“Bridget Jones” TV Show
Bridget Jones’s Diary, the British novel that spawned a film franchise starring actress Renee Zellweger, is being adapted into a TV spinoff for NBC, The Guardian reports.
Sources say the 2001 romantic comedy and its 2004 follow-up (Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason) are being reworked for the small screen through a new development deal between NBC Universal and Working Title. The two production companies plan to eventually rework a number of films from the Working Title’s library of over 90 British theatrical releases – which includes Four Weddings and A Funeral, Billy Elliot, Notting Hill, and Nanny McPhee.
