Anderson Cooper's "Gay" Dilemma With Vince Vaughn: Not Over Yet

Oops.

Sounds like Anderson Cooper may still have a dilemma with Vince Vaughn.

Although Universal Studios announced on Friday it would replace a trailer for the funnyman's new comedy, The Dilemma, because of complaints about its negative use of the word gay…

It's still running in theaters, according to media watchdog group GLAAD. (In fact, one of our very own E! Online staffers saw it over the weekend in Los Angeles before a screening of The Social Network.)

GLAAD has now issued a call to action for its members and supporters to contact the studio to urge them to replace the trailer and remove the gay joke from the movie.

"Approximately two weeks ago—about the time GLAAD received its first complaint about the trailer—Universal asked GLAAD to provide feedback on the clip," GLAAD said in a statement. "The feedback was clear: it plays on the sorts of stereotypes that give license to bullies and should be taken out."

"After talking to GLAAD, Universal promised to edit it out, but didn't make good on the commitment. Then, when CNN's Anderson Cooper denounced the trailer last week, Universal again promised to remove the anti-gay joke from the trailer. But the trailer is still running in theaters."

A rep for the studio declined to comment.

"When 'gay' is used as a pejorative in such a public way for millions to see and laugh with, it legitimizes and propels the many taunts that gay people endure," GLAAD president Jarrett Barrios said. "Amidst a rash of bullying-related suicides and anti-gay hate crimes, we need to tell Universal and America that our community is tired of being used as a punch line."

UPDATE: Universal Studios has released a new trailer for The Dilemma. No word yet on if the "gay" comment has been removed from the film itself.
