Samsung Omnia 7 to be among the first available WP7 handsets?

Almost all Samsung Omnia phones launched until now are Windows Mobile-based (the only exception is the Omnia HD i8910, which runs Symbian). So it should come as no surprise the fact that Samsung is apparently readying an Omnia with Windows Phone 7 on-board.

According to Thomas Husson (who writes for Forbes), the Samsung Omnia 7 will be out in October, being part of the first batch of Windows Phone 7 handsets – alongside the LG Optimus 7, HTC Mozart 7 (which seems to be made for Orange), and probably other devices.

Unfortunately, we don’t know what the Omnia 7 looks like. Could it be the Samsung i8700 (pictured below, on the right)? We’ll see.

Another Windows Phone 7 handset from Samsung is the Cetus. It looks like the Cetus is destined for North America, while the Omnia 7 could be released only in Europe – but, of course, we can’t be sure of that yet.
