Nokia World isn’t the only thing going on in London today. Conveniently, HTC has scheduled a press conference in the very same city at the very same time. HTC used this London-based press conference to announce two new Android handsets, the Desire HD and the Desire Z.

You asked for it, so here it is: the iPhone 4's retina display versus a prototype Nokia E7 with new AMOLED Clear Black Display in direct sunlight. With both displays set to 100 percent brightness, we'd say that the EPD had a very very slight edge as it offered the best visibility under the most extreme viewing angles. Having said that, both are equally uncomfortable to use in extreme sunlight, even as that's defined on a cloudless morning in London. Feast on the gallery below and video after the break to see the two under a variety of viewing angles.

If Samsung were to sell the Galaxy Tab in the US converting straight from the UK price listed by Amazon (doubtful, but stick with me...), it would cost $1,240. That's in the same ballpark as Amazon Germany's price.
While we're still waiting to see if AT&T scoops up the Galaxy Tab for subsidized contracts, Amazon UK's £799 price tag is not making us confident Samsung's tablet will be any cheaper than the iPad. UK online retailer Clove has listed the Galaxy Tab at £615 ($955), which is more sensible, but still far too much for the 7-inch Android tablet.

After many days of fierce competition, Shanghai Oriental Broadcast Company and Shanghai's Communications Broadcasting hosted the finale for Shanghai's "Street Angel" news anchor competition on September 12. As the spokesperson for the competition, HK artist Charlene Choi made the special trip to arrive on scene at the finale to perform the event's theme song "Love Will Fight to Win" to encourage contestants. When Ah Sa arrived on stage, she was met with a 'hot' welcome from the audience and fans.
"Legend of the White Snake" has recently started filming several days ago. Ah Sa has accepted the director Tony Ching Siu-Tung's invitation to film the role of the Green Snake, while the White Snake will be portrayed by Eva Huang. In regards to the Green Snake which has previously been portrayed by many actresses, Ah Sa does not feel too much pressure. Ah Sa expressed that the Green Snake is not the female lead in the movie, it is a secondary role, but the cast and production team has interested her greatly. "This is my first time working with Eva Huang, there is a very fresh feeling." The other two male actors in the film have also led Charlene to greatly look forward to filming. "This time I also get to work with an old friend again, who's Raymond Lam (he portrays the role of the scholar). I'm very happy that Jet Li will be playing the role of Fahai (the evil monk) - he is my idol!" Mentioning Charlene's idol Jet Li, Ah Sa immediately had a smile stretch across her face, again expressing how she is full of anticipation for this new movie.

On September 15th, Hangeng released his new MV, “Queen“, which features impressive robotic dancing and a sunglasses show.
“Queen” is the music video that Hangeng spent the most amount of time on. The whole filming process took longer than two months, and had footages from both Korea and China. To maximize quality, Hangeng had gone as long as two days without any sleep, and in the end, even the dancers threw up from fatigue.

Earlier this year, Big Bang fans were treated to the news of Daesung’s participation in a new drama titled, “What’s Up”. Well, it looks like the drama is well on its way, as a promotional picture of the funny and adorable Daesung has just been unofficially released.
Earlier today, a YG Entertainment trainer, who goes by the Twitter username of Hwangssabu, tweeted, “Big Bang’s secret weapon,” along with a photo of Daesung. But surprise surprise! It looks like Daesung buffed up since we last saw him!

With her new supersonic breast implants, keeping a tiny strapless bikini in place was always going to be a tough task.
And it's something Heidi Montag found out to her cost when one of her pneumatic breasts nearly escaped from her top as she splashed around in the Costa Rican surf.
The 25-year-old star looked vaguely horrified at her bikini malfunction as she frantically tried to keep things covered up.

Jennifer Lopez has officially signed on as the newest judge on 'American Idol,' and executives are convinced that negative stories are being deliberately planted about her in an effort to sabotage the diva before the show even begins. FOX insiders are insisting that the nasty leaks about Jennifer's diva behavior are all untrue and blaming shows in direct competition for all the bad buzz.
"This is a genius move by 'Idol's' public relations machine," an insider tells me. "They are taking all the attention of what a nightmare J.Lo is to work with and focusing attention on those other nasty shows. Now, everyone is guessing who is trying to ruin J.Lo rather than talking about the notoriously difficult diva."
So who is telling the truth? Is J.Lo a sweet girl-next-door who is easy to work with or is Jenny from the Block really as demanding as the rumors suggest?

Twitter on Tuesday unveiled a major redesign of its home page, one its executives say will give users a better, easier, and faster experience.
Though site redesigns are often underwhelming, the new Twitter.com is tantamount to a fundamental relaunch of the popular microblogging service's Web-based interface, mainly because it introduces a new interface build around a second viewing pane in which users will be able to see all kinds of content--from photos and videos to user profiles to geolocation information and more.
Twitter CEO Evan Williams said that the new version of the site (see video below) is available to some users immediately, while others will see it implemented in the coming weeks.

Today, Best Buy announced that they would be expanding the availability of Apple’s iPad to all its U.S. retail store locations beginning on September 26th. The retail giant will carry both the Wi-Fi and 3G models in over 1,000 stores as well as online.
“Technology is becoming more and more personal, and our customers say they really value visiting a Best Buy store to touch and try the iPad for themselves,” said Wendy Fritz, senior vice president of computing at Best Buy. “We’re delighted that we’ll soon make that opportunity available to everyone who’d like to come see us, and experience this device in any Best Buy store nationwide.”
The iPad will carry the same price tag as it does in Apple’s retail stores. The news comes just days after BB announced it would also be carrying Amazon’s Kindle ereader in time for the holiday season.

Lately, Rainie Yang has gained a bit of weight from all the snacking during the filming for her new drama, “Sunshine Angel”. Although Rainie admits that she is not the slimmest person, her co-star Wu Chun responded without thinking, “Yeah, you’re pretty ‘round’ (chubby).” Rainie immediately said not once, but twice, “In the 26 years of my life, no one has ever said that I’m ‘round’!” Wu Chun apologized right away, but it was obviously too late.
Wu Chun eats with his own menu and has a set of workouts that he does; Rainie makes fun and even calls him, “Instructor Wu.” Rainie reveals that she feels pressured even when eating alongside him.

Multiple Verizon Wireless sources of ours are confirming this, and we just had an image sent over to us — the Samsung Galaxy Tab, getting announced for carrier partnerships on Thursday, just got confirmed internally. We know the run down on the specs, but here is a recap:
- Android 2.2
- Adobe Flash 10.1 support
- 7 inch touch screen
- 3 megapixel camera
- Wi-Fi
- GPS
- CDMA EVDO Rev. A
Samsung is holding their event on Thursday, and we’ll be sure to bring that news to you when it breaks. Now, you know we have to ask… are you on board for a Tab, or trying to hold out for that Motorola Android 3.0 tablet that the general public hasn’t seen yet?
Although Yahoo still leads Bing in most measures of search market share, Microsoft's search engine has passed up Yahoo, according to one tracking firm.
Nielsen, which says its numbers reflect only queries typed into a search box, has Bing at 13.9 percent, just ahead of Yahoo's 13.1 percent. Google is still the dominant market leader with roughly 65 percent of the market.
In the past year, Yahoo has seen its share slip 2.9 percentage points, while Microsoft's search engine has gained 3.2 percentage points. Google is little changed from a year earlier. And of course, with a search deal going into effect last month, Bing is now powering Yahoo's search results in the U.S.
"Nielsen's search data only counts genuine intentional searches that people type into a search box," the company noted in a statement accompanying the August figures. "It does not include non-intended or 'contextual' searches that are automatically generated by search engines based on a person's browsing behavior."

Girl group 2NE1 has sold 100,000 copies of their first full album in just five days.
On September 14th, YG Entertainment stated, “After confirming with Mnet Media, the distributors of 2NE1’s first full album, they stated today (14th) that we have sold over 100,000 copies. If this trend continues, we will have sold well over 150,000 copies by the end of the month.”
In regards to the Hanteo Charts reporting that 2NE1’s album has sold only 21,000 copies as of September 12th, YG responded, “We have sold a lot of albums through our own online store, ‘YG e-Shop‘. In regards to the difference in methods of counting sale aggregates, we did nothing more or less than to fully state our distributor’s total aggregate of album sales.”

Boy, did Dell show off the craziest device on stage at Intel IDF 2010. What started as a tablet device converted to a netbook just by opening to the keyboard and literally swiveling the screen from within the frame. This hybrid'sIt's got a 10-inch screen, houses a dual-core Atom N550 and runs Windows 7 Premium and should ship by the end of this year. And if it looks at all familiar, that's because we saw something eerily similar in a leak from April (hello, Sparta). Two more shots of its transformation after the break.

Most probably, this is just unfounded gossip, but Bloomberg is reporting on a story about Steve Jobs getting stopped at the Kansai Airport last July, after security found ninja stars in his carry-on luggage. He got pissed-off, they say. Updated.
This is where I tell you that he took out his Hattori Hanzō sword and killed everyone in the airport lobby, running away with the shurikens in his Quinjet. But according to Bloomberg's translation of the Japanese tabloid SPA! magazine, this is what happened:

Tucked away at one corner of the Intel Developer Forum Technology Showcase area is Korea-based company Ocosmos. Never heard of the brand? You're not alone, but the company's product, scheduled to be showcased at Wednesday's IDF keynote, is generating quite a buzz . We're talking about the OCS 1--a handheld gaming device based on the Oak Trail mobile CPU which runs the full Windows 7 operating system.
According to the company's representative, the OCS 1 is primarily designed as a portable gaming and entertainment device, but there are plans to embed a 3G or even an LTE radio in the future. Its selling point is that it can run both online and offline games such as Starcraft II and World of Warcraft along with 3D development tools. In a nutshell, you're looking at a full-fledged PC OS on a mobile device.

Tomorrow morning at 7am EST HTC will unwrap its new phones for Europe, and going by the mysterious invitation they sent out last month, we can expect something in the Desire family.
The word on the street is that we'll see at least the Desire Z in the flesh tomorrow, and possibly the Desire HD as well. The Desire Z is said to be the slide-out QWERTY keyboard model very similar to the G2, and the Desire HD a greater-specced version of the Desire, which launched in Europe (and in the US on US Cellular) this year.
We'll be there snapping the phones in all their glory, so if you've been salivating after T-Mobile's G2 and wondering when your country is going to get some new HTC goods, you know where to look tomorrow.
