KARA, Rain, 2AM and AKB48 added to Asia Song Festival lineup
Asia Song Festival is a popular Asian music festival held yearly in South Korea. It features many famous artists from across the Asian continent.
Last year’s festival included artists such as Big Bang, 2NE1, Girls’ Generation / SNSD, and Super Junior from South Korea. Participants from other countries included Show Luo from Taiwan, Li Yu-chun from China, V6, Gackt and Mihimaru GT from Japan, K-Otic from Thailand, Hồ Ngọc Hà from Vietnam, Agnes Monica from Indonesia, Ruslana from Ukraine and Ekin Cheng from Hong Kong.
Around a month ago, the initial lineup for the 2010 Asia Song Festival was announced. The lineup included BoA from South Korea, Joe Cheng from Taiwan, Jane Zhang from China, Michael Wong from Malaysia, and FILM from Thailand. Now, more names have been included in the fold and they include KARA, Rain and 2AM from South Korea with AKB48 from Japan.
This year’s event will celebrate South Korea’s hosting of the G20 Major Economies Summit, which will be held in Seoul from November 11th – 12th. This year’s festival will also have involvement from UNICEF and all proceeds from the event will be donated to aid the children in Pakistan (floods). The special ambassador on behalf of UNICEF will be Boys Over Flowers superstar Lee Min Ho and the chairman for the festival will be Kung fu superstar Jackie Chan.
The Festival is scheduled to be held at the Jamsil Olympic Stadium on October 23rd.
