Google’s Nexus One to be sold starting January 5?

I’m sure you’ve already noticed how everyone’s talking about the Google Phone aka Nexus One these last few days. We’ve already heard that the smartphone might be available starting January 2010, and it looks like it will happen very early in January.

According to a brief report found at Reuters, a source familiar with the matter says that the Nexus One may be on sale directly from Google (most probably unlocked) as soon as January 5. Unfortunately, there’s no word yet on the smartphone’s price.

The same source mentions that T-Mobile USA will also offer the Nexus One (on contract) – this kind of confirming the previously-heard rumors.

Of course, we can’t be sure of anything until Google officially announces the Nexus One – let’s hope it won’t be long until this happens.

Whether or not Google plans to offer its own Android 2.1 handset outside the US is still a mystery for now.

Manufactured by HTC, the Nexus One reportedly features a 3.7 inch WVGA display, a new UI with 3D elements, a 5MP camera and lots of Google services (including Google Navigation and Google Goggles).
