Wonder Girls & 2PM tear up California for Wonder World Tour!
The first leg of the Wonder World Tour may be over now, but the Wonder Girls and 2PM made sure to wrap it up with a bang – after roaming the East Coast, Chicago and Texas, the JYPE idol caravan finally made it to California this past weekend, hitting up Los Angeles, Anaheim and San Francisco!
There are a few things that you can only understand when you’re actually present at an event – details are often muted in blog recaps, fancams don’t always capture an artist’s presence, and even the most experienced fan isn’t necessarily able to put the energized ambiance of a concert into words. Anyone who sees the Wonder Girls & 2PM live can agree that these performers practically bleed stage charisma; just a few seconds of a song could get the crowd roaring in mere moments. You’d think that performing the same show in nine (and counting…) cities would tire you out on stage, yet the girls & guys commanded the attention of an eager, ear-splitting audience every night. At the Los Angeles show, the House of Blues was busting at the seams with attendees (including David Cook… no joke!); in Anaheim, a bra was thrown at Nichkhun twice!
After giving you a sneak peek backstage, kicking off the tour with the girls and reliving the show play by play, we’ve still got a few more exclusives up our sleeves. I had the opportunity of meeting the Wonder Girls & 2PM backstage during each of their California shows, and from a bit of TaecHo bromance to the Wonder Girls playing line charades, you fans are in for a treat! Check out allkpop’s exclusive tête-à-tête –yes, in English– below!
Ever since the Wonder Girls began their trek across the globe with international promotions and overseas tour, it’s been said that the gals have lost their “idol quality” because they have become so accessible to fans. Personally, I think the girls’ consistent exposure to their international fans, what with this tour, their American activities and the 2009 Jonas Brothers tour, hasn’t stripped away their title as idols at all – getting to interact with the girls in person, whether it be one-on-one or a live performance, proves that these ladies aren’t merely eye candies for the small screen & musical stage, but real girls that you can not only connect with and admire as both performers and humans.
Remember, it’s not too late to experience the wonder – the second leg of the tour with 2AM is coming up this July, so make sure to grab your tickets at Live Nation or Ticketmaster before they sell out!
