'Dragon Tattoo' star Noomi Rapace cast in 'Sherlock Holmes 2'

Now you're really going to have to learn how to pronounce her name.

Noomi Rapace, the Swedish star of the movie adaptation of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, has been cast as the female lead in Sherlock Holmes 2, according to The Hollywood Reporter. This will be her first English-speaking role.

The Sherlock sequel brings back all the original players, including Robert Downey Jr. as Holmes himself, Jude Law as his trusty sidekick Dr. Watson, and Guy Ritchie, returning to his role of director.

Noomi (having fun with her first name yet?) has been receiving rave reviews for her role as Lisbeth Salander in the Millennium Trilogy films, and has been recently meeting with producers in Los Angeles to begin her American film career. Sherlock Holmes 2 is her first gig.

While no official details have been released concerning Noomi's role, the The Hollywood Reporter is speculating her character may be a French gypsy. Also unknown? Whether or not Noomi will be a friend, foe or love interest for Robert Downey Jr.

The plot for Sherlock Holmes 2 has been kept on lockdown thus far, but we do know that Professor Moriarty will be back as Holmes' main nemesis, and we'll be meeting Sherlock's brother. Warner Brothers is planning on starting production later this year.
