BoA wins award at Billboard Japan’s first awards show

International / K-pop star BoA won an award on January 31st at the first Billboard Japan Music Awards. She was awarded the “U.S. Billboard’s Publisher’s Award 2009” along with Judith Hill.

As well as winning the award, BoA also performed her new single ‘Possibility’ with Miura Diachi. ‘Possibility’ is the title track off of BoA’s upcoming Japanese album ‘IDENTITY,’ which is scheduled to be released on the 10th of February.

Here’s BoA and Miura Diachi’s performance of ‘Possibility’ at the Billboard Japan Music Awards. (Note: there’s a little flub in the beginning of the performance, due to the band’s error. They played the song from the middle instead of the beginning. If you wish to skip the mix-up in the beginning, jump to 2:35 on the vid.):

BoA has been staying busy, working on her Japanese tour, titled the “BoA LIVE TOUR 2010.” BoA’s tour begins on February 17th in Kobe, Japan and ends on April 15th in Tokyo, Japan.

Your guess is as good as mine on what a “U.S. Billboard Publisher’s Award” exactly is, but Japan loves BoA so much that I’m sure they would give her an award for almost anything. They might as well of titled the award as: “Cutest pocket-sized Kpop star that we throw untold amounts of Japanese yen at because we want her to stay in Japan so we can keep her all to ourselves, MUAHAHAHA, Award.” I really can’t blame them though. BoA has the talent of “eating up” grabbing the attention, and not letting go, of whomever happens to witness her star power.
