J.Lo Still Hoping for a Glee Guest Spot

Hope is not lost for fans of Glee and Jennifer Lopez! The Back-up Plan star is still lobbying for a guest role on FOX’s hit musical comedy.

When asked by Ellen DeGeneres on her talk show about the rumors that she’ll do the show, Lopez says, “I sat down with [show creator] Ryan Murphy and we talked me doing something on Glee. We want to. We want to do it,” though timing may be an issue. “They have it all mapped out for the next like eight episodes,” she says, “whatever is airing right now. So he’s like let’s wait and do it really right when you do come on.”

Murphy has said he’d like Lopez to play a cafeteria lady at McKinley High. And the character would get a makeover from Chris Colfer‘s character Kurt, the actor has said.

Lopez says she’s game — and willing to wait her turn.

“I was like, ‘Yeah, yeah whatever. I’m a huge fan,’ ” she says in the interview set to air on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Friday. “Whenever you want. I’m good. I kind of offered myself up.”

Charlie Sheen and Wife Brooke Split

After months of legal drama, rehab, bad disguises, buzz cuts and tabloid headlines, Charlie Sheen and Brooke Mueller have split.

"Charlie has returned to old habits," a source close to the Mueller family exclusively tells E! News. "Brooke has moved out of their family home. Brooke and Charlie still talk, but they don't see each other."

Despite reports that Sheen moved back into his house with an escort, in turn prompting Mueller to leave, the source says that scenario is "totally false."

"Charlie is still in rehab," the insider explains. "He isn't living at home right now."

There was no immediate comment from Mueller's attorney on the marital turmoil. However, Sheen's publicist, Stan Rosenfield, disputed the family source's contention, telling E! News the information is "not true" without elaboration.

Google to iPhone users: No free navigation for you!

Earlier this morning we told you that the iPhone was getting Google Navigation, thanks to the fine folks over at Mountain View. Well, apparently that’s not what Google meant at all. In a pretty stern approach, a Google spokesperson has come forward and blatantly said that the iPhone will not be getting the Navigation feature.

According to PC World, Google has kept their promise to bring Google Navigation to other platforms, but that the iPhone Operating System is not included on that list. And while it’s great that Google has given its free Maps Navigation to UK-based customers (whether you’re on Android 1.6 or later), it doesn’t look like iPhone users are going to be getting any of the free turn-by-turn goodness any time soon. If at all. The Google spokesperson went as far as to say that they had never said iPhone OS was included from the get-go, but that they did say it was coming to other platforms in the future.

Santa Clara County police now looking into the lost iPhone prototype

About eighteen seconds after word got out that a prototype of Apple’s next iPhone had been lost, found, and then subsequently sold to Gizmodo (for somewhere around $5,000), commenters and pundits everywhere started asking: is all this legal? There are a bunch of complicated laws involving the ownership and selling of lost goods — not to mention lost top-secret intellectual property — and this iPhone seemed to be sitting in a pretty nasty gray area.

Turns out, the people of the Internets aren’t the only ones interested — the Santa Clara County police are curious, as well.

The folks at CNET spoke to a source at the Santa Clara Police department, who said that a “computer crime task force led by the Santa Clara County district attorney’s office” is now investigating the matter.

It’s not at all clear who (if anyone) they’re aiming the law hammer at, be it the gent who found the prototype for turning around and selling it, or Gizmodo for buying it. Either way, things get even more complex when you bring in the First Amendment and freedom of the press; what if Giz won’t reveal who sold them the iPhone? Is that protecting a source, or some sort of crazy mixed up obstruction of justice?

Watch Adam Lambert Perform "Music Again"

Adam Lambert did not bring any lasers to the 2010 GLAAD Media Awards on April 17.

But the singer did bring his typical energy, talent and overall entertaining self to the event. He performed a rendition of "Music Again" that you can enjoy below:

The single is courtesy of the star's debut album, "For Your Entertainment." So is "Fever," which Adam also rocked out to at the event.

Kim Kardashian Makes Like a "Modern Day Barbie"

In October 2009, Kim Kardashian dressed up like Barbie for a strange photo shoot with Kurv.

It was an unusual sight, and not just because the reality star's breasts were mostly covered up.

Now, Kim has made like the world's most famous plastic doll again, referring to her new Famous Cupcakes campaign as her "modern day Barbie look" in a recent blog entry.

Microsoft Windows Phone 7 Xbox Live Integration Part of a Managed Portfolio

Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 is doing a pretty good job of maintaining itself in the market, even if it is still months away before a launch. But, with videos like the one we saw earlier today, showcasing the Office Hub, how could it not be? This time around we don’t have a video, but we do have some more information pertaining to the Xbox LIVE experience you should expect this holiday season on your handset.

Andre Vrignaud is Microsoft’s Director of Games Platform Strategy, and he has recently illuminated some details about how the game selection is going to take place in the Xbox LIVE Marketplace. First and foremost, he wants to make sure that people understand that the system is going to work much in the same way that the system works for the Xbox LIVE Arcade titles selection process. The company has a managed portfolio, and they want to make sure that they do not saturate the market, and therefore negatively impact the products therein.

Will iPhone 4's Audio and Video Chat Finally Break the Voice Calling Scam?

A front-facing iPhone camera means video calling, but it's also a sign of something bigger. Combined with other recent leaks, it means that Apple is bringing iChat to the iPhone. Everything about voice calling may be about to change.

iChat, You Chat

So, how does the appearance of a front-facing camera change standard voice calling? Let's connect the dots:

• Front-facing camera means video calling
• Leaks suggest video calling is part of overall iChat
• iChat software and new VOIP provisions in OS means voice chat, too (maybe even for older iPhones)
• iChat branding, arrival of iPad and new OS multitasking all suggest compatibility with desktop app and standard buddy lists
• iPhone-to-desktop compatibility means everybody talks to everybody, no special plans needed

Eddie Peng refuses Jolin's invitation to dance

Popular idol drama actor, Eddie Peng began his fight into the music business yesterday by formally releasing this first single EP Must Love. His management company, avex, spent an enormous amount of money for promotions. Besides reserving an entire MRT (subway) car, they also held a grand press conference yesterday. For the first time, Eddie performed his powerful song, showing the strength of this dancing taught by a famous Japanese teacher.

After the dance, Eddie Peng admitted that he had been a bit nervous because besides dancing in night clubs with friends when he was studying in Canada, he rarely had the opportunity to dance in the past few years. Yesterday many artistes sent congratulatory flowers to him. Jolin Tsai wrote on her card, "Eddie Peng, let's go discoing together." In regards to Jolin's dance invitation, Eddie said laughingly, "It'll be hard with me being busy with album promotions. She is too awesome, how can I dare to dance in her presence?"

Meanwhile, he was also asked about his complexion during the interview and his answer was, “I lost weight on my face.”

"Idol Gives Back" raises almost $45 million for charity

This year's "Idol Gives Back" television special raised almost $45 million for children's, hunger and health charities in the United States and Africa, organizers said on Friday.

Sir Elton John, Alicia Keys and Carrie Underwood were among the stars who performed in Wednesday's live special event organized by the producers of top-rated singing contest "American Idol."

Two previous editions of "Idol Gives Back" in 2007 and 2008 raised a total of around $140 million from audience and corporate donations.

Some 18.3 million Americans watched Wednesday's show on Fox television, which was scaled down partly because of the U.S. economic recession, and expectations were lower. The $45 million is expected to rise when proceeds from iTunes sales are added, Fox said.

Quality of HK Dramas affected by production methods?

The "2009 Television Program Appreciation Index Survey" ranked TVB hit drama series "Rosy Business" at number one. With news programs generally taking the top spot, the fact that a TV drama series beat out all other HK produced programs to make its way to the top of the survey is no easy feat – though it’s not the first time. Similar to the situation with ratings, 80-90% of the drama series produced in HK are from TVB; ATV has practically stopped producing series, i-Cable as well as now-TV are not involved with series production, and RTHK’s series are more documentary style and not geared toward mainstream audience entertainment.

At one point in time, HK drama series – like HK films – were popular all throughout Asia. They didn’t just ‘entertain’ HK audiences, but also international audiences as well, which created a lucrative overseas sales base. During its peak, TVB once had a special line dedicated to producing series that were exclusively for overseas sales and that HK audiences may never get to watch on regular TV – so it can be seen how huge the demand was for this at that time.

Is Windows 7 finally halting the Mac migration?

Earnings information released by Microsoft yesterday point to there being a huge resurgence of interest in Windows 7, outpacing consumer interesting in Apple’s Mac platform. Is this a temporary blip, or is Microsoft back in fighting form?

Todd Bishop of TechFlash combs through the details:

In the financial data accompanying its earnings release, Microsoft said worldwide Windows consumer licenses grew by more than 35 percent in the recent quarter. By comparison, Apple this week reported an increase of 33 percent in Mac sales over roughly the same time period. That was impressive, too, of course, but Microsoft is growing from a significantly larger base of sales to begin with, making its higher growth rate considerably harder to achieve.

Palm Shake-Up Imminent, Rubinstein May Be Out

Palm right now is a disaster. Its sales are going nowhere, its market share is plummeting, and try as it might, it can’t even find a buyer. Industry sources tell us that a major restructuring and management shakeup is imminent and CEO Jon Rubinstein may be replaced.

This is still a rumor at this point, but it makes sense. Palm is suffering from a ton of unsold inventory, and it cannot keep up with Apple, Android, or Blackberry in the smartphone wars. Palm clearly needs to be bought at this point if it is going to survive, and Rubinstein may not be the right person to make that sale. Rubinstein came from Apple, where he was head of hardware. He was recruited by Palm’s biggest investor Elevation Partners. Rubinstein is great engineer, but not a great marketer. It appears he is having trouble selling Palm, even as a distressed asset.

Android Market clears the 50,000 app mark, says AndroLib

Google has never been too inclined to give the world the straight dope on total app counts in the Android Market, but other companies -- notably AndroLib -- have been happy to try to pick up the slack. The app tracking site now reports a grand total of 50,031 approved binaries as of this writing, marking a pretty magical milestone in light of the Market's humble beginnings as a free-only cache of a handful of apps for the G1. To be fair, AndroLib is aggregating across all of the Market's regional sites -- you won't find 50,000 apps in any one Market alone -- but it's undoubtedly a solid sign for the platform. Now we just need a little Froyo to go with that, right?

Apple channels Google, Microsoft to attract developers

Is Apple joining the "Don't be evil" brigade?

I can't help but ask after reading Apple's attack on Adobe's Flash for being "closed and proprietary," while dressing itself up as the openness prom queen because of its support for HTML5, JavaScript, and other industry standards.

Flash may be closed and proprietary, but Apple is hardly the patron saint of openness. Nor has it ever seemed to care much about pretending to be anything other than religiously devoted to a beautiful consumer experience, regardless of open standards, open source, open anything.

What has changed? Developers. Lots of them.

Apple is seeing the "light of openness" now that it increasingly must cater to external developers. For years Apple was able to live within its shell, serving a narrow world of devoted consumers and a very limited circle of developers.

Oprah Show releases “Eclipse” trailer online earlier than expected

U.S. Twilight Saga fans have been counting down the hours until The Oprah Show airs on their local stations. Yet, this morning, a previously unseen high quality (HQ) “Eclipse” trailer became available on Oprah’s web site.

Earlier this week, I speculated on whether the new trailer would go far enough in teasing fans with foreshadowing what scenes and critical moments the film has in store. It didn’t go as far as I’d hoped but it’s markedly different from what we’ve seen before.

'I don't like being cute': Hayden Panettiere trades in her all-American blonde locks for a drastic cropped hairstyle

Hayden Panettiere debuted a dramatic short cut and a new colour in LA last night

The 20-year-old showed off the haircut as she attended the Global Home Tree Earth Day reception hosted by Avatar director James Cameron at the Nokia Theatre.

In a vast change to her usual long locks, Panettiere sported a cropped hairdo, slicked back with a quiff and sideburns.

Windows Phone 7 Office functionality gets new video demo

Windows Mobile always felt like a business smartphone platform with – later on, at least – consumer-focused extras bolted on. When Microsoft announced Windows Phone 7 earlier this year, however, the new smartphone OS felt like a consumer platform with a few vague nods to business use. Now, thanks to the latest WP7 emulator build, we’ve got a better idea of how Office Hub functionality will work on the upcoming handsets.

There’s obviously the ability to open and make basic edits to documents, but more interesting is how the smartphone OS links into enterprise stores like SharePoint to access communal documentation. Of course, we’d still reach for our notebook if we wanted to do any heavy lifting, but all of a sudden the QWERTY ‘board on the leaked Dell Lightning is looking a whole lot more tempting.

Google Maps Navigation headed to iPhone & other platforms

The launch of Google Maps Navigation on UK Android 1.6 and 2.x handsets this week could be just the beginning of the software’s spread, according to the company’s spokespersons. They confirmed that Google intends to push the free turn-by-turn app to other platforms, including Apple’s iPhone OS, though they declined to give a definitive timescale for the launch. Hugo Barra, director of mobile products at Google, described the navigation market as having “been stagnant for a while” and in need of Google’s “innovating”.

Google also confirmed that the Maps Navigation does not require a constant data connection throughout the journey, instead pre-caching the entire route when initially calculated. Of course, if you then deviate from the route, the handset will need to pull down new mapping data. ”It needs a data connection when you ask for navigation,” said Mobile Maps product manager Steve Lee,”but while driving to your destination, if you intermittently lose the connection, it will still carry on. As long as you stay on the route.”

After School’s Bang! accused of choreographic plagiarism

8-member girl group After School recently made their comeback with Bang!, garnering much interest for their novel concept and catchy song. As always with After School, their choreography, which retains power yet sexy, is considered a high priority among others.

However, it has become clear that their comeback song isn’t the only thing creating a buzz as the choreography for Bang!–five seconds of it, to be precise–has been accused of choreographic plagiarism.

It has drawn the attention of Camillo Lauricella, a dancer and choreographer located in Germany, that a dance number he, along with Nika Kljun, created was stolen.

Over 200 artists record for Qinghai Earthquake Charity Concert theme song

Artists taking action on fundraisers for the disaster relieve have initiated mass response. Last night, over 200 artists gathered at the recording studio for the Qinghai Earthquake Charity Concert theme song. Many artists put out their generous hearts contributing money and physical effort for the victims in crisis. Joey Yung and Kelly Chen alone donated 100,000 yuan and encouraged their fans to take action for charity.

Joey expressed that at the end of the month, she would be taking a break and head out to Mainland to treat her hoarse voice. She will be getting acupuncture treatment in Mainland. However, if necessary she has intentions in taking her vacation to visit the disaster areas. The night before, while Joey and Twins were on <JSG>, they revealed that they just donated 100,000 yuan. Kelly made her donation under the name "Lau Family". She expressed that 7 years ago when she visited Qinghai, she established a charity foundation and built 30 schools since then. Also, the organizers sent out Nick Cheung and Max Mok earlier to visit and record clips on the local disaster areas.

Britney Spears No Longer Allowed To Leave House Without Bra

Britney Spears’ overbearing father has banned the pop star from leaving her Los Angeles home without a bra, The Sun claimed in a report on Friday.

Former chef Jamie Spears – who has legal control over all Spears’ affairs – fears his troubled daughter is getting close to the brink again and has imposed a host of new rules on the “Womanizer” singer to help keep her in line. First order of business: “Put a bra on.”

Bombshell McGee Offers 'Woman-to-Woman' Talk To Sandra Bullock

Michelle "Bombshell" McGee, arguably the most outspoken of Jesse James' alleged mistresses, has made an offer we're pretty sure Sandra Bullock can refuse: the model tells Life & Style, "I'm not begging for anyone's forgiveness, but if Sandra would like to have a woman-to-woman talk, I would be open to it."

"I would like to sit down with Sandra and speak one-on-one," she says. "I'd let her ask me questions, and I would be honest and open with her about the affair. If that would help her heal, I would do it."

It's a slight change of tune for McGee, who did "beg forgiveness" only a week ago. McGee appeared on Australian TV show 'Today Tonight,' speaking out for the first time on television about her affair with James, saying, "Sandra, I'm sorry for your embarrassment ... I'm sorry all this is public. I'm sorry for everything."

McGee said that Bullock deserved "a heartfelt apology" -- but stressed that James is really the one to blame in this situation.

Google Nexus One to get Wi-Fi 801.11n soon (maybe with the Android 2.2 upgrade)

Launched back in January with Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g on board, the Google Nexus One will apparently get Wi-Fi 801.11n pretty soon.

In fact, the Broadcom Wi-Fi chip included in the Nexus One already supports 801.11n, although this feature was not enabled by Google.

Wi-Fi 801.11n is significantly better than the other Wi-Fi specifications, as it allows data transfer speeds of up to 600Mbps (as opposed to only 54Mbps).

Google might enable Wi-Fi 801.11n on the Nexus One once Android 2.2 is out – which may happen in the next few months.

A Nexus One owner has already managed to get 801.11n on its smartphone, thanks to some updated drivers from Broadcom. A video with the Nexus One rocking Wi-Fi 801.11n can be watched below:

HTC decides against bidding for Palm, kills our buzz

Don't tell us we didn't try. In spite of all our pleading for HTC to acquire the troubled Palm, Inc. and produce a sparkling union of awesome, Reuters is this morning reporting that the Taiwanese hardware manufacturer has decided against the idea. According to an internal source, there "just weren't enough synergies to take the deal forward." Then again, this conclusion was reached after HTC reviewed Palm's numbers, so maybe that's just a nice way of saying that Palm's financials are worse than we might think. We're also told that now only Lenovo remains as a serious contender out of Asia, following the stalling of talks between Huawei and Rubinstein's crew. Such a deal would make plenty of sense given Lenovo's cash reserves and mobile aspirations, but it'd be nowhere near as exciting for our geeky imaginations.

Lee Hyori on new MV, “Since I did not have any concept in mind, I went for the alien concept”

Lee Hyori talks about the MV for her comeback song ‘Chitty Chitty Bang Bang’ off her 4th album ‘H-Logic’.

Lee Hyori was recently featured for an interview on ‘Section TV Entertainment’ while she was filming for a jeans photoshoot. When asked about the unique concept of ‘the queen from outer space’ for her MV, Lee Hyori said, “Because I did not have any particular concept in mind, I went for the alien concept.”

She added, “So many singers have covered so many different concepts. So I thought I could try transforming as the queen from outer space.”

No Surprise: 3D Takes a Toll on PS3 Resolution and Framerates

Whatever Sony's promises may have been regarding stereoscopic 3D performance on the PS3, we're going to get what we get. And so far, that's 1080p content at 60fps (2D) turning into 720p content at 30fps (3D).

(Yes, I'm confusing things a bit by calling Hz measurements fps when technically there are two 3D frames for every one 2D frame. But the point is, gamers will see 30fps worth of smoothness, not 60.)

The game serving as our case study is Wipeout HD—one of the few PS3 titles that was rendered in native 1080p/60fps in the first place. Even this title, backed heavily by Sony itself, has to scale things back big time to run in 3D.

Robert Pattinson Says He Has No Time For His Music

Twilight actor Robert Pattinson says that his acting career is not allowing him to focus on his music.

He says that he loves to play music but due to all his acting gigs he has little time to dedicate to it.

“I haven’t been able to do my music for ages,” he said. “I can’t concentrate on two things at once. I don’t even listen to music when I’m working on a movie.”

He is currently working on his new movie entitled Bel Ami, and the third Twilight film, Eclipse, is due out in July.

South Park Creators: You Bleeped Us, You Bastards!

Matt Stone and Trey Parker want us to remember that they're not the ones owned by Viacom.

The South Park creators said today that they had nothing to do with Comedy Central's decision to bleep out the parts of Wednesday's business-as-usual, aka controversial, episode, which included one of their signature depictions of a religious figure, this time the Islamic prophet Mohammad.

But according to Stone and Parker, the network went a little overboard with the bleeping.

"In the 14 years we've been doing South Park, we have never done a show that we couldn't stand behind," the regular line-crossers said in a joint statement.

ASUS Eee Pad launch at Computex; on market end of July 2010

Apple’s iPad may have reached the market first, but ASUS and MSI are hot on their heels. ASUS chairman Jerry Shen has confirmed that the ASUS Eee Pad, the company’s Android-based tablet, will make its press debut at Computex 2010 in early June, with a commercial launch in Q3 2010 (more specifically, late July, at least according to component makers). Meanwhile, MSI are also ramping up to launch their tablet, the M Pad, in Q3, though they’re apparently watching to see response to the Eee Pad before deciding on precise shipments and marketing.

The ASUS Eee Pad will be based on NVIDIA’s Tegra chipset, and have features including USB connectivity, an integrated webcam and Adobe Flash support. Shih says the company have also “strengthened” the tablet’s industrial design, in response to feedback regarding the iPad.

Only 64 JooJoo tablets sold?

Fusion Garage’s JooJoo tablet wasn’t exactly the storming success the company might have hoped for, and finally shipping only days in advance of the iPad going on sale certainly didn’t help matters. So just how many JooJoo tablets were sold? Going by a shoddily constructed email that looks to have gone out to all of the company’s customers, the total could be just 64.

UneasySilence got their hands on a Fusion Garage email asking customers for feedback on the tablet, but the support staff responsible for writing it used the “To:” field rather than the “BCC:” one. That mean that all the owners could see each other’s addresses (blanked out for privacy’s sake in the image above) and, more importantly, they could be counted.
