Lindsay Lohan “SNL” Host? Lohan In Talks To Host “Saturday Night Live” Dec. 4

Could a hosting stint on Saturday Night Live be the key to career resurgence for scandal-prone actress Lindsay Lohan? Hey, it worked for Betty White!

Lohan is in chats to host SNL on Dec. 4, a tipster familiar with the deal squealed to The New York Daily News on Monday. LiLo has hosted the show twice previously — once at the pinnacle of her fame in 2004 and again in 2006. If the deal goes through, Lindsay’s latest gig as host of NBC’s long-running sketch comedy show would come at the end of a three year downward spiral for the star, characterized by addiction, multiple trips to rehab, and a stint behind bars.

Nonetheless, flanked by Britney Spears’ former manager — Larry Rudolph — Lohan is hitting the ground heels first in a bid to salvage what’s left of her floundering career as a Hollywood starlet. The move comes just a day after Linds proved that she’s open to poking fun at her fall from grace. In the opening sketch for Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards a jovial Lindsay surprised host Chelsea Handler in the hall before the show and promptly poked fun at her own personal problems — even cracking a joke about Chelsea’s SCRAM bracelet and checking her cup for booze before sending the comedienne on her way with a big slap on the bottom for good luck.

It was Rudolph who organized the appearance and he tells Access Hollywood that he has faith in his newest celebrity screwup client.

“Lindsay is a triple threat, she’s super smart, super talented and she’s a superstar. She’s been through a lot at a very young age and is in a very good place right now. I believe in her.”

Live from 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live kicks off its 37th season on Sept. 25.
