LG E900 Optimus 7 picture leaked by Microsoft
Remember the LG E900? One of LG’s first Windows Phone 7 devices was seen on video a couple of days ago.
This handset, unlike the LG C900 for AT&T, was reportedly headed to Europe. And that was all but confirmed today, when Microsoft Netherlands leaked a picture of the upcoming smartphone via Twitter.
Apparently, the E900 will be sold as the LG Optimus 7, which may mean that LG will be extending the Optimus brand beyond Android-based solutions. Perhaps Optimus is shaping up to be LG’s smartphone brand, regardless of OS.
The picture may suggest that the phone is headed in Vodafone’s direction, since there’s a 360 tile on it. However, this may not necessarily be the case, as Microsoft Netherlands said in a follow-up tweet. That tile may just be there for testing purposes.
Vodafone or not, it’s clearly coming to Europe since Microsoft Netherlands bothered to tweet about it.
There’s also a Panorama shot tile, which suggests that there will be a dedicated Panorama mode for the camera.
Windows Phone 7 is supposed to be finalized in October, so perhaps November is when we’ll see widespread availability of this handset if LG want to be at the front of the WP7 pack.
