Heath Ledger Cameo In Next “Batman” Movie?

Christopher Nolan is reportedly considering using previously unseen footage of Heath Ledger in the new Batman movie.

Ledger, who died of a prescription drug overdose in Jan. 2008, became only the second person in history to win a posthumous Oscar for his supporting role as Joker in The Dark Knight. Ledger’s portrayal has gone down in history as one of the most intense depictions of a character ever portrayed on the silver screen.

“The idea is to use these fragments of cut scenes and use CGI to have The Joker appear one last time,” a source close to production told The Daily Mail explained. “Chris wants some continuity between movies and for the franchise to pay tribute to Heath and his portrayal of the Joker.”

In related news: The Dark Knight Rises, the third installment of the popular franchise, will likely be Christian Bale’s last as Caped Crusader Bruce Wayne. Bale played Batman Nolan’s blockbusters Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

“The thing is that this will be, I believe, unless Chris says different, this will be the last time I’m playing Batman,” Bale told E! News last month.

The Dark Knight Rises reportedly begins filming in May.
