Good grief — it’s the blind leading the blind!Lindsay Lohan is getting some assistance in her bid to stay clean and sober from a most unlikely source: frenemy Paris Hilton.
Word on the Curb has it that P.H. has mended her tumultuous friendship with the big screen “Mean Girl,” appointed herself LiLo’s unofficial sober buddy, and is determined to help the actress pick up the pieces of her life.
A tabloid spy spills: “Paris is worried that Lindsay has hit rock bottom and doesn’t want something terrible to happen to her. She wants to put the past behind them. Paris texted Lindsay, and they’ve talked. Both she and Paris promised to make a fresh start.”
Paris and Lindsay famously fell out several years ago, after Lohan began spending time with Paris’s best friend, Nicole Richie. The Hilton heiress was reportedly “furious” with Lindsay for “stealing” her BF. In the years since their friendship unraveled, Lindsay has been arrested twice for DUI, completed two stints in rehab, and continued to battle rumors that her bank account is running on empty. More recently, the former Disney starlet has been banned from drinking alcohol by mandate of a Los Angeles court, fitted with an alcohol-monitoring device, and forced to submit to weekly drug testing.
Paris understands what Lindsay is going through, a mole dishes on the pages of the June 21 issue of The National Enquirer. After all, the 29-year-old socialite spent 23 days in jail back in 2007 for violating the probation that stemmed from her own collar on DUI charges. Pals say Paris would hate to see a similar fate befall Lindsay:
“She’s been to jail and wants Lindsay to get help before she ends up there or somewhere worse.”
