Close source denies Vicky Zhao Wei pregnancy report
FILM director Daniel Lee Yan-gong has denied a newspaper report over his statement confirming the pregnancy of Chinese actress Vicky Zhao Wei.
Lee said he was misinterpreted by the media.
In the news report, Lee was quoted as saying: "As good friends, we should give her (Zhao) more privacy. On this matter, we are by her side. Everyone wants to see the birth of their own child."
He was reported making the statement during a promotional tour of his latest movie 14 Blades at Chengdu, China last Friday.
Four days later during another tour in Xian, Lee made a clarification over the matter, Ming Bao reported.
He said the "child" in his statement was referring to 14 Blades.
"My full sentence was 'The movie is to be released immediately, everyone wants to see the birth of their own child'," he said.
Zhao, the lead actress in the movie, was absent from the event.
She had not made any public apperances since Dec 4 last year and this had led the media to continue believing that she is pregnant.
