He is busy filming in Germany while his pregnant wife has been furthering her modelling career in Los Angeles.
So newlyweds Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were clearly delighted to see each other as she visited the 33-year-old actor on set yesterday.
Bloom, who was clad in his 17th century costume for the Three Musketeers film, only had eyes for his young wife on the set in Wuerzburg, Germany.
The smiling pair hugged and kissed in a break from shooting, with Bloom at one point whispering into Kerr's ear.
Bloom expressed his happiness at the baby news during a Munich photo call for the movie back in August.
'I'm really excited about it, it's great,' he said, referring to the fact that he could be away for much of Kerr's pregnancy. 'I'll go home as often as possible. She'll come out here too.'
The Victoria's Secret Model has previously had that she has always wanted to be a mother.
'I’ve always thought Orlando would be a great dad,' she said.
'I've always wanted kids, so someday, eventually, yes, it will happen.
'My ideal situation would be to live on a farm in a solar-powered house with a hammock and a vegetable patch.'
Bloom and Kerr, who is thought to be five months pregnant, tied the knot back in the summer in a private ceremony in Anguilla.
The Pirates of the Caribbean star plays the Duke of Buckingham alongside Christoph Waltz and Milla Jovovich in the new film directed by Paul W Anderson.
