Carrier customization on Windows Phone 7 demoed by Telstra

Telstra was among the mobile carriers that supported Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 from the day the new OS was announced. And it will probably be the first to introduce WP7 devices in Australia.
The carrier has uploaded a video via its official YouTube channel, which shows that it will customize its Windows Phone 7 devices a bit.
Telstra has added its own TelstraOne hub to WP7’s hubs (social networking, games, music and video etc). The TelstraOne hub “will provide customers with fast, simple and graphic-rich access to unmetered news, weather and sport content.”
As you can see in the video below, Telstra’s hub looks as if it was part of WP7 from the beginning – so the customization lies not in the fact that the aspect of WP7 is changed, but in the fact that a new way of accessing and gathering information was added.
Telstra will launch its first Windows Phone 7 devices before the end of 2010. There’s no exact release date, but October or November could be the months when WP7 debuts in Australia.
