He has performed many of his own stunts on the big screen, so it was only natural that he brought some of the action from his fast-paced movies into the real world.
Actor Jason Statham showed off his diving skills on holiday in St Barts this weekend, when he lept from the top deck of a yacht into the glistening blue sea.
The 37-year-old British star has been spending time away aboard Harvey Weinstein's multi-million pound boat with his girlfriend Alex Zosman and fellow Hollywood star Orlando Bloom and his partner Miranda Kerr.
Watched by his bikini-clad girlfriend, Statham, dived from around 25ft off the top deck of the huge yacht into the sea.
The action-movie star was a member of the British diving team for 12 years - finishing 12th in the 1992 world championships - and appeared completely unfazed by the huge leap, later enjoying some downtime in a jacuzzi.
Statham, who shot to fame after appearing in Guy Ritchie's Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels, performs most of his own stunts.
The action star once said he felt obligated to do his own stunts after jumping at the chance to get involved when he first began acting.
He said: 'I've sort of dug my own grave there. It was a stupid thing for me to say years ago, "Yeah, I'll do all my own stunts." Then it became, "Oh, dear. I suppose I've got to do it again now."
'So now I do have to keep proving to myself and people that it is me in the middle of the action. And I have a long catalogue of injuries that I won't bore you with to prove it.'
Meanwhile, Bloom and his girlfriend - Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr - relaxed aboard the boat, soaking up the Caribbean sun and pampering Kerr's pooch, Frankie.
The couple attended a star-studded New Year's Eve party thrown by Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich last week.
Said to have cost £3million, other guests at the event included Lindsay Lohan, Gwen Stefani and Beyonce.
