Sacha Baron Cohen and fiancée Isla Fisher draw a veil over talk of wedding

Borat star Sacha Baron Cohen and his Australian fiancee, actress Isla Fisher, could be planning to tie the knot this month after one of the longest engagements in Hollywood.

There is speculation they are planning to get married on February 26 - to coincide with the Jewish festival of Purim, although the couple are keeping details of the day under wraps until the last minute.

They have sent out notices to 80 guests telling them to keep February 26 free and have reserved several venues to ensure that the event remains top-secret.

The couple are currently in Britain and I'm told they have yet to make a final decision on a venue. They have made a number of enquiries and bookings using assumed names.

'Sacha and Isla are throwing a party. They have asked everyone to come in fancy dress,' says a source. 'They haven't told the guests it's a wedding but that's what we all suspect.'

Last night a spokesman for Baron Cohen, 38, insisted the pair had no plans to wed, while Isla's publicist declined to comment.

The couple, who have been together for eight years and have a twoyearold daughter, Olive, were due to wed in August 2006 in Italy, but they called it off because Isla, 34, had not completed her Judaism studies.

'It's taken ages for Isla to convert but she was happy to do so for Sacha,' adds the source.

Sacha's mother Danielle is said to be delighted that Isla has converted to Judaism and taken the Hebrew name Ayala.

The Ali G star is sparing no expense and has allocated a budget of £40,000 for the occasion, planned for the day after the Feast of Esther, a traditional day of fasting in the Jewish calendar.
