Kylie Minogue poses for sexy new photoshoot as she reveals, 'Lady Gaga inspires me'
Kylie Minogue has called her new album Aphrodite after the Greek goddess of beauty and love and, from these pictures, it's not hard to see why.
The petite 42-year-old singer strikes a series of sexy poses for gay magazine Out, as she reveals that the new record - which shot to the top of the UK charts on Sunday - was partly inspired by Lady Gaga.
Kylie admits she had to rethink the direction of the new record when Gaga came on the music scene, because she was so inspiring.
She told the magazine: 'Lady Gaga dropped a meteor in the middle of the pop landscape - which is amazing.
'But it meant that we had to take that into account. It wouldn’t have made any sense to go down that road to try to fit in.'
Kylie also said that despite the worldwide critical acclaim her album has so far received, she hates dealing with any bad reviews, but it will never put her off continuing her career in the music industry.
She explained: 'It cuts like a knife if I read a bad review. But in the end, how the album is received by the press won’t make any difference to me - I’d still come back.
'A few thousand people in a room sharing two or three hours together - when all the other stuff gets too complex to understand, that’s a really good place to bring it back to.'
Kylie also revealed that despite wearing a series of inspiring outfits - including her famous gold hotpants - she doesn't think of herself as a trendsetter.
She added, somewhat cryptically: 'I don’t even have a tattoo. I’m so untrendy. I think maybe I should have one - I’d secretly like to have a galaxy somewhere.'
Aphrodite is Kylie's eleventh studio album and features an array of catchy summer tunes, including the first single from the record, All The Lovers.
Talking about the song recently, Kylie said: 'As I was recording it, I knew that All The Lovers had to be the first single - it sums up the euphoria of the album perfectly.
'It gives me goosebumps so I’m really excited to hear what everyone thinks of it.'
Aphrodite is out now.
