Nick Jonas believes that showing his girl a good time doesn't mean taking her on a fancy and expensive night out on the town.
Because the only clubs he seems to prefer are nine irons, drivers and putters.
Nick, the youngest member of US pop sensation Jonas Brothers, took Wizards of Waverly Place actress Selena Gomez on a sensible and grown-up day out on a golf course in Los Angeles yesterday.
The pair, both 17, were all smiles as they were snapped arriving at the green afternoon in dazzling Californian sunshine.
Pushing their golf trolleys - hers in pink, his in blue - the 17-year-olds soon got settled as they found their place to tee off from.
And they looked like they were having a whale of a time as they laughed and joked and ran after their balls.
Nick and Selena, were first romantically linked in the summer of 2008.
Nick had a two-year relationship with singer Miley Cyrus which ended in 2007, but they are still reportedly good friends.
Something that Nick and Selena insist is all they are after they were spotted out together on several occasions.
Selena said she was hurt by the gossip and said she gets 'protective' when people talk about her and her friends.
And Nick also denied they were an item but said at the same time he was 'flattered' by them.
Meanwhile, his older brother Joe, 20, was also being romantically linked to British teen Pixie Lott, 19, after they were spotted spending time together in Los Angeles.
They met at the MTV Europe Music Awards in Berlin in November and have enjoyed each other's company since but Pixie insisted this weekend that they are just friends.
She said: 'We're only working together. He's a great guy but nothing's happening at the moment. I'm still very much single.'
And Nick also denied they were an item but said at the same time he was 'flattered' by them.
