Katy Perry debuts new bobbed look as she arrives in Japan... but is it a wig?
Most brides-to-be are busy trying to grow their hair for that perfect wedding day photo.
But Katy Perry has never been one to follow the crowd.
The singer was seen sporting a short, casual bob as she landed in Tokyo for a leg of her California Gurls tour, having apparently lopped off her long hair.
Wearing sleek black pants, an embellished T-shirt, and a pair of Ray-Bans, she walked through the airport glancing at her cell phone.
Perhaps she was texting her fiancé Russell Brand to tell him she'd landed safely.
Of course, one can't be sure that she has actually cut her hair.
Perry, known for her ever-changing coiffures, loves using props to play with her image.
She put on a metallic blue wig for the MTV Awards and recently showed up dressed as a geeky school girl, complete with braces, for the Teen Choice Awards.
And would she really want to go shorter this close to her nuptials to comedian Brand, rumoured to be sometime this fall?
Perry has described her style as very 'colourful and vintage.' Maybe the bob will go along with a retro theme for the wedding.
Either way, Australians were in for a wild time when Perry earlier crashed the Melbourne High School prom, after visiting the city as part of her tour.
'It was towards the end of the night and everyone was having a good time,' student Stfan Uzelac said.
When her hit track California Gurls played, Perry began singing along with the track.
'She appeared slightly drunk and was stumbling a little,' student Adi Kedar told the Radaronline website.
'As she grabbed the microphone, she was surrounded by highly excited students and began singing along with the soundtrack.'
The 25-year-old is now in the Far East to promote her new album Teenage Dream.
She will play a show in a secret as-yet-unannounced venue for her fans in Japan later this week.
She tweeted: 'On ward ho! Going to my FAVORITE place in the WHOLE world...TOKYO. I'm gonna puke hearts, stars, unicorns & harajuku girls, I can't take it.'
