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame - by pretending to confuse him with fellow action man Matt Damon.

Wahlberg was presented with the 2,414th star on the famous Hollywood Boulevard on Thursday in recognition of his longstanding career as a rapper, underwear model, actor and producer.

His The Other Guys co-star Ferrell was on hand to provide the chuckles at the ceremony when he jokingly praised Wahlberg for Damon's hit Jason Bourne franchise.

He told the audience, "I'm glad to be here. I first became a fan of Mark's when I bought his workout video. And I love all your Bourne movies."

'Angelina' Tell-All Paints Shocking Picture of Jolie's Troubled Childhood

Angelina Jolie has lived a life of contradictions. Now a goodwill ambassador and one of the world's most celebrated actresses, she's blessed with six beautiful children (and one Brad Pitt), but she was once also a heroin addict from a shattered home who went on to steal other women's husbands. This -- and so much more -- according to the forthcoming bombshell tell-all about the actress, 'Angelina: An Unauthorized Biography,' by the master of such celebrity dirt-fests, Andrew Morton.

Leaked excerpts from the book are fueling so much hype that publisher St. Martin's Press has moved up its release date from Aug. 3 to July 31, says USA Today.

Critics cite the lurid details of the 35-year-old star's childhood as the most compelling morsels Morton throws his readers.

An affair Jolie's famous father Jon Voight had with starlet Stacey Pickren when Jolie was only a few months old tore apart her family life and set her on a path of teenage rebellion, according to the book.

Her mother Marcheline Bertrand moved out of the posh Beverly Hills high-rise where baby Angelina lived with her dad and was taken care of by nannies. A bitter Bertrand rarely came to see her daughter during the first year of her life because Jolie reminded her too much of her philandering husband, Morton says.

Fox News: Apple Is The New Religion And The Pope Is Scared

Jesus. Maybe literally.

Fox News has a long and illustrious history of saying some fairly outrageous things. A story today on FoxNews.com may be one of the best yet — certainly from a tech perspective.

The post entitled “For Apple Followers, It’s a Matter of Faith, Academics Say” argues that while people may joke about Apple being a religion (JesusPhone, etc), to some, it may actually be a religion. Better, they wonder if Apple shouldn’t pursue that path. Here’s Fox News’ keys as to why Apple is similar to a religion:
  • Apple’s creation story epitomizes the humble garage origin of its technology — not unlike the humble manger of Jesus’ birth.
  • Apple CEO Steve Jobs is perceived as a messianic leader who was fired but rose again to save the company.
  • Apple has traditionally had an evil archenemy, the Devil, as represented first by Microsoft and now by Google.

Microsoft slates IE9 beta for September

Exec spells out beta ship date, but company mum on final schedule

MIcrosoft will ship a beta of Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) in September, a company executive said today.

If the timeline is accurate, the IE9 beta release will come a month later than earlier speculation, which had settled on August, a pick based in large part on PowerPoint slides purportedly from a Microsoft presentation that focused on Windows 8, the next iteration of the company's OS.

Today, Kevin Turner, Microsoft's chief operating officer, said that IE9 would reach beta this fall. "We're really excited about IE9, which will be beta and coming out in September," said Turner during the company's annual day-long presentation to Wall Street analysts.

Turner also boasted of Internet Explorer's recent turnaround, claiming that it had gained usage share the last two months.

Google’s Mobile Search Market Share: An Estimated, Whopping 98.29%

How’s this for absolutely dominating an increasingly lucrative and fast-growing segment?

Google currently boasts a mobile search market share of 98.29%, with it closest competitor Yahoo taking up just over 0.8% of market share and Microsoft’s Bing barely touching even half that, according to recent data from StatCounter as relayed by Pingdom.

This graph, made by Pingdom, puts it all in perspective:

As you can tell from the graph, put together using global visitor stats for more than three million websites, Google’s near-100% piece of the mobile search pie is even a good deal larger than their still impressive share of the overall search engine market. Note that the red bars represent non-mobile search market share, not a combination of both.

As for Yahoo, Bing, and the ‘others’ – good luck taking on Google on that front.

Listen to Big Bang’s Beautiful Hangover

A few days ago we reported that Big Bang would release their 5th Japanese singles album titled “Beautiful Hangover” on August 25th. Well it seems Big Bang performed this upcoming single at their recent Mezamashi Live performance.

This performance was recently broadcast on FUJI TV and you can listen to the upcoming song below.

Jessica Hsuan and Bobby Au-Yeung: Naturally Inseparatable

Bobby Au-Yeung and Jessica Hsuan is a subtle pair: one is always in rush, but the other is slow-tempered. They work in harmony with each other and are good partners at work, even becoming good friends. After many years of working together, there is no doubt at their chemistry during work. Bobby's "quality," made Jessica to remove her "alert" and exposed her true self, in fact she is just a silly girl. From their conversation with laughs, it shows the understanding between partners, and also concerns between friends.

Before interview started, Jessica advised shooting photos with Bobby first. She had her foresight, because laughing during the 1-hour interview would ruin her make-up, and it won't be easy to re-apply.

Before "A Pillowcase of Mystery II," the two collaborated in "File of Justice," "A Recipe For the Heart," "Prosecution to a Witness," and "Dicey Business" etc. Jessica is Bobby's appointed partner. Originally she doesn't want to work in the summer, but producer lured her with "good partner," plus Bobby invited her personally, she agreed in the end.

EVO 4G getting Android 2.2 this weekend?

Engadget is reporting that HTC EVO 4G owners may be getting Android Deuce Deuce as soon as this weekend. The blog received a whole heap of Sprint corporate slides that detail a launch plan; the plan includes an official announcement scheduled for tomorrow and code rollout beginning on August 1st. The slides also detail tons of improvements made to the phone’s software, some of which include: improved 720p video recording, Flash 10.1 support, 4-point orientation rotation, alpha-numeric pins for device unlock, and the ability to use the LED-flash as a flashlight. Who’s excited?

Motorola Droid 2 User Manual confirms Android 2.2 Froyo?

Why hello, Motorola Droid 2 User Guide, we’ve been expecting you – especially since you seem to confirm that the Droid 2 will have Android 2.2 Froyo at launch.

The User Guide shows the Droid 2 having the Froyo Google search menu (see the third photo below), so I’d say there are very slim chances for the smartphone not to be shipped with the latest version of Android.

Another thing that’s apparently confirmed is the presence of the same MotoBlur skin featured on the Droid X, and the Swype-powered virtual keyboard.

Witnesses Saw Mel Gibson Hit Oksana Grigorieva

Did Mel Gibson attack Oksana Grigorieva physically?

The actor and his attorneys have not said a word about the infamous tapes, which makes sense. It's pretty clearly him on the phone, and there's no explaining away remarks such as "You should just say you're sorry and BLOW ME!!!!!!"

But he's adamantly denied any violence, and his fans have accused Oksana of being a gold-digging liar. Might there be witnesses who saw it, however?

According to TMZ, sources connected to Oksana Grigorieva say "third party witnesses" will tell L.A. County Sheriff's investigators they saw Mel Gibson punch her in the face January 6 during a heated altercation at her home.

This is the same alleged fight that they appear to reference in some of the tapes, and that she Oksana emailed her attorney about just hours after.

'Avatar' Star Zoe Saldana Not Tangled Up in Blue in Revealing Calvin Klein Ads

'Avatar' star Zoe Saldana reveals plenty more than she did on Pandora in this trio of just-released images from the Fall 2010 line. Saldana wears Calvin Klein's Envy bra, which is part of the company's new Coverage Level System.

In the Saldana ads (via our pals at StyleList), shot by Mikael Jansson in New York, Saldana wears different styles of bras from the Envy collection, the skimpiest of the three coverage levels, which makes sense given her smaller bust size and the fact that the more flesh we see of Saldana's, the better sales are going to be for CK.

The other two levels of coverage are dubbed Perfectly Fit, which provides mid-level coverage, and Seductive Comfort, which offers the highest level of coverage and support due to a larger cup, as well as thicker straps and band.

Nintendo 3DS Availability and Price Will be Announced on September 29th, Nintendo Announces

This is a good way to start your Nintendo news for the day. In a move that may seem confusing to some, Nintendo has come forward today and made an official announcement regarding the Nintendo 3DS — the new, handheld video game console that features glasses-free 3D technology. While there’s been plenty of rumors about when it’s coming out, with plenty of strange confirmations from Nintendo themselves (that were subsequently pulled from the record), it looks like Nintendo’s getting ready to announce the pricing and release date. Ready enough to announce that their ready, anyway.

Apple's Magic Trackpad gets the iFixit teardown treatment, nothing terribly magical found

Well, we knew it wouldn't take very long, and it didn't: iFixit's gotten its hands on Apple's Magic Trackpad and ripped it to shreds. This is one operation they're not shy about calling delicate, folks -- this thing is seriously thin and its components packed in quite lovingly. So what's going on in there? Well, besides the magical dust, they found a Broadcom BCM2042 chip, which is the same one the Magic Mouse uses for Bluetooth connectivity, and a Broadcom BCM5974 touchscreen controller chip, which also powers the iPhone and iPod touch. There is plenty to be seen in the photos at the source, and there's one more below.

YouTube makes your fifteen minutes of fame 15 minutes

Long-video makers can rejoice, as YouTube has extended the allotted time of user uploads from 10 to 15 minutes.

According to a Thursday post on YouTube's blog, increasing the limit was the most requested feature by YouTube users, though it had to be put on hold while the company worked on other projects and behind-the-scenes infrastructure. In March, for instance, the company announced that 24 hours of video was uploaded every minute. That's up from around six hours just three years ago. Given the new limit, that's a metric that's likely to keep on growing.

When YouTube first launched in 2005, users could actually upload clips that were longer than 10 minutes, though without limits it was easy to upload full-length, copyrighted content. YouTube responded by creating the limit, as well as adding new account types like "director," "comedian," "musician," and "guru," which would require a few extra steps of registration, but remove the time limit altogether. The rest of the YouTube population simply got around the limits by splitting up shows into 10-minute chunks, which would work until YouTube's content filters flagged it as a violation.

Leehom Wang’s new album delayed till Aug. 13th

Remember when Heartbeat was delayed for 3 months? No surprise here, even the Music Man himself said he was busy finishing the album last week on chat night. Leehom Wang’s new album 18 Martial Arts was scheduled for release on July 30th, but it has been pushed back to August 13th (for now), which is the same day when his movie Love in Disguise hits theaters. As a show of gratitude for the fans’ patience, his record company announced the preorder version will include an additional set of postcards from the movie.

Leehom visited Hitfm on the 28th to promote his album as the Hito star of August. The “18 Martial Arts” singer demonstrated the art of cooking by making sunny-side up eggs. Apparently, cooking is not one of the 18 arts he has mastered, as Chef Leehom was caught for his overly generous use of oil and soy sauce. DJ Ah Juan joked that she might need to go on kidney dialysis after the taste test, but she gave him high praises anyway in the end.

The couple kissed deeply and flaunted their wedding rings. Afterwards, they entered the venue and the wedding party officially started. Daniel booked a bi-level venue, with the top level offering a stage for friends’ to perform.

Raymond Lam COME 2 ME BEAUTY LIVE ON STAGE CONCERT Coverage, [Concert Dates: 27,28,29,30]

The night before, Raymond lam opened the first show of his 4 show concert, inviting Kelly Chen, Kate Tsui, Wong Cho Lam and Ron Ng as his guests. He also had several sexy female dancers around him, making the fangirls in the audience scream in jealousy. During the encore, the organizers broadcast Raymond's MV with the 15 Miss Hong Kong contestants. During the part of the MV when the contestants' numbers were shown, the audience area was not affected and continued to enjoy the MV.

After, Raymond accepted an interview backstage, he also announced that his new album reached platinum album sales. He exposed himself that he's bad at remembering lyrics, the captions machine encountered some problems during the concert, he teased himself saying that he's "second headmaster." Speaking of the Miss HK getting booed, Raymond expressed: "I onlt heard loud sounds. (Consider cutting that part?) Ask the producer, but then I don't have anough time to change my costumes?" Reporters insisted on the question and asked 3 times again, Raymond begged for mercy: "Don't force me, I didn't watch the clip. (Especially filmed for the concert?) I think so, it's broadcast for the first time. (It has all the contestants' numbers and names in it!) Really? Then when I appeared in the MV, did they show my name?"
