Hong Kong actress Charmaine Sheh has little interest in taking home the Best Actress Award at the annual TVB Anniversary Awards ceremony. She said that she has no intentions of vying for the coveted title this year. She even announced her decision to reduce her work in TV drama series to only 60 episodes a year.Despite this, Charmaine's earnings have not dropped. In fact, she racked in S$2.4 million last year to become TVB's highest-earning artiste, overtaking Bernice Liu who came in tops in both 2006 and 2007. With a four-month break from work this year, it is reported that a large portion of Charmaine's earnings came from her advertisement deals in both Hong Kong and China.
According to Hong Kong news reports, the actress earned S$3.31 million between the period from November 15 last year to November 15 this year. Fellow TVB artiste Raymond Lam comes close behind to be the second highest-earning celebrity in the station earning S$3.12 million this year.
