Ke$ha Leads U.S. Pop Singles Chart for Second Week
Rookie pop singer Ke$ha leads Billboard's Hot 100 singles chart for a second week with "TiK ToK" while setting the record for most single-week downloads by a female artist (610,000).
The prior mark was set by Lady Gaga's "Just Dance" (419,000) exactly a year ago. Gaga surpasses that sum as well with "Bad Romance" selling 445,000 downloads this week, good enough for No. 3.
Iyaz's "Replay" jumped two places to No. 2. Former No. 1 "Fireflies" by Owl City rebounded one to No. 4, while recent chart-topper "Empire State of Mind" by Jay-Z + Alicia Keys fell three to No. 5.
Jason Derulo's "Whatcha Say" (No. 6) and Jay Sean's "Down" (No. 7) each moved up a slot. Miley Cyrus' "Party in the U.S.A." returned to the top 10 after a six-week break, soaring 11 places to No. 8. "Sexy Chick" by David Guetta featuring Akon slid three to No. 9. "Do You Remember," featuring Sean Paul & Lil Jon, jumped four places to a new high of No. 10, breaking a three-week streak of no titles moving into the top 10.
Disney starlet Selena Gomez enjoyed some holiday download benefits as she and her accompanying band The Scene scored the chart's top debut at No. 39 with "Naturally." They also re-entered the Hot 100 at No. 92 with "Falling Down."
