Lady Gaga caused quite a stir yesterday when she flashed a one-finger salute to fans and cameras at the New York Mets game. Turns out, she was sitting in Jerry Seinfeld's vacant luxury box when she did it. Oops!
EOnline reports that Lady Gaga asked to be relocated from her seats right behind home plate, saying she was feeling camera shy. The Mets PR team put her in an empty VIP box-which just happened to be owned by Seinfeld. Within minutes of being settling in to the nicer digs, the underwear-clad singer starting giving the finger.
The Mets are pretty embarrassed about the whole incident and issued an apology to Seinfeld. The statement said, "We deeply regret that Jerry Seinfeld has been associated with this matter and have apologized to him. The use of Jerry Seinfeld's suite was unauthorized and unknown to him at the time. We made a quick decision to place Lady Gaga and her group in a private suite because of issues related to her visit."
Seinfeld showed he wasn't too upset when his spokesperson told RadarOnline, "The Seinfelds take an optimistic view of Lady Gaga's gesture as a sign that she wants the Mets to be in first place as badly as they do."
